Channel Letters 101: What You Need to Know to Select Yours
Tumblr media
Outdoor signs are important for advertising your company. Businesses view simply being noticed by potential clients as a win. One of the most popular and efficient outdoor business signs in the market is channel letters. These placards are frequently placed on storefronts to draw in both new and returning customers.
If you’re not sure what kind of custom channel letters to choose, at Michigan Custom Signs, we will assist you in making the best choice for your business. In this article, we’ve summarized everything you need to know about this outdoor signage.
What Are Channel Letters?
Many businesses have these signs as part of their exterior signage. They are composed of a graphic element with a unique structure and large, mounted letters that have a striking, three-dimensional appearance. They can be made of steel, aluminum, or acrylic, which usually means that they are durable and reasonably priced.
Whether illuminated or not, channel letters are striking thanks to their bold lettering. LED lighting fixtures mounted to the back of the letters allow for their internal or external illumination.
The Basic Types of Channel Letters
The misconception that all channel letter signs are the same is one that many business owners have, but there are actually several choices available. Custom channel letter signs come in a variety of options and designs depending on your brand’s preference.
Front-Lit: The most common kind is this one. The faces of each channel letter are illuminated by LED bulbs or neon lights. This choice offers a great deal of customization because of the materials used.
Halo-Lit: Halo-Lit is the best option for sign projects that call for a distinctive and one-of-a-kind appearance or brand image. Channel letters with halo lighting are illuminated from behind the letter. They don’t have faces, though, and each letter is surrounded by a light halo.
Front/Back-Lit: This kind of signage combines channel letters that are front-lit with halo lighting. The end result appears quite posh. For instance, this choice really stands out if you are considering a sign with a red illuminated face and a white halo effect.
Open Face: Aluminum makes up the sides and back of the pen-lit channel letters. These signs are typically lit by neon rather than LEDs. The sign face is also either devoid of a sign face or transparent to allow the exposed neon light inside to shine through.
Installation Options
When buying, you choose the kind of mount you require for your channel letter signage. There are three main ways to mount channel letters: flush mount, raceway mount, and backer mount.
Flush mount: This is the most common mount. It gets its name from the fact that the letters are mounted directly to the building’s face. With this option, the power source and electrical wiring are housed behind the bulkhead wall. Standoff spacers provide separation from the surface for back-lit letters.
Raceway mount: Raceways are containers that hold the electrical components (wires, power supply, etc.) for the individual letters neatly and safely. Raceways are also often painted to match the color of the sign band or storefront. This method ensures that it fits in with the brand guidelines and the surrounding architecture.
Backer mount: This type of mount is more commonly used for illuminated channel letters. The channel letters are attached through a pre-made opening in the building’s frontage or mounted atop the backer board in this option. The electrical hardware and power supply are either housed in the backer cabinet or are located behind the facade or bulkhead wall.
How Much Do Channel Letter Signs Cost?
For any type of signage, there are several factors to be considered like the size of your channel letters, its type, the kind of material you want to use, whether your sign will be illuminated or not, how will your sign be installed, and maintenance costs. Each of these factors should be considered when you are making a budget plan.

ladies and gentlemen this is ask dump no. 5
aw scrap here we go again!
answered asks include body modification as the opposite of empurata, Mutacons making bandages out of kibble, kibble used as furniture, numbers of Sweeps, a DILF alligator, RID15 Tidal Wave, a BIG infodump on dealing with the circus that is Iacon’s media, Cybertronian muppets, a WIP of Elita Infin1te (or rather her sword), and the many secret sufferings of Alpha Trion.
Tumblr media
yea, sorta! body modification in SNAP is more limited than in canon. you can’t simply switch out your body like the total frame reformats of IDW or TFP, and losing a limb can be permanent if not healed in time. for the most part, the frame you have is the frame you’re stuck with, and those frames fall within specific parameters.
HOWEVER-
some modification and upgrades do exist! the most prominent here would be a prosthetic helm like Lugnut. if the processor is left intact and attached after a helm injury, a new helm can be sculpted, with extra optics to make up for the lower quality of artificial optics, and as visibly different as possible to differentiate from empurata. other replacements and prosthetics are common after debilitating injury where the original body part cannot be saved. whether or not the prosthetic is as good as the original depends on the individual and the specific injury. there are also functional medical upgrades, like thicker armor attachments, alt mode additions, etc. almost every upgrade is for the express purpose of improving one’s frame for their function, and there’s definitely a limit to them. you can’t give yourself new limbs if you only had four to begin with. a grounder cannot become a flier. the spark can only power so much mass in the frame, and some people have adverse reactions that mean the upgrades don’t take and must be removed.
this sort of relates to the next point here-
Tumblr media
yes, with some caveats.
Cybertronians are a segmentary species, so they can detach some body parts for a bit without negative consequences, as long as that body part is reattached for revitalization and repair. many folks can do this without any medical assistance for the less integral kibble. for instance, Kup uses his tow arm as a walking stick, but he has to reattach it whenever he wants to go into alt mode, and if he doesn’t transform he still needs to reattach it for a couple hours every day at minimum. so if a Mutacon were to create a makeshift splint out of kibble and detach it, it would likely be fine, as long as they got that kibble back. otherwise, they’ve lost a whole chunk of their body that they can’t just regenerate.
for shifting armor to cover a wound without detaching it, that depends on the nature of the wound. if it’s ragged, large, or in areas with a lot of joints or movement, it might be difficult to shuffle around plating to cover it. a more superficial injury in a less delicate area would be easier
Tumblr media
sort of! it’ll depend on the individual’s kibble, of course! double checking SNAP Bulkhead, i don’t think he could, because his kibble isn’t large enough. but Scylla could probably use her alt mode arms as a chair, Wreck-Gar has a built in backpack and belly bag, and of course the Necrobot uses his wingcloak as hands. different kibble with different bonus uses
Tumblr media
the ideal number of Sweeps is seven, since less than that means they don’t have enough collective processing power to function optimally. more than seven, however, puts a strain on that collective processing power to smoothly operate so many at once. so there’s usually packs of as close to seven as they can get.
as to how many can just exist at the same time, it’s limited only by how many Scourge is willing to forge. he first invents them in s1e06 A Use for Army-building! An Upgrade to Sweeps. by the next episode they figure out that having dozens of them running around is... well it’s about as chaotic as having dozens of flying puppies with hands and weapons would be. in large numbers they’re very difficult to control. good thing Galvatron is excellent at commanding his new army!
Tumblr media
(the post this is referring to) @oldboyjensenhinglemeier thanks Dilf Waitress, i can always rely on you
Tumblr media
(the post this is referring to) i think that’s fantastic, i’d love to see a Cybertronian whale. imagine the size of the holding cell you’d have to have for him!
