#Bridget answers things

So while for the most part the fan focus regarding the last Arcsys interview was on Bridget, there was a discussion about Baiken's creation too and apparently Ishiwatari had to argue for Baiken's canon appearance because they didn't want a disabled character and thought someone missing an eye and an arm 'wouldn't pass' in compliance. I really really can't imagine a universe like that, I really gotta respect his insistence on keeping her as she was
oh shit really? dang i haven't actually read that interview but wow, that's actually really cool. And yeah no I just can't square that image in my head, if she wasn't missing an arm and an eye, she wouldn't be Baiken. Her being disabled like that is just. How she is. It makes her striking, unique, powerful. It makes her Baiken, it'd be like taking the wings away from Dizzy or the belts away from Sol but like. Even more so.
Its more than a design decision it'd make her a completely different character, to take any of those features away would make her infinitely less herself.
Good on Daisuke for sticking to his guns about that...also sucks that he had to again emphasize the Bridget thing.
Side note, even if her being trans was a decision made later on, as late as Strive's development, it wouldn't be any less valid a decision to make. His character he can change whatever the fuck he wants, and he made her trans, she is trans, there is literally no debate to be had about it and the fact that he still, STILL needs to keep reiterating the point and defending himself about it has stopped making me angry and has gotten to the realm of exhausting.

"would you forgive me if…" (from my four ladies, cuz I didn't want to spam you with these four times xD)
send me    ‘ would you forgive me if… ‘    and my muse will tell yours something they’re finding it hard to forgive your muse for. from here @moonbcings
Bridget
Daemon is head over heels for Bridget and has a kinda wild obsession for her. There are times where he would even love to cage her away so nobody but him could look at her. Of course he doesn’t (and we all know he couldn’t cage Bridget anyways), but he actually gets nervous in big gatherings when he isn’t by her side all the time cause he’s always scared someone takes her away from him. She’s like a treasure for him he has to protect cause he found her and nothing is ever allowed to touch her or he would take their heads (or first hands then head). So what he couldn’t forgive is simply her leaving him. It’s not necessarily about cheating even if that would break his heart too cause he’s so deeply in love with her, but it’s definitely the thought of her leaving him which he couldn’t forgive.
Visenya
Daemon is very possessive about Visenya and loved her all his life. If she would cheat on him with someone else it would be not forgivable for him. Usually he isn’t the worst when it comes to sex with others since he loved to have sex a lot with so many others before they became a thing, but since he knows he’s her first one it matters to him that it stays that way cause it makes their bond special (he wouldn’t sleep with others after he gets her either).
Rhaenyra
With Rhaenyra it’s kinda similar to Visenya just with the difference that he can’t blame her if she would have someone else when he leaves cause he knows her free spirit. It’s on him that he probably leaves her after their first time cause he simply can’t be with her right away cause of his brother. Since Rhaenyra is the heir, it makes it much more difficult than being with Visenya for example. He knows that Viserys doesn’t trust him enough to be king cause if he would then he wouldn’t have exiled him or take that right from him in the first place. That’s why he will probably leave for a while and would even understand if Rhaenyra marries someone else or gets children with someone else. Just when he comes back he would expect her to choose him and forget about everyone else, so if she would cheat on him then it would be unforgivable. But in general he’s probably most forgiving with Rhaenyra simply because he understands her situation best with being the heir and having her former best friend against her and being alone in kings landing with all the pressure on her shoulders.
Astra
Loyalty is extremely important for Daemon and his advisors. Any form of treason, especially when it comes from Astra as his seer (and secret lover), would be unforgivable for him. Like when she helps his enemies or would plot against him. Also if she lies to him when it’s about her visions (which would of course be harder for him to find out), no matter how hard they may be, would be difficult for him to accept. He needs to trust her more than anyone and would rather hear a bitter truth than a lie just because she wants to protect him cause that would show him she doesn’t believe in him enough or doubts he can handle something which would make him feel weak in her eyes and he can’t deal with that.

My little Fairy

Summary: Coming to Merlin Acadamy you grew very close to the pirate with a hook. Everyone had declared you Hook's pirate Fairy. Truth be told, most people couldn't believe how loyal and caring you were to the pirate. So, when you finally snap, for the first time in a long time James didn't have you by his side, and all he knew was he wanted you back. Now.
Warnings: None I can think of, but let me know otherwise.

I watched as Bridget and her friends all danced around the court yard - singing and dancing. It was sickening, they were so sweet and yet I couldn't help the part of me that yearned for that kind of friendship.
My only friend was Captain Hook, and if given the chance I'm positive he would have ditched me long ago if not for my help with things. Whenever he wasn't prepared for a test, I'd skip my own class to be in my smaller form tucked away in his shirt - telling him the answers. Or whoever he wanted me to spy on one of his victims he terrorized, I'd do so. Or when he wanted pixie dust, etc. The point was, I'd give my soul for Captain James Hook, and I don't even think he sees me as a friend.
Snapping out of my haze I landed on James's shoulder, whispering in his ear - telling him how Bridget was in the courtyard being all happy. A message he hurried to tell Uliana, before he made his way to the spot. I was still on his shoulder as he entered the courtyard with a dramatic flair.
I remained on his shoulder as he sang and danced, until Uliana turned into a flamingo. Something I couldn't help but smile at. Part of me was jealous of Uliana, and her relationship with James. It looked more intimate than his with Maleficent.
I pulled James through a different door, Maleficent following after us - and we cut the girls off. I now rested on Maleficent Horns. I let out a gasp, that came out like a jingle.
The Vk's all retreated once Uliana ran away - screaming and soaking wet. At least she was no longer a flamingo.
Once everyone cooled down, I was now in my human form laying on my bed, dressed in a nice pretty black dress. My makeup and hair had been done and all I had to do was wait for Hook to get here so we could go to that birthday dinner he promised me.
"Still no Hook?" Maleficent - who was also my roommate asked me. "No, you would think he'd show by now. I mean he's twenty minutes late." I praised the lord that my voice didn't come out as jingles when in my human form. Annoyingly so, only other Faires and James could understand me when I was in my smaller size.
"I hate to say this," my roommate spoke as she sat onto my bed with me. "But maybe he forgot."
I quickly shook my head. No way - he promised me. He had promised. He wouldn't forget me.
Slowly the hours ticked by and by the time it struck eight, two hours after the time we agreed on, Maleficent forced me up, and her hand Hades took me to dinner.
I wanted to cry, but how could I? Just because I love him, doesn't mean he loves me. At that very moment I accept that cold hard truth.
So as Maleficent rubbed my arm, and Hades even pat my head - I had decided that I would stop trying with Hook, it'll never happen anyways.
Over the next few days you ignored Hook. You hadn't made the first move to talk to him, and it seemed he had nothing he wanted you to do for him.
When the third day of you ignoring him he grew antsy. He didn't know what the sudden change in you was, but for some very odd reason - he didn't like it.
He walked out of detention - Something he had gotten when he was caught breaking in Merlin's office. His very first thought was that you weren't there. Typically, when he'd get detention - if you didn't sit in there with him in his jacket, then you'd always greet him with a hug once he walked out the doors.
"Yo, Mali." He called out to the mistress of evil. "You heading to your room?"
The dark fairy nodded her head silently, and James took that as an invitation to walk her to her room. Even though he would never admit it, the real reason was so he could check on his little fairy. The one he was now growing worried about.
You jumped at the sound of the door opening. Looking up from the books you were reading on your bed, you were surprised to see Maleficent, but also James.
"Hook." You spoke, but kept your voice neutral.
The man couldn't help but flinch at the name you used. You never called him that, you always either used Captain or James. Now he knew somethings wrong.
"We need to talk." Came his short reply, but you weren't dumb, you could see the slow anger bubbling up in his eyes.
You slowly got off your bed, and walked out into the hallway with him. "What's the problem?" You were honestly he hadn't already listed things he wanted done, but you were sure he'd start soon.
"The problem? You tell me. You suddenly ignore me, I haven't seen you in three days - but I know good and well Hades has. So you fucking tell me the problem." His voice was slowly growing louder and louder.
"Hey calm down." You tried to keep your guy's voice quiet - but that only set him off more.
"Calm down?! How can I be calm when you vanished. You were gone." Suddenly both of you stopped. You both could hear the hurt, the insecurity, but most importantly the fear laced in his tone. His chest breathed up and down heavily as he realized just how much he bloody missed you.
"Listen, Hook." "James."
He took a step closer to you, slightly pushing you into the wall as he pushed into you, leaning down to breath you in.
Fuck he felt like an addict who needed a hit, and finally scratched that itch under their skin.
"You call me James." His breath fanned over your face, as he slightly leaned up to get a look at your face.
Part of you loved this, as you placed your hands onto his chest, the open part of his shirt so you both could feel the skin to skin contact.
For James it was like your touch awakened something in him. Something that called for your name. Something in him burned for you.
He leaned down, his breath fanning over your lips. Making you close your eyes in anticipation. Hook didn't was a single second. He dropped his hook from his hand, and placed it onto your cheek, while his other hand grabbed a hold of the back of your neck.
You in this moment couldn't deny you loved this - the feel of his lips on yours, the feel of his wanting you. But it was too late.
He had made it clear that you weren't a priority. And even though bread crumbs of his affection felt like a feast - it wasn't enough. You hand to stand up, You deserve better. Something that Captain hook couldn't give you.
You built your strength and pushed him away. "No."
Hook looked at you confused, did you not just feel what happened between the two of you? Because he was more than happy to give a repeat.
"I deserve better than you." You pushed him again, finally letting the tears out. Letting the tears out of a woman who wanted nothing more than the man she was crying over. "I deserve so much more than what you give me." Which was nothing. You pushed him again and this time he grabbed both your hand and pulled you into him, letting you hit him over and over until you were drained - but never letting go of you.
"You done?" You glared up and him through your pretty wet eyelashes. "Good. Now listen. You will have no one other than me. There will be no other man, woman, I don't give a fuck. Your my little fairy." You went to shake you head. No - maybe once you were his but not anymore.
"You don't even make a priority - how can you say that?" Your voice was horse from the mini break down you had while punching him.
"You are my priority." How could you say you weren't? Even when he though nothing of you, from the first moment he met you he had put you as a priority on his list.
"Ask me about how I spent my birthday three days ago." Fuck. Fuckfuckfuck.
You could see the panic cross his face. The regret and self loathing as well. And maybe once upon a time that would be enough, but not anymore.
You pulled yourself away from him and hurried into your room, locking the door.
He banged a couple time before he spoke through the wood.
"I'm sorry, fuck I'm sorry. Sorry can't even explain, let me make it up to you." When he got no response from he, he continued on. "I am sorry about this but we will move past it. Just remember you may think you are free of me, but your are not. I will haunt you, beg for your forgiveness. You want better - I'll be better."
You silently cried while Hook poured everything he had from his heart into his next words.
"I'll be so much fucking better for you, my little fairy. So better."
The rest of the entire week, Hook would try his best; he'd bring flowers to you in the morning, he'd always walk you to class - despite how much you told him to leave you alone.
James knew he screwed up, and he hated himself for it. He didn't know what he had and he took it for granted.
He would scowl at Hades and Maleficent when you all were hanging out at the black lagoon.
Just because you and hook were on shaky ground didn't mean you were no less a Vk. Something that the crew grew to respect about you.
Every time you walked past him - not giving him a glance, he felt his chest tighten. He miss how you would cling to him. How you would rest on your shoulder when you felt over stimulated. The way you would accidently spray him with pixie dust, causing him to float.
He missed teaching you sword fighting, and all the basics. He missed you.
"Y/N!" He called out to you, desprate to get your attention. For the first time, since that kiss you didn't glare at him - nor push him away.
Instead it was worse. He felt his stomach grow cold at the neutral and emotionless look in your eyes. At least when you hated him you still cared. Now he didn't know. Your walls were up so high - it's shadow could darken a valley.
"Yes Hook?" He closed his eyes, shaking off the feeling he had.
"First, it's James. Second, will you go to dinner with me." You opened your mouth to disagree but he covered it before you could make a sound.
"Don't say no." He could hear his heart pounding in his head. "Just come. Meet me at Dip and Go dinner tonight at eight."
He dropped his hand from your mouth, and he found his courage to speak his next words.
"If you don't come I'll leave you alone." He would not, but he needed to know that deep down he still had a chance. And if he didn't have one then he would spend the rest of his life fighting for one.
He walked away, nervous for the reality check that he would soon face tonight.
The clock on your dorm wall ticked, and ticked. Each second growing closer to eight. The diner was an hour away and if you were to make it in time you should be leaving now.
But you just couldn't. You were too afraid. You weren't a fool, you could tell James was sorry, and regretful, but you didn't know if you could trust him.
He had unknowingly held your heart - and then crushed it. What would he do if he had known how much you cared for him? Would he treat you different?
"You should go." You looked over to the dark fairy, you had thought she was out with Hades.
"I'm scared." You had once thought James was your only friend, but Maleficent and even her boyfriend proved me wrong. "That's what makes it worth it."
She walked over to your bed, sitting down beside me before she carried on. "If you even have a chance for love then it's worth it to fight. And if you decide that he's not worth it, then at the very least you owe it to yourself to find closure." Maybe she was right.
Hook glanced at the clock on the wall of the diner, it said eight forty, and he knew that she wasn't going to show. He blew his shot. He wanted to throw the glass Infront of him, the one where he poured rum into it.
He had decided to dress nicely, wore his best clothing, even left his hook at home. He wanted to look his best for you - to show you he could be a good guy for you.
He had already paid for his drink, so he left a twenty bill on the table and walked out. He would wait longer, but he could tell the employees had wanted him out.
He felt like he couldn't breathe as he walked down the path, he wanted to take you on. The trees lit up with beautiful fireflies at night, and it was a view he wanted to share with you.
His vision blurred, and his chest breathed up and down, as his heart ached, pounded. He had no problems with ripping his heart out for you, but fuck, all he needed was you. He felt like a fool - not because you didn't show, but because he was too self-absorbed and if he had opened his eyes from the beginning thing would be different.
He was a villain, and villains don't get happy endings. He knew that he could never have you, simply because you were his happy ending.
He stopped walking, as he tried to calm his heart with his shaking hands. Was he having a panic attack?
"James!" He heard your voice scream out his name, as you started to run to him. Fuck, he didn't care if he was dying as he ran to you with all the speed he could muster.
Once you were at arm's length you jumped into him, and he wrapped his arms around you as tight as he could. Loving the smell that invaded his senses with open arms.
You were late, he didn't know why, nor did he care. You were here with him. That single thought caused him to break. He couldn't hold onto his sobs anymore.
He thought he lost you because of himself. He thought he would spend his entire life alone - longing for the feel of you. He thought that truly lost you. Every part of him rejected that. He couldn't live with that.
He felt his knees start to weaken as he fell to the ground, you still in his arms and he clanged to you crying. You felt your heart break once again - and all you wanted was for your pirate to feel better. You kiss the top of his head, rubbing his back as he let all his fears out, all his emotions.
"I... I love you so so so much." He heaved out, his breath making him repeat. "And I'm... I'm sorry." He was and even you knew that. You were tired as well.
You pulled his face away from your neck, and for a moment he fought you - thinking you were once again going to push him away. You rubbed you thumb across his cheek as you looked into his beautiful eyes. His brown eyes were bloodshot red from the crying, and his eyeliner had started to smidge. His eyelashes soaking together, his lips trembling as he tried to get himself together.
"I forgive you." You whispered out, before pushing your lips against his soft, and wet ones. It was a small, and short kiss, but it was full of the love you had for him. The love he felt like he no longer deserved.
"I'm sorry." His voice came out like a while as more tears dropped from his eyes.
"I forgive you." You whispered once again, and this time he initiated the kiss. Soft, craving, and you could feel his sorrow. Despite the fact he was kissing you, you could still feel him begging for forgiveness.
"I love you." You told him, and while that's all he wanted to hear. He no longer felt like that was the case. How could you love him when he hated everything about himself? How could you forgive him, when he's still kicking his own ass.
"I love you two, my little fairy." Fuck his voice broke again as he rested his forehead against yours. You also couldn't help but cry as well.
James kept his promise. He did become better for you, and only you. He was still a villain, but he was a gentleman to you. He kissed you every time he saw you, gave you flowers every month when your old ones would die.
He did everything he could to become a good enough person for you, and while daily you'd reassure him how happy you are - he couldn't get your heartbroken face out of his mind.
He'd have nightmares of you leaving him all alone. You loved him, and he didn't feel worthy of it, but he'd be damned of someone else had it. He was still a villain.
The first moment where he finally felt okay to breath was when you told him the future you wanted with him. You had wanted a future with him. Him.
You wanted three kids, three girls, and you would love to watch him become a father as you all lived on his ship.
When you were all banished to the Isle of the lost, he hated himself for getting you stuck there, but you'd remind him you'd rather be with him then in some land without him.
When you first got pregnant, he couldn't help but be so joyous of the boy in your stomach. He never told you he wanted a son, but you knew so you also felt happy.
You had named him Harry, after James repeatedly told you he couldn't think of one. The second born was a girl, and you demanded he named her. So, he stole your idea and named her Harriet. Then on the final and last born, you told him he couldn't name your baby girl after he just stole Harry's name and gave it to his sister.
You, James, Harry, Harriet, and CJ lived on hook's ship. And despite the living conditions, you loved your family no less.
A/N: Hiii, if you see this and sent me an Elsa reader x Hook request I promise I am working on that!!

