Simon of Cyrene

As I was reading through the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord this last Easter week I was wondering the significance of Simon of Cyrene carrying the cross for Jesus. One may say that the Scriptures are just saying that a man named Simon from Cyrene carried the cross, no more and no less.  However, God’s Word is perfect.  There is nothing lacking in it and there are no wasted words used in it.  Everything in it is there for a reason. Simon comes from the Hebrew word “shema” meaning “hear” and “obey”.  It is Strong’s H8085.  I have always found it fascinating and instructive that in the language of the Bible to hear means to obey.
One of the most important prayers in Judaism is the Shema which begins with the word “shema”.
Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
Cyrene means “powerful one”.  It has the same root as “Lord”. So Hear and Obey from a city whose name is tied to our Lord carried the cross. Simon is first mentioned in Matthew:
Matthew 27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
Prior Jesus says that if anyone comes after Him, he must deny himself and carry his cross.  This is what peaked my interest.  I knew Jesus said we must carry our cross and there was someone named Simon-meaning “hear and obey” carrying a cross at the crucifixion.
Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
The verse jump between the 2 verses is 465. Strong’s G465 =”exchange” is used 2 times in the New Testament.  In both instances they are used in the discussion of Jesus telling his disciples that they must carry their cross:
Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mark 8:37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
There are also a number of times the word “shema” has an in-text gematria of 465 according to the 777 gematria database.
So Jesus told his disciples that to be a disciple one must carry his cross.  Simon of Cyrene is a picture of the disciple of Christ carrying his cross.  Jesus died in our place, but we are still to “hear and obey” and out of love and dedication for what He has done for us.

Some fun stuff in there Falin was only 10 when she met Marccille which is nice conformation because while Falin said somthing like Marccille still thinks that she's 10 when talking to Laios about why Marccille was so worried about her it could have been exaggeration so the confirmation is nice. Also Marcille herself is only 50 when the events of Dungeon Meshi takes place which feels crazy because when Laios was asked about how old she looked he said 100, halfbread aging really is fucky. She's only twice Laios' age which considering her natural lifespan is over 10 time his... yeah I get her fears about aging by the time Falin would die of old age(who knows not with the dragon bits) Marcille would only be about 110-120 and that's if Falin had an above average Tallman lifespan. 120 isn't old for a normal elf, it's like their 20s, by proportion Marcille would be about 10 or younger.... that proportion is offset by her maturing at a non proportional rate but still....

Izutsumi is only 17 which.... Falin is 6 years older than her and thats not counting if her being a chimera affects her aging. Her youngest child energy is truly justified.

