#Bruce is proud but also wanting to know everything about the situation

I see a lot of posts about Danny seeing Jason and immediately thinking he’s a baby ghost and wanting to adopt him but what if it’s the other way around?

What if Jason sees Danny and is hit with oh my god that’s a baby, who left a baby unattended out on the street?? He needs help, gotta protect him, mine, yeah he’s mine now, I got u lil guy don’t worry

Meanwhile 15 yr old Danny is like um hi?? And promptly gets kidnapped. But he just lets it happen because he’s actually feeling the safest he’s ever felt in his life with this guy, and Danny’s core immediately recognizes Jason as parental figure and just relaxes Danny 100%

Jasons feeling like Danny is a helpless baby while Danny feels safe, protect, calm, safe, relax, and he just lets Jason take him home. Neither are really sure why or what is going on with them but they’re not gonna stop it.

I think it’s because Danny’s own parents kinda suck and any other ghost that he’s interacted with he’s had to fight in some capacity or has been spooked by them. Jason’s the only one who 1) wanted to parent him and 2) has good vibes. Danny’s usually waiting for fights to happen and he’s very stressed. Jason calms him down so much he probably falls asleep before they even get to Jason’s apartment, full trust that Jason will take care of him.

Meanwhile Jason never really connects with his pit side, but really wants to find some way to have a truce. Cue Danny, and both Jason and the Pit turn to protectiveness and so the rage becomes more protection and Jason yk, might be kinda lonely and wanting something to take care of. He was probably thinking about getting a cat and not a kid but he’s not complaining

Well, I don't think Alfred would be totally a-okay with this and after a bit he would act to 'fix' the situation.

He wants you to stay at the Manor and be appreciated too by the Batfam even though they don't even know you exist.

He has tried before, talking about you to Bruce and the others but they always dismissed him with the excuse of being busy or forgetting about you the next day.

And seeing you giving up on being with your real family and finding love in another family that actually accepts you and he can't accept that.

You're supposed to be with him as the rest of the Waynes not with some alien family.

He would act like he supports you whenever you come to visit him since you mostly live with the Kents nowadays and come to the Manor to grab the things you needed since you were moving your stuff from the Manor to the Kents house.

After a while you start to come home, to come back to him even less before you just visit him maybe once a month before it turns into no more visiting him since you're busy with school, dance classes and the vigilante role you still have.

And Alfred hates it so he decides that he can't stand to watch his boys obsess over your vigilante persona when they can't even bother to notice you weren't living in the Manor anymore.

So he decides to call a family meeting without your knowledge and explains everything, who you were behind the mask and how dissapointed and ashamed that the people he raised didn't even acknowledge that you existed.

Their reaction, which were mostly of confusion before realisation bothered him but he stayed silent and used their reaction to manipulate them, make them think you weren't in the right place with the Kent family.

And after a week from that meeting, you started to receive texts from all the batfam and also kept seeing them everywhere, with Bruce at school or when you were patrolling the city.

He would always try to talk to you, which you ignored or gave him the finger while swinging away, preferring to not engage in his tries to connect with you.

Plus he would show up at your dance recitals when you never said anything to Alfred about them and he would always be right in first row with a smug smile since he knew you couldn't do anything.

Plus you already knew they knew who you were behind the mask, they said your name when you had your mask on so many times you wanted to punch their faces.

You had to skip a few days of school because Tim and Damian started to show up at your same highschool and sitting next to you in class, to which no one would say anything and it frustrated you since highschool was one of your safe places but not anymore.

You tried to ignore Dick and Jason's attempts at stalking you, not because it was noticeable since you never saw them but the spider sense made you aware you were being watched and after a bit you were able to notice them following you.

Yes you did feel proud since you didn't have any detective training like the others but still knew who was following just by using the things around you.

You vented your frustrations with Clark and Conner and they did help by letting you skip school and everything but you had to go back to school or it would affect your attendance and damage your reputation and curriculum for future colleges applications.

But one fateful day, you went to a mission with Conner and Clark since they needed a third person but couldn't bring Jon since he was busy with school, so you went in his place.

During the mission you got ambushed, Conner and Clark were at disadvantage since the attackers (not sure on the term, the people that attacks) somehow had kryptonite weapons.

Plus you were also fighting, using the tasers and also the objects around you like rocks or trees.

Yes, you did throw a tree at a group of them and you also got Clark telling you not to do it again. Did you listen though? No.

As you were fighting you suddenly got stung by something in the leg, and when you touched the spot where it hurt you saw a small dart there.

You opened your mouth to call for Clark or Conner but someone covered your mouth and held you as you fainted while Clark and Conner had to flee since the attackers were too strong with the kryptonite.

The last thing you saw was the smiling face of Dick before completely giving in the drug you got injected in your body, not hearing them fight about who was gonna carry you in the batmobile.

Batclan and Catband (part 2)

Dinner ended up a relatively calm affair, or as calm as it can be with the batclan and the cat catband in one place.

"Where is elle actually?" Selina asks, leaning on the table with a grin.

"With her aunty harley and pam," he answers, phone in hand. "They're bringing her over soon, tho."

Dick, sitting opposite of Danny, perks up at that. "Your daughter, right? How old is she?"

The teen practically glows at the question, proud and not far from showing it.

"Become 2 recently! A gremlin in sheep clothes, truly. She knows how to get what she wants, a habit learned from her glam glam." At the last words, he gives catwoman the stink eye, huffing when she laughs at him.

"I have been wondering, how old are you, danny? If you don't mind." Bruce has an easygoing smile on, but Danny knows that glint in his eyes.

"Also freshly turned 18."

Both Selina and Danny watch the other man carefully, one hiding her sharp stare, the other openly showing it.

"Isn't that a bit young to become a single parent?" The man asks in concern, no matter he should be with emotions, mother and son recognise the tone of worry and relax slightly.

"Her circumstances of appearing in our life is not much to be desired. However, we are very happy with her joining our little family at that time."

Danny speaks fondly, smiling as he recalls the moments. "Selina helped immensely when needed and didn't shy from showering the little gremlin in love"

While the batclan would have loved to continue the conversation, Alfred appeared with a gentle smile.

"Master Danny, there is a guest waiting patiently at the front door for you, I'm afraid she might just run off with no one watching." He gives a very amused look at the members of the table.

He shoots out of his chair, letting the butler lead him out and about.

Once the teen is gone, does Bruce straighten his form and look at selina.

"What about the mother? Is there anything—"

"I'll stop you right there, bat dear." She holds up her hand, giving a sharp smile.

"While I'd rather not talk behind Danny's back like this," she gives the table a look, noting that every member seems to be in their vigilante persona.

"Elle doesn't have a mother, I won't explain any details without Danny's consent, but this is more of a Kon-El situation."

(Bruce, in particular, doesn't like how that info makes everything else snap into place, and the final picture isn't much better.)

"Kon-El situation– isn't she a toddler??"

"Why would anyone go for danny??"

"Was it Lex Luthor–?!"

Their questions were silenced by the sound of tiny footsteps running to the door and swinging it open with no grace.

The tiny being runs around the table, peeks over it to see where a certain woman is located at and sprint to her lap.

The father of said being isn't far from her, making sure she doesn't trip nor fall. Alfred closes the doors and flawlessly slips next to Bruce, the amused smile very much still present.

