I try to strip off what I've learned,
I try to forget the way of remembering I've been taught,
And scrape off the ink they used to paint my senses,
Unpacking my true emotions,
Unwraping myself and being me
You have to forget in order to remember,
you have to unlearn in order to learn again.

It was a pleasure to burn— or something, Richas had never read the book. She was six. And being six years old, she had certain impulses. And being six years old, nobody had really taught her not to do everything that seemed like a fine idea in her head.
So she gathered up her supplies— matches, spare wood from her pais’ chests, old pieces of furniture, random papers in her pais’ offices, and threw them all in one big pile outside the favela.
Grinning, she paced around the circle once. Then, she checked the houses to make sure her pais were distracted, just in case they got mad. Finally, she struck the match against the matchbox, and prepared to toss it into the pile, when the door swung open and slammed against the side of the house. Richas squeaked.

more blank canvas kaneki (black hair haise edits)
my silly little artist man...
Read Blank Canvas, my No Ghouls AU EtoKen fic, right now on Tumblr and AO3! please
In which Sen Takatsuki, the infamous social justice/horror/tragedy author, hires Ken Kaneki, the online artist known as Haise Sasaki, for a graphic novel. They tackle the subject of serial killers, political scapegoats, and-- gasp-- maybe even a bit of romance along the way? that sounded so cool nailed it

Because I have no impulse control at craft stores, I’ve had this stack of mini canvases on my desk for years. What should I draw on them?? Taking suggestions! I’m in need of inspiration 🎨

The future remains uncertain and so it should, for it is the canvas upon which we paint our desires. Thus always the human condition faces a beautifully empty canvas. We possess only this moment in which to dedicate ourselves continuously to the sacred presence which we share and create.