Tumblr media
oooohohoho what a sticky subject. here’s a quick rundown on faction ideology to give you some context for how they operate and thus deal with the media. the heroes aren’t referred to as heroes, but rather as vigilantes at best and violent gangs in a turf war at worst. Froid has remotely diagnosed them with pathological dissent. at the same time, some folks have jumped on the market to make hero merch, and it becomes a very lucrative business for some. public opinion is constantly torn between fear and anger at how they do whatever they’d like and gratitude and admiration for how they throw themselves in harms way to prevent disaster and save people. it’s really a giant mess all the time that changes by the day.
there is of course the whole snafu surrounding the media’s portrayal of the Elite Guard as a backup team for the Autobots, and Elita 1 as Optimus’ sidekick. and Elita 1 is Not Happy about that. Elita 2 is startlingly good at winding the reporters around her little finger and always seems to know just what to say, whereas Elita 3 just grumbles at the cameras, even sometimes demanding they respect boundaries or be locked in the nearest building with the use of her powers. Elita 4 barely notices them unless she’s in the mood to prank someone, and Elita 5 just avoids them, as they tend to dramatize her size and thus her danger. given their excellent teamwork and how they’re (mostly) in favor of reform instead of anarchy, the Elite Guard would actually have a good shot at getting along with the news, except they bow to precisely no one, including the people wanting to interview them, so instead they come across as a standoffish and self-serving clique with dangerous habits
the Decepticons are in the bad-boy limelight and they love it. well, at least Galvatron, Hellscream, and Thunderblast do. Galvatron takes advantage of every opportunity to pontificate on the evils of society and the right to rise up for freedom. broadcasters have learned to cut the cameras as soon as he starts speaking so his ideas don’t get the chance to spread too far. Hellscream cares less about principles and more about scaring the living daylights out of every reporter he sees, often leaving them with cracked equipment and ringing audials from the sheer destructive power of his voice. Thunderblast just wants to preen in all the attention and boy does she get it. Cyclonus actively avoids most gawkers, Scourge talks too long and complicated to make good news, Drift either ignores them or sends them away with some lofty spiritual advice, and Triptych is dangerously unpredictable so most reporters have learned to stay away from him.
the Predacons came into existence in a negative light, and they were grimly prepared for it. after all, Sixshot used to be a Decepticon, and their falling-out and defection caused quite a stir. when Abominus first appeared, the fearful reaction of the public to such an ‘abomination’ is actually how he chose his name in the first place. Airachnid loves tormenting reporters with nuclear-grade sarcasm and subtle threats, but if anyone makes her truly mad she’ll string them up in her web cabling and leave them hanging. she also flaunts that cabling by using her darts to knit nets, shawls, and other decorations, despite the fact that getting cabling tangled up in seams and joints can lead to something called entrapment protocols, mentioned in the seventh ask here. Enforcers use capture equipment designed to trigger entrapment protocols, so her mimicry of that as nothing more than a casual accessory is a big ‘frag you’.
Soundwave.... is a category of his own. he only comes into being in the fourth season, but the media soon learns to quake at the thought of encountering Soundwave, and his minicons are little better. there’s at least one instance where he Rosanna-rolls the entirety of Iacon.
the Autobots keep wavering between ‘the only true good ones of all these vigilantes’ and ‘the worst possible people in the world, hide the children, lock the doors’ in the eyes of the media. Optimus does his best to treat everyone fairly, and the Mistress usually has something encouraging to share. much like Galvatron but for completely opposite reasons, broadcasters have learned to cut cameras when Ultra Magnus starts talking, because his encyclopedic knowledge of law means he regularly lists every instance of malpractice, abuse, illegality, and disrespect that he sees in the average reporter, Enforcer, or politician, which is not the kind of upbraiding that would serve the propaganda machine. however, it does get him the attention of Tyrest, who leverages legality and public opinion to try and draw Ultra Magnus into an agreement during s3e03- A Councilmember’s Boon! An Upgrade to Legality. Rodimus is a chaos beast who has been known to snatch cameras for selfies. it’s kind of a tossup as to whether Cheetor will be going slow enough to show up in the footage or not.
now, i can’t talk about the media without mentioning the feral force of nature that is Rewind. the best of the best, he’s the only one willing to brave the battlefields for an up-close look, constantly endangering himself in order to get the freshest scoop. he might not always hold opinions in line with the mandated propaganda about these vigilantes, but the media lets him get away with it, since he’s the most successful at getting them more news. this has caused him to be targeted at least once, unfortunately.
Tumblr media
love this question. love it. you know those lil remote controlled robot dogs, or things to that effect? i’m imagining that’s what Cybertronian muppets are like, since they can create robotics and animatronics with a lot more finesse and ease than we can. in fact, making fabric is probably harder for them than robotics, since they don’t have the same materials as we do to work with. but anyway, these muppets wouldn’t be limited by what a hand can do to puppet them around, being instead remote controlled from off stage, so i don’t know if they’d have that kind of visual gag. maybe instead there would be fourth-wall breaking where one muppet snatches the remote of another?
Tumblr media
the painful thing about this answer is that i have a design i’m happy with EXCEPT FOR THE HELM i have sketched and resketched a dozen different ideas ugh. the body looks fine, all five of them combined in a way that makes sense to me, but i just CANNOT get the helm right i’m so angry. anyway here’s the Cyber Caliber, all of their swords combined into one massive weapon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the more accurate question is, what hasn’t happened to him. he’s been through a lot, the poor mech. but i’ll list some things for you:
that one time he had a sibling be erased from reality
that one time he had to murder another sibling because they decided evil was fun
that one time a fragging beachball stole his work
the fact he doesn’t know if his twin is alive or not
that one time he was a junker running for his life
that one time he was too late to save the Terminus Blade, and it was stolen
that one time his pride and joy, the Athenaum Sanctorum, was destroyed, and everything archived there was lost
that other time the same fragging beachball stole his work
that other time he was a junker hiding for his life
the fact that the theft of his diary started a whole new branch of religion and he has to read his own words as if they’re sacred
the fact that the title of Trion was in fact derived from his diary, and the sheer painful irony of being given the title of Trion.
that one time he had to rip off some fingers to fit in
that one time Trypticon showed up, awhile before the JAAT was founded, and he had to take it on alone
that other time Trypticon showed up when the JAAT opened and he had to hand out some precious relics to children to protect the school
aaaaand his current reason for drinking! the fact that of all twenty-something heroes running around, he only knows who THREE of them are because he only gave out THREE RELICS! and relics just keep disappearing from the collection he’s guarding
someone help him he is not having a good time. and it’s only going to get worse...

I (accidentally) rewatched the entirety of s1 of rebels recently (in my defense it is utterly flawless and possibly the best star wars content out there) anyway, when I was at the part where ezra is in the jedi temple on lothal and sees the inquisitor killing the rest of the crew his family I thought: what if that was kanan? and then this happened. (ao3 link in the source)
rating: teen, warnings for (non-permanent) character death and violence
---
Kanan was running.
Somehow, the Inquisitor had found him on Lothal. The pau’an had ambushed him at the Kothal market during his supply run and Kanan had barely escaped with his life. As market stalls had tumbled to the ground around them, the people of Lothal had screamed and fled in fear. In the panic and confusion he’d lost both the supplies and his lightsaber, so now he ran.
He just had to make it to the Ghost, and then Hera could fly them all away to safety.
He raced across the plains, prey fleeing from a predator, the waist-high grasses whipping his legs and threatening to entangle his ankles. He somehow managed to stay ahead of his pursuer, but he could feel the Inquisitor gaining on him. He tried to increase his speed, but his legs wouldn’t move any faster through the grass.