Uliana cackles, using her tentacle to hand you two flamingo feathers.
"That's too many!" Bridget exclaims
Uliana glares at her. "Does it look like I care?"
You swallow your feathers, giggling back at your friends.
"You're just jealous," She rolls her eyes, following your actions. "Of my beauty."
"You'll regret that," Bridget mumbles.
You and Uliana giggle and cackle, you leaning over her shoulder to look in her portable mirror. You smile, tilting your head as you watch your hair glow a bright pink.
Uliana jumps back, coughing up feathers with a worried, scared look. Her hair also glows pink, the color spreading from the fringe to the occipital rather quickly as she frightfully looks around, seeing all eyes were on her and you.
"You look a little.. pink" Hook giggles.
You begin to do the same, looking back at Hook, unable to call for him as you hack up feather upon feather. You fall to your knees, watching feathers magically grow from your skin, a thick coat of them burying into your flesh.
"Someone should help them!"
Your shaky hands are held in front of your face, you watch as your fingers grow into claws. Hook's expression clearly falters, seeing you watch yourself turn into some hybrid monster.
The laughter fills your ears, the smiles and giggles the only thing your brain would process. They stare at you as you sit hopelessly, watching yourself fall to the magical trickery. You'd never felt more weak. As your reputation quickly drips down the drain, you think of how you wouldn't be feared any longer, how you'd end up becoming a victim to your own creation.
"Yeah, someone should help them" Hades mutters, Maleficent smacking him.
Harry looks between the couple and then at you two, watching Morgie try and help Ulianna up from the ground. He's quickly smacked back, landing on his ass as Uliana rises, showcasing her new face job. Her face represented one of a flamingo, beak and all.
Her screams are turned into bird honks as she quickly chases after Bridget and Ella. She chases them away toward a side yard, the AK's following quickly. Hades and Maleficent shrug, following the crowd. Morgie does the same, breaking into a sprint after watching Red and Chloe chase after Uliana.
Hook rushes to you, paralyzed in fear and embarrassment on the concrete. His hands float over your shoulders, not exactly wanting to touch you.
"Go get them" You snarl, wanting your boyfriend to leave you be.
He quickly nods, rushing after his friends, his heeled boots clicking on the pavement.
Your limbs were coated in feathers, your hands now claws, your hair bright pink. With wide eyes, you stumble over to the fountain in the courtyard, hoping and wishing the magical water would rid you of your now hideous appearance.
Water was your home, maybe even just sitting in it would make you feel slightly okay.
You place your feet in the fountain, drenching your boots. You sit down criss-cross, running your head beneath the running water, a shiver running down your spine as the cold liquid hits your feathered skin.
You feel the feathers fall from your limbs, your skin revealed once again, leaving large dark marks on your skin, like strawberry skin but ten times worse. Your claws shrink back down to your normal hands, your hair's new pink glow fading as it rinses away from your scalp.
"Y/n?" James speaks from behind you, having rushed to your aid after Ulianna fell into the magic spring water pool not far away. "Are you alright, darling?"
"No," you quickly answer, eyebrows furrowed out of your internal anger.
He slowly approaches, trying to bring you away from the fountain, to dry you off at least. "My love-"
"Shut up."
Tumblr media
You lounge in your dorm with James, trying to push your head anywhere that wasn't back earlier in the day. Your head rests on your pillow as you stare at the ceiling, allowing you to count the stars in the night sky through the skylight above your bed.
You wanted to get back at Bridget, but didn't know how.
She subjected you to humiliation, to embarrassment. She wasn't anything, she had to bribe people with food to be her friend. She was a pathetic excuse of life and a waste of space. She'd grow to be nothing-
"I have an idea," James speaks, turning back to look at you on your bed, having been looking out the window.
You turn your head to look at him. "What?"
He slyly smiles, a mischievous look in his eye. "We embarrass her at Castlecoming. She wouldn't miss it for the life of her, we make her fall to the floor, ugly as an ogre."
You blink. "You sound like you're talking about me," you mumble, rolling your eyes as you turn on the bed, your back facing him.
He sighs, pulling you up from the bed. You stand on your feet, your pajamas resting upon your frame as he laces his hand into yours, his hook carefully resting over your shoulder.
"We'll get her back, my lovely siren royalty." He smiles, his eyes gazing upon your lips before looking back at you in the eye. To say he was in love was an understatement. "You know I'd do anything for you, right?"
You lightly smile, glancing down before looking back up at him. "Yeah"
"Good"