"Glam glam!" The tiny girl squeals excited, getting pulled up and seated, just in sight of everyone else.

She is like a carbon copy of her father, minus the gender, but at the stares she becomes quite shy, very endearing.

Danny sits next to them, grin on his face and gesturing to the batclan.

"Wanna meet your uncles and aunts, elle darling?"

hi! this might be a little self indulgent (and it's okay if you don't want to write about it♡) but i was thinking about how jason would comfort reader after she lost her job? or maybe him comforting her in any stressful situation

With a heavy sigh, you threw yourself on the sofa, sitting right beside your boyfriend, who curiously looked up at you from his phone.

Jason noticed your saddened eyes, burning so much from holding back tears, and the pout adorning your lips accompanied by your trembling chin.

“I got fired,” you said softly, answering the question he did not need to mouth.

Throwing his phone on the side table, Jason immediately engulfed you in a tight, long hug. He caressed his hands on your arm, giving you extra warmth as he peppered kisses on top of your head. “Oh, baby! You’ll be alright.”

You held on to him tightly in return, burying your face on his neck and letting a few tears slide. You were not going to cry over this, you were not.

For what might’ve been either hours or just a few minutes, Jason embraced you silently, letting you adjust and understand your emotions before speaking up.

“Do you have any plans?” he asked. Being your answer yes or no, he was already plotting a plan of his own. You gave your answer by shaking your head, not daring to lift it from its position. “Alright, we’ll figure things out. I’ll help you with whatever you need until then, okay?”

He pulled away, forcing you to look up at him. He looked at you with soft, careful eyes, eyes that brought you more warmth than his arms ever could. In it, he hoped you’d see that by whatever he meant everything. Everything you needed he’d do it for you.

He’d help you type and edit your résumé, making sure it looked appealing to whatever jobs you were after. He’d take you to all your interviews, always arriving early because it would leave a good impression of you. If you didn’t have much money saved, he’d have you eat at his house, shower, god damn it he’d even let you move in if it meant you wouldn’t worry about money.

He’d ask Bruce for tips to help you get hired, and if your job was something available within Wayne Enterprises, he’d quietly let Bruce know he should consider offering you a position (perhaps threatening him a little just for fun with a gun and full on Red Hood gear).

He’d be the best boyfriend ever because he’d make sure you were cared for during this period, feeding you, treating you to gifts and little outings to forget about job hunting just for a while. He’d also make sure you’d only accept a spot that he saw as valuable, not filler jobs just for the sake of it, but one that could really offer you a good opportunity, career growth and a nice future.

And when the day you arrive home, all happy and excited, rambling out words to let him know that you’d gotten a new job, he’d let out some tears. Proud of his girl, proud of you for never giving up.

Apparently my brain is just going to run along with various crossovers. Today, I bring you the thought of a John Wick fusion au (actually five differnet ones) with Batman/DC. (Again: a reminder that all my DC/Batman knowledge is fandom based)

Couple of thoughts for this.

The First: Janet Drake is one of the underworld's best. She's fantastic at manipulation and killing. She could walk herself out of a situation covered in blood, and convince people who saw it all happen that she never touched the body.

Tim grows up at her knee. He learns for the very best. And Janet teaches him everything she can- because despite the job and the crazy hours, and the travel, she loves her son. She wants to give him every opportunity to make it out alive from anything. Unharmed and not in trouble if possible, but alive most of all.

John Wick is a ghost story to the underworld. Tim has always been curious about people who could cause such a stir as his mother or John Wick might. When he meets him, he decides that man is Friend Shaped despite every sign saying Do Not. Despite every horror story saying it's a bad plan. (Much as he will later look at a story in a city of a cryptid said to be a manifestation of a city, a demon, a physical representation of all those who have died unavenged and decide the same)

More than that- John has ZERO idea how to handle Tim. He's a k i d. John's not gonna kill him for just...showing up all the time. It's not like he interferes or causes problems. In fact, he helps sometimes. Provides info, or a direction, a place to crash-

Tim confuses John.

Tim is also the very first to congratulate him, when he manages to get out of the underworld for Helen and mean it. To not even question the 'impossibility' of the Baba Yaga deciding he was done. John didn't bother to ask how Tim knew he'd left and why before the news actually broke out.

Tim watching John get out, go for it and SUCCEED is what gives him the courage to confess to his mother that he wanted to spend some time outside of the underworld, watching the curious case of Batman and Gotham. And Janet loves her son. So she arranges for it to be so.

They both know who Bruce Wayne is. Janet had figured it out before even Tim. She makes him promise that, if he needs her, he will call her, and lets him hunker in Gotham while he does what he wishes. She makes some trips back to Gotham, of course, but not so many that enemies can figure out there's someone important to her there. Janet is THE Femme Fatale. She has plenty of people who would go after her boy. And she's not having that.

Tim doesn't actually PLAN to get involved in vigilante life. At all. He's underworld born and bred. He's a survivor, manipulative, and can be a level of cunning and cold and ambitious that always makes his mother so so proud. He's not a do-right kind of person. He's not someone who does things for people outside of "me and mine" without a reason. Or if it goes against his moral code.

Except Jason Todd becomes one of "Me and Mine". He's a friend. A nosy vigilante who sees that his friend is alone and sets off his instincts as dangerous yes, but also as 'not a civilian' in a conventional sense. He's not a street rat, but he's not...normal either. And Tim? Tim, once he decides this Robin is his Robin, well he can't very well leave him undefended doing this ALONE can he? Though he understands by working with Robin, he cant use the tried and true methods of murder, as it could get pinned to Robin or Batman and he can't have that. If he wants to fly with Jason, he needs to fly by his rules. So a new vigilante is born that runs the streets with Robin. A little more vicious but in a cold and precise manner. Exacting. He doesn't let Jason go after his mother without doing the information gathering, and stops his death by Joker.

For a time, Tim finds himself pulled into the Wayne family, and he...thrives with them. He's happy. He learns under them. Expands his skillset, and still sent out to learn from people around the world. He is NOT fool enough to turn that away- his mother would somehow KNOW wherever she was if he turned down that kind of opportunity and he did not want to imagine the disappointment and response. NO THANK YOU.

When the underworld is kicked like a hornets' nest by John Wick coming back into the fold, Tim is...curious. He's kept an eye on John and Helen, if not stayed in direct and constant contact with them. He hadn't expected John to step foot back into the underworld.

And then his mother sends word to him, calls him back to the Continental, warns that the underworld is getting REALLY kicked up as a result. Tim...needs to go. He cannot imagine NOT answering his mother.

He arranges things on the Gotham end. Says temporary goodbyes and gets to the NY branch asap. Beats his mother there.

Makes it just in time to see John Wick pull a gun on Continental Grounds and shoot a newly crowned seat at the Table and is caught up in the chaos.

His family are going to end UP in the chaos themselves, because they will not cannot leave Tim in it alone. The connections Tim has are MUCH a surprise, he's done very well in hiding exactly what he used to do, and WHY he has a contact and hand in everything, and can ALWAYS get his family what they need. The Second: Tim Drake still grows up at Janet's knee. He learns it all. Thrives in it all. He ends up NOT going down the road of hitman or assassin or any number of things he could have done. Instead Tim Drake chooses to be a Information Broker that claims Gotham eventually, and by means of getting taken in by Bruce, the Wayne Manor and grounds around it become neutral grounds much like the Continental, if you want Tim's services to remain open to you. If you pull the underworld onto the ground...well. Just because Tim goes by Bruce's rules, and just because he PREFERS the route of nonviolence does not in any way mean he would not kill to protect it. To prove a point. To make a statement. To allow one to get away with it is to allow danger to his family and he WILL NOT, no matter that they all are perfectly capable of defending themselves. The Underworld is entirely different than their villains. To not kill the offender is to open themselves to weakness and targets. So Tim WILL.