By the time he reached the ship, he was barely holding onto his lead. Panic was rising in his chest.
“Hera, take off!” he shouted, racing up the ramp. He came past Zeb coming the other way.
“I’ve got your back, Kanan!”
Kanan heard the hum of his bo-rifle activating. “Zeb, no!”
He was too slow to stop him. The clash of the staff against a lightsaber reached his ears from behind, and then his friend’s strangled yell. He turned just in time to see Zeb’s body hit the ground at the base of the ramp.
Kanan stumbled backwards, looking up and into yellow glowing eyes. The Inquisitor’s mouth split into a cruel grin that revealed rows of pointed teeth.
“Hera!” Kanan yelled again desperately. Why wasn’t she starting the engines? Couldn’t she hear him?
His flight instinct took over and he made it to the ladder, scrambling up it. As he passed the nose gun, Sabine ran onto the balcony, blasters out. He opened his mouth to tell her to stop, run, go back, but she was already shooting at the dark figure emerging below. With an almost lazy flick of his saber, the Inquisitor sent the bolts straight back to her. Her body crumpled to the deck, the holes in her bodysuit smoking. Her armour had always been too small for her; she’d left Mandalore too young to have a full-sized suit.
With no way of his own to fight back, Kanan kept going up. At every rung he fought against the pain of knowing his family were sacrificing themselves for him. He made it to the top of the ladder when he heard something that made his heart drop through his feet.
“Stop right there!”
Kanan looked down to see Ezra advancing on the Inquisitor, who had stowed his lightsaber and was about to step onto the first rung of the ladder. The pau’an turned to snarl at Kanan’s apprentice. A black-gloved hand shot out, fingers twisted into a claw, and Ezra was sent flying backwards. He hit the bulkhead with a sickening crunch and hung there, suspended for a moment, before the Inquisitor dropped his hand. Ezra fell to the floor. He didn’t move again.
“No!” Kanan screamed.
The eyes were back on him, and it was like his whole body was being drenched in fire and ice, the terror all-consuming. He fled upwards into the cockpit where, with a rush of relief, he saw Hera was already in the pilot’s seat.
“We have to go, now!”
“What is it, love? What’s happening?” She stood up to meet him in the middle, relaxed and ignorant of the slaughter below.
“It’s the Inquisitor, he found me. We have to take off!”
“But he’s already on the ship.” If she knew that, why was she being so calm? “You should take the Phantom and get yourself to safety.”
He nodded; she was right. “Yeah, okay, let’s do that. Come on, let’s go!” He took her hand and dragged her to the door that led to the rest of the ship, but she resisted.
“I’ll hold him off so you can get away.” She took her blaster out of its holster.
“No, we can fight him together!”
The pale, elongated head was already coming out of the hatch.
“Kanan, we cannot win this battle… You must run.” Her voice sounded different. She pushed him through the door. “Go, I’ll be right behind you.”
Her blaster was raised and her body half turned towards the cockpit, but she was still looking at him. She didn’t see the dark shadow moving behind her, and he was too frozen with fear to warn her.
Her lips parted in a silent cry as the red blade blossomed from the center of her chest. The light faded from her eyes, and Kanan felt agony rip through his entire body as he watched.
“No! Hera! NO!”
The blade retracted and she sank to her knees, still staring sightlessly up at him. Slowly, she tipped sideways, landing on the deck in a sprawl of limbs and lekku. Dead, like the rest of his family.
He hadn’t been strong enough to protect them, any of them. They had given their lives to protect him, and now it was his fault they were gone. He wasn’t even worthy of their sacrifice.
The Inquisitor stepped over her lifeless form, advancing on him. He stumbled backwards, barely staying on his feet, trying to keep the distance between himself and his hunter. His back hit the closed doors at the other end of the corridor.
Was there any point in fighting back, now? What was left to live for?
The lightsaber ignited again, and with a snarl, the Inquisitor lunged forward. As he watched death coming for him, he screamed, for he realised that even after everything he was still a coward. He didn’t want to die.
The lightsaber slashed downwards. Everything went black.

His throat hurt. His muscles ached. Fear – no, terror – permeated every cell in his body. Something sharp was digging into his shoulder. He was screaming, a wordless shout that continued seamlessly from where he’d been a moment before. That was why his throat hurt. He stopped, but it still felt raw. He heaved a gasping breath.
He was in his bunk on the Ghost – no, Hera’s bunk. The sheets were twisted and wrapped around him, and his whole body was covered in sweat. Had he been dreaming? No, it was too real. They were all dead. His family were dead, and it was his fault, and he was dead too–
“Kanan? Kanan, wake up! It’s just a dream, please, love, you’re dreaming, wake up.”
Something was shaking him, and he realised the pain was from fingers gripping his shoulder.
“Hera?” he asked hoarsely, because even though it couldn’t possibly be her, he’d recognise that voice anywhere.
“It’s me, love, I’m here.”
A soft hand cupped his cheek and turned his head to look at–
“Hera!”
He dived at her, wrapping his arms around her blissfully warm body, the forcefulness of his movement nearly taking them both off the bed and onto the floor. He didn’t care. He squeezed her tightly, feeling how alive she was, how real, clinging to her like a lifeline.
“You’re alive,” he whispered, rocking backwards and forwards, not letting her go. Tears streamed down his face, tears of relief and pain and love and fear.
“It’s okay, it was just a nightmare, you’re okay now,” she soothed, stroking his back with one arm – the other was trapped between them and unlikely to escape from his vice-like grip on her. “I’m okay. Everyone’s okay, you’re on the Ghost, we’re all safe, there’s nothing to be afraid of here.”
“It was – s-so real –” he choked between sobs. His whole body was shaking now, but she continued to stroke his back and just let him hold her.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
He shook his head, burying his face in her shoulder. She pressed a kiss to the side of his face and her hand moved to his head to stroke his hair. Everything about her comforted him; the shape of her body, the way it physically pressed against him, the smell of her skin, the smooth glide of her hand over his head, the soft murmuring of her voice in his ear. Hera made him feel safe in a way that no person or place had since he was fourteen.
Eventually, his heart rate slowed to something nearer its normal pace and his breathing evened out. He loosened his grip on Hera and allowed her to find a more comfortable position, but didn’t completely let go of her; he wasn’t ready for that just yet. The fear and grief from the nightmare still lingered, tendrils of darkness lurking in the corners of his mind, but he felt somewhat in control of himself again. The dream may have been all of his worst fears rolled into one, tortuous visual, but it was just that; a dream. It wasn’t real.
He breathed in and opened himself to the Force. Immediately he felt Hera beside him, her presence blazing with love and a fierce protectiveness. Expanding his awareness outwards, he felt each member of his crew; his family. They all slept soundly, their Force signatures calm and muted, dreaming their own dreams. And alive.
Despite everything, they were all miraculously, blissfully alive.

Part VI - 5 Empires
Tumblr media
As best you could figure, there were three compartment rooms exclusive for your and Conrad’s use. The first was the combined living room and your office. The second was a smaller room, connected to your office, that served as Conrad’s office – his nerve center, as you came to think of it. The third room was a single bedroom with a bed just big enough for two; built-in wardrobe and drawers lining the walls; and a small, functional bathroom. Or head, as the onboard sailors called it.