sweet like you
pairing: bridget x fem!reader (requested) (note: reader is charming's sister) SUMMARY: you and your pink-haired best friend have your own ways of showing affection. but what will happen if you take things to the next level? GENRE: tooth-rotting fluff, friends to lovers, mutual pining CW: nothing really, reader is down bad, thoughts of loneliness and worries she's not good enough, mouth-watering descriptions of food WC: 7k
A/N: this one was heavily based off of the five love languages! I personally think that bridget shows love by gift giving and quality time (although I am willing to hear people out on this), and reader is words of affirmation and physical touch, with maybe a dash of acts of service. hope you guys enjoy, and thank you to the anon who requested this! please give me feedback and suggestions, I’d love to know your thoughts!
Tumblr media
You fidget nervously, skittishly glancing up at the girl in front of you.
You were so afraid to do it, to maybe ruin what you two already have.
But if you don’t, you’ll be trapped in a life overshadowed by regret, yearning for a love that will forever linger in your heart like a forgotten memory just out of reach, a devotion that has taken root in you so deep you know it is impossible to abandon or ignore.
And with that thought, you gently lean in towards her soft, pink lips.
Tumblr media
“So? How is it?”
The pink-haired girl in front of you stands with her arms hugged to her chest, hands curled in fists that sit right below her chin. She looks at you with an anticipation so potent it's practically overflowing, rocking back and forth in a way that makes you think she’ll combust at any second. Her kind eyes are stretched wide open, staring down your every move as she eagerly awaits your answer.
You take a bite into the freshly baked fruit tart in your hand, the perfectly golden crust and masterful arrangement of strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi slices on top making it look almost too good to eat.
As soon as the flavors make contact with your tongue, you practically melt away at the sweet, delicious taste that graces your tastebuds. The pastry base is like a crisp and delightfully buttery embrace that unifies all the elements, a shell that cradles the flavors with care. The fruits on top are delectable and juicy, the natural sweetness and burst of tang adding a refreshing balance to the sugary taste of the pastry, like little fireworks on your tongue.
Your favorite part, however, is the heavenly vanilla custard filling. It’s smooth and decadent, like diving into a saccharine river of vanilla that glides across your tongue. It’s as if the very essence of pure bliss itself was captured and transformed into a rich, sweet nectar. The cool, silky filling and fresh fruits are delightful in how they contrast the warm, flaky crust, all the ingredients coming together in a harmonious composition of textures and flavors.
Your eyes, which had fluttered closed in sheer ecstasy, open again to see a Bridget that is buzzing with excitement.
Your mouth, still stuffed and chewing, manages to mumble out, “It-it’s incredible," as you cover it with your spare hand—proper etiquette being second nature to you by now—trying to get out the partially coherent words.
Bridget still looks at you with a zealous sparkle in her eyes, expression unchanged and expectant, relentlessly teetering on the balls of her feet like a hummingbird rapidly flapping its wings as it hovers by a flower. Most people would have stopped at the compliment, but you, being a near-professional taste tester from the number of Bridget’s creations that you’ve tried since you met her, have a full evaluation prepared as you swallow.
“The crust is very buttery and just the right amount of crispiness, perfectly balancing out the smooth creaminess of the custard. The fruits add a bit of tartness and a fresh, juicy taste that evens out the sweetness of the rest of the pastry, that could be a bit overwhelming otherwise. As for aesthetics”—you shift around slightly from your position on the edge of her bed, the fluffy pink comforter beneath you practically swallowing you whole—“your placement is very well-done. I would recommend adding a glaze to the fruits, both to make them glossy and to enrich the taste.”
Bridget nods her head fervently, absorbing your every word like your suggestions are an indisputable truth. “I feel like the crust is a bit soggy, too,” she adds, face wrinkled in a frown as she stares at the dessert in your hand.
You look down at your half-bitten treat—its original, untouched beauty now destroyed—in a scrutinizing consideration. “Did you wait for the crust to cool down before adding the filling?” Bridget tilts her head upwards, eyes deep in thought as she looks to the ceiling. “Hmm, now that you mention it, I don’t think I did.”
"That must be the cause." You are certainly no baker yourself, but you’ve had lots of practice critiquing Bridget’s creations to the point where you are highly knowledgeable in the theory of baking. “Still, it is unbelievably delicious.” As if hearing those words for the first time, Bridget’s face lights up, her features all but radiating a brilliant glow as she beams. She clasps her hands together, crying, “Aww, thanks!”
You can’t help but laugh a little—Bridget’s limitless joy is truly contagious. At times like this, when you're staring up at her, gaze swirled with pure adoration and awe as if she's an angel that descended from the heavens in front of your eyes, you start to think just how lucky you are. For once in your life, the strings of fate finally pulled in your favor, crossing your paths with the girl clad in a bright pink dress facing you.
Fate is often cruel to you, like an unrelenting winter wind blowing in your face and biting at your skin, like nature laughing at you as you shiver in raw misery, coldness seeping deep into your bones. A cruel trickster that seems to follow you with malevolent intentions, a vicious smirk painted on its face as it sends every misfortune barreling your way.
You might have been born a royal, a princess that has an unfathomable number of gowns stacked in her closet and an equal number of suitors lined up for her hand. But you aren’t like your brother; you don’t approach groups of strangers and introduce yourself with a wink and an alluring demeanor. He is Prince Charming, after all, which causes you to often ruminate over how accurately your parents named him.
Instead of flashing a winsome smile to every guest at a ball, or every visitor invited to your house, and strike up a conversation with them, you often seek refuge in the quiet expanse of your own room. When required to make an appearance, you prefer to loiter around in the shadows or pass by unseen, like a ghost. This has made you quite the anomaly in the royal world; everyone always whispers behind covered hands and in hushed voices, spreading rumors and wildly speculating about why the princess of such a gregarious family never makes a presence of herself publicly.
And it’s the same at school. Bridget, like your brother, will approach absolutely anyone with a smile gracing her features and kind eyes crinkled in the corners, oftentimes with a home-baked treat in hand. She has countless friends, many random people she mentions or smiles at in the hallways that you’ve never even seen before. She’s never had to worry about finding a partner in class, never avoided eye contact in a crowd of people she didn’t know, never sat watching other people’s carefree conversations with the weight of being an outsider, always looking in through the glass of isolation keeping you from them.
Which is why, to this day, in moments like these, you question whether fate has made a mistake of some sort—maybe jumbled up different karmic ties or gotten confused with names when it came time to draw people’s futures. Or, your biggest fear, is that this is all some elaborate plan, a puzzle piece in destiny’s plan to make your life as ill-fortuned as possible.
In times like this one, you peer up at Bridget and wonder, why in the world, out of her multitude of friends, did she decide to spend the most time with you? To dub you her “best friend”, if you will.
Bridget had noticed your solitary manners a long time ago—like a magnet, she’s drawn to the people who are most in need of a friend, the most ostracized of the outcasts. And so, she had patiently sat with you every day, struck up a conversation even when you gave her the shortest answers possible that were still deemed polite, and attempted to make plans with you, although you always tried to cover up your outlandish excuses with gracious thank-yous.
Over time, the girl with the bright eyes and unfaltering smile finally wore you down, until you began sitting next to her yourself, began looking forward to your idle conversations, and even sought to spend as much time with her as possible. In fact, you spend more time at her dorm than you do yours; neither of you have roommates, so the only time you go back to your room is to get into bed. Besides that, you spend every waking moment basking in Bridget’s cheery presence, so much so that half your belongings are scattered on her floor (your doing), or neatly tucked away in a drawer (her tidying up after you leave).
Your relationship grew to a point where you began to know Bridget well enough that you couldn't keep denying the way she seemed to know everyone, and on a rather personal basis as well. How she had a party or event she was invited to every weekend, or how she had an entire roster of people willing to help her at the smallest of notices anytime she needed a favor. Sure, she may not seem like the “popular” sort, which had definitely deceived you as well when you first met her, but she was definitely well-known and especially well-liked.
So you found yourself many a night sitting on her bed—as you are now—looking at the stack of pretentious letters and notes, carefully placed in ostentatious envelopes with cloyingly ornate lettering, wondering what about you made Bridget seek you out. And that’s when you first thought of it. Maybe, just maybe, she didn’t actually like you.
And once that thought popped in your mind, once it was planted and dug its roots in your brain, it grew rapidly, spreading uncontrollably like a weed that was left unchecked for a bit too long. Bridget probably only talked to you in the beginning just to be nice, the intrusive, unwanted voice hissed in your mind. She didn’t really like you. And now you keep on leeching onto her, and she’s way too nice to say she finds you annoying.
Fueled by your disbelief that anyone, especially someone with as many options as Bridget, would actively want to spend their time with you, you started to believe that Bridget was only entertaining you out of required courtesy. And so, you tried spending less time with her after that, building up your walls again and shutting her out; suddenly, you didn’t approach her in the hallways anymore, were always too busy “studying” to hang out in her room, and your long rants about various, trivial topics were reduced to simple, curt responses.
But Bridget persisted, always choosing you amidst a myriad of familiar faces beckoning her over. She still wanted to make plans with you, still left you treats outside your door to taste test. And so, with a hesitant uncertainty, only brought out by your crippling fear and burning shame at the possibility of even coming close to hurting Bridget’s feelings from your cold actions, you decided that she might actually want to be with you, of her own free will.
That night, you had thanked her for being such a good friend to you. She replied as sweetly and modestly as ever (“Oh, it’s nothing! Don’t even mention it.”). When you brought up how you wouldn’t have any friends if not for her choosing to persistently break down your walls, as you are undeniably terrible at making friends, she had simply told you that your style of befriending people was to wait for them to approach you first, whilst her style was to approach them first.
She had pointed out, with a compassionate wrinkle in her brow, that with your way, at least you could be certain that whoever cared enough about you to initiate something and work towards befriending you probably had genuine intentions, which was a drawback of becoming friends with just anyone, like she did—you never who truly likes you, and who’s plotting to stab you in the back. You kept your mouth shut that night, but you really couldn’t help but think if that were true, then did that mean that the only person with genuine intentions towards you in the entire school was Bridget herself?
Fate, you decided, is certainly an interesting character.
“Maybe I should make another batch.” Bridget’s musings draw you back to the present, where she now stands with a bitten fruit tart in her hand and two unoccupied cavities in the tray she had baked them in. “I was thinking of handing these out to my History of World Magic class tomorrow, but they aren’t very good…” She frowns again as she looks down at her pastry, as if furrowing her brow and staring intensely at it can miraculously fix it, or at least give her some insight into discerning what to improve.
“Bridget.” You push up off the bed, taking a step towards her and placing a firm hand on her shoulder. “You don’t have to make another batch. These ones are already great.”
Abruptly, you swoop in towards her opposite hand, stealing a bite from her already partially eaten dessert. You chew with a smile on your face as you look at Bridget’s slightly startled expression, commenting, “See? This one is just as good as the other one.”
Bridget remains frozen for a moment, her forehead still puckered, before she relents into a soft grin. “Alright, then. If you say so. I guess they are alright.”
“That’s the spirit.” You let go of her shoulder, now leisurely strolling around the room, eyeing the various objects neatly placed on her furniture. Eyes scanning over each item, your hand subconsciously reaches out, fingertips languidly brushing along her possessions as if soaking up her essence. “About History, I’m so unprepared for that test we have coming up. Ugh, who even assigns that much work? Especially since Mr. Poirier already grades so harshly. Like, last test, he marked me down because I only gave three examples of goblin strikes in the past century out of the five he taught. I mean, you can’t mark someone down if you never said how many examples to give! He’s so unfai—”
Your voice cuts off as your eyes snag on a collection of objects on Bridget's desk that weren’t there before, an assortment of various tools and materials that when combined appear to belong to a crafting set: multicolored beads, tubes of sparkly glitter, delicate metal chains, a set of pliers, and a bright pink vial of glue.
“What are these?” you ask curiously, leaning in closer with a furrowed brow as you inspect the items on the desk, trying to make out what they are, or rather, what they are going to be made into.
“Ah! It’s nothing!” Bridget squeals, rushing over and throwing a spare blanket over the desk before you can take a closer look.
You spin around to face her, a frown etched into your features. “If it’s nothing, then why are you hiding it?”
“It’s not important!”
“You know you’re only making me want to know even more.”
“It’s really nothing! Just don’t think about it.”
You lift your hand, inching it closer to the draped cloth. “I’m thinking about it,” you tease, playfully moving your arm at a gradual, yet deliberate, pace towards the desk. “Still thinking about it. I’m getting closer, closer, closer…”
Just as your fingers are about to make contact with the blanket to pull it off, Bridget lurches forward, taking your troublesome hand in hers as she leads you away, towards the other side of the room with a nervous giggle.
“Come on!” you exclaim with a huff. “What’s so bad about what you’re doing that you don’t want to show me?”
“It’s not bad!” Bridget counters. “It’s just…look, you’ll find out what it is soon. Just give me some time, okay?”
“Hmm…” you hum, glancing upwards with faux consideration. “I don’t know if I’ll be able to wait that long.” A small, cheeky grin dances on your face as you try to conceal it with a feigned pout.
Bridget shoots you a look, a small smile finally spreading across her lips. “What were we talking about again? That’s right, History of World Magic. So, what were you saying?”
You notice the sudden—and rather forced—attempt to change the subject, but ultimately decide to brush it off. “Yeah, I was saying how Mr. Poirier is so unfair when it comes to grading! And his tests are always so hard. Like, seriously, he makes up test questions that he never even talked about during class. He just expects us to memorize the whole textbook or something.”
Bridget gives a small, rueful shrug. “Well, I guess he just wants us to learn the information well.” You shoot her a sharp look, one that screams "Seriously? You’re defending him?"
“Hey, I have an idea!" Bridget exclaims, eyes lighting up again. "How about tomorrow, after school, we go to the library and study for the test? With both our minds put together, we’re a lot less likely to miss something. After all, two heads are better than one. You aren’t busy or anything, right?”
You shake your head no, although it does pass your mind how Bridget must already know that you never have any plans besides the ones she makes with you. “‘Kay, study session tomorrow sounds good. Although we’re probably going to be there till midnight. I mean, seriously, who assigns one test on four different chapters?”
Just as you launch into yet another rant about your insensitive teacher whom you practically despise at this point, a deep, low horn sounds from somewhere out in the hallway, reverberating against the walls.
Both you and Bridget glance up at the clock on her wall, which is custom-made in the shape of a pink heart surrounded by a white rim, now with its glittery hands pointing at ten and twelve.
“How is it curfew already?” you groan, rolling your eyes. “Guess I have to head back to my room.” Many times, you’ve contemplated requesting to move in with Bridget, so you two can officially be roommates. After all, you practically are, with the way that people always knock on Bridget’s door first when asking for you (although that seldom happens, and the few rare times it has, it’s always been on a teacher’s behest). But every time you start to consider it, your mind plummets back into that dark place, the belief rooted deep into your consciousness whispering that you’d just burden Bridget with your inescapable presence and occupied space.
“Aw, well, I’ll see you tomorrow in class! And at the library!” Bridget says as she walks you to the door, her constant smiling shining through once again.
You both bid each other goodnight, and as you walk the familiar solitary path back to your room, the absence of Bridget’s cheerful and bright energy is achingly present. It’s as if a piece of you was stripped away, torn from your very being and leaving you numb and hollow, merely a void of fleeting emotions just out of your grasp. Like the sun disappearing during an eclipse, leaving everyone shrouded in darkness as they await its return, you feel as though your very liveliness is missing from you. You glide down the hallways soundlessly like a ghost, your body nothing more than a shell of the exuberance brought out by the girl who’s constantly emanating pure, unbridled positivity.
Despite your feelings of emptiness, a soft ray of warmth settles onto your soul as memories of the evening, and every other moment you spent in Bridget’s company, replay in your mind. You still hear her melodious laugh, still see the bright sparkle in her eyes only displayed in someone who has not yet been dulled by the merciless, unsparing nature of the world.
Even though she’s not there, you still feel as though she is, carrying a piece of her deep in your heart while you reminisce over your memories, as you always do when you’re in the quiet loneliness of your own company. Even though she’s not there, your heart races at the mere thought of her: her gaze as she listens intently to what you have to say, the way her arms wrap around your torso and how her hair tickles your neck as she gives you a tight, enthusiastic hug.
Even though she’s not there, a shadow of her presence forever lingers in your heart and mind, leaving you yearning to bask in her warm glow again.