Gotham is not Wayne Manor. The City is fair game to the underworld. Wayne Manor is NOT.

The Third:

Janet raises her boy at her knee still. Tim chooses the route of Doctor instead. He sets up in Gotham, and decides he likes the foolish vigilantes enough to step in when it's needed and save their lives. He becomes known to the Batfam as a Doc that will not ask questions, but is absolutely one of the most capable people they've seen. If Leslie isn't available, or not close enough, they go to Tim, if Tim doesn't find them, because he certainly seems to know when they need it.

The Batfam does sometimes find him having dealt with Some Things underworld involved so they are WORRIED about their idiot, despite the fact that Tim can and will Wreck everyone that causes problems in his area. He has also shown up stripping off blood covered scrub tops or whatever cause hes coming in hot from another healing thing, and they all wonder and worry and just- it's fine. Everything is fine.

They worry anyway.

Despite the fact that Tim has friends seemingly everywhere, from all walks of life, favors all over, and connections to seemingly everything as a result of his work. (He has absolutely been offered favors as payment, hits, assassinations and all sorts of things. He never turns them away. Janet taught him better. Instead he has markers and logs, books and written promises all stacked away. He remembers them all of course, but better to have written proof somewhere, something official. The Continental holds it for him.

The Fourth:

Gotham HAS a Continental Hotel due to all of its.....everything. Janet Drake runs it. Tim knows EVERYONE and everything, and has absolutely run the counter often. Bruce doesn't know what it is. Ra's absolutely does. Tim is the next to take over the branch and EVERYONE knows it.

He ends up occasionally, when people step on his morals, providing information to the Bat.

Jason managed to find his way inside by accident, and may or may not get himself heavily involved in the underworld even BEFORE the Red Hood thing.

The Fifth:

Same concept as 4 except BRUCE WAYNE runs the Continental and the ripples of everything therein.

Damian (Gremlin) Wayne and his even more gremlin-esque family pt.4

"Alright boys I'm-" Bruce freezes in the doorway, the pressure that was in his eyes before increasing tenfold-along with his headache-at the chunks of salmon and grains of rice that have been tossed across the room. His eyes surveying how they managed this before realizing Alfred isn't even in the room anymore...so that's why.

Bruce steps forward and narrows his eyes at Jason, the nineteen year olds right hand to be exact, glaring at the fork he picked up and was about to throw at Tim. "Jason Peter Todd, drop the fork! And you, Richard John Grayson, that plate is NOT a throwing disc-" icy blue eyes turn to give the youngest two children THE LOOK™. Tim immediately drops the knife he was about to throw while Damian lowers the salmon that he would absolutely be able to murder someone with down.

"What is all this? I thought this pointless arguing was behind everyone already?"

Bruce looks at each of his children one by one, his brows pinched together as he does so, the four boys looking away shamefully at causing their dad distress. Richard truly does feel sorry, he really does, but that small competitive spirit in him whispers something about taking this chance to gain extra points by being the bigger person.

"You're right, dad. I'm sorry for being childish and fighting with my little brothers this way." Richard holds back his victorious smirk at seeing Bruce smile at him thankfully, the man's shoulders lowering into something more relaxed at the quick apology.

"I forgive you-"

Jason narrows his eyes at the eldest...that little fucker thinks he's smooth with his tricks. Well, Jason-I Can Smell Your Bullshit-Todd is not falling for these childish tricks. Jason knows that him willingly offering to clean will set Bruce's alarms off, but if he gets up to silently initiate it, that will do just fine.

Alfred sips his tea in the kitchen, the man shoving cleaning supplies towards Jason when he comes in, choosing to ignore the confused look his grandchild gives him, of course he knew one of them was eventually going to enter the kitchen for supplies. Jason opens his mouth to question the older man on how he knew but closes it just as quickly and accepts the silent help before backing out of the kitchen.

Bruce looks towards Jason eyeing the cleaning supplies curiously. "Jason...are you preparing that for Alfred?"

Jason feels kind of embarrassed when Bruce actually looks at him, but he can play it off by scoffing and bending down to pick the food up. "No, I'm cleaning it. I was the one who threw most of the food anyway." Ha! Take that Dickhead! Is what Jason is thinking when he makes eye contact with the man, extra points for him at willingly cleaning and admitting his fault with the situation at hand. Bruce's eyes widen and he tries to hold back on praising his second eldest too much...sometimes the boy gives signs that he wants Bruce's attention and then when he gives it to him his child pulls away.

Which is why he keeps it simple with a proud smile at how open Jason is being and a fond look, "Oh? Well thank you so much, Jay. That is very kind of you and mature as well-" Bruce pauses in thought for a moment before saying what he wants to say, though with a bit of hesitancy-"You...have been working on your temperament a lot. I see it has been paying off...and I'm proud of you."

Call Jason Bonnie and Clyde cause he feels like he's been shot. Not in a bad way, but shot with love bullets...which honestly sounds childish and stupid to Jason, but it also means a lot! His heart feels like it's going to burst at the mushy, gooey feeling running through it at those gently and lovingly said words. Jason actually feels like shooting something because he feels so flustered, but this is beyond extra points for him-THIS. IS. EVERYTHING!

The nineteen year old just delights in Richard managing to stumble in place, he soaks up Tim's eye twitch and most definitely basks in the Demon Brat's ® murderous aura. This is a dream come true-what the hell does Timothy think he is doing?

Tim lowers himself to the floor near Jason and puts on cleaning gloves, letting them snap against his wrists while glaring at the older boy. "I-I'm so sorry for being a bother and mess...I'll help Jason clean up! And I'm sorry for trying to throw the knife at him, that wasn't right of me and I-I knew better." Oh...so Tim is playing his 'I'm so insecure, please love me' card...and shit does it tend to work! The little scheming weasel just smirks in victory when Bruce actually walks over and touches his head gently, "Look at me. You aren't ever a bother nor will you ever be one. You are still young and you are all brothers...I don't know what else I expected from leaving you all alone? But you said sorry and it's all good now."

Tim makes puppy eyes at Bruce and looks back at Jason, "I'm also sorry to you too. I shouldn't have been so violent."

Jason freezes at the look in Tim's eyes, the little brat knows exactly what he's doing by apologizing to him willingly on top of admitting his fault. If Jason doesn't answer...he will seem like a jerk and will no doubt disappoint Bruce if he doesn't forgive the other. Which is why Jason just stares at Tim before smirking and saying understandingly, "I forgive you. And I guess the knife throwing is payback for me trying to murder you in my Pit induced rage. We're even now."

The unexpected comment makes Tim smile and giggle, Jason also chuckling at being caught off guard by the younger boy's laugh, the two cough simultaneously at realizing that they are...getting along?

That is gross and Jason will definitely punch at his punching bag later while imagining it's Tim's face.

