Published: June 15, 2019
PHILADELPHIA - A highly anticipated grudge match between former boxing world champion Paulie “The Magic Man” Malignaggi and UFC veteran Artem “The Russian Hammer” Lobov will headline Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) action on Saturday, June 22 live on pay-per-view from Florida State Fairgrounds Entertainment Hall in Tampa, Fla.
The televised portion of the can’t-miss night of fights will begin at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT and will also see former UFC Veteran Chris Leben in his second BKFC attraction, as he takes on longtime Bellator standout Brennan Ward. Plus, the finals of the BKFC Lightweight Tournament will pit Reggie Barnett against Johnny Bedford in a showdown for the BKFC Lightweight Championship.
“Coming off of our epic battle on April 6 between Artem Lobov and Jason Knight, the momentum is incredible coming into BKFC 6,” said BKFC Founder and President David Feldman. “With the feud that Paulie and Artem have already, this promises to be super exciting. This is bare knuckle and everything changes when they fight bare knuckle. So, whatever plans you have can go out the window quickly. That’s what makes this so exciting and why I am so excited for this fight. I think we will have a lot of eyes on this event and we are very happy to be hosting this in Tampa, one of the best fight markets in the country. I truly can’t wait for June 22.”
The event will be broadcast across the United States and Canada, exclusively on pay-per-view through MultiVision Media, Inc., on all major television distribution outlets for $39.99. It will also be available worldwide via stream to all in-home and out-of-home connected devices at FITE-TV and www.bareknuckle.tv
Tickets for “BKFC 6” are available now exclusively at www.bareknuckle.tv. Florida will become the latest state to host a BKFC event after previous contests have been held in Wyoming and Mississippi, plus an event that took place in Cancun, Mexico.
Malignaggi vs. Lobov will see the much-discussed rivalry between Malignaggi and MMA star Conor McGregor come to a head when Malignaggi squares off against one of McGregor’s teammates and friends in Lobov. Prior to Lobov’s BKFC debut in which he defeated Jason Knight in April, Malignaggi and Lobov exchanged words and nearly came to blows at a media day in New York. With the June 22 fight date set and buzz continuing to grow, they will soon settle the conflict in the ring.
“I’m very excited to make my BKFC debut and for this fight to take place in Florida. Bringing BKFC to another state is only going to help this sport grow faster and attract more attention to bare knuckle fighting,” said Malignaggi. “It’s no secret, Artem and I have some bad blood between us. I don’t like him and I’m looking forward to sinking my fists into his face. June 22 can’t come soon enough. Fans are going to really enjoy this one as the biggest BKFC card yet, and it’ll set the stage for even bigger and better events as more fighters realize that they can make a good living and have a great career in this discipline of combat sports.
“I’m really looking forward to this fight,” said Lobov. “Paulie has been doing a lot of talking. He hasn’t been able to keep his mouth shut, but on June 22 I’m going to silence him. He’s an old boxer who’s coming off of the couch. He’s only doing this because he didn’t manage his money better, so now he has to take a fight against me, ‘The Russian Hammer.’ I expect to maul Paulie in there. He doesn’t know what he’s in for. I’m going to introduce him to some things that he’s never seen before and this is going to be a real fight.”
A two-time, two-division boxing champion, Malignaggi joined BKFC earlier this year and plans to show off the skills that made him a world champion at 147 and 140-pounds. Representing his hometown of Brooklyn, New York, Malignaggi faced top competition and big stars such as Miguel Cotto, Zab Judah, Ricky Hatton, Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia, Amir Khan and more throughout a career that spanned sixteen years. He put on title-winning performances against Lovemore Ndou and Vyacheslav Senchenko while also defeating Judah, Juan Diaz and Pablo Cesar Cano amongst his notable wins. He has not fought since 2017, but remains a staple of the of the combat sports world through his renowned work as a color commentator and analyst.
A 32-year-old fighter from Russia, Lobov defeated Jason Knight by unanimous decision in an exciting brawl to make his BKFC debut successful in April. Lobov made his name on Season 22 of The Ultimate Fighter as part of Team McGregor, where he worked his way to the finals of the tournament before losing to Ryan Hall. Now fighting out of Ireland, where he continues to train with McGregor, he challenged Cub Swanson in a UFC main event in 2016, after picking up victories over Chris Avila and Alex White. While he lost his last three UFC bouts by decision, he owns 13 professional MMA wins.
Originally from Portland, Oregon and now training out of Chula Vista, California, Leben first emerged onto the scene in the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter before going on to become a WEC Middleweight Champion. A veteran of over 20 UFC events, his career includes a five-fight win streak that led to a challenge of Anderson Silva. Leben will be opposed by New London, Connecticut’s Ward, a 30-year-old veteran of 15 Bellator events, including a victory in Bellator’s Season Nine Middleweight Tournament.
A pro boxer with a 6-2 record, the 32-year-old Barnett has earned his spot in the Lightweight Tournament Final with a victory over Rusty Crowder in April. Fighting out of Chesapeake, Virginia, Barnett will face Forth Worth, Texas native Bedford to capture the first BKFC Lightweight Title. Bedford punched his ticket to the final with an April triumph over Abdiel Velazquez.