You step into the library the next day, after the final bell dismisses you from your last lesson. The library is one of your favorite places in the entire school—aside from Bridget’s room, of course. The peaceful retreat of the rows of dusty shelves and worn, rickety tables is unmatched. The tranquility of the gentle silence that always covers the area like a blanket, the smell of weathered books holding untold quantities of knowledge soothing you with the smallest whiff. Whenever you step across that threshold, it’s like being taken into a different dimension, one with fewer heavy burdens weighing down your shoulders and more blissful ease, a feeling one only reaches when in an untroubled state of mind.
No one looks at you as you walk in, not even sparing a single glance or the slightest movement that acknowledges your arrival. Not that that’s an unusual feeling for you.
You make your way down the aisles of books to your usual table, where you and Bridget always sit, standing in a secluded corner. The book bag slung over your shoulder is weighed down with all the books and notes stuffed into it, causing your arm to ache with strain. Grimacing as the hemp strap painfully digs into your shoulder, certainly leaving a mark that you’ll discover later, you mentally hurl a few obscenities at your teacher for his absurd teaching methods that make your bag so heavy.
However, as you move towards the table, you can see that there’s already some foreign object placed on top of it. A shocked, annoyed anger sizzles inside of you, vexation pumping through your veins at the thought of someone stealing your table. Sure, it doesn’t actually belong to you, and everyone has an equal right to choose any seat they desire, but it’s still your preferred spot and any other one would feel disconcerting and out of place.
As you near, now silently directing your colorful words towards the table thief, you begin to notice that no one else is around; nor do you see any materials on the table besides the peculiar item, which appears to be a small plastic container.
You approach the box, noticing that there’s a small, fuchsia-colored note stuck to the top as you get closer. Instantly, you recognize the handwriting, the half-cursive swirls and loops paired with the little hearts topping all the i’s instead of dots engraved into your brain.
“Dear Y/N,
I’m so so sooo sorry, but someone had an emergency and I had to go help them! I feel really bad for leaving you, and I promise I’ll make it up to you!
For now, I made you some treats as an apology (and to help make studying a little more bearable). Sorry again! I hope you enjoy them!
Love always,
Bridget
You smile at the little heart drawn next to her name, a staple of her signature. Opening the lid of the container, you see that sure enough, it’s stocked with plenty of macarons, a multitude of colors and flavors beckoning at you to try them.
You sigh as you grab a chair to sit in, the small wave of relief that washes over you soon overshadowed by the returning feeling of loneliness, rekindling inside of you like a greeting from an old friend you haven’t seen in a while. You reside in its arms with a comfort brought not by the warmth of a tender hug that soothes your pain and fills the hollow void residing in you, but instead by the ease of familiarity, the peace obtained when the outcome is a cruel one, yet one you foresaw. The security granted by basking in the solace of numbing arms wrapped around you, the feeling of being all alone and undesired, unwanted, something you’ve grown all too accustomed to.
Once again, you’re given a painful reminder of how popular Bridget is, how many other friends she has. How at the end of the day, you're simply an option, a choice she chooses to make. One that she can always change in the blink of an eye.
But you know that you can’t really be disappointed or feel so rejected because of this. After all, it's not like you can expect her to not have a life outside of you—ignoring the fact that you don’t really have a life outside of her. It would be selfish of you to want her to yourself all the time, right?
Readjusting your chair closer to the table, you remind yourself that it’s nice enough of her to even remember your plans, much less take the time to stop by here and leave you a note explaining her absence, in addition to a sweet—both figuratively and literally—gift. She could have just forsaken you with no note, no warning. But then again, that’s simply not the type of person Bridget is. If she knew just how much her presence affects you, how she fills your days with a joy, a happiness so pure and unparalleled by everything and everyone else, you’re almost certain she’d never leave your side again.
To her, you’re just another friend, someone she enjoys seeing. To you, she’s your sun, the very being you revolve around and depend on to survive.
She truly is your everything.
The mouthwatering macarons eyeing you through the clear plastic invite you to take a bite, and you indulge yourself as you rip off the lid and relish in the soft crunch of the outer layers and the smooth flavors bursting within, reminding you of something akin to a dessert sandwich.
After munching on quite a few of them—you simply couldn’t help yourself, they were absolutely delicious—you begrudgingly heave your bag onto the table, pulling out the materials you so diligently packed.
You crack open your textbook to the first chapter, then your notebook to the first blank page. Ripping a sheet out from the spine, you place it down next to your notes. Every time you write something in your notebook, you copy it down on the empty page.
After all, you couldn’t let Bridget’s kindhearted nature get in the way of her good grades. Even if it did mean more grueling work on your part.
For her, you are willing to do anything. Just to see her beam at you again with those rosy lips, the sparkle in her eyes twinkling brightly at you. Reminding you that you’re the cause behind her happiness.
No matter the cost for you.

The sea of faces and bodies in front of you is slightly overwhelming, blurred flashes passing you as you struggle to find your way through the crowd. But then, your eyes snatch on a head of pink curls bouncing up and down animatedly, and instantly, you’re washed over with a wave of relief. Slipping through the cracks between the meandering crowd, you make your way over to the table Bridget is sitting at today in the Dining Hall.
“Hey,” you say gingerly, placing a hand on her shoulder to get her attention as you approach her from behind.
Bridget twists her head back, face visibly lighting up at the sight of you. “Y/N!” she exclaims, scooting over and excitedly patting the space next to her.
You take your seat, turning to face her. “Uh, so, about yesterday…”
Your plan was to thank her for the macarons and the thoughtful note, but before you get the chance, her eyes widen at your words as her face erupts in a look of deep penitence. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! Fay was trying a new spell and accidentally burned half her hair off…” Her face contorts to a look of serious shock and concern, probably reimagining the scene.
“I know that’s no excuse though! I felt so bad for bailing on you, that I stayed up all last night just to finish this…”
She turns around and bends over her seat, reaching into her bag on the floor. She grabs something, then twists back around to you, clutching the mysterious object tightly in her hand.
“Close your eyes and hold out your hands!” she instructs, vibrant with pulsating enthusiasm. A bit tentatively, you do as she says, putting your cupped palm out in front of you as you shut your eyes.
You feel a small, very solid object get placed in your hands (So not a new dessert to try, you think with only the slightest tinge of disappointment). But that all dissipates as soon as Bridget exclaims, “You can open them now!”
Your eyes flutter open, gaze pointed downwards towards your palms. Immediately, a tender surge of awe floods your heart, making its pace quicken as it beats rapidly. Your heart throbs with such a profound gratitude you worry it’s going to burst any second from how touched you feel.
You pick up the chain placed in your cupped hands, an elated smile breaking through as you take in the bracelet Bridget gave you. Decorated with numerous charms, you take the time to study all of them carefully, running your fingers over the meticulous hand-crafted details as you realize the significance of each one.
They’re not random designs chosen simply for aesthetic purposes; no, each one resembles something, either about you or your relationship with Bridget. A clear-cut gemstone of your favorite color placed next to a small depiction of your favorite animal both hang off the chain. Then there’s a metallic red apple symbolizing the one time you two went apple picking at an orchard; a little set of playing cards with the same design at the deck she used when she first taught you how to play; a small face of a gray kitten with white whiskers, resembling the one you two saved from an incredibly high and strangely twisted tree the first time you visited Wonderland.
Nevertheless, the finest of them all is the pink, glittery heart that sits right in the middle. Embellished on its surface is a fancy cursive B next to your first initial, conjoined with a small plus sign.
An everlasting symbol of your intimate bond.
Your mouth is fully agape, eyes round as saucers and eyebrows arched in a mix of nearly tangible astonishment and disbelief as you turn the bracelet around in your hands over and over, examining each charm with a sharp, precise eye. Bridget sits in quiet anticipation, holding her breath as she awaits any kind of reaction that can give her even a glimmer of an idea as to how you feel.
“Remember when you were asking me about the stuff on my desk the other day and I said I'd show you soon?” she asks, breaking the thick silence that has grown to be unbearable for her. “Well, I was working on this as a surprise for you. And, I mean, I felt so bad for leaving you yesterday that I wanted to give it to you today as a little apology.”
Your gaze finally breaks away from the bracelet, meeting Bridget’s jittery eyes. Before she can even process what’s happening, the next thing she knows you’ve lurched forward, arms wrapping so tightly around her body that she struggles to even breathe.
After she gets over the initial wave of shock, Bridget’s wide eyes melt into a compassionate smile, returning the embrace. You hug her firmly, getting lost in the moment and not letting go until you hear a little, “I can’t breathe,” paired with a soft tap on your back, drawing you out of your daze as you realize you’re practically smothering her.
“Oh! I-I’m sorry!” you exclaim, drawing back quickly and examining her figure with knitted brows, making sure she’s alright. “I just…I love it so much! It’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever given me!”
Bridget gives a bubbly laugh, eyes matching her grin as she says, “Oh, it really was nothing. I mean, you’re a princess. I’m sure you’ve gotten much nicer things.”
Smiling, you don’t mention how even the most lavish of luxuries, the most exorbitant of material goods only the finest money can buy, all pale into nonexistence when compared to her gift. The thought, the care, the hours of painstaking work and dedicated moments spent carefully crafting, all for you, is simply unfathomable and impossible to match. You may be holding a small bracelet worth not even a tenth of the simplest of rings you normally get gifted by your family, but to you, it’s worth more than every mansion and diamond in the whole world.
You shake your head left and right, tears of joy brimming and threatening to spill as you lean into Bridget for yet another hug (this time making sure not to squeeze her quite so hard). You know that later, you’ll probably lie in bed and wince at your brashness in this moment, hands covering your flustered face as you toss and turn in embarrassment—but for right now, you’re too swept up in your emotions to care.
“Oh! I almost forgot,” you exclaim, pulling away once again to reach into your bag this time. Retrieving a stack of papers neatly stapled, with lines and lines of orderly notes written in meticulous handwriting, you hand them to Bridget. “I figured since you probably wouldn’t have the time to take notes for the test, I took them for you.”
This time, it’s Bridget’s turn to be flustered from your benevolent gesture. “You really didn’t have to!” she cries, a stunned expression painted on her face as she flips through the numerous pages of detailed notes. She peers back up to meet your gaze with a swirl of shock and delight, her gently creased eyes and the lines on her forehead displaying her inner thoughts. Bridget often wears her emotions on her sleeve, and from sharing countless hours with her, you’ve learned to interpret her facial expressions so well you can practically read her mind. And through her gaze, you can see how she’s in disbelief at the thought that, despite your hatred for the subject and assignment—which you made very well-known—you still spent twice the time you had to on it, just for her.
“Well, I guess we’re even now,” you casually add, saving Bridget from having to formulate a response—you can clearly tell she’s having difficulty putting her emotions into words.
She shakes her head ardently from side to side, her springy curls bouncing vibrantly. “No, we still lost the time we were supposed to spend together! And I did promise I’d make it up to you.”
Before you can open your mouth to tell her that she’d made it up plenty, her head swivels to the side. You follow her gaze to a wide window a few meters away, the bright rays of sun poking out through the clouds and casting golden stripes on the table in front of you.
Her head snaps back towards you, the light in her eyes burning bright as she enthusiastically suggests, “I heard the weather is really nice this weekend! How about we go on a picnic?”
“A picnic?” you repeat inquisitively. You don’t know what you were expecting, but this certainly surprised you.
“Yeah!” Bridget’s talking quickens, the glimmer in her eyes shining brighter as she continues while the vague idea solidifies in her mind. “It’ll be a lot more fun than another study session. I can make the food and you can bring the stuff! The fields just south of here are a popular spot. It’s going to be so much fun!”
She squeals as she claps her hands together. You match her smile, her enthusiasm once again infecting you. “Picnic it is, then,” you reply, grinning as she beams at your approval.
A subtle sigh slips past your lips, unnoticed by Bridget. The same way you always wish she didn’t miss how you look at her, pure adoration and devotion mirrored in your gaze, staring at her as if she created the skies and stars with her own two hands. Which she really did—at least in your universe.
Tumblr media
A soft breeze blows against your face, tenderly caressing your cheeks as leaves rustle overhead, whispering to the wind of secrets unheard. The sky is a clear, vibrant blue, all but a few clouds lazily drifting by. Sunshine filters through the branches, casting dappled patterns of light over the checkered blanket beneath you. Birds somewhere in the treetops chatter and sing their pleasing songs, weaving a tapestry of notes that paint the horizon with harmonious brushstrokes. The grass sways gently, mirroring the serene breathing of the landscape.
Everything is tranquil, from the fluttering of butterfly wings to the laughter that sounds from pink lips, like the most melodious of music to your ears. The conversation isn’t that important to you; trivial, inconsequential topics that you really couldn’t care less for. But what truly matters is the way her eyes fill with the purest of sparkles, the way she doubles over as she giggles, the breeze brushing her captivatingly gorgeous curls out of her face.
There’s nothing in the world you would trade for this moment, this sliver in time where you are completely at peace. Where not a single care or worry can reach you, not when the only thing on your mind is how much your heart swells with pure affection, how simply perfect the girl in front of you is.
After she manages to catch her breath from laughing, Bridget meets your gaze—one that is directed at her, but isn’t really looking at her. Your eyes are distant, the unwavering smile on your speaking volumes of emotions.
“Those sandwiches were really good, weren’t they?” she asks you, referring to the special-made lunch that you two had just finished.
You nod, still grinning at her with a persistent gaze. “They were great, Bridget. Nothing that you make could ever taste anything less than delicious.”
She blushes, swatting at your arm playfully. “Hey, that’s not true!”
You laugh, sitting up from how you were previously lying on your back. Catching Bridget’s hand in midair, you reply, “Well, it is, because I don’t lie.”
“Oh? Since when?” she asks, mirth dancing on her features.
“Since always.” You feign annoyance at her accusations, your smile still shining through.
“Ah! Speaking of food, I have something special for you.”
You hum in surprise, watching as Bridget reaches over to your woven picnic basket. She shuffles closer to you, to the point where her knees almost brush against your thigh, with how she’s sitting cross-legged and you with your legs outstretched whilst leaning on one arm.
Opening the lid, her hand disappears inside for a moment before reemerging with a singular cupcake, topped with a swirly pastel pink frosting and decorated with small sprinkles in shades of white and red.
“This is a new recipe,” she explains, holding the treat out to you. “I made it with this super rare flower essence, shipped straight from Wonderland. Let’s just say I gave the batter a lick, and I think it’s my best creation yet.”
“You haven’t tried it yet?” you ask, moving to sit in a position similar to Bridget’s as you accept the dessert.
“Nope! I wanted you to have the first bite.”
Your smile only grows wider, now stretching from ear to ear, an undeniable sense of glee emanating from you. You’d normally argue with her, telling her that she really didn’t need to do something like this. But from all those failed attempts you’ve only learned that Bridget never listens, always putting you first time and time again. So, this time, you simply take a bite, nearly melting away again as the flavors hit.
The frosting has a sugary, saccharine taste, the sprinkles adding a delightfully contrasting texture to the creamy richness of the pink swirl. The cake below it is soft and moist, as if eating a fluffy cloud. The vanilla flavor is smooth, an undercurrent that balances out the sweetness. There’s a slight twinge from a distinct flavor as well, something you’ve never tasted and can’t quite put your finger on. The same way that coffee elevates the taste of chocolate, this special ingredient brings out the sweetness of the vanilla, balancing out the sugar of the frosting. Every mouthful is incredibly light and absolutely delectable, making each moment it graces your taste buds feel like an indulgent bite of heaven.
“So? How is it?” Bridget asks as your eyes swiftly open. Her anticipation lingers in the air, along with your awaited response.
But you barely hear her words, too focused on how the color of the frosting perfectly matches her delicate, roseate lips. They’re so gentle, yet lush, almost forming the most endearing of pouts.
Eyes darting from her eyes, to her lips, back up to her wide, doe eyes again, you throw caution to the wind and spring forward. Your hands move in front of you, supporting your weight as you lean in.
Your lips make contact with her velvety ones, which are even smoother than you imagined. A stolen kiss, lasting but a moment, yet enwrapped by the tender caress of your mouth, the purest of affections seeping in as you hold her lips between yours, then draw back for the briefest pause.
Eyes locked with her wide, expressive ones as you linger a mere inch away from her face, you respond to her earlier question.
“Delicious and incredibly sweet. Just like you.”