Damian watches this all unfold with a fiery look in his eyes, he knows his father will probably notice him and talk to him about apologizing or some crap like that...but he can't apologize to those bastard children, he's too proud for that. So, the boy decides to play his "I was literally raised by assassin's so there is most definitely a cultural difference here" card. Damian looks down at the salmon in his hands and smiles, impressed by his own genius while hopping down the chair and walking up to Bruce with a wide-eyed look, salmon held up to Bruce like a cat bringing an offering to its owner.

"Father! I thought this experience was most fun-" Damian tilts his head cutely and makes sure to smile big for his dad, making sure his chubby face is the center of attention-"Do you not usually have such riveting food fights?"

Bruce softens at the cute look but raises his brow at Damian, "No...we usually don't. Did you have food fights?" Bruce can't really imagine Talia or Ra's allowing that, but he also wouldn't be surprised if their food fights consisted of skin melting acid, hidden blades or poison somehow being in the food as a twisted form of training. Damian frowns and lowers his salmon somewhat while frowning sadly, making sure to turn his face down enough that all Bruce can see is his round cheeks puffed out into a pout, "Grandfather and mother would beat me or lock me away if I ever dared to. I want to apologize for making a mess , father, I promise I shall not disappoint you again!"

The boy looks back up at his father with a determined look, making sure his eyes show some sort of nervousness while doing so, delighting in Bruce looking at him lovingly. "Damian, you didn't disappoint me. You didn't even know better really, but now that you do I know you'll never do it again, yeah?" Bruce reaches his hand down to gently brush his thumb against Damian's cheek, finally realizing how dirty his son is, the man chuckles softly and borrows a few paper towels from Jason (who begrudgingly handed some to Bruce) and cleans up Damian's hand and face.

"How about we go get you cleaned up? I know you don't need my help to clean yourself, but I can run your bath for you if you'd like?"

Damian's eyes shine happily at the offer, his small hand slipping into Bruce's as they exit the dining room. "I would like that very much! You can even wash my hair...if you'd like?" Bruce smiles at Damian copying him and squeezes the small hand gently, "I would like that very much."

Jason, Tim and Richard watch flabbergasted at how the little demon managed to win again. Alfred's voice suddenly chimes in humorously from the kitchen, "How many points does he have now?"

The three boys groan loudly while planning the downfall of Damian Wayne.

(Bruce about Tim apologizing for attempting to throw a knife (that was most definitely at Jason): "But you said sorry and it's all good now."

Jason looking at Bruce confused: "He tried to throw a knife at me!!!"

This is a post made for my Birthday today! This was actually written on 2/29/24 at like...11 something in the morning I think and finished at 6:28 PM in the afternoon.

batfam wouldn't just realize it, they would already know about your situation from the start of their obsession. however, depending on the severity, they'll do it in different ways.

if the abuse is more verbal, they will definitely use it against you. every time you have a fight with your parents, it's an opportunity for one of the family members to sweet talk you to them. they are practically waiting for you to just up and leave, so that they can step in and act as your new family.

I would think that they would send dick out to you instead of anyone else, just because of how good of a manipulator he is. especially since the reader would probably be college age at this point, he would be able to act like an older brother to them and stray them away from their parents.

bruce would also definitly use his ability to act fatherly as well. every time you visit, and he knows you haven't had a good time with your parents, then he'll be more present then he would be say if dick was trying to talk to you. whether it be he'll congratulate you on your test score, or how he's proud of you, he knows that you crave validation from someone, and he's happy to give it to you.

other family members would be good at this too. tim would help you with your class work, and explain what he's working on at that moment. damian will show you new animals he's fostering and let you help him, even probably keeping one that you really liked to try to encourage you to visit often. cass, while very quiet, really tries to hang out with you and have fun with you. duke is just very happy and chipper in general, so it's not hard to talk to him. even jason, when he's around, is very nice to you in comparison to his own family.

alfred probably has your favorite, however, as every time you feel like you have no one to go to when you're feeling down, he's always there, and offers good advice. also, he probably has your favorite foods memorized so that's also another point.

when the time comes, eventually you will notice how you feel more at home with them than you do with your own family. which is exactly what they wanted. everything worked out to plan for them, as they wanted you to come to them on your own terms.

they won't drop the act once you go to them, by the way. because most of it had true intentions. of course, they'll make sure that you never knew that they were aware of your home situation the whole time. because then, their little, happy family picture of themselves will be ruined, along with your trust in them.

now, if the abuse was anything equal or above physical then yes, they would speed up the kidnapping process. it would more happen as in either they would have one of the family members who you knew more closely would take you aside one day to somewhere where you could talk.

they then would try to convince you as best as they possibly could, without revealing much detail on how they knew, about how you should leave them. that they have a place for you, where you can get your priorities straight and finally leave the household for good and be your own independent person (not actually what they were going to do, of course, just persuasion).

if it works, then they'll keep their word. you'll be taken to the manor, and given the utmost respect from the family. it's almost like a different, but better and new family. of course, you'll feel so loved and happy that you'll forget all about the whole talk they gave you, which again, is what they wanted.

if it doesn't work, they will spike your drink. they understand that you might have some concerns about their trust, but they can assure you that you are safe with them. again, persuasion from this family will work. they are going to keep you with them, until the end of time.

also, any of these situations they will get you a therapist. they might even act as if one of the family members is a therapist, probably barbara or duke, to bring you in closer to the family.

“Where’s everyone?” Bucky asked as he entered the main living area of the Avengers compound. There were a decent amount of people missing.

“Don’t know Buck.” Steve answered with a shrug of his shoulders.

“Pepper said something about the press.” Same spoke from his spot at the breakfast bar, eating a sandwich.

“The press has been after Nat and Y/n for months but last night they called an emergency meeting for the two.” Bruce explained to the confused group. Nat had to leave in the middle of the night to talk so he seemed to be the only one who knew so far.

Before anyone could say anything else Pepper Pots emerged from the elevator.

“Pep?” Steve said as a question, noticing Pepper took notice of the conversation. Hoping she could give them more.

Pepper sighed before comfiring. “He’s right. It was a private meeting between Tony, Nat, Y/n and myself.”

“What happened?” Bucky asked concerned about his new family and the girl he has a crush on.

“The press went public with something about Y/n’s past that were very private and very cruel. I don’t think she slept at all last night.” Pepper told them, further explaining the situation.

“Fucking bastards.” Sam scoffed in digust at the lengths the noisy pricks would go to.

“Langue.” Steve mumbled out not wanting anyone but Sam to hear him and get teased again. He still hasn’t lived down the last time.

“Tony says their back.” Pepper stated looking up from her phone at their friends as they entered the room, exiting the elevator. “How’s it go?”

“The press just gets worse with time.” Natasha stated shaking her head angrily.

Tony sighed, walking over to the fridge and grabbing a drink before standing next to Pepper. “We cleared the air and everything is fine now publicly, but some things said during the press conference to Y/n/n. They were-”

“Uncalled for. Rude. Disrespectful. I could go on.” Nat interrupted, fuming with anger.

“You okay?” Sam asked, looking concerned towards his Y/h/c-ed friend.

“There was this one asshole who wanted me to apologize…” Y/n shook her head shrugging her shoulders up. Letting out a deep breath, before looking at everyone and continuing. “I will not apologize for surviving. I lived. I always live. And I did my fucking best to keep eveyron eelse alive to.”