A new year. A new era of computing.
>
We’ve been approached by some of the largest companies in the world (some of them our big kickstarter backers) to develop a high powered professional product.
We worked on this secret project that is now the metaPro, knowing the developments in this new technology would mean upgrades to the meta1 Developer edition for you as well. We’re please to announced the MetaPro, an ultra high-end professional augmented reality product which is a sign of where our form factor is heading in the long term. The R&D that led to the larger field of view (FOV) in the metaPro has allowed us to bring a much larger FOV to you in the meta Developer as a free upgrade. Nothing else is available on the market with this kind of technology. The professional team has requested more features in the SDK and those will all go to you as our developers as well. You now have a team of 35 highly talented individuals working around the clock to build your product. This is a huge leap from the 6 people who brought the Kickstarter to you, so you can expect big things.
Tumblr media
Introducing the Ultra High-end metaPro Glasses: The first early adopter device for consumers. We have a new video shows a recording of our software as seen through the meta pro glasses. Featuring a 15 times displayable area of Google Glass and superior materials including Carl Zeiss lenses.  This device will be the new form factors the end-users will be running your 3D augmented reality applications in the future.
Tumblr media
We greatly appreciate your support in backing us through the kickstarter and would like to offer you $700 offer for the metaPro purchases.

Company expansion
After launching our Kickstarter in April, we were blown away by almost doubling our goal! So we decided to double our efforts! We’ve been iterating on the design to ensure you get something very special and you’re very happy with what you receive. We have made a significant upgrade to the form factor, upgrading the design for all orders multiple times. Sales were much stronger than expected resulting in a complete sell out of the meta1 and opening up a lot of resources to make the product even better.
Free Upgrade #1 - Form Factor
To improve the ergonomics, we devoted substantial resources to develop a new industrial design, and upgraded every previous order free of charge in October. After many different iterations that many of you have been following we have presented you with continually more impressive designs. We want this to be a product you can comfortably wear while developing all day. After feedback from our earliest iterations we saw some room for improvement in the ergonomics of the device. To solve this, we hired Rusty Reed as a special contractor to work on ergonomics and production line. Rusty has 20 years experience building glasses for Native, Orbus and Nike, and has contributed major improvements to product design and tooling to ensure a smooth production run.
Free Upgrade #2 - The Field of View (FOV)
We have nearly doubled the Field Of View (FOV). After the significant improvements to ergonomics, we focused on our next biggest feedback point: the FOV. After months of new optics iterations, we found a solution! We can now provide your developer edition with a 35 degrees FOV.  This FOV increase gives you 12 times the viewable area of Google Glass and almost double what the previous design had! This will allow you to design your applications with a device that is close to what consumers will be using.
Tumblr media
All developer editions pre ordered in the past and now will now have upgraded FOV and the upgraded ergonomic design at no extra expense.

Manufacturing & delivery plans
Due to our groundbreaking new designs, the delivery timeline has been lengthened by a few months. The glasses will begin shipping this May. We want to share with you the inside details of what we are doing to bring you the future of computing by May 2014 and why we have determined it is necessary to delay the shipping.
Tumblr media
gantt chart from beginning of October to January.
After our overwhelming demand for the developer edition, we have been incredibly busy designing the future. We are committed to making sure you we designed the highest quality glasses in the global market, as soon as possible!
In October, we created new technology for a bigger field of view that previously wasn’t viable. By mid-October we had some working prototypes in our labs. We successfully validated the prototypes and after weighing up the pros and cons for the benefit of our customers made a decision to change course at no additional cost.
We’ve finished finalizing the conceptual design. Now the conceptual designs are turned into mechanical CAD file designs used for prototyping. These files are used for building prototypes, testing the prototypes and redesigning them until we validate that all the parts are correct. Once the CAD files are finalized we give those to the manufacturer to create the tooling plans for the injection molding tools. The tooling designs are completed and the injection molding tools are built. A very short run of parts of each tool is done. These are our “first shots”. Our first shots are reviewed for accuracy. Once perfecting everything and ensuring the tools accurately the tools are finished and production parts can than be made preparing your glasses for shipment.
  Prototypes!
We have a world class team of industrial designers, production line specialists and optics engineers who have put their heads together to redesign the physical product that will be the future of computing. But don’t just take our word for it, check them out!