ChordStriker!AU Q&A
I'm doing a bit of a Q&A about my ChordStriker!AU on insta after sharing this teaser WIP, so I figured I'd present some of the questions here! (Feel free to ask more btw!)
Tumblr media
↓↓↓
Rock!Poppy
Q: "Is Poppy's family (Peppy & Viva) still with her since the Bergens didn't attack them?"
A: Peppy is with her, but he is confused/in mental decline like canon King Thrash was. Viva is missing. Poppy was old enough to remember her.
Q: "Will Viva play somewhat of a role in this AU?"
A: Yes, she's had a much bigger impact on Poppy's life, even till this day even though she's been missing for many years now. Poppy has never stopped looking for her.
Q: "Is King Peppy still a liar in your AU?"
A: Nah, he's normal. Sometimes hating him with my entire being is hard, so he gets to be a good dad this time. He's just not all there mentally so Poppy is more like his caretaker now.
Q: "Poppy's relationships don't last long because she gets bored... So how long is Branch going to last?"
A: The Rat Pack (Snack Pack) is wondering the same thing, but Poppy's never used the bf/gf/partner labels before meeting him which is strange... 👀
Q: "Does Poppy still party?"
A: She's a total party animal! Her parties are even more intense than a Pop Troll party since Rock Trolls are pretty extreme. LOL
---
Pop!Barb (Barbie)
Q: "What does Barb look like?"
A: For now, this is her design, it might change once I have time to draw her digitally.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Q: "Does this mean Barb has to go through the events of Trolls 1?"
A: Nope, Barb never befriends Bridget because they have never met. They have found a way to remain undetected in the forest. (Thanks to Branch’s constant nagging about safety)
Q: "How does Barb's gang look? Is there any significant differences in their dynamics?"
A: I haven't had time to finish them all, but here's some of them for now. There's more members of The Lunch Rush, but this is all I have for now!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Val Thundershock → Valentina Wondershock.
Only Queen Barbie calls her Val. She is very optimistic & loves to sing & dance! She's Barbie’s right-hand troll, BFFL & knows everything about her. They have a very... "close" relationship. ;] She's a popstar who's managed by Demo and loves to help make Pop Village a happier place.
Riff
He's a university student studying to be an engineer. He's very soft spoken, doesn't like to make a fuss and is probably the nicest guy around. He's quite close to Barbie and sees her as an older sister. He's actually on friendly terms with Branch. His favorite treat is lollipops. 🍭
Carol
But you can call her Carrie! Everyone does. She's a bit of a diva, loves to look good & dull things bore her. She will ignore anything that doesn't catch her eye, even trolls. Best to be looking your very best!
Sid Fret
Just call him Sid, no need to be so formal. He is every trolls dream guy and he knows it! He's a great roller derby racer and loves the attention trolls give him. Sure, he's a little self-absorbed, but he's a very loyal friend.
Demo
Not much has changed about Demo. He's perfect as he is <3 He's just a little more excitable & cutesy than before. He cares about Valentina a lot & they are very close friends.
Petra
She is the blueprint, she's the moment, she's everything. A model, actress, singer, you name it, she can do it. She's perfect... Who doesn't want to be her?
---
Branch
Q: "How different is Branch in this AU vs canon Branch?"
A: He is the same Branch essentially, just without the development he gains at the end of Trolls 1 & so-on. None of it occurred, so he is still grey, miserable & a recluse. He helped Barb to come up with a plan to keep everyone safe after nagging & warning her for ages, but after that, he returned to his bunker & is still not well-liked by the village.
Q: "Does she know Branch's whole past? If she does, what was her reaction?"
A: Not sure if you meant Barb or Poppy, so I'll answer for both. Barb—no. I don't think she'd ever find out, and she's also not the type to ask. Their personalities clash a bit too much, she stays out of his way like he asks her to.
For Poppy—I think it would come up naturally in conversation after a while when Branch feels more comfortable sharing. Poppy isn't the type to pry, but makes it clear that it's out of understanding, not a lack of caring. She can tell that he is closed off for a reason. She relates to that. I think she'd be beyond pissed once he told her, though.
Q: "Will Branch's brothers be in this?"
A: Yes, but Floyd will be getting the bigger role this time.
Q: "How quickly does Branch fall for Poppy? I'm sure the answer is yes, but is he happy?"
A: I'd say he's quite guarded in the beginning. He is cautious around her for the first few weeks, but he starts to come around once he picks up on Poppy being emotionally guarded herself.
Things move quickly once their walls come down around each other, & a mutual understanding is there. Poppy fell for him first. (At least, that's what Branch lets her believe, as it was love at first sight for him, but he'd never tell her that; she'd get a big head about it.)

Guys what if I did a thing.
Biker!Red and Rich Girl!Chloe au
TW just in case: Implied/referenced child abuse, implied/referenced gun violence, minor descriptions of injuries.
-
The Isle and Auradon are two neighbourhoods, separated because Auradon's mayor, Beast, doesn't trust a single person in the Isle.
Chloe is a part of the Charming Family, owners of the most successful company in Auradon. However, she doesn't want to be. She loathes the idea of everyone treating her like a dumb little rich girl who isn't capable of taking care of herself.
So, she sneaks out.
She secretly goes to parties in the Isle almost every night, craving the adrenaline rush that comes with disobeying her parents. But one night, Chloe gets a Iittle too bold.
She drinks too much, and before she could even blink, some random dude was pinning her to the wall of a secluded hallway, and touching her a little too confidently.
Enter Red.
She has been here for a whole excruciating hour, pointedly avoiding her mother while also working out a money deal for her. She was waiting for the guy to come when she heard a hushed argument coming from a nearby hallway.
As soon as she sees what's going on, Red threatens the guy to let go, and he only does so when she flashes the revolver tucked in her pants.
All Chloe can do is stare up at her saviour as she asks if she's okay, too drunk and gay to say anything. Chloe calls her brother, Chad, to pick her up since he's the only person who knows about her nightly endeavours.
The two talk for a bit, and Chloe finds out that maybe she isn't as educated on the world as she thought she was.
She finds out that everyone in the Isle is suffering, whether it be horrible living conditions, gun violence, abusive home situations, or anything else.
As the mysterious (and very attractive) biker walks away, she recognises the symbol on the back of her black leather jacket.
The Wonderland Gang.
An infamous biker gang that meddled in illegal activities, but the cops were too scared of them to do anything.
Red's mother, Bridget, was the leader is this gang, known by everyone else as the Queen of Hearts.
Contrary to popular belief, Bridget was actually a good mother. She and Red just didn't see eye to eye on most things, and then there was also the responsibility of keeping up their reputation.
Chloe didn't dare tell her parents about her encounter with the biker, knowing they would most likely never let her out of the house again. So, she simply tried to forget about it.
That didn't work, obviously.
She kept having dreams about the girl, it seemed like she couldn't get her out of her head. Her brother was too smug as he watched her fall apart, knowing exactly how uselessly gay his sister was.
A painful week later, as she was walking home from another night out, her wishes were answered.
She heard someone coughing in an alleyway. The coughs sounded like a wet gurgle, making Chloe sick to her stomach. She looked for the person frantically, and eventually found them slumped over a dumpster.
Lo and behold, it was her.
Her face was badly bruised, and with the way she held herself, Chloe guessed her ribs were, too.
She immediately got her out of the alley, and walked her to her house. Initially, her parents were hesitant, but after seeing the state Red was in, they knew she needed help.
Red woke up the next day in Chloe's bed, panicked and wary.
Chloe calmed her down and explained the situation, to which Red replied that she had to go or her mother would kill her.
Chloe didn't want to let her go - whether it was because she was still injured, or because she simply liked her presence, she didn't know - but Red couldn't be stopped. As she was about to hop out of the window and climb down to the ground, she gave Chloe one last look.
"The name's Red, by the way."
-
Aaaand, that's all I got! Obviously, I'm not guaranteeing that I'm gonna write this, since school is starting very soon, but if enough people beg me, I might try something. Hope you enjoyed this!