Beyond those three compartments, your movements were fairly limited and presided over by the seemingly indifferent crew that moved around you. “Miss Fox”, they all called you, inclining their heads politely when you passed or encountered them in the wardroom. Fortunately, no one waited on you hand and foot. You had free reign in the wardroom for food, coffee, and snacks. Hell, you suspected you might gain weight on this voyage with no chance to run or get any real exercise. At least the clothes that had been provided for you were surprisingly practical – suits with both trousers and skirts, tasteful blouses, silken cami and shorts sleepwear – all perfectly in your size.
Between working and surfing channels on the TV, you kept busy enough. It was still surprising that wireless internet or satellite or whatever it was worked so seamlessly underwater for all digital connections during your voyage.
Now that you were trapped with him underwater, living day-to-day, sharing a bed every night...it was disturbingly domestic and not. He still hadn’t told you much that was practical about anything, other than how to operate the shower controls.
You’d thought that, surely, now that you were here with him and no means of escape - maybe you would finally be privileged to know the grand plan. But you didn’t even know where the submarine was heading. You didn’t have your passport, but somehow you didn’t think that would be a problem whenever you arrived. But if this was his big move - or if he was making big moves - then would you at least be privileged to know if he won? Or if he lost?
That thought sat funny with you. If he lost. Of course, it was possible and, in fact, quite probable. Supervillains bent on world domination never won in the movies or comic books. But did you really consider Conrad a supervillain?
Hard to say.
He didn’t act much differently. He’d always walked and stood with the authority that he owned the world. With LOKI, he certainly had, and nothing about that had changed now. His cool, controlled demeanor had yet to slip, even though you spent a lot more concentrated time around him. At first, you feared what the single bed in the one bedroom would herald, but until last night, he’d been an unexpectedly, perfect gentleman. And even then, he’d only given you what you all but took from him.
You hadn’t meant to wake up. But the motion of the bed as he slid beneath the sheets stirred you. His scent enveloped you, always so enticing. Your hand reached out in a sleepy haze, settling to the hard plane of his chest, fingers tangling in the light scatter of hair. The heat of his body permeated the air, a welcome contrast to the chill of the submarine’s filtered air. Your head drifted on the pillow, only wanting to curl closer.
His minty breath fanned your face as a warm, solid hand covered yours, pressing it flat against his skin. Arousal suffused you, warm and rolling. Your legs twitched against the sheets, brushing his coarse leg hair. His nose skimmed yours as you breathed him in.
When your lips met his, there was no resistance. No illusion. Half-lucid drowsiness had given way to aching want, and he groaned softly as you rolled atop him. His hand rose to frame your face, angling you deeper into the kiss as his other hand drifted down your spine. You moaned, low and breathy, as tongues tangled and you felt his arousal grow against you. Without realizing it, your hips started to roll in slow, teasing waves.
In a fluid, tender motion you were on your back with the heat of his body everywhere above you. Those nimble fingers caressed your breast through the silk of your cami as he angled his hips to let you slide down his sleep shorts. Yours went next and you whimpered at the feel of him, hard and heavy, against your core. With no words, no questions, he pushed inside, burying to the hilt before setting a slow, steady pace.
He brushed that secretive, intense place within you on each stroke, tearing raw moans from your throat. Tears stung your eyes, overwhelmed and overcome, as he continued to move, your fingers digging into the muscles of his back. His forehead rested against yours, noses nuzzling as you each gasped and moaned your shared pleasure. With the deep slide of him inside and the press of him outside, it didn’t take long until your release burst in blinding euphoria.
And you did the unthinkable. Words slipped from your lips before you could even think.
“Oh, Tom….”
You didn’t realize what you’d said until later. Much later. After he’d told you not to wash away the evidence of your shared passion. After you’d fallen asleep, curled into him, despite the tacky moisture pooling between your thighs. After you’d woken to see the sheets stained beyond reuse. After he’d brought enough breakfast and coffee for two as you each dressed for the day.
And now...now, you braced for his response. For his inevitable retaliation for the liberties you took, either with his given name or his person. He’d never given you permission to call him ‘Tom’.
You blew another sigh, distracted from your work yet again. And all of that was to say nothing of even beginning to analyze what drove you into his arms at the late night hour in the first place. Was this the beginning of some twisted captivity dependency? Where you were just that desperate for human contact that you turned to your captor?
Not quite. He hadn’t abducted you. You could have pitched a fit, refused to go, and likely wound up in the bottom of the harbor along with your watch. But you didn’t. You were here.
The VI on the bottom of your foot throbbed.
But the hours continued to progress, and it proved just another day under the water.
Until it wasn’t. Until he lounged on the couch, oddly close to you, oddly relaxed. His tie had disappeared, along with his suit jacket. The top buttons of his dark shirt revealed a tease of skin, and his sleeves were cuffed just above his elbows. He sipped from a highball of scotch as you nursed your wine. The TV droned mindlessly on global news, current events.
“It’s been four days,” you started softly, “are we still planning to arrive tomorrow?”
He took a slow sip of scotch. “Yes.”
“Is that when I’ll learn more?”
He cut you with a wry, sideways look. “Don’t you want to maintain some plausible deniability?”
You bristled. Sure, you’d thought of that, but you didn’t like the insulation on his voice. You weren’t ready for him to make a rash decision on your behalf and cut off your left foot. “At this point…after last night – difficult to deny I’m not a willing participant in your coup or revolution or whatever you’re terming it.”
“It’s neither of those things.” He paused for another mouthful of scotch. “Certainly nothing so dramatic. Dramatic change invites a dramatic response, which does no one any good. Subtlety is key until the moment of revel.”
You couldn’t hold back a soft snort. “Until you…what? Rise out of the water on a fountain of righteousness?”
“Nothing so fantastical. The dominoes will start to fall tomorrow. You’ll see.”
You took another drink of wine, debating pushing your luck. Why not? “I thought you might be angry, or...displeased after last night.”
He hummed softly, his eyes darting up and down your torso as he raised a hand to his mouth, teasing his thumb with his front teeth . “Now, why would you think that?”
“No one calls you ‘Thomas’, let alone ‘Tom’.” You weren’t going to mention that conversation with Amelia. “I just want to know if I should be on my guard for you to corner me against the bulkhead for another of your so-called ‘lessons’.”
“In the dark of night with you warming my bed so freely, you’ll find little behind closed doors that displeases me. However, should such an incident bleed over into the daylight, that will be a different discussion.”
You blinked, doubting you heard him right. “That...that’s it?”
He turned to you with a distantly annoyed expression. “I’ve told you before - you’re not one for trite questions. You have what you have. And soon…,” his lips curled in a wolfish smile, “we’ll have the world.”
You’re not sure how you slept that night, but you did. You did, and you worked until he interrupted you, switching on the news.
“Alright, thank you, Adam.” The anchor turned back to face the main camera. “Again, to recap - if you’re just joining us - we’re 14 hours into what’s already being called the most massive market shakeup in history. The trend started in the Japan Exchange Group - the world’s 3rd largest financial market. A trickle of sales and acquisitions that grew to cascading proportions, with far-reaching impacts into the Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. Financial analysts are now reporting the moves permeated across these markets now have spread through the Bombay Stock Exchange, and are starting to manifest in Euronext. We have our own analyst, Ted Marshall, joining us now. Hello, Ted.”
