Worldbuilding in my MLP au.

The subject: pegasi variation.

Although for most mlp artists colored wings are just a stylistic choice, in my au, it's a rare trait called: Imperial Pegasi, it can be passed down from parent to child. For example

Rainbow Dash got her wing mutation from her father and she passed it down to two of her foals.

Here's further information:

In my AU only a few pegasi are imperial pegasi:

Spitfire

Bow Hothoof

Dashing Zapple

Lightning Blitz

Note: Alicorns naturally get colored wings as they age, they are not considered Imperial Pegasus nor can they pass down to their offspring(unless said offspring is an Alicorn, like Flurry Heart).

Headcanon I needed to visualize immediately

Sooo I’m not sure how often I’ll actually post OCs here, but I really wanted to show off this gal, I love how everything turned out!

This gal’s name is Rocket Trail! Rocket is a Windy Whistles & Bow Hothoof kiddo. She’s apart of a next generation I made centered around making an extra sibling to the mane six. She’s probably my favorite out of the bunch I made!

Although I like Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles, I kind of miss that stage before they were introduced where everyone thought Rainbow Dash was raised by a single dad. I think it would have been good representation of a family structure that’s not just a nuclear family with two living, married parents, which among all the major characters we only really see in Applejack’s family. It would have potentially added another angle to RD’s character too that we never got to see.

In that vein, Scootaloo’s parents being revealed at the end was such a cop-out. She should have been an orphan or solely raised by her aunts all along imo.

This one's a couple years old, as it's often the case with some of my drawings. You can tell by how crunched those shadows are. I adjusted it a little bit after the fact, but I don't think that made things much better. Not like I'm much better at shading now, but I want to think my shadows are less blotchy and a bit softer these days.

Poor Rainbow Dash. There's something such as too much attention.