The 6th Seal of Revelation & the Letter Vav

I did a series of posts that the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet correspond to the 22 chapters of Revelation.
The 6th chapter of Revelation corresponds to the 6th Hebrew letter Vav. The ancient Hebrew language is a pictograph language. The letter vav is a picture of a nail or tent peg. The letter vav is considered the connecting force of God to creation. It is what joins just as a nail or tent peg joins.
The first time the 6th Hebrew letter vav is found in the Bible , it is in the 6th word “and”. It is joining the words “heaven” and “the earth”.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The word “vav” is Strong’s H2053. And is translated as “hook” or “tent peg”. These tent pegs were used in the tabernacle to join the tabernacle to the earth. Since the tabernacle was the dwelling of God from heaven these hooks/vavs connected heaven to the earth.
Note that man is joined to God through Jesus by being nailed (vav) to the cross.
John 20:25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
This is the only use of Strong’s G2247 = “nail” and it has an intext gematria = 888 = Jesus.
Jesus is known as restorer of the “missing vav”.
The word for generations as used in Genesis 2:4 before the fall of man is spelled correctly with 2 vavs but after the fall has only 1 vav until Ruth 4:18 and the generations of Pharez, hence a “missing vav”.
Genesis 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
Ruth 4:18 Now these are the generations of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron,
The running total gematria to the second word, Strong’s H8435 = “generations” with the restored vav, is 888. Again Jesus = 888.
Strong’s H6557 “Pharez” means breach or break forth and is from Strong’s H6556.
Pharez’ birth genealogy leads to the birth of David. Jesus is the Son of David and the promised king of the Davidic covenant. God was saying He would break forth into humanity through Jesus and provide redemption and the restored vav.
Jesus is known as the repairer of the breach (Pharez) in chapter 888 of the Bible. Again 888 = Jesus.
Amos 9:11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:
Genesis 2:4 is verse 35 and Ruth 4:18 is verse 7209. 7209-35 = 7174 verses in between. Only 1 verse in all of Bible with gematria 7174 and it is about the crucifixion, the nails (vav) pierced our Savior’s body to restore back to creation.
Mark 15:33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
So Jesus is the missing vav and He is what joins heaven and earth. Chapter 6 of Revelation is tied to the letter vav. The beginning of the 6th seal of this 6th chapter of Revelation uses the same language as Mark 15:33 tied to Jesus as the missing vav. This darkness begins at the 6th hour and corresponds to the 6th seal.
Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
As I have said in other posts the sun and moon are called “rulers” of the heavens in Genesis 1:16 and are symbolically used as symbols of leadership. The Bible paints a picture of God as the sun since He is the chief ruler from the heavens. Sackcloth symbolizes mourning. The symbolism of the sun turning black as sackcloth is a picture of God the Father in mourning over His Son whom He has put the penalty of sin upon. The moon is symbolized in the Bible as a leader who reflects the light of the moon. When Jesus was on earth He was a reflection of the Father and served Him. The moon became blood I believe refers to Jesus becoming the blood sacrifice for our sins.
Genesis 37:34 And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.
A pertinent question is if the beginning of the 6th seal is the death of Jesus then how can He be pictured in Revelation 5 as worthy to open the seals because He was slain and accomplished redemption? That makes no sense. However, Revelation 13 states that the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world. God and the events in heaven are not subject to the laws of time as we are here on earth.
Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
The verse jump from Mark 15:33 to Revelation 6:12 is 5946. Verse 5946 contains the Passover. Christ on the cross was the Passover Lamb. It is also the first time that they ate from the Promised Land after being in the wilderness 40 years. It would seem to be a confirmation of the Abrahamic covenant.
Josh 5:11 And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day.
The first verse with a gematria of 5946 is about the covenant God made with Abram. It is important to note that Abram never walked through the divided animals, only God. God was saying He alone will be responsible for keeping this covenant, a reference again to God Himself breaking forth/Pharez into humanity through Jesus and providing redemption.
Genesis 15:10 And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not

Balaam, the Donkey, and the Angel
21 So in the morning Balaam got up, saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Moab.
22 Then God’s anger was kindled because Balaam was going along, and the angelb of the LORD stood in the road to oppose him. Balaam was riding his donkey, and his two servants were with him.
23 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand, she turned off the path and went into a field. So Balaam beat her to return her to the path.

36 When Balak heard that Balaam was coming, he went out to meet him at the Moabite city on the Arnon border, at the edge of his territory. 37 And he said to Balaam, “Did I not send you an urgent summons? Why did you not come to me? Am I really not able to richly reward you?”

The "Conquest of Canaan" and Palestine Today
A little bit ago an anon asked about how to deal with parts of the Bible that depict the Israelites violently removing the original inhabitants of Canaan in order to settle in their promised land, particularly in light of how those texts are used to justify the modern state of Israel's occupation of and violence against Palestine today.
I did my best to respond — and then @imusthavebecomesomething replied to let me know that Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg recently explored the same exact questions in her newsletter, Life Is a Sacred Text!
Naturally, she articulated her points much better than I. So I'm back to recommend her piece, which delves into:
the historical context of Israel's founding vs. the political narrative the biblical authors formed around it
the atrocities that narrative has been used to justify (from the Crusades to European colonialism to today's atrocities in Gaza)
why it's still worth reading these stories ("shake them and shake them until the insight falls out")
She ultimately concludes that (the following is an excerpt from her article):
Israelites and Canaanites were likely basically the same peoples, with different customs. They were not "ethnically" different in any way, except that they eventually became a separate "ethnos" in the hiiiighly academic sense of "having a common national or cultural tradition," belonging to different peoplehoods, with different religious-tribal customs, different ideas about what made you an insider and outsider, etc. But were they "ethnically" different, in the way that we use it today? Nauxpe. Nope. Nawp. Which means...
Both Israelites/Jews and Palestinians have existed on that patch of land as far back as history goes, and
Those of us who have wayback Jew ancestry (see above: you can be part of the Jewish ethnos/people without being an ethnic Jew, dig) are related, genetically, to Palestinians. Surprise, surprise? (To whom, exactly??) And it also means that
The "God gave us this land to conquer and encouraged us to genocide the locals" narrative was originally a political fabrication and it has since been used for innumerable horrific political ends, including now.