The newscast split screens, and a spectacled man in a frumpy suit joined the anchor. “Hello, yes - as you said - the financial world has never seen movement of this magnitude. And, to be clear, we’re talking about movements of tectonic proportions that have left investors around the globe scratching their heads and frantically trying to keep up.”
“As we’ve already seen, six of the ten largest markets in the world have already been impacted. What risk do you see for the remaining four markets?”
“I don’t think it’s a risk at all - I think it’s a predictable reality. Pinhole leaks precede a tsunami wave breaching a seawall. We’ve already seen those pinhole streams flow from one market to the next as trading floors open and then the big wave hits. It’s as if someone has found the thread that unites all of the world’s major markets, and is following that thread across the time zones, pulling to unravel and create something new.” Ted shook his head, as if in disbelief. “The world’s top ten stock markets control almost 80% of the global wealth. If what we’re seeing continues on through the UK and US based markets, then we could be looking at the largest redistribution and consolidation of wealth in history.”
You stared at the TV, nearly agape. This was unreal...it had to be. It didn’t make sense - how could....?
A cold chill ran down your spine as you glared over at Conrad. Sure, he was normally a man of confident bearing, but the intense pride that suffused his handsome face was unsettling. Slowly, he turned towards you, the corner of his mouth lifting as he spoke. “Admittedly, it was a hard thread to identify.” He muted the TV volume. “It took me years to execute the right contracts, plan the right mergers. And then more time, still, to recruit foot soldiers. But the sales and acquisitions will continue to waterfall through the western markets - until they seize upon the floors of the Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange, with LOKI emerging a triumphant victor.” He glanced back at the TV with an almost secretive air. “The reporters have it right - the world’s top ten markets do control nearly 80% of the global wealth, and by the time of the closing bell on Wall Street - 75% of that wealth will be directly under my control.”
Your eyes widened. “You’re just...you’re stealing the global wealth to fund your takeover?”
“Did you hear any mention of illegal activity?” He cut back to you with a sharp look. “That’s the beauty of it - all the sales, all of this tectonic movement and consolidation - has been out in the open for everyone and anyone to exploit, given the right resources and strength of will. Surely, I don’t need to remind you that I have both of those fully at my disposal.”
“But that’s...that’s….” Words escaped you as you turned back to the TV, seeing the headlines and stock market numbers on the screen. It was...dammit, it was smart, it was genius...it was terrifying. You forced a swallow. “So, what then? Once you control 75% of the global wealth, what happens then?”
“With 75% of the global economy facing bankruptcy, world leaders will have very little choice. But as I’ve said before, it’s a balance act to prove one has enough bases covered. Economic prowess is not enough to bring the nations into alignment, so it must be supplemented.” He glanced down at his watch, swiping through the touchscreen and pushing a side button.
The TV channel changed to a tactical display - a visual of the world’s continents with major cities marked and identified. Each city had a stock market indicator, tracking the progression of wealth accumulation, and symbols that looked like traffic signals. Most of the cities just had one traffic signal indicator, but some cities like Tokyo and London had two indicators. Washington, D.C. had three indicators. In fact, now that you looked again - all cities had red lights at the top of the indicators, but Tokyo and Beijing’s indicators were yellow.
You gulped, trying to understand. Both Tokyo and Beijing had a full wealth accumulation tracker, so what did the yellow lights represent? You turned to Conrad, his gaze fixed on you, observing your study of the map. “The yellow lights...does that represent your supplement?”
The dark grin that curled his lips didn’t reach his eyes. “It represents an inbound warhead. Two targets in Tokyo and one in Beijing - undetectable by radar, too small for anti-missile defense, and enough firepower to reduce the seats of those governments to smoldering ruins.” He waved at the TV. “With a few strategic hits, the old guard will visibly crumble, paving the way for a new world.”
“That’s monstrous!” You stared at him wide-eyed in disbelief. “Killing all those innocent people!”
“Innocent is a kind word for those who have brought the world to such a state. A few will perish, yes. Such important buildings are never truly empty, even after hours when the majority of its occupants are off basking in the wealth of their reaping.”
“But you can’t…that - that makes you no better than they are.”
“There are only so many ways to get their attention, and in this case - it’s best to speak languages they understand.”
You shook your head, still horrified. “Money and violence.”
“Precisely.”
You wanted to keep admonishing him, yelling at him, and even beg him to stop. Each scenario played out with ultimate futility in your mind. This was his submarine, this was his show, and this was his moment. Nothing in his overbearing arrogance would bend to your wishes that he cease and desist.
So, you watched. You watched the stock market wealth accumulators fill. You watched the traffic signals drop from red to yellow, and ultimately to green. You tried not to think about how many lives each light represented. Occasionally, the TV would revert back to the news - each station overwhelmed with the amount of incoming information, updates on world leaders rushed to safety, financial markets upheaved, buildings exploding into flame in yet another new city.
It was terrible to watch. Terrible, and yet - like a train crash - impossible to look away.
After time, after hours - eventually, the last wealth accumulator peaked. The last signal turned green.
And nothing. Nothing happened. The submarine continued along, just as it always had. Just another day under the water, blissfully oblivious to the destruction raging across the continents above. You’d completely lost track of the hour, feeling a deep bone-weary exhaustion gnaw at you. You couldn’t even recall the last time you’d eaten, your stomach a giant knot from all the anxious news activity.
Still, you watched coverage of the fallout. Unknown numbers of injured, but significantly less than if the buildings had been occupied. And the list of damage was extensive. Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. The Great Hall of the People. The Kremlin. The Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The Government of India Building. The Palace of Westminster. Buckingham Palace. The White House. The United States Capitol. But you already knew - you’d seen the map.
But then came a breaking announcement. After the twenty-four hours of chaos, everything had fallen still and quiet. No more inbound missiles. No more stock market movement. In fact, the governments of the world were beginning to read the outcome in the settling dust, starting to grasp that the vast wealth of the global economy was no longer theirs to control.
There were too many questions and not enough answers in the chaos - but there was a note. A single message with a concise purpose that arrived at the United Nations conspicuously after the last missile fell.
It brought a request. A request for a meeting. A request to talk through the global situation. And the meeting was due to start within minutes. World leaders from all over the globe planned to call in and listen firsthand to the discussion. And, of course, the origin of the note was untraceable and anonymous.
But you knew who had sent it.
He stood next to you now, dressed in the finest suit of his collection. The crispest cut, the sharpest fit, and the dark navy color did wonders for the crystal blue of his eyes. He looked like a man of power. Like...like the ruler of the world.
He caught your gaze with a sideways smirk before he turned for the door to his office. “Mustn’t be late, you know.”
You exhaled shakily. “So...so, that’s it? It’s over? You...won?”
He paused at the door, turning back for one last glance, steely determination glinting in his eyes. “What other choice do they have?”
The door closed behind him, and you held your breath.