Y/n hated how just hearing what the reporter had said made her feel. Hearing her past, about the people she couldn’t save. She was trying not to let it show but she didn’t know how much longer she could hold it together.

“You shouldn’t and you don’t.” Pepper stated firmly.

“Don’t worry, I’ll have him fired in a matter of minutes.” Tony stated with a proud dark smirk. He was protective of Y/n, very protective. That asshole was not keeping his job.

“Thanks Tony.” Y/n smiled at the billionaire, finding it a little funny but also appreciating it. “I’m gonna go take a nap, I’m too exhausted from everything.”

She sent a wave and a small smile before heading down the hall to her room. Leaving everyone to their own devices. But Bucky watched her go and kept his eyes on the hallway for a while after. He knew she wasn't as fine as she was showing. Because he knows her.

So after a while of giving her space Bucky headed towards her room, not wanting her to be alone for to long knowing how she was probably feeling. So he waited about 15 minutes before knocking on her bedroom door.

“Hey, doll.” Bucky spoke once she opened the door.

“Bucky.” Y/n smiled at him but it didn’t reach her eyes.

“I just wanted to say.” he shifted on his feet nervously. Bucky had had a crush on her for awhile, and everyone was pretty sure that Y/n felt the same way. But right now he was concerned about how she was feeling emotionally. Bucky knew what she needed to hear right now. “I think your perfect. Even with all your flaws, you’re nothing but perfect.”

Y/n’s smile grew, not much but enough for Bucky to know she appreciated his statement. “Thank you Bucky.” She responded blushing.

“Your welcome, Doll.” Bucky replied with a soft smile and tinted cheeks from blushing also.

“You want to come in and watch some movies? I really need a nap but I don’t want to be alone right now. I could put on a movie.” Y/n offered softly, having a crush on him and not knowing exactly if he felt the same she was nervous he’d reject her offer.

“Sure. Of course Y/n/n.” Bucky smiled softly. Once Y/n opened the door wider, letting Bucky enter. Once he took off his shoes the two Avengers with horrible pasts got cozy in her bed. Y/n turned on a movie, it didn’t take long for her to fall asleep with the comfort of Bucky’s presence.

Honest to goodness, they both wholeheartedly believe that children aren't in their futures. So when Jason gets pregnant he's very much alarmed because how the fuck.

Dick, too, is lost because how. Also, who?

And Jason doesn't take offense to that, given their circumstances, but he swears it's only Dick. It's only ever been -

Jason being spooked and concerned that Dick won't react to the news well. And Dick is reeling, for sure. But only because they're pregnant? Yes. They're going to have a pup? If Dick wants to.

And Dick - even if he thought he could, he would have never actively tried, but now that it's here and happening? The fact that this is a miracle aside, Dick could never not want to do this.

His smile is brilliant, devastating. They're having a pup. A litter? A pup! ANd that reaction. That pure joy gives Jason so much peace of mind and assurance; it soothes so many of the fears and stress Jason would have been battling with.

Dick taking Jason's face in his hands, squishing Jason's cheeks as he kisses him. It's little more than a peck before Dick is on his knees marveling Jason's stomach and Jason can't help the sputtered laugh as his abdomen receives a similar kiss. He's peppered with them until Jason falls to his knees too and they hug each other and it's sweet.

Proud papa!Dick telling everyone about their pup, about how Jason is going to be a mom and Dick gets to be a dad. It both embarrasses Jason and makes him all warm

Intense family of bats going feral over the news because it's Dick and Jason's pup and it's the first pup their pack will get and Bruce in particular is intense because he's gonna be a grandpa, a grandpalpha? He's happy. Hugs for his boys. Especially because he knows they were convinced they would never have the option, the choice.

Jason being genuinely happy to be having a pup with Dick, but pregnancy is a long standing fear of his so Jason is stressed; Dick is there with him though. He's terrified of being a dad - as terrified as he is thrilled. They're in this together though; they've got one another. And their pack who won't leave them alone. Just them working through insecurities together and it's lovely.

So many belly kisses. Jason gets annoyed with it because hello, he's still here too. Dick laughing but smothering Jason with affections until Jason shoves him away because ugh alphas

Where Dick has a no strings attached one night stand with Jason

It's literally a one-time casual encounter, one time; a quick one and done fling where they both let off steam and resolve a ridiculous amount of UST between them it's good

Contrary to popular belief, Dick isn't actually the sort to do that kind of thing. Despite any efforts, he's a traditional alpha; something he's been playfully teased about by friends

So for him to do this? He's a little proud of himself ngl.

But lbr Dick fails at casual right away because he's already thinking about doing it again. Consistently. A committed friends with benes situation where they don't see other people

Anyway, Dick is happy with how everything played out. Feels better than ever.

Relationships never end well for him, but this thing he fell into with Jason? They both left happy and no one got hurt in the end.

Continuation to the above because Dick absolutely going through the full range of emotions from denial to acceptance; panic to excitement - all the feelings but ultimately tempering himself because Jason is very clearly going through his own thing and Dick needs to be there for him first and foremost as the baby daddy

Then it follows the usual storyline of the two of them deciding on what to do which is a rollercoaster of ups and downs and do we keep or not but what if this that and the other and they fall in love along the way and it's just a good time.

Y’know what? Jason deserves one non-traumatic win in my Reverse!Robins AU. I’m tying saving Eddie into the immediate follow-up to the Red Robin/”Bruce is ‘dead’” arc, and I’m using it to fully cement Jay’s relationship with Steph.

(Somehow this ended up a full overview of that relationship. Oops. Anyway, CW for allusions to the Tower fight, the Joker, & the Red Robin arc, and all the traumas one can expect to accompany those.)

After the fight at the Tower, Jason was a mess and trying to hide it. He could admit to Cass (can’t lie to Cass anyway) that Steph scared him, could admit to Damian that Jason wanted more training to ensure his own safety, could even admit (haltingly) to Duke that Steph wasn’t what Jason thought she’d be. But… Jason’s never been good at handling vulnerability, and on top of everything else there’s this irrational sense of betrayal, that the other batkids kept telling Jason how much he & Steph would’ve gotten along, how proud Steph would be of Jason, and it turns out that actually she hates him. Jason’s hero doesn’t care if he lives or dies, even if it’s by her hand. All of Jason’s siblings are fucking liars.  (Also, Jason doesn’t know what it’ll do to him if he opens up about his hurt, his conflicting feelings, his trauma, and gets brushed off. Everyone’s missed Steph so much, and it’s easy for Jason to imagine his pain being brushed off or downplayed as being at most a barrier to Steph’s return. It’s easier to just put on a brave face than find out the exact limits of his family’s love for him.)

Even after Gotham settles back into an uneasy peace, Steph the new power player & sometimes-villain reigning over Crime Alley, Jason avoids her. It takes Jason a few weeks to realize nobody seems to trust Steph around Jason; he hardly ever patrols alone anymore, and those patrols never go near her turf, someone always meets up with him if a chase takes Jason within spitting distance of the Alley, he’s not allowed on the few team-ups they have with her… and Steph is avoiding Jason too.