VKS try to sabotage castle coming but the reader eats the cupcake instead and Hook is the only one to care enough to check on you
PINK MAKEUP | JAMES HOOK
summary: you are very positive for a VK and you fall for the prank that Uliana planned for Bridget, with Hook being the only one who cares to know if everything is in order pairing: James Hook x gn!royal!reader warning: panic attacks, insecurities, teasing, social pressure, social anxiety a/n: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SUPPORT I LOVE RECEIVING REQUESTS ❤
Tumblr media
You were really very happy and excited about the dance, even though you weren't invited, maybe it wasn't so much because of the dance itself but because you had a splendid outfit that you were going to show off. You really cared about your physique.
One day before the dance, you were in your room trying out the possible hairstyles you would do once you were in your costume. You were leaning on your mirror table when someone knocked on your door.
"Happens." You said calmly, your tranquility being interrupted by the VK group without Uliana; Morgie, Hades, Maleficent and Hook.
Maybe I didn't say it but you were part of their group, even though you were part of royalty, you were very good at manipulating and you used your physique to your advantage, but you were a good person in everything.
“Sorry for arriving unannounced.” Maleficent announced without much importance as she entered your room.
“Oh, Mali, it's good that you came!” You downplayed what she said, moving closer to her. “Can you help me with my hair?”
“Are you still excited about dancing?” Hades asked.
“Yes, it's really going to be a great night.” You answered confidently as the only girl in the room ran her hands through your hair in thought.
"You have a couple?" Morgie asked innocently as he grabbed your things without permission. You shake your head. “Hook, you should invite them.” He whispered not so quietly.
Luckily for both of them, you were too focused on Maleficent's recommendations to hear what they were saying.
“No, you know I wouldn't have a chance.” He responded in the same whisper, only lower.
Hook let out a soft sigh of resignation, watching you carefully as you spoke excitedly with Maleficent and melting every time you smiled or made faces that were too adorable in his opinion. Morgie tapped him on the shoulder to stop him from looking so attentive and to at least hide his obvious infatuation.
Tumblr media
Maleficent was standing behind you as you sat on your vanity chair, combing your hair and placing pins where needed so it would hold until the end of the night. You smiled as you looked at your hairstyle.
“I love it!” You turned around, standing up and hugging her. “Thank you.”
“It’s nothing, if I spent one more moment near Uliana planning today’s prank I was going to go crazy.”
“Don’t worry.” You took her hands. “Are the boys ready yet?”
“Do you want to go with them?” She raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah, nevermind.” You rolled your eyes a little.
“Come on, we have to be with them at the time of the prank.” She smiled mischievously and laughed somewhat sinisterly, taking your hand and leaving the room.
It was a shame you didn't notice the kind of look Hook gave you when they arrived with the rest of VK, he looked so absolutely in love that Hades had to hit him so he wouldn't start drooling in front of everyone.
Hades and Maleficent were going to be together, Morgie was going to eat, Uliana was going especially for the joke and Hook and you were wasting their time, plus him. You were determined to flirt with someone who would invite you to dance and show off how splendid you looked.
Two hours had passed, the night was threatening and boring for those who didn't do anything special, like you now. You were sitting on one of the benches in the place, you had already let down your hair and played with the hair clips in your fingers and your tired look. You felt the disappointment caress your skin, making you think about leaving. Maybe you should.
You began to walk towards the exit, dodging people regardless of what they answered or how they reacted. Unfortunately, a few meters from the exit you stole a cake from someone's hand, you didn't care to see who it was because of how bad you felt about yourself.
You took a bite of the cake, feeling nauseous almost instantly. You threw the food on the ground, raising your hand to your mouth to cover it when you felt something gush all over your face, when you looked at your hands you saw how it was dyed an unpleasant green color.
You felt even worse, seeing how the people who had noticed your physical change surrounded you wanting to know what was happening, some laughing loudly.
Your world was collapsing, running to the exit and pushing those who crossed your path, reaching the outskirts and running even more in search of a fountain; the magic water was supposed to help you. You submerged your head and then your whole body, coming out completely soaked but returning to normal.
Wasn't it enough?
You broke down in tears, sitting on the edge of the fountain with your hands on your face and your elbows resting on your knees. The little makeup you had put on had fallen off, your outfit was wet and your hair was tangled.
Not far from where you were sitting you heard someone running in your direction; high heel boots clicking on the floor.
“Y/N!”
“Leave me alone, James.” You reproached, lowering your hands from your face but not looking up.
“Please, I came to see if everything was okay.”
“Do I look okay?” You answered suddenly, looking up at him with a frown.
He gulped, sitting next to you, running a hand close to your face to brush away a damp lock of hair that was blocking your vision, putting it behind your ear so it wouldn’t get in your way.
“Absolutely. You look so gorgeous.” He sighed in love, wishing he hadn’t confessed that out loud. He cleared his throat and tried to say something different. “You weren’t supposed to eat that cupcake, it was for Bridget. We’ll find another way to humiliate her, okay? Trust me.”
“Do you think I look gorgeous?” You placed a hand on your chest nervously.
The words caught in his throat when he noticed you had heard him, sighing shakily. He placed his good hand on yours, removing it from your chest.
“You are the most beautiful person I have ever seen, absolutely perfect and divine. There will never be anyone like you, you looked beautiful today, you still look good but…wet.” He let out a laugh and kept a smile.
He stayed silent for a few seconds, concluding when he took off the suit jacket he was wearing to put it over your shoulders.
“What was that?”
“You’re shivering.”
“I’m still wet.”
“That’s why you can keep it.” He smiled softly, leaning towards you and giving you a quick kiss on the cheek.
That night, he walked you to your room to make sure no one mentioned what happened at the dance, threatening anyone who came near you with his hook. You let him into your room, keeping you comfortingly company while you regained your stability, leaning on his chest as you listened to him say how in love he was with you.

My Sunflower|| John Dory x Fiancé!Reader
Warnings:Angst+Fluff
(This is my first real fanfic so Plss don’t be TOO harsh)
YALL ITS LONG OK😭
——————————————————————
“John! I’m home!” Said the exhausted troll walking through the door of their shared apartment. “Huh? Damn it’s 9pm.” Y/n said checking the time. “Hun, You here?” They screamed again wondering why their fiancé wasn’t answering. When they didn’t get a response they started to get anxious, but convinced themselves he went to either the studio or to hang out with his brothers.
The clock finally hits 11:03pm and still there isn’t a sign of JD. “Why isn’t he answering his phone?” You said with worry laced in your voice. His brothers also didn’t answer their phones for god knows what. Now you’re in full panic mode pacing back and forth in the dining room blowing UP his phone with messages and calls. After your many failed attempts of contacting him you finally decided to call the only person you KNEW that was gonna pick up. So you called his grandma.
Once she answered you tried to hide your anxiousness and your panicked voice, but she caught on to it quickly. “Hi Mrs. Rosie, do you know where John is? I haven’t spoke to him since this morning before I went to work.” You asked frantically hoping that she would cure the pulsating adrenaline going through your body. When you finished your nauseating questions the silence you both held was fueling it like you were going to burst. When the never ending silence finally came to an end a sigh was heard. "Hun Bun….JD left hours ago after their embarrassing show fail." she told you with reassurance and empathy. She then continued to tell you how and what happened between the brothers. The last thing you ever heard from her was “Sweetie just give it time.” So you waited…
And waited….
And waited….
Until 20 years have passed and still no sign of John. You were invited to the royal wedding of King Grisel and Bridget and was currently trying to find a dress. While rampaging you closet like a mad woman you come across and unfamiliar bagged dress. When you took it out you stared at it with tears welling up in your eyes. It was your dress he proposed to you in. It was admired in jewels and yellow sunflower like petals and soft like satin and silk. It was one of a kind. Your debating stopped instantly and you proceeded to put on the dress.
FAST FORWARD TO WEDDING :>
“We are gathered here today t-.” “STOP THE WEDDING!” A random voice yelled…
You felt like your heart was going to jump out your chest from all the adrenaline rushing. Trying to force your tears down you finally built enough courage to turn around and look to where everyone else was looking. When you finally saw who it was your tears finally escaped their haunted and sorrowful chamber. He was there……
Standing in front of Branch?
Trying to pick him up?
You didn’t wanna get noticed in this state so you turned to leave but you felt a hand grab your flushed smaller ones. It was Branch..”Are you ok?”he asked knowing you weren’t. “I’m ok.” You said quickly dismissing his attempts of comfort. Before you could leave you heard a nickname you never knew you would hear again. “My sunflower?” He must’ve felt the tension he created so he hurried to you and begged you too listen to his explanations and excuses. You couldn’t do nothing, BUT listen so you gave him 3 minutes. “The reason I left was because Brozone was turning into a disaster and I needed to just space myself away for a while!”
You didn’t know whether to be mad or sad or HELL even glad but you knew he was trying to get you to understand. “But did you have to go?” Tears welling up..
Silence…….
“Did you have to leave me alone without telling me ANYTHING?!!?”
“I-“ you didn’t let him finish before you started walking off letting the emotions and realization sink in. He knew he fucked up… He couldn’t let you leave…. He needed his flower…He ran up to you and hugged you as hard as he could to prevent you from leaving and cried like hell was dragging him away from the heaven he created with you. “Sunflower PLEASE, I promise I’ll never leave you again!!” He repeated like his life depended on it. You slowly started to give in and soothed him. “Please Hun, I promise I’ll pro-“ He couldn’t even get done with his sentence before feeling the feeling he oh so missed….
Your lips…
“Please Don’t leave me again.” You said barely above a whisper and your teary E/C eyes looked at him.
He smiled warmly and responded with nothing but sincerity..”Of course not my sunflower.”

A Taste of your Heart: Epilogue
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bridget x (Fem!)OC: Ashlynn Hood
Chapter Summary: You solidify your relationship with Bridget, as does Ella and Chamring, the VKs have been put in their place. Everything seems to go back to normal... But, Bridget isn't entirely over their Castlecoming prank.
Chapter Warnings: Grudge
Chapter Key: Italics = Thoughts, +*+ = Time Skip, Bold/Italic = Singing
Chapter Theme: Life is Sweeter - Descendants Cast
A/n: May or may not be short, but hey, those are epilogues... Big thanks for reading through :)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
*Ashlynn's POV* As you walk back to your room after class, you catch Ella and Charming in the common room.
"Hey you two," You greet them, "Have you seen Bridget?"
"She immediately went back to her room," She answers, "I don't know why. She always hangs out after. She also didn't have her usual happy expression..."
"Hmm," You sigh, "I'll go talk to her then..."
"Bridget?" You gently knock on her door
No response...
But, you could hear faint music from the other side of the door...
"Bridge, it's me, Ash," You knock again
"Come in," She says, unenthusiastic
You slowly open the door and walk across the floor to meet her at her little baking station.. You give her a kiss on her temple, but she doesn't give a reaction...
"Hey, is everything okay?" You ask
Your eyes drift to the cookbook on the table...
"Why do you have the Sorcerer's Cookbook?" You ask, "You shouldn't be messing with those..."
"The VKs need to pay for what they did to you," She answers
She's a little cute when she's mad...
"B, this isn't like you," You say, "Everyone is all over the news about Ella and Charming..."
Your answer doesn't phase her as she continues looking up at the cookbook...
"Bridget," You sigh, "I don't care what they did to me..."
"But, I care what they did to you," Bridget turns to face you finally, she tries to hold in tears, "What they did was unforgivable.... They need to pay."
She quickly wipes her tears away and dives her nose back into her baking... You sigh...
You truly didn't care about what the VKs did... You protected Bridget, which the prank was aimed at her... You were honestly over the whole ordeal. Everyone seemed to move on.
"They need to pay," Bridget says again, trying to hide it under a sigh
"They honestly don't B," You sigh
She continues to not listen to you as she continues looking at the cookbook recipe.
Sometimes we make mistakes...
Her spoon stops clinking against the bowl...
Sometimes we burn the cake But I still believe, that all will be okay The sun shines a little more brightly...
You begin to take a step towards her...
When we take things a little more lightly...
You continue slowly making your way towards her...
It's all gonna turn out nicely With just a taste of your heart...
Your hands touch her elbows, slowly moving along her forearms...
It's likely We'll fall into something spicy Just mix it up, you'll keep finding that...
Your hands rest on top of hers...
Life is sweeter when you are...
She lets go of her mixing utensils and turns to look at you.
"I... Have never heard you sing before," She says
"That's because I'm always somewhere, where the music isn't," You say, "Plus, I thought it was the appropriate time to."
She sighs as she rests her forehead against yours... Slowly her lips curve into a smile
"Now, can we just go to baking regular baked goods?" You ask, "That would be a fun date idea."
"What about the VKs then?" She asks
"Karma works in mysterious ways," You say, "They will get what's coming to them... It's only a matter of when. You don't have to forgive them. But, I don't want you doing something that'll get you sent back to Wonderland..."
She huffs out a sigh...
"Would you do it for me?" You ask
*Bridget's POV* "I'll... Try," You sigh
You couldn't tay mad, especially if she sang just for you. You tug at the collar of her shirt and give her a kiss.
*Ashlynn's POV* You chuckle as you take a step back and begin helping her with baking.
"You can have feelings about the ordeal," You say, "I won't be mad about that. I just don't want you doing something drastic..."
She sighs, "But how come they would get away with everything?"
"They're the VKs... They're sneaky," You answer, "And Merlin is a little... Slow to catch them..."
+*+
For once, Bridget didn't bake anything for everyone... But, just for the both of you. The both of you go to your shared little nest up in the tower; overlooking the campus.
"Oh man people are going to be jealous when I'm the first one who tried your new Enchanted chocolate chip cookies," You say
"Well, this recipe is very special, so it'll only be exclusive to you," She smiles
"Well, aren't I special," You joke
"You are to me," She says, "You're my girlfriend after all."
You sigh into a smile as you continue to munch on your cookie.
"Hey... Ash..." Bridget breaks the silence
"What's up?" You ask
"What made you ask me to Castlecoming?" She asks, "Since... Well... You only came around when Uliana was bullying Ella and I..."
"Don't laugh, but I've admired you since day one," You confess, "Kind of like an 'admiring from afar' kind of deal. Never had the confidence to bring myself to introduce myself to you.... Let alone talk to you..."
She caresses your cheek and you lean into her hand.
"Well, you're lucky you have the type of girlfriend who reaches out to everybody," She smiles
"I suppose...What are you going to do when you leave this place?" You ask
"Go back to Wonderland to ascend to the throne," She says, "I am the princess of hearts after all."
"Hopefully.... Just hopefully, maybe I could ascend the throne with you..." You suggest, "But, who knows..."
"I'd want you there, by my side, I don't care what my family will think," She says, leaning close to you
"Might have to fight my way there, considering you may have a lot of suitors by then," You chuckle
"Then my bet will always be you," She smiles before leaning in to give you a kiss
Years Later...
*Ashlynn's POV* You open your eyes when your ears catch the sounds of footsteps throughout the halls of the castle. Your nose caught the scent of food.
You poke your head through the door and see Bridget with her back turned. She hums to herself as the spoon clinks with the bowl.
You try to quietly make your way towards her, hoping the floorboards would play in your favor.
"I can hear your breathing, love," She says
You sigh in defeat playfully as you rest your head on her shoulder.
"I wasn't trying to scare you you know," You say
"Hey, mom, can I go out to the town?" Red comes in
"That's alright dear," Bridget answers
"Don't do anything I would do," You add
"No promises mom," She rolls her eyes, smiling
"Obedience doesn't come natural to you? Doesn't it kiddo?" You ask your daughter
"I only learned from my mother, who is a Hood," Red's voice echoes from the castle halls
"What will we do with that girl?" You sigh
"Make sure she grows up to be a proper Queen of Wonderland," Bridget answers
"Just like her beautiful mother," You turn her
Her hands rest on your shoulders as the both of you sway to blissful silence.
*Bridget's POV* Back then, you were certain there wasn't going to be anyone interested in you. But, the one who was... Was the daughter of Robin Hood, and was willing to make a fool of herself to save you from humiliation.
"I love you, Ashlynn Hood," You say
"I love you, Bridget," She replies