The End

There Is No Sickness On Europa - Chapter One
There Is No Sickness On Europa – Chapter One
As Liam sat aboard the cheapest shuttle he could charter, he wondered what life would offer him in the coming months. The sweltering heat caused by the ship’s overworked radiators didn’t make thinking easy, but he gave it his best shot. In just over 36 hours he would be a citizen of Europa, with all of the meaning that entailed. He had no job lined up, no place to live, and a paltry amount of money in his pocket. And to top it all off, this damned heat made it impossible for him to plan.
Not that he could anyway. Liam had never been to Europa. He didn’t know what it was like, the culture, the economics. He knew as well as anyone else in the system that Europa was famed for its healthcare. Supposedly the water had special properties that could heal any illness. As a result, Europa had the most robust hospitals and the best doctors in the system. Liam figured that was a self-fulfilling prophecy. Either way, his shuttle was filled to the brim with people suffering from all manner of afflictions, all heading to Europa to be cured.
One man’s illness frightened Liam. He sat alone in a corner of the passenger hold, shaking relentlessly. His eyes were so bloodshot they seemed solid red. His skin was so grey, he blended into the wall to the point where he seemed to just be a pair of floating red eyes and brown hair drenched in sweat. Liam tried not to look at him often.
The cities of Europa were apparently equally magical. The first colonies had been scientific, searching for life in the geothermal depths. The scientists wanted to be closer to what they were studying rather than separated by fifteen kilometers of ice. So, the first habitats were built upside down, hanging from the ice sheets over a vast dark ocean. They may not have found sentient, water-dwelling creatures below the ice, but as more people were born and colonists immigrated to Europa, more buildings were built off the original scientific outposts. The cities of Europa dangled into the void. It was supposed to be quite beautiful.
Liam had determined, as far as he could given his environment and lack of experience, that Europa should have plenty of hotels since it’s constantly full of visitors. And keeping those near-floating cities water-tight must be a hard job requiring lots of maintenance. He should easily be able to find a job as an electrical engineer or something. He hoped.
Satisfied with his planning, Liam leaned back in his low-cost chair and closed his eyes. And was almost instantly jostled awake by a kid barging past to use the head or something. It would be a long day and a half.
Tumblr media
As Liam came back from the galley, the first thing he noticed was that someone stole the jacket he left on his chair. Great, he thought, hopefully the ice moon won’t be cold. The second thing he noticed was the sheer chaos in the passenger bay. Liam’s shipmates may have been placid for the majority of the trip, but the promise of an imminent landing awakened something in each of them, and now the bay was filled with shouts and people hurrying to gather themselves and their belongings at the boarding ramp, eager to finally be free of the ship.
The ship itself was a refitted cargo freighter and had up to that point somehow managed to cope with being crammed full of as many of the inner system’s sick and poor as it could carry. But now the animation that filled its core put a strain on its systems. The shouting and movement threatened to make its poor environmental regulators give out completely, and the heat just made people want to leave sooner.
Liam, for his part, didn’t have any thing to take with him except his now lost jacket. He scanned chaos around him, shrugged his shoulders, and made for the ramp. Even though he left sooner than most passengers, the loading bay was full when Liam arrived, so he waited in the hallway thinking about his new life just moments away. A few minutes later the intercom binged. One minute until the main engine cuts off and gravity with it. Right on cue, the intercom binged again and the concept of “down” lost all meaning. Liam never did get the hang of zero-g. Living down a gravity well all your life makes it difficult. He contented himself with clutching the handrails and waiting for the ship to finally land. Behind him came a dull thud followed by a child crying. Looks like at least one other person can’t handle zero-g.
The ship started jostling around under its old and poorly maintained maneuvering thrusters. Slowly, almost imperceptibly, gravity began to assert itself, and Liam’s feet drifted back towards the bulkhead. Right before he actually touched the floor, however, the entire ship was filled with a clang as it slammed down on the landing pad on the surface. At a comfortable 1/8th G, Liam felt ready to meet his new life. The intercom crackled and came to life.
“Alright folks, the dock is telling us that the outer seals are good, and the landing bay is pressurized. Give us a minute and will lower the ramp and let y’all out. Welcome to Europa,” said a voice that Liam assumed belonged to the captain.
Before him the line started moving as those who were first into the loading area stepped out into the docks. Liam could hardly contain himself. He wondered what awaited him on the other side of the hull. What strange new sights would he see? What kind of life would he live? As he rounded the corner into the loading bay, he drew deep breath, ready to face a new start. He looked out over the throng of people in front of him and saw his first glimpse of Europa. An industrial grey wall crisscrossed with walkways and girders.
The wall itself was massive, dwarfing the workers hustling along it to do their job. The dock was a massive triangle and served as an airlock for ships. It was easily able to handle a ship two or three times the size of the humble transport Liam booked. Hundreds of meters above Liam was a giant mechanical mouth with interlocking teeth. When a ship came in to land, everyone would exit, and the dock would be depressurized. Then that mouth would open and swallow the ship whole.
As Liam reached the end of the ramp, someone in a yellow vest pointed him towards a point in one of the walls.
“Take that lift down to the city proper. No loitering in the docks,” the worker told him.
Liam wasn’t keen on being fined 3 minutes after landing and made his way to the lift without admiring the cavernous room further. Besides, maybe he’d get a job here. There’d be plenty of time for gawking then.
When the doors to the lift opened, the crowd of people behind Liam piled into the lift so Liam could barely stand in the back without leaning on the wall. Then, the lift began its fifteen-kilometer descent to the city.
After what felt like an eternity, the lift finally came to a stop and the doors parted. Liam was so focused on relieving the pressure on his back and neck he didn’t look up until he was out of the lift. When he did, he was blown away.
Before him was a neon garden, with signs and billboards growing from the ground and walls. Above him the ceiling was covered in screens showing Jupiter suspended above them, as if there weren’t kilometers of ice between the city and the sky. Built into the walls around him were storefronts, restaurants, and offices. The smells from all the different kinds of food mixed and lingered in the air, creating something in between chicken soup and raw sewage. Huge herds of people moved to and fro, stopping for food and knick-knacks. Liam watched one woman weave her way through the crowds, barely slowing as she made her way down the wide boulevard. To his right, a sign spoke to him in a neutrally accented, pleasant voice: “Welcome to Europa. We hope you enjoy your stay.”
As Liam took a step forwards, a drone swooped down in front of his face. Its speaker blasted out “Our scans indicate you are not in critical condition. Goodbye.”
“Thanks for that, mate,” Liam mumbled to himself.
He took a look at the billboards surrounding him. Most advertised some radical new treatment for illnesses Liam had never heard of. An injection that makes you immune to the common cold forever. A magic pill that grows you a new kidney. One treatment claimed to let someone breathe in a vacuum for a limited time. To Liam it seemed that each advertisement was more aggressive than the last. The lights, colors, sounds, and smells of this market that eventually Liam just tuned it all out and tried to head somewhere quiet so he could work out a plan to live. Or at least just find a bed to sleep in tonight.
He saw a sign that said residential over a stairway heading down and figured that was his best bet. That was when Liam learned that going downstairs in 1/8th G is a slow and tedious process and after the third flight he wished he took lift, if only to save time. He was so focused on going down that when he finally did reach the residential level, he didn’t even notice that it was quiet.
