alright what did I miss what’s happening

The woman Andrew is apparently dating, presents himself as a philosophy, mentor and professional witch (contours of a high-standard charlatan) and charges small fortunes of rich for such mentoring/ witchcraft. Her website says $4k for one 45 minute session monthly, minimum 6 month commitment. She’s got four divorces. There are some reports of emotional abuse from her. Andrew’s friends had known and followed her in the IG before this relationship. As soon as he was seen with this girl, Andrew’s closest friends (Ellie, Trevor...) who followed her, stopped following. In fact, Ellie is deleting several pics with him in her IG. Imagine shaking his friendships over a fuck in what appears to be an open relationship - according to her background. Some fans fear that she may be exploiting some emotional frailty in him - since he lost a dear friend last year and has not yet gotten over his mother’s departure.

So, I managed to summarize.

Hoy es día de celebración en Lady Moustache.

Nos hemos reunido en torno a un cálido fuego encendido en la papelera de orgánico y, mientras hacíamos biomasa, con nuestros guantes ajados y una inmensa montaña de briefings, hemos comenzado a relatar anécdotas de cuando hemos necesitado encomendarnos a San Publicito, patrón de publicistas en todas sus modalidades.

Entre las anécdotas que más carcajadas han provocado está aquella vez nos llego un encargo súper urgente al mediodía de un previo a puente… Sabíamos algunos idiomas, pero aquel día rezamos a Santa Publicita en muchos más.

Otra, que casi es de nuestras favoritas, es la vez que “cerramos” un logotipo de marca 20 veces y al final solo lo hicimos más grande. Nuestra diseñadora casi muere aplastada por ese logo enorme, pero mereció la pena la cantidad de tics nerviosos que conserva de aquel día.

Las peleas con la plataforma de Meta porque encuentra motivos de censura en una campaña social nos hizo comprender la diferencia entre software y hardware. Para los que aún se líen: software es a lo que gritas. Hardware lo que golpeas.

Y estas son solo algunas, pero en realidad, ¡qué haríamos sin estas anécdotas! Son la sal de la vida, aquello que hace que nos demos cuenta de cuantísimo nos gusta la comunicación, el diseño gráfico, el branding…

Así que, sintiéndonos muy afortunad@s de esta profesión desde el estudio de Lady Moustache, os deseamos a todos y todas las compañeras de sector un feliz Publicito/a.

My covid daily summary and briefing

Day 1: Slight sore throat and trouble clearing ears as we descend the elevation at Tioga Pass. I hope this is allergies.

Day 2: I’d better take a test. These tests got hot in the car. I better take another one. Fuck. Well, I don’t feel that bad, but better be safe. Scramble to get Pcr test for verification.

Day 3: Ugh. I definitely have it. Scramble for treatments even though we have shit for insurance. Acquire treatment by playing the asthma card though it’s barely a blip in my life these days.

Day 4 (today): Pcr confirmation. Health department alerted. Results shared anonymously through exposure notification on phone. A slight improvement in my symptoms.

6 more days, at the most.

Thank you so much for all of your asks! I'm so happy to see you're interested in the story! And it's so fun reading all of your theories! Seriously, thank you - I would not be continuing this blog if not for the asks. I really appreciate you taking the time to write something to send to our unfortunate blue blur over here :)

That being said - I got a couple more posts in the works with the asks I already have, so I'll close the asks for a tiny bit till I catch up. Probably like 5 more little posts.

Briefing and Workshop

Week 1

Today was the first day back. We got briefed for the first and main project - Place of words. We have to make a front cover and 3 double page spread article. I have to make around 5 images myself with whatever medium. Our ideas for the images have to be from one word and one context we randomly pick. I got environmental and vision. There is so much I can do with this and I'm excited to start.

I made two lists one with words related to vision and the other related to environmental. I then made an initial mood board with images from the words. I think from this I will then make a mind map and some sketchbook work.

FMP - Translate + Transform Briefing

Introduced to our one week project based on the theme 'Translate + Transform'.

Background:

Translation can mean the process of translating words or text from one language to another.

In a broader sense it is the conversion of one form or medium into another. Or it can mean the process of moving something from one place to another as found in mathematics or coding.

Task:

To pick something and translate it visually used a system devised by you, mapping the process and explaining it clearly.

This could be translating a scientific data set into an image, translating walks into a typeface, translating a song into code or translating emotion into a 3D object.