They do become more civil over a few accidental meetings. A few unexpected run-ins on patrol, where she basically ignores him. A few more where they have to work together, at least to win the fight. Jason decides to crash at a safehouse, Steph is already there (and a complete mess from a fight that went very, very wrong earlier in the evening), and Steph groans that she’s too tired to do this right now and can they please just ignore eachother and then never mention this again? A handful of times she rescued Jason from kidnappers, seemingly by accident, with slightly less plausible deniability each time. Once or twice Jason’s case found Steph in a rough spot and he jumped in to rescue her. The ear infection incident.  They can just about pass for friendly work acquaintances who’ve never beaten eachother so badly one of them threw up and then required emergency medical care.

(Steph does try to apologize at one point, when they were both getting a midnight snack from the same food vendor, getting as far as, “I refuse to let Batman & Nightwing set the standard for emotional honesty in my life, so I’m—” then a shootout started up a few streets over. She swore, shoved her burrito into Jason’s hands, and took off. Jay had to get Tim to tell him Steph didn’t fucking die, because she never even checked back in.) (Too busy doing emergency surgery on her own leg, and cursing that she absolutely is taking her emotional cues from Damian, because the idea of having that conversation when she can’t just disappear the second it’s awkward is more than she can deal with right now.)

Then the Joker happens. Steph stays at Jason’s side until he can walk on his own again. They have several tough conversations during that time, and there are moments when they both need space from eachother, but Steph rescuing Jason has basically turned her into a mental safety blanket for him, and Jason’s situation was close enough to Steph’s death that she needs to make sure he doesn’t die the same miserable way she did. She does go back to avoiding Jason for a while once he’s off his crutches, but only for a couple weeks (during which everyone guilts her for it,) before Jason tracks her down and shows up in civvies like, “Look, you can never see me again if you want, I just wanted to make sure we’re good. I mean, we’re cool now, right?”  (They both definitely still have hang ups & issues in their relationship, but yeah, they’re cool now. Or maybe it’d be more accurate to say they’ve been cool for a while, they’re just on the same page about it now.)

Bruce “dies.” The Red Robin arc happens. Jason gets stabbed, takes a dip in the Pit, calls Steph to ask her how to manage Pit Madness, which is why she was already on her way and in time to save him from… y’know, the other big traumatic thing that arc is known for.  I am going to cut Jason some slack and end the arc there. He already has his proof, Steph takes him back to Gotham, he crashes at her place while the Justice League tracks down Bruce. They have a Disney marathon and don’t talk about it over the most ridiculous ice cream sundaes they can make from supermarket supplies.  (Damian does find out, because he walked in on them talking around it when he stopped by to make sure they were both okay. Dami & Steph also end up having a heart to heart when he puts the pieces together and she runs after him to remind him not to take his anger out on the local criminals when he’s worked up like this. It’s only then, in the hall of a run-down apartment building at 4am, reassuring Damian that both Steph & Jason are going to be okay, that Steph realizes for the first time how small her big brother looks from her new perspective.) (Tank!Damian supporters DNI, that boy’s a beanpole, and Steph is already like 6ft tall without a Lazarus upgrade, she’s like 6′6 or something here.)

Jason reaches out to the Titans after Bruce comes home, and finds out that thanks to all Eddie’s dimension-hopping (and probably some weird timeloop/travel story arcs at some point, if we’re being real, it is comics after all,) even though Eddie & Jason were the same age when they met and Jason’s only just celebrated his 18th birthday, Eddie had apparently passed 20yrs of life at some point while Jason was gone and got dragged to Hell.

Jason will absolutely not stand for this. He calls Steph up and asks if she wants to help him bully the fucking Devil Himself.

13hrs later, Jason has his best friend back.  (Eddie’s just like, “Jay??? When’d you turn into a fucking giant? How long was I gone?!”)

Vampire alphabet with Dick Grayson

This is mainly based on the "DC vs vampires" run, so that why this version of Dick might come off as evil or even yandere-ish in some parts.

A - Accident - would they turn someone to save their life?

Yes if that means they'll join the vampire clan and serve to it. If they say they won't, well, Dick'll either kill them or make someone else do it for him.

B - Bite - how do they bite? Sensually, aggressively? Do they make it hurt or try to be gentle?

It depends. If he's fighting and his prey is stubborn then Dick will sunk his fangs aggressively into their skins, wanting to put them in place and harm them for being an annoyance.

If it's his partner or someone he wants to seduce, then it'll be more sensual with light and intimate touches, as well as gracing his fangs over thir skin so that they can get them them riled up and give themselves to him.

C - Control - do they take advantage of their powers?

Yup, he's a menace.

D - Dangerous - how scary they can get? How bad things can they do? What’s their ethics?

At first sight Dick looks like the seductive vampire, the charming and mysterious type that will steal your breath and sneak it's way into your heart.

And well, he can play that part really well, but there's also the side of him that's playful (in sick way), intoxicating and manipulative. He let's that part get the best of him, making him act like a sociopath with a huge ego.

The bad things he has done?

-Killed and brainwashed a bunch of high ranked superheroes and villains (including the jl members)

-Killed a bunch of heroes who didn't wanted to join his side, including his own family.

-Murdered his entire family (yes again, he ripped Bruce's heart out from the back and broke Tim's skull by stepping on it, also made Jason commit suicide, hello??)

-Caused a mass genocide amd with it whipped out like 90% of the human race.

-Mass destruction of ecosystems.

E - Exchange - do they opt for blood bags or animal blood, if possible?

Dick would lean towards blood bags, although he prefers the "fresh" blood. But he's not opposed to drink from them if the situation makes him to.

F - First bite - on what occasion would they bite you for the first time?

I already made some headcanons about it!!

G - Growl - are they more on the “civilized” side or do they enjoy hunting their prey down?

Dick loves the thrill of the chase, the adrenaline that it gives him and the satisfaction of seeing his prey laying death in front of him thanks to his own murder abilities.

Dick is subtle when he's chasing his pray, using the human facade to not draw much attention to him and wait for the best opportunity to attack.

Don't get me wrong, I do think he enjoys the most bolder and sadistic side of playing with your food and torturing it both mentally and physically during the haunting.

H - Hate - how do they feel about their kind? About themselves?

To Dick his kind is the most competent and worthy race out there, he wants to put the vampire race on top of everything else and make those other weaker races submit to them (even perish in the case they dare to refuse to follow him)

Dick doesn't feel remorse or even a pinch of guilt, he feels like a savior, the ultimate leader of a noble cause that only looks forward to better the lifestyle of the vampire race. He feels entitled, proud and hungry for more.

I - Intimacy - how fast would they let you close to them? Would they want to share with you what they are?

J - Joke - would they do pranks on other people with the use of their powers?

I can see the normal version of Dick pulling some dumb pranks on his family and friends, like sneaking up on them and scare them, appear out of nowhere. You know the silly stuff.

L - Life - do they wish they were human?

Are you kidding? Dick see humans as weak, stupid, unworthy. Their nothing but cattle and a source of food for his own kind, there's no way he wants to be like them.

You can say this is the "vampire disease" talking, since it seems like once you're turning all your emotions, thoughts and your whole personality in general is taken over and drastically changed to benefit and prosperity of the parasite.

And since Dick is on top of the chain, his brain is the most affected among all the other vampires. That's why his kind and sweet personality was overtaken by a ruthless and cruel one.

I do think that if the infection didn't had this kind of symptoms and Dick had the change to still be himself, he would miss certain aspects of being human, not all, but some like the fragility of mortality and how it made doing certain things a risky act.

K - Key - what’s the way of making them open up to you?