What he did notice instead was the huge single-pane window in the wall. Liam was apparently near the edge of the city, and aside from two buildings reaching down into the depths like glowing tendrils, the view was completely black. The vast expanse of nothing enraptured Liam so much he didn’t even bother with the bench in front of the window. He just walked right up to the pane and stared. He was so close his breath was fogging up the window, but he didn’t even notice. The scale of the void baffled him. Since stepping off the ship all he saw was massive structure after massive structure, but the ocean beyond was incomprehensible. The cities of Europa were not defiant monuments to the strength of mankind to overcome nature, but instead small, huddled clusters of humanity, just trying to keep each other warm through the night.
Liam’s meditations were interrupted by an uninvited guest. A dark-skinned woman with short hair she kept bundled at the top her head decided to join him. She spoke first.
“Let me ask you a question. You came here in a spaceship, right?”
“Uhh, yeah,” Liam responded, confused.
“Where from?” The stranger continued.
“Earth.”
“Did the ship have windows on it?”
“Yeah, it did.”
“And did you, in all the time you spent on that ship, look out of those windows even once? A couple of times even?”
“Of course, I did,” Liam responded.
The woman sighed. Then continued, “So. You come all the way from Earth to Europa. Past Luna, past Mars, past the Belt. All the way here. Through space. In a ship with windows. Windows that you looked out of. Looked at space. And still, when you do finally get to Europa, what do you do? You look out another window.”
Liam laughed. “Yeah, that’s true.”
The woman seemed to relax a bit. “Ok. Let me ask you another question. Why? What makes this view more captivating than anything on the main promenade? Or space for that matter?
Liam thought for a moment. “I don’t know. It just seems so alien. There’s just nothing out there. In space at least there were stars and planets and moons. Right here? That’s just pitch black. It’s unsettling. But in a good way, I guess. Why do you ask?”
“Well, it’s just I always see off-worlders gawking at windows. Figured I at least should ask one what’s so interesting about pitch black nothing. Anyway, what’s wrong with you, if you don’t mind me asking.”
Liam was shocked “What?”
“What are you sick with? What are you here to cure?” The woman explained.
“Oh. I’m not here to cure anything,” Liam explained.
“A friend or family member, then?”
“Nope. Just me. I’m moving here.”
“Wait, really?” She seemed surprised.
“Yeah, is that odd?”
“Well, we don’t really get people moving here. Pretty much everybody is here or with someone who’s here to cure something. Most everybody tries to leave as soon as they can. I guess not many people want to live in a frozen ocean.”
Liam chuckled. “Yeah that’s probably true.”
The woman held out her hand. “I’m Havi.”
Liam shook it. “Liam. It’s nice to meet you.”
“You too, Liam. So where are you staying?”
Liam took a second to come up with an answer. “I’ve not really figured that out yet. I’m kind of fresh off the ship. Figured I’d stay at a cheap hotel or something until I find a job and can get a lease.”
Havi seemed to think about for something for a minute then said: “Stay with me for a while.”
“What?”
“I mean it. My roommate just left, and my place is too big for one person. And I won’t even charge you until you get a job.”
“Really? You just met me. For all you know I could be some crazed Earther serial killer on the run from the law.”
Havi chortled. “Yeah, the guy who’s unsettled by a bunch of water is a serial killer. Good one.”
“Yeah fair point,” Liam said through a smile.
“Look, just pretend I’m your landlady or whatever. I mean when it’s a choice between a cushy apartment or some seedy hotel, I know what I’d take. Besides, maybe I’m eager to see an Earther’s perspective on my homeworld. Up to you.”
Liam considered for a moment. Not having to pay for a bed until he found work would be nice. But he barely knew this woman. Maybe she lured people to her apartment to kill them. Was it really worth it? Liam’s stomach growled and he thought of his paltry pocketbook. Yeah, it was worth it.
“Alright,” Liam said, “lead the way.”
“Gladly,” Havi responded, and the two marched down the hallway, leaving the window and dark abyss behind them.

Presented here down the page you might get a good deal of outstanding news around buy your house.

It is a common misconception among Americans that selling a home is an especially difficult task. While it is not always easy, if you have the advice of a professional, or you follow helpful tips like these you will find that it is not as difficult as you might think.
You're putting your house on the market. Great!! First piece of advice is to listen to your Realtor, who knows all about the local Real Estate market. If you don't have one, or want to do it yourself, then the first thing you need to do is to clean up!! Get rid of junk and clutter. Rent a storage unit if you need to. You have to pretend that it's not yours anymore. Good luck!

If you're trying to sell your house, keep your pets away. Before showings, take the dog or cat to a friend's house, put away pet toys and bowls, and remove any appearance of a litter box. Many a potential buyer has been turned off by the smell/sight of a homeowners furry best friend.
Before you decide to sell your house without the help of an agent, ask yourself whether you will be able to achieve levels of exposure comparable to those offered by agents. Agents will list a home with the local Multiple Listing Service, or MLS, which is seen by the entire network of real estate agents in the area. Instead of having only one agent working for you, you are harnessing the selling power of many different agents.
Make sure to create the proper atmosphere for a showing. Turn on all the lights, have some relaxing music playing in the background, and light a few candles to make the home smell nice. You might also want to include a thank you note at one of the last rooms that they would look at. This will help the potential buyer enjoy looking at your home and make the buyer just feel more relaxed.
Making your house stand out from the rest is an important component in any sales plan. In this article, we have discussed some tips to help you along the way. Discuss them with your Realtor, and follow them when you're putting your house on the market. The reward could be a SOLD sign in your yard, quicker than you expected.

Currently a wide variety of fiberglass fabrics is available in the market. However, they can be categorized into premium special purpose fibers and low cost general purpose fibers. Among products available in the latter category, the fiberglass fabric market is expected to witness significantly rising demand for E-glass fibers. These fibers have a high strength and ensures improved chemical and corrosion resistance. Furthermore, e-glass fibers are heat resistance and are available in economic prices as compared to glass fabrics in the special purpose category. The increasing knowledge about its attributes will fuel the demand for e-glass fiber in the coming years. The demand for special purpose fibers is likely to rise as well. These fibers offer several mechanical and physical qualities, which will fuel their demand in the coming years.
A key point to consider here is that, fiberglass fabric is manufactured like any other fabric either in a woven or non-woven form. Furthermore, these fabric can be woven in myriad patterns such as basket weave, plain weave, twill weave, and complicated weaves.
Fiberglass fabric is increasingly used in defense and aerospace applications. They are used in manufacturing various cabins structures such as luggage bins, bulkheads, seats, and wall panels. They are also used in honeycomb structures. Furthermore, the increasing application in electrical and electronics industry in printed circuit boards, switches, cable generators, and transformers, besides several others will give significant impetus to the global fiberglass fabric market.
Global Fiberglass Fabric Market: Overview
The demand within the global market for fiberglass fabric has been rising on account of the utility served by these fabrics across multiple industries. There are mainly two categories of glass fibers, one being the special fibers with premium quality, and the other is the general fiber which is more popularly used across industries. Special purpose fibers are better in quality as they contain ECR-glass, S-glass, silica fibers, S-glass, hollow fibers, and trilobal fibers. Despite the enhanced quality of special-purpose fibers, the demand for e-glass fibersis higher because they endow chemical and corrosion resistance, high strength, and heat resistance. The mechanical and physical properties of fiberglass are amongst the key reasons behind the growth of the global market for fiberglass fabric. Several research organisations have been focusing on finding the uses of fiberglass in various industrial domains, and this is projected to further escalate demand within the global market for fiberglass fabrics.