In Merlin Academy’s central courtyard, where Uliana and crew of misfit villains, gods, and pirates circled around Bridget of Wonderland. It was so much fun to pick on the pink haired girl because she was such an easy target, and Uliana knew for a fact that Bridget's bodyguard: Ella wasn't around to protect her.
Uliana faced Bridget. "Look at you, Bridget. Always so sweet and nice. It's sickening. No wonder you don't have any friends outside the peasant girl."
"I don't think that's a very nice thing to say about Ella. I’m just trying to fit in. Please, leave me alone." Bridget said.
"Or what, pinkie? You'll make us some cupcakes?" Hades asked, a smirk on his face.
Before she could answer, Elson, son of Elsa, stepped in front of Bridget. He pushed his cloak down his shoulders. "That’s enough, Uliana. Bullying isn’t going to solve anything.
Uliana scoffed. "And who do you think you are to tell me what to do?"
"Oh, look, someone’s trying to be a hero. How quaint." Maleficent said.
Hades looks at Elson and smirks. "You sure you want to pick a fight with us, ice boy? We’re not exactly known for being easy to handle."
"Yeah. Leave, ice boy. This isn't any of your business." Morgie said.
"I’m not looking for a fight, but I won’t stand by and watch someone be mistreated."
"Aren't ye a noble laddie. Defending this here, lassie." Hook smirks for his position by a nearby wall as he walks towards them, golden hook glinting in the sunshine. "Noble hero. I dare say I'm smitten."

Wait so has anyone claimed that celebrity au yet because like need to see this. Like imagine Red having been forced to act since she was a kid by Bridget, and like kind of having this child star gone bad girl type of vibe? (Like think every Disney star from the 2010s) and Chloe who actually enjoys acting having to deal with the critics often writing her off as a nepo baby because Ella and Christopher where the celebrity power couple of the century when they were younger. Something that even Red assumes when she first hears about her in passing.
The two finally meet on set of some movie, where they find out their co-stars and immediately find each other infuriating. Chloe, because she finds Red cocky and lazy, and Red because she thinks Chloe is just another rich kid who thinks they can do whatever they want and always get the lead. When they first start filming it's so tense that they can't even act out a convincing chemistry read. It gets so bad that mentions of finding replacements because of how are they supposed to play love interest if they can't even convince a small group of people they like even each other? They of course go back and forth a bit about whose fault it is that they can't get the scene right, but eventually settle on calling a truce because they both had too much riding on this to let it go to shit so soon.
They finally nail the chemistry read on their third try and realize that if they were going to do this they were going to have to be on the same page. They practically act obsessed with each other when their on set putting their acting skills to good use in front of the producers. So much so in fact that their PR team push up the date for their cast announcement press tour to build hype for their movie. Considering you know they play the staring roles they constantly find themselves trying so hard to look like they like each other in front of cameras and in interviews despite hating each others guts. And to make it worse Bridget is still in Reds' ear warning her to keep up appearances.
Although slowly with all the forced time spent together they start to notice small things about each other. Like how most of Chloe's questions have something to do with her parents. Or how Red always answers questions about her experience acting as vague as possible. Especially when it came to some of her childhood roles. Red noticed the way Chloe would tense in front of paparazzi, and Chloe noticed how Red would write short lyrics for songs on the plane rides when she thought everyone was sleep. Unaware that it was her soft melodies that put Chloe at ease on those long nights.
And so maybe every now and then Red would slip her fingers around Chloe's crowds started to surround them. And maybe Chloe just so happens to divert every question aimed at Red's childhood. And if when they return to finish filming their last few scenes they seem like a much more convincing couple? Well then that's a story for another day.

CHLOE CHARMING HEADCANONS
Chloe Charming x fem!reader
genre: the most fluffiest fluff💖
warnings: not proof read.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Such a lil cutie
LOVES going out places
When she was younger Ella and Charming would tell Chloe (and Probably Chad) the story of Cinderella every night before bed 😭😭 (got this from Malia herself)
and Chloe’s probably the one to believe in true love.
DEFINITELY GOT ALL THE BRAIN (chads kinda brainless and I love him for that )
when she met Red her face went from :D STRAIGHT TO D: after hearing Bridget say “OFF WITH HER HEAD.”
friends with fem reader since they were toddlers
When their parents put the two in play dates they would probably play Princess and the knight (you were the Princess, she was the knight)
End up arguing because you both wanted to be the knight. 😞😦
you both got the role of knight! Chloe just made her father or big brother get into a dress and be the princess (and what a pretty Princess they were)
I think you both had little kid crushes on each other, but you both didn’t exactly know what it was so after a while you both would just think you two were super bffs
Hugging, handholding, pinky promises, KISSES ON CHEEK, FOREHEAD. wholesome stuff ❤️
When you both got older, so did your friendship- I mean.
She likes you? AND WHY DID SHE ANNOUNCE IT IN PUBLIC.
probably pulled a Ben and said “I love you Y/N, did I ever mention that??” In front of the whole school like- ☠️
YOU ACCEPT BECAUSE YOU LIKE HER TOO!
relationship status⬇️⬇️❤️
Loves hand holding , cuddling, kisses, ANYTHING THAT REGARDS LOVE.
congrats! You just got yourself a guard dog 💕
If you were endangered. Just watch as in a few minutes she comes into where you were held hostage like-
“Are you alright Mon cœur?”
“Are you hurt?-“
“Any bruises??-“
BRO HOW DID YOU EVEN GET IN- THERES A DRAGON OUTSIDE.
she fed the thing some food. 😍
HER LEARNING ANY LANGUAGE IS CANON. IDC WHAT PEOPLE SAY.
Doesn’t exactly watch any movies but if your around. YES!
She finds it awkward watching her parents dance like “dad :C.. “ and then as soon as her mom joins in she’s like “ moooom!! D:”
she’ll ask if you want to dance afterwards like- learnt most of it from watching her parents.
She can play the piano 😍😍
You can play guitar.
First kiss with you! She kisses you first, you kiss her back, she kisses you once again.
her parents love having you around the place💕
Are make out sessions ever going to be a thing?
Not until you both are 18 buddy😞
or even better, not until your both 40. (PARENTS RULES!)
or maybe not?? (That’s a rhetorical question, don’t answer it.)
she’ll hold you until you fall asleep.
Cuddling in bed is a MUST.
your laying on her thighs because like- AAAA 😍😍
kisses on the palm of you hand and the back as if she treats you like a Princess.
SUCH A SWEETIE!!
Love her little smile (Malia as well!)

JAMES HOOK ; star crossed lovers
summary ; you and hook fall for each other, your love forbidden as he was a vk, and you were an ak
warnings ; language
disclaimers ; reader can fly & uses pixie dust like peter pan
word count ; 1.1k
masterlist
Tumblr media
Hook's eyes land on you from afar, watching as you sprinkle pixie dust upon Bridget and Ella. They had been begging you to let them try out flying, and you'd finally given in halfway through today.
He peers past the concrete wall into the courtyard, watching you three fly about, or really, watch you try to help your friends learn how to fly how you do. You giggle, bouncing back as you practically swim in air, watching them struggle to control themselves. It wasn't as easy as it looked.
"Whoever can fly to class faster wins!" Bridget laughs, looking over at Ella.
"Oh, you're on!" She smiles, dashing toward the nearest doors as fast as she could, attempting to beat Bridget.
Bridget was definitely better at the flight thing, but Ella had speed. You'd have to check in with them later, considering your class was in the opposite direction.
Hook, seeing you were now alone, casually walks toward you, having popped out of nowhere as you watch Ella and Bridget soar past the windows and eventually disappear. He tilts his head as he looks up at you, trying to read you somehow, from behind. You turn around, jumping back in slight fear and surprise.
"Uhm, hello!-" You awkwardly smile, floating a above the ground, making yourself a foot taller than him. You recognize him, knowing he's a VK.
"What's with the eh-" He looks you up and down, "Floaty thing?"
You glance around and shrug. "I dunno. Just kinda... born like that"
He nods, posing no threat. "Cool"
You subtly raise an eyebrow. "You think?"
"Yeah," He chuckles. "Got any more of that fairy dust?" He asks, referring to the magical golden dust that enchanted its victims with flight.
"Pixie dust," you correct. "But, yeah. Why?"
"You do flying classes?" He asks, a soft expression on his face, one of curiosity, craving adventure.
Your cautious expression quickly fades to one of happiness, a smile curling the corners of your lips up. "For you, I guess"
He smiles, watching as you dig into your pocket and sprinkle him in the glittering gold powder. His feet slowly depart from the floor, his arms quickly reaching out to you in fear.
You jump back to avoid his hooked hand, but realized that this was more like teaching a kid how to ride a bike rather than he wanted to hurt you. You reach for his in-tact hand, pulling him closer to you, laughter escaping your lips as he front flips a few times.
"This isn't funny!"
"Yeah, it is!"
He clings onto you, not liking gravity not pulling him down to the ground.
"What're you so scared for?" You chuckle as you question him. "You a pussy?"
"No!" He quickly pushes away from you, needing to keep his tough guy VK coat on in front of you, reminding himself that you weren't one of his friends. "It's very hard to keep balance!" He exclaims as he falls backward to hang upside down. He flails his arms, returning right side up.
"What's your name?" You ask, stifling a laugh as you watch.
"Hook. James Hook"
"Cause the hook, I'm guessing?"
Tumblr media
It'd been a few days since you'd last seen James Hook, your mind constantly trying to find an answer to why he wanted to try the pixie dust and why he spent nearly an hour hanging out with you to try and learn to fly. Maybe he was forming some sort of plan. Maybe you shouldn't speak to him again, maybe he was bad just like the other VKs. Maybe you should stop trusting everyone-
"Hey Y/n," James smiles, appearing from behind you, hand quickly jumping to your shoulder.
You jump, looking back at him as you sit under a tree in the front yard of Merlin's Academy.
"Hey, Hook" You answer, looking back down at your textbook.
He raises an eyebrow, looking down at your spell casting book. "You can call me James"
"Hey, James," you repeat, correcting yourself. "What's up?"
He shrugs. "I was going to ask you that"
He slides down the tree, sitting next to you. "I saw your little stunt earlier in the library." he smiles. "You're a trickster, hm?"
You lightly smile. "Yeah."
"Little sprinkle of that dust and watching people try to fly is amusing, isn't it?"
"Yeah, kinda. Especially when it's assholes" You reply, referring to his VK friends.
He chuckles. "It was funny, really. I like you, you have a sense of humor."
"Y'know," You speak, looking up at him. "My shadow is it's own being, it spies"
He raises an eyebrow. You glance back at the tree you rest your back upon, showing him your shadow standing above you, hands on their hips. He jumps for a moment, looking back at you.
"I don't lie, James" You shrug, watching as the shadow attempts to push you two together. You roll your eyes. "They want us to kiss"
James glances between you and the shadow, face growing red. "I mean, a lot of people call me James-"
"It's not about that." You sigh. "Little mischievous bitch thought you falling into my arms the other day was 'adorable'. You have a crush on me or something, apparently, according to them"
He blinks and shrugs. "I mean, they're not totally wrong." He smiles awkwardly wide, looking for validation. He breaks, disturbed by your silence. "I'd love to be friends with you, at least. You're very intriguing and humorous, and-"
You quickly cut him off. "What? We can't, we can't be friends. You're a VK"
His expression quickly falters as he realizes the predicament.
"But... I shouldn't deny that I feel the same way about you"
He blinks, confused and slightly caught off gaurd. "What are you getting at here?"
"We're star-crossed lovers." You speak dramatically. "We can't be together, yet there's something pulling us together. Even if it's just a silly little crush or infatuation"
He nods. "Can we at least be friends? I promise you, love, I'm not as evil as it seems."
Tumblr media
Yeah, friends was an awful word to use when describing you and the infamous James Hook.
Someone call up Anne Marie...
Over the course of the next few months, you and Hook had become true star-crossed lovers like Romeo and Juliet, bound by love, separated by fate. The constellations aligned but the stars between you and James never did.
You wondered why you had to be separated by social norms, why you couldn't be with him because he was a villain. If James was a villain, then you were too for your pranks, there was nothing fair about it.
Even though you'd sucked yourself into a little world of your own, he was there by your side, loving your lips behind closed doors and confined spaces so you wouldn't be caught. God, no one would ever forget it if they found out. A VK and an AK together? The world might as well have ended.
You fly through the forest with James, his fingers tangled in yours as you swiftly pull him along.
"Y/n, slow down!"
"I'm not even going fast, you're going slow!"