FAQ
A lot of you have noticed and taken advantage of the live chat when it is on our website, spaceglasses.com. We would like to answer publicly some of the most common questions.
Will I be getting the developer edition or metaPro? If you have ordered the developer edition since our first sales in August 2013, you are getting the new and improved developer edition, shown on the top of this page, with an ergonomic, sleek design and much larger FOV upgrade. We greatly appreciate your support in ordering the developer edition of meta1 and would like to offer you a $200 reduction in price toward the metaPro.
metaPro $200 reduction code: pro-developer
What is the difference between metaPro and the developer edition? metaPro is an ultra high end early adopter device shipping with finished applications.
The developer edition is an early release of meta1 for developers to start building apps with the most advanced augmented reality hardware as soon as possible. Key differences are a larger FOV, much lighter-weight product, much broader array of sensors providing enhanced synchronization between digital content and the real world and a distilled sensor capability allowing us to deliver an even more ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing design.
How is this different than Google Glass? meta is true see-through augmented reality. It features a binocular display and an array of sensors to perceive the real world and integrate it with the digital world, including a depth sensor, rgb camera, and IMU. We create the Iron Man-like interface with a natural form of input and display, allowing the world around you to become the computing interface. At half the price, we offer double the technology. Google Glass with the Mirror API is not true augmented reality. It is a notification machine - a monocle display that does not recognize real world objects or support 3D objects and 3D interfaces.
What is in the SDK? Featureless surface detection, multi-marker detection and tracking, feature-based tracking, featureless surface morphing, real-time 3D scene segmentation, 3D stereoscopic display (side-by-side), hand tracking, hand gesture recognition, head-tracking with 9-DOF IMU integration (based on accelerometer, gyro, and digital compass). Sample code of demo applications. Samples codes include specific tutorials of how to create your first Augmented Reality applications with our SDK.
What operating systems does the developer edition run on? We currently support Windows 7 & 8 for development and are looking into supporting other OS’s. We are not currently supporting Parallels or VMware.
Can I still buy the meta1 developer edition? Due to the popularity of the meta1, we cannot guarantee we will have enough stock to fulfill your order, however if you wish to back-order one you can order one at spaceglasses.com/buy.
Company Expansion

New Publicity
We are launching tomorrow an EPIC new video with many cool new apps!
USA Today compared our founder and CEO Meron Gribetz to Steve Jobs. Fantastic read and interview.
WSJ, Bloomberg and Engadget also wrote amazing pieces about us and have great interviews with Meron.
We have a new video of Reddit co-founder Steve Huffman trying our new demos and wowed by our groundbreaking technology (Video is launching tomorrow!)
SDK Structure:
Object recognition, markerless feature tracking (based on OpenCV and PCL libraries using computer vision techniques acquired at Columbia University under the tutelage of Austin Reiter and Steven Feiner)
3-dimensional game-oriented scripting and interactivity using the Unity3D game engine
SoftKinetic gesture recognition augmented with additional gestures, Kalman smoothing, and other precision-enhancing techniques
InvenSense IMU integration using smoothing algorithms that interpose positional data between marker-tracked frames (our marker tracking usually operates at a full 60 fps, so this is mostly useful when the marker leaves the video frame or field of view)
Abstraction layers to allow easier development of productivity apps and vertical-specific (healthcare, law enforcement, finance, etc.) demos (and also games)
   Growth Trajectory:
Increased our VC funding by an order of magnitude in only 2 months
A home in Silicon Valley that briefly housed 20 staff members
A new Unity or CV developer on average one per week
A second house for engineer overflow
New hires: a marketing expert, industrial designer, graphic designer, developer ambassador, and web developer
Please also check out the press links at the bottom of the page for more information. We will attempt to update you here as well, but journalists do get a fair bit of our limited publicity time. We’re extremely busy building the best product we can for you!
More as this story develops.
Best wishes and happy summer,
Brennan Hatton,  Developer Ambassador and SDK Guru  Barrett Williams,  HW Product Manager and Late-Night Solderer  meta