Probably submission, if let him have control then he'll believe you trust him enough and will be more nice to you than the others who defy him.

M - Murder - would they kill someone while feeding? Have they ever done so?

Usually Dick kills the person right before feeding off of them, it's easier and it makes drinking their blood feel like a reward.

However, I think might have killed a couple of people during sex since he gets carried away and sucks them dry.

N - Nature - do they justify their doings? Do they consider them natural?

In his mind eradicating the human race is normal, he's just getting ride of a inferior kind of life. It's like when you kill a fly, do you ever care about the life you just murdered? Not really.

O - Odd - do they have any specific hobbies or habits?

With this new ability of flying and transforming into a bat, I think Dick would find a way to integrate those into acrobatics and create new routines that challenge what he was able to do before when he was human.

P - Pain - are they sadistic? Do they enjoy what they do?

It brings him joy to see the despair and terror in the eye of his enemies, it's quite amusing.

If we're talking about sex, then it's pretty much the same. Vampire Dick might lean towards those kind of kinks that allows him to inflict some kind of pain and control over his partner:

I think Dick might find it quite funny to pretend to be human, play the part. It's an act, he's an actor and the world is his stage!

Apparently transforming into vampire chsnges your whole personality, so the old Dick can't even have a words on the turns his life has taken. He's death, trapped inside his body.

S - Scars - do they leave marks or try to make the wounds small and invisible?

I don't think Dick pays much attention to this one, his main two goals are feed and turn as much people into vampires as possible so the clan will grow.

Feeding scars tend to be more big and bolder than the ones used to turn people. They go from open mouth bites to deep and large wounds.

T - Turned - how were they turned?

I think the only canon source we have at the moment of Dick being a vampire is in "DC vs Vampires", however, they don't show this part which leads me to think that Dick was turned by a higher being in the vampire clan, like the Queen or that vampire leader that appeared in one of the agent 37 runs.

So wrapping this up, Dick was turned in one of his many missions as a secret agent, I mean, it happened and here's proof lol

He was enjoying this, no one can convince me otherwise. The man is a freak

U - Universe - what’s their biggest wish that they can’t achieve as immortals?

Honestly I'm not sure. Dick has godlike powers, is the leader of a powerful clan that has some high ranking members in the whole universe. So he can do almost everything.

V - Vampire - would they turn you?

Yup, i think i've established this many, MANY times in this alphabet. Dick wants to have more recruits, even if they can't serve as soldiers for the vampire cause. The more the merrier.

W - War - would they engage in fighting their own kind for the humanity’s sake?

He doesn't give a single fuck about humanity, in fact Dick started a war to erase it.

Y - Yandere - would they become dangerous to you (their lover)?

He's also extremely possessive of you, treating you like his property. This Dick will lock you up, use you like a baby maker and completely destroy your mental stability.

Dick is cold and calculating, he's aware of all the risk and what he has to do to minimize them. He's self aware, so perhaps it's not sanity what we're talking about, but humanity.

I think Nick does, in vague terms, but always complimentary. Never a bad word. "I loved your mother and she loved you" "She was brave and bold and smart" and "Your mother would be proud". Isaiah catches on fairly early on that his mom is a) not dead b) his father is still in love with her and b) she wasn't married to his dad and that all that is ~hot gossip~ but he doesn't push it bc he loves his dad and thinks this would be hurtful, but also would be a bit afraid of the answers too. [Town ladies talk, and plenty tired to leverage "the boy needs a mother" into being a stepmom married to the most important man in town but Nick rebuffed them all bc he's still evidently in Love with Ziggy. So they talk shit about her too and Isaiah is a good listener, good at being unnoticed when it suits him].

Nick probably scrounged up photos of Ziggy too, to give to Isaiah, which he keeps on his nightstand. Nick was *truly* bowled over by the love he feels for his child, he's the first Goode man to actually love and care for his son as a person and son and not a Pact necessary inheritance/failsafe. Which while great and motivating and fulfilling, also hammered home how little his dad cared for him as a person and how morally bankrupt he really was. Nick is sweating the Pact because he loves his son and wants to save Isaiah's soul and future and doesn't want him tainted by this. See Satan thought that accepting Isaiah as Ziggy's "sacrifice" to be allowed to leave Sunnyvale meant that it would effectively baby trap Nick into the Pact because the Heir is Right There and he can't leave because of the Pact, it really brought home to Nick that he would do anything to save Isaiah from that fate *and* allowed Ziggy to gear up a return that ends the Pact and does save Isaiah.

I think that Isaiah, like a lot of kids, has both the best and the worst of his parents in him. He's strong and smart and brave. And like them, laser focused and committed. Which is great when it comes to goals, less so when he decides you've wronged him and are getting Revenged. On the surface he does seem a lot like Nick, since that's who raised him, Sunnyvale polite, but he's never been Will or Sheila style. He's quiet and studious and very very observant. That comes from some of Nick's not great traits: despite trying to be better, a lifetime of isolationist secrecy rubs off and Isaiah gets fast that there's a lot Not Being Talked about and all about Nick's extreme idea of discretion and the particular Goode family Omerta. So he's likeable, and has friends, but they are shallow bonds. No sleepovers, he would never dream of it and Nick wouldn't let it happen either. But he's very very good and getting and gathering information, listening at keyholes, going unnoticed to spy and because of that slyly manipulative to get the info and results he wants. People don't notice, except maybe Nick. He's the nice popular guy, the one you wish you hated but ugh no he's sweet, but again he doesn't do deep bonds and if he feels you deserve comeuppance he makes sure you get it....... and that no one ever knows Isaiah is behind it. That laser focused dedication again. He seems like the typical carefree handsome straight A class president who is friends with everybody, but underneath he is tightly controlled and calculated, aware of everything and keenly insightful, and faaaaaaaar more anxious than he seems. It's a very Batman and Bruce Wayne situation, in fact probably what Bruce would have been if his parents lived, by putting on the expected persona of the wealthy scion of the elite that totally isn't weird or into Stephen King or constantly freaking out. Just like Bruce Wayne is himself neuroatypical and probably mentally ill, which is hard to tell with the personas and drives he has built, Isaiah has a LOT of generational/genetic curses (not just the Satan bit that still has some influence but addiction issues on the Berman side and the health consequences of longterm stress marginalization and poverty that we know are passed down from mother to child. Trauma lasts ages and both his parents have that and generations of terrible parenting to get them there).

He's also got that Berman passion and tension, so on the outside he and his dad seem ultra tight and agreeing, and while they are super close, they clash a lot behind closed doors (very, YOU DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO, GAWD DAD YOU ARE SO ANNOYING style, not like actual fights. Bratty teen stuff). And while he does follow Nick's lead on propriety and such, he has Ziggy's laugh and smile, and sometimes he'll make a gesture that's so Ziggy that Nick needs to catch his breath from the way it hits him so hard. The first time he laughed, not a baby laugh but when it was his distinct laugh, Nick heard Ziggy and almost cried.

Oofta. I woke up sweating and somehow I knew chapter 22 was up, and I was right.

When the first sentence said that she was too warm I immediately knew she was in Bruce’s arms. I was cheering. I love that they were sleeping faced together and practically sharing a pillow. It seems so them. I imagine that they would both want to sleep facing the other one to look at the others face. To examine them. To make sure everything is okay. When she thought it would be weird if he woke up and saw them like that I wanted to lovingly shake her.