CASUAL - red x chloe charming (descendants 4: rise of red)
a/n: literally watched the new descendants movie, and while there are some things that i thought could be better, i literally CANNOT stop shipping chloe and red more than anything else rn. it's like brainrot to me, so i have decided to write a fic on them (wattpad: hoakaikapo). here's the first chapter, it's currently 1am, so i'll write more tomorrow morning while my hype for them still lives.
warnings: none. just casual flirting (if that's how you interpret it).
__________________
Chloe found Red standing near the back of the courtyard after the ceremony, shoving her face with the endless pastries available on the dessert table. The princess of Wonderland seemed so childlike and innocent eating macaroons, almost as if they hadn’t gone back in time together and saved both of their mother’s from a certain fate.
“Enjoying that macaroon, Red?” said Chloe as she approached the table and laughed as she proceeded to eat another one. “You can calm down, they’re not going anywhere.”
Red rolled her eyes. “It’s not my fault time traveling could make a person so hungry.”
“I think famished is the word you’re going for since… you’ve nearly eaten the entire plate.” Chloe corrected her.
“Ok, yeah whatever, princess.”
There was a long silence between the two as they watched their mothers converse from afar. The Queen of Hearts embraced Cinderella so firmly as if they hadn’t seen each other in years. They laughed and talked like they were lifelong friends. Maybe it was true; neither of the girls were sure how they changed the timeline other than the fact that Red’s mom was a completely different person.
Although Red had finally gotten what she had wanted – a loving mother – she wasn’t sure why the sinking feeling in her stomach didn’t go away, no matter how many macaroons she ate. Maddox Hatter’s words still remained in her head: changing the timeline could affect everything as she knows it. But, for now, it was good enough for her to see her mother the way she had seen her in high school: a kind person.
Red could only hope that it would stay this way.
“So, our mission here is officially over,” Red breaks the silence at last. “This was a great way to start off the new school year.”
“Couldn’t agree more with you,” Chloe responds and turns to face Red. “You know, this doesn’t have to be the end.”
Red tilts her head in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“Like, we can be friends,” she slowly says, her tone sounding cautious as if to not anger the other princess, “If you wanted to be.”
Before Red could answer her, or even process the offer Chloe just made, their mothers called out to them, striding to their daughters arm in arm then breaking off once they reached their girls. Bridget plants a kiss on Red’s cheek and Cinderella strokes Chloe’s hair, a smile on both of the queen’s faces.
“We were going to introduce you girls formally, but it seems like you two have already met,” the Queen of Hearts said, looking between the two girls. They smile awkwardly at each other for a moment before looking away. “Red, this is my good friend, Ella – well, her majesty, her royal highness, I suppose. We went to high school together right here at Auradon Prep, or Merlin Academy as it was known for us.”
“Bridget, stop it. When it comes to you, there is no need for formalities,” Ella laughs. “It is so lovely to meet you at last, Princess Red. Your mother and I used to send letters back and forth just talking about our daughters when you both were babies.”
“Oh, really? I never knew that…” she says through gritted teeth.
“Yes, and now it gives me so much pleasure to introduce my daughter, Chloe, to you, Bridget. Formally and not written.” The queen’s laugh together for a brief moment.
Chloe holds out her hand to the red queen for her to shake. “Your highness, it is so lovely to meet you and your daughter.”
Red never really thought about it before, but Chloe was the spitting image of her mother: curly blue hair, big dark brown eyes, and quite charming, indeed, not to be ironic or anything. She mimicked Cinderella in every mannerism and every action, like a future queen.
It was odd for the two girls to listen to their mother’s talk, occasionally chiming in every once in a while. Both felt like they knew too little about their current future to produce no more than a sentence in their answers to each question. When Ella asked Red what she did in her free time, she froze. Usually, she would terrorize her mother’s portraits and disobey her ridiculous rules. But since changing the timeline, she wasn’t quite sure what else changed in Wonderland, so she settled for painting, which seemed to surprise her mother.
“You girls are going to have so much fun together!” Bridget exclaimed as the four began walking out of the courtyard. “Ella and I were never roommates while we were in school, but I know you two will have the best time being with each other.”
“Wait, what?” The two princesses said in unison, stopping in their tracks and passing a look of shock between each other.
Ella tilted her head. “Yes, you two are roommates. We were talking about it when we were checking in, remember? Your mom and I specifically sent a request to Principal Uma to allow you two girls to board together.”
“You did? We did?” Red responded in confusion.
Chloe nudged the girl in her side, causing her to grunt, as if to signal to her to play along. “Yes, mom, you did. Red mustn’t remember because she ate too many macaroons, didn’t you?”
Red snarled at Chloe. “Yeah, and I can’t wait, roomie.”
Their mother’s smile contentedly before turning and walking ahead of their daughters; they decided it was best for them to give the girls their alone time so that they may be acquainted with each other before their rooming situation.
If only they knew how familiar their two daughters already were with each other.
“So, about my offer-”
“Just because we’re roommates doesn’t mean we’re exactly friends, princess,” Red snaps slightly. “I can still feed you to the Jabberwocky.”
Chloe rolls her eyes. “Back to your attitude again, I see.”
“I do not have an attitude,” Red exclaims.
“Yes, you do.”
“Do not.
“Do too.”
“Shut up.”
“You shut up!”
“I said shut up first, princess.”
The walk back to the dorm was mainly silent between the two while their mothers chatted, gossiped, and laughed like they were still high schoolers. By the time they had reached their room, it was time for a swift goodbye from the two queen’s, and as simple as that, they were off.
Entering into their dorm room for the first time, they found that their stuff was already set up and situated to their liking. The right side of the room was Red’s, no surprise there since it was covered in red and black from corner to floor. Red smiled at the letter from Maddox Hatter on her desk, already missing her former tutor and friend terribly. Chloe’s side, on the other hand, was white and blue. It was quite simple to Red’s surprise -- she had originally thought the other girl would be more decorative. But to Chloe, it was exactly how she wanted it to be; the only thing missing was her sword on its respective stand, which she did so immediately.
There was one walk-in closet with Red’s clothes taking up one side and Chloe’s clothes taking up the either. The bathroom was lavish, completed with a tub, a walk-in shower, two sinks, some sort of fancy imported toilet, and a large mirror. But, by far, their common area was easily their favorite spot: a large gray sofa with Auradon crested throw pillows, two bookcases filled with books, a TV with some sort of gaming station hooked up to it, and two desks for studying – if there should be any time for that.
It was every girl’s dream room.
“You should turn that into Principal Uma,” Chloe says when she notices the time travel watch on Red’s desk as they were getting ready for bed. “It can be dangerous, you know. It’s not something you should just casually have.”
“Are you saying that because I’m a villain?” Red scoffs.
“You’re not a villain, Red,” she responds. “I just want to be cautious, considering how easy it was for us to time travel in the first place. This isn’t something that should be just laying around our room.”
Our room, Red thought. I can’t believe I have to share it with you for the rest of the year.
“You’re such a goody-goody,” she retorts. “Always abiding by the rules.”
Chloe’s starting to get annoyed. “We’re not having this argument again, Red, I was just saying that-”
“Then drop the topic if you don’t want to argue?”
“Don’t cut me off while I’m talking!” Chloe yells.
Red goes silent immediately over the girl’s sudden outburst. She had never seen this side of the princess before even though she had only gotten to know her over the past four days.
“I’m not being a goody-goody, you’re not a villain either. It could be so easy for someone to time travel accidentally and I just want us to be safe, especially you,” Chloe states, a mixed look of concern and shock over the realization of what she had said at the end.
There’s a pull in Red’s chest, as if a hand wrapped around her heart and started squeezing it when Chloe talked about their safety – her safety, specifically. Her heart pangs in the most unfamiliar way over repeating those words in her head.
“I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to yell at you. I’ll just, um, I’m gonna head to bed,” mutters Chloe as she turns off the light. “Night, Red.”
Red can feel herself giving into what Chloe was saying. A part of her didn’t want to, but another part of her understood where the princess was coming from. It was too easy for them to time travel in the first place; the watch could easily be mistaken as a regular pocket watch to anyone else. So, maybe Chloe was right…
Red was going to hate herself later for this.
“Rather than turning it in,” she says slowly amidst the cover of darkness, hoping that Chloe was still awake to hear her so she didn’t sound stupid talking to herself. “I’ll lock it away. That way I don’t have to give it up – per say – and you don’t need to worry about the whole safety thing, you know?”
It’s silent for a while, and dark, until the sound of a lamp turns on and the room is partially filled with light again.
“Red,” Chloe clears her throat, Red looks at her at the sound. “Are you offering a compromise right now?”
“I don’t know. Is that what it’s called?” Red asks.
Chloe laughs. “Yeah, it is.”
“Then, yes, I am, princess,” she grins slightly.
Chloe can’t help the smile on her face over Red’s supposed compromise – and maybe the nickname, even though they were both princesses.
“I can do that,” agreed Chloe, staring at Red from her bed and viewing her in a completely different view from when she first met her. “Just as long as you promise to not use it again for dumb purposes.”
Red chuckles then turns to face her. “Villains don’t make promises.”
“For the last time, you’re not a villain!” Chloe groans as she turns off the lamp, darkness taking hold of the girl’s room once again.
“Tonight, you will not be fed to my Jabberwocky.” Red jokes, still facing the direction where Chloe was earlier in her bed.
“Go to sleep, Red.”
“Fine. Night, princess.”
“Goodnight, Red.”

hey, apologies if this is an unwanted question, but do you have any tips on finding resources for learning bobbin lace? I’ve started learning myself, but I’m struggling to expand beyond a torchon ground bookmark, and to understand clean color + pattern changes, if that makes sense. Love your comic panel piece btw!!
Oh hey, not unwanted at all! I love answering questions like these!! Anyways in a move that is sure to surprise everyone, I got excited and this got a little long so under the cut we go
Anyways first off- cannot recommend Jo edkins’ site enough. Fantastic instructions, info on different styles, grounds, stitches, etcetera, and there are these animated demonstrations of a lot of the stitches that really helped them click for me :) anyways this is where I did (and do!) the bulk of my learning, in no small part because it’s also free sjsjjs
Bookwise, my favorite is Lessons in Bobbin Lacemaking by Doris southard. Relatively easy to find, and there are a lot of patterns for strips/edgings in there that you can copy over. My version’s also printed on this really nice thick paper which is not immediately relevant but I DO consider it a plus
I’ve also used The Torchon Lace Workbook by Bridget M. Cook with some success, though I did find the process of copying the patterns over a little more difficult with this one. The patterns themselves are very nice though, and while I went into this one already knowing how to work Torchon, from the looks of it the introductory section is pretty solid, and there’s lots of fun color stuff going on in the patterns
Anyways you’ll probably notice that this is mostly torchon stuff- that would be because as of right now, I mostly make torchon stuff and it’s also a very very good starting point. Now, as for finding resources on your own: antique pattern library my beloved. Light of my life. Anyways, this is all public domain stuff which historically I find a little more difficult to use in terms of actually learning how to do things; the text tends to be very small and I struggle to parse the illustrations, but a)that might not hold true for you aksjsj and b) once you’ve got a general idea of how things work there’s a whole wealth of patterns right there!! All free!!!! Antique pattern library I love you. Anyways going to internet archive and searching bobbin lace is also always a very good bet, and similarly accessible. This is generally what I do when I want to find info on something either without spending money, or if I know there’s not going to be a lot of more modern books on it, like for filet lace
Now, back when I first started, I also used lynxlace a lot which was a site dedicated to the making of various kinds of lace- unfortunately it seems as though the site itself is no longer available, but it’s still accessible through the wayback machine. This site often references the owner’s book- I haven’t read that and I’m not sure if it’s still available, but if you find that the way the free lessons are presented works for you, then that might be worth looking into. This site also has a resources section linking to other sites/books- as a general rule that’s also a fantastic way to find more, well. Resources aksjsj. Honestly, I’d recommend checking if all of the books/websites that you like have a resources/works cited/other books section or something equivalent. Following any links will probably require liberal use of the wayback machine, but it really is worth it if you wanna build up a bigger resource base :)
Anyways, I hope this helps!! My more general advice is to just have fun with it which I suppose seems a little obvious?? But it can get very very easy to get caught up in the specifics, and especially with something as fiddly as lace. Dont be afraid to experiment!! Try what sounds interesting!! I wish you the best of luck with your projects, and also I’m very glad you liked the comic panel piece I loved making that sksjsj that was so much fun