I don’t know if he woke up and saw them like that. I imagine if he did his heart would swell in his chest. He’s not used to feeling this way—so calm and at ease. Peaceful. He’d definitely freak out though. He’d think he crossed a line in his sleep and that she wouldn’t want them to cuddle like so if she was awake.

I’m a big fan of her changing his bandages. He’s definitely used to doing it on his own. Sure Alfred patches him up, but Bruce wants to do the rest on his own. He wants to be self reliant and having other people take care of him is something he’s not used to. Also her love language is definitely acts of service.

I love the panic she felt when she realized Alfred saw them sleeping in the same bed. I just know my favorite butler felt so happy to see them like that. I bet he wanted to take a picture. I just know he was fan girling about his two favorite chaotic dumbasses cuddling.

I love her drive to continue their investigation. Bruce is out while he recovers from his stab wound, so it’s up to her to figure out their next step. She didn’t even hesitate. I’m sure Alfred saw her heading out in dark clothes, and when he heard her excuse, he didn’t buy it. He’s been living with Bruce his entire life. He knows she was up to something.

Lena! I love how desperately she wanted to warn Lena, and how quickly she changed when she realized Lena knew something. She became hostile and a bit aggressive. Bruce would be so proud and probably a bit concerned. Also a fancy gala full of rich people! My favorite. I since I gala scene with Bruce being forced to socialize in our future.

Her listening outside Bruce’s door to her own suffering made me emo. Bruce is definitely going to play that back, if he hasn’t already, just to torture himself. I love when she opened the door she couldn’t decipher his face. He’s feeling so many things actually watching everything from her pov. Guilt, anger, shame and fear even though he knows she’s okay. I love how angry he got when he realized she went back to the Iceberg Lounge, and I love her reaction to his anger. She was just like “yeah yeah, I know it was stupid.” I feel like their future relationship is going to be a lot like that. One person getting mad at the other for putting themselves in danger. And person two being like “I know it was stupid but…!” I also adore how she was like “technically I wasn’t near it.” Loophole baby! Bruce is definitely sighing on the inside. His heart is definitely pounding. He can’t believe she would do this, but at the same time he can.

I love how soft he ended up being. He doesn’t want her going back there. He can’t have her going back there. The risk is too high to her, and he wouldn’t know what to do if he lost her. He would lose himself in anger and grief. He’d drown in it. I’m so relieved, as I’m sure Bruce is, that she accepted his offer to pay off his debt. I know he offered it once before. Things are different now. She almost died. I know she doesn’t want to accept it. She doesn’t want to be indebted to another person, even if it is Bruce. But at the same time she wants out of that place, and she knows, realistically, going back would be a death sentence. I love how she didn’t know how to respond to Bruce with how grateful she is, so she just cracked a joke. When in doubt, crack a joke. That’s my motto. Any situation calls for a joke.

I love how the chapter ended with her being like “here’s why you should’ve left me.” I know it took Bruce by surprise. Of all the things he may have been expecting her to say, it was not “you should’ve left me to save yourself. You almost died because of me. You should’ve just left me to save yourself.” Bruce is definitely reeling from that one. He has so many emotions and feelings about it. I know she left the room before he could respond. But holy shit. I can’t wait for him to be like “I’d rather die than to have to live without you.”

Chapter 22 was amazing! And chapter 23 tomorrow? You’re really keeping us fed god bless. I know I say it every chapter, but I love this story so much! You truly are a talented writer. Thank you so much!

also sorry if my response seemed a bit weird and/or lacking. I did wake up sweaty and was like “I should read chapter 22 if it’s up.” I work before the sun is out on the weekends, so I went to bed early. It took my mind a while to wake up and respond to the chapter. That being said, I may not say anything about chapter 23 when it’s posted. I just want you to know that I will a) love it dearly and b) obsess about it and over analyze certain things and theorize. I also want you to know out of all the things in my life, I am a-okay getting less sleep because I’m reading and responding to this story.

Chapter 39 of TB made me happy, I cried tears of happiness and relief. During reading the first paragraphs of the chapter I needed a short break because of the tears in my eyes. I'm so glad that Loki is with y/n now. They're together again and like every time they're the cutest 🥰. And Loki is everything 🥺💚. What a liberating feeling for y/n to put her arms around Loki again, to see him, to feel him, after all what happend on that day.

It's cute how they care for each other, y/n is concerned about Loki's bruise, Loki is concerned about y/n's empty stomach😍...that's how it should be 🥺☺️. It made my eyes tearing up when y/n said, she hadn't taken care for Loki because she didn't know anything. It's simply not true, she was always there for him, did so many things for him...and Loki saw and felt it all and she needs to see it too.

More confidence and self-love is what she needs, all of this was destroyed by the abusive people around her all these years and Loki will help her to become independent and self-confident. And he wants her to be like that ' He loved your timid submissive form in bed...he wanted to keep it sexual that way, he didn't want you to feel like he owned you or your life...You have had enough of that all your life...he didn't want you to do stuff for him...He wanted to make you stronger...to do things for yourself...'

you have some of the most gorgeous descriptions i have ever encountered: "Puddles grew bigger, their reflections mirroring the colors of the city, catching the lights of the buildings, the streets. Until they reached the sky, where a clouded moon hung above." I'm in love. the movement in this story is incredible. i can see the city and the people and the action so vividly from the way you describe it. i'm enamored and also devastated because jason being vulnerable and actually trying to talk about it took me out. i could barely read it with how deeply emotional it was. i just love this story so so so much. and the amount of work you put into it, i cannot even fathom. THANK YOU!!!! there's something kind of heartbreaking (and maybe painfully ironic) about jason's almost-mantra to jess being "trust me" when trust was what he gave to bruce so unconditionally until it killed him and then some. i have absolutely no clue as to how jason could avoid crane's instruction at the end. the plotwork is god-tier as is the character depictions and literally everything else. the way that jessica is ornery and prickly and generally unpleasant just gets to me because it's so well done and i love that about her character which balances the centre she works so hard to protect. and the trauma. the realism of that hits home with the way it seemingly comes from the most innocuous things as reminders and sinks deep. i was wondering, and feel free to ignore, but what made this one the devil chapter? what was it about the switching POV - which were really great btw?

I guess this chapter was tough because I needed the conversation to go in a certain direction, but I also needed everyone to stay in character. There were moments when writing Jason where I was like, "He sounds too much like Dick here" or moments with Jess where I have to stop and rewrite because it was something she wouldn't do in that situation. I try very hard to be true to the characters, so the switching POV's threw me off a bit, and I lost count of how much alternative dialogue I wrote for this one lolol.

This, doubled with the fact that there is a lot of plot, and there are a lot of layers to it right now. Everyone has their own agenda; Jason wants his plan to go off without a hitch, Jessica wants answers, and Bruce wants to figure out who hired her. And I feel like it's just a three way game of rock-paper-sissors with everyone choosing a different item (or at least, that's the idea I'm *trying* to pull). I have the outline, but actually writing it is a whole other thing, and with this being my first fic, it's a lot of work and energy 😅

Tbh, it's probably why I'm leaning towards reader fics in my other works (I don't have to worry about staying in character when the character *is me* lolol)

Buuut, that being said, I know all of the buildup is gonna be worth it in the later chapters 😈