The global market for fiberglass fabric may be segmented on the basis of the following parameters: application, end-use industry, and region. It is important to analyse the dynamics of each segment in order to get a peek into the global market for fiberglass fabric.

The demand within the global market for fiberglass fabric has been escalating on account of the useful properties of such fabrics. These fabrics come in woven as well as non-woven forms, and this enhanced the growth prospects of the global market for fiberglass fabrics. Some of the popular patterns in which fiberglass fabrics are woven are leno weave, plain weave, satin weave, basket weave, and unidirectional weave. Twill weave is amongst the more complicated patterns of fiberglass fabrics but the demand for these patterns is also quite high.
The use of fiberglass fabric in the defence and aerospace industry for making covers of seats, bins, luggage bins, honeycomb structures, and bulkheads is very common. For this reason, the growth of the aerospace industry has also given an impetus to the expansion of the global market for fiberglass fabric. Furthermore, the use of fiberglass fabric in cables, transformers, printed circuit boards, switches, and generators across the electronics industry has also created demand within the global market for these fabrics. Besides this, the manufacture of rotor blades also unloved the use of fiberglass fabrics due to their light weight.
Global Fiberglass Fabric Market: Regional Outlook
The demand within the market for fiberglass fabric in Asia Pacific has been rising at a robust rate, majorly due to changes in the industrial sector across India and China. Furthermore, the end-use industries for fiberglass fabrics in these countries have also gathered momentum over the past decade. This is also projected to give s strong push to the growth of the global market for fiberglass fabric in recent times.
Global Fiberglass Fabric Market: Competitive Landscape
Some of the key players in the global market for fiberglass fabric are Hexcel Corporation and Owens Corning, and they are engaged in growing their market shares.

In regards to width (28 in - 71 cm), being a bit narrower than the Mustang 100X or ARGO 100X (both 29 in - 74 cm), the Trailblazer 100NXT is easy to carry on your shoulder, even by women, making this small boat a reliable and all-round paddling partner. When compared to other Pelican kayaks of the same size, the Trailblazer with its 35.6 lbs (16.2 kg) is the lightest in the bunch: the Cove 100XP and Rise 100X both weigh 38lbs (17.2 kg), while the ARGO 100X is 41 lbs (18.6 kg). This feature allows the boat to be convenient for traveling, float better and to offer the paddler an organic connection with the water. Not to forget the ease to transport the kayak on and off the car, to and from the water.
Capacity
Kayak manufacturers consider many factors when calculating a kayak's load capacity. The primary three measurements that engineers integrate with their formulas are 1) Length, 2) Width and 3) Displacement or volume. In plain terms and without high-math calculations, it is best not to exceed two-thirds of a kayak's maximum load capacity. Every additional pound can influence the kayak's speed and performance. Trailblazer's load capacity of 275 lbs (125 kg) is rather standard in comparison to some of Pelican's other 10-foot kayaks. The reason why Mustang 100X and ARGO 100XP have 300 lbs (136 kg) load capacity despite being 10-feet (305 cm) long is the fact that they have a slightly wider beam and higher deck.
Construction and Material
Pelican utilizes the Twin Sheet Thermoforming (TST) technology building their kayaks from RAM-X™, a proprietary multi-layer very high-density polyethylene. This material is based on High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (HMWPE) that consists of three layers: In the first layer, the manufacturer adds vibrant colors, UV and scratch resistance. The second layer is the high-density plastic with an applied third layer of added sturdiness and durability for tremendous overall structural rigidity. The RAM-X™ displays considerable memory characteristics (the boat quickly regains shape upon violent contact), due to the TST production process. Namely, kayaks' decks and hulls are melded together during the thermoforming process, which results in added longevity, strength and impact resistance. The RAM-X™ polyethylene is a light but robust material that requires minimum care and maintenance. The two weaknesses it does have are: 1) in rare circumstances sharp objects can pierce it through; 2) it requires some skills, time and appropriate materials to patch a hole. Pelican International is candid when it comes to environmental awareness and giving back to nature. They put the money where their mouth is by manufacturing their kayaks with 99% recycled material gathered during the early stages of the production process.
Cockpit
Passionate multi-kayak owners unanimously agree on one thing: Pelican kayaks are recognizable for spacious and comfortable cockpits. You can rarely find a wider or longer paddling space in a kayak. Trailblazer’s cockpit is 42.5 in (108 cm) long, 20.5 in (52 cm) wide and 14 in (35.5 cm) high. Trailblazer's cockpit occupies a significant section of the vessel, making it easy to enter and exit while keeping the kayak well balanced. It comes with some exciting features such as the molded table with a bungee cord where you can strap a water bottle and a molded cup/bottle holder in the seat. Below the front deck, there is a tightly stretched net where you may want to keep your phone or other personal items easily accessible. Due to the particularly spacious cockpit without bulkheads, gear or camping necessities can safely be stored and protected from falling off into the water and bring extra stability with smart weight distribution.
Seat
The Trailblazer 100NXT offers some serious comfort with the ErgoBase™ padded seat and adjustable ErgoForm™ padded backrest. The cushioned seat with a molded cup holder, a cockpit table with a bungee cord, adjustable footrests and storage net all contribute to an enjoyable paddling experience.
Thigh Pads
Pelican Trailblazer 100 NXT does not include knee pads, which is understandable for such a budget-friendly boat. Admittedly, cushioned knee pads are always a useful feature to have in a kayak, especially for longer trips.
Footrests
Pelican Trailblazer 100 NXT features molded footrests with four predetermined positions. This construction is great when several people use the boat at the same time as you don't have to re-adjust the footpegs. However, there's always a risk that your ideal foot position will be in between the footrest positions. It is always a good idea to test those before buying the kayak.
Paddle Holder
Pelican Trailblazer 100 NXT does not have a paddle holder or even an indent on the cockpit rim to put the paddle across the boat. This is really a shame: a simple bungee cord-based paddle holder may seem like a tiny feature but it adds a ton of comfort on the water (think pausing to take a picture or a snack).
Storage
Pelican Trailblazer 100 NXT comes with basic storage options that won't impress anyone but should be enough for short recreational trips that this kayak is designed for. Starting with the bow, you get a small storage platform on the front deck secured with a V-shaped bungee cord. It is perfect for items you may need on the water, such as a rain jacket or a lunch bag. In front of the cockpit, there is a molded cockpit table with three compartments and a bottle holder. Another bungee cord holds everything in place. Depending on your height and how long your legs are, you may be able to put quite a lot of stuff inside the hull in front of you. Just make sure everything is inside a dry bag. Alternatively, you can use this space to add a float bag and greatly improve the safety of the kayak. Under the cockpit table, there's a small storage net for small items. At the stern, you have a decently sized tank well with two mesh covers above it. We prefer traditional bungee cords (and the Trailblazer used to have them up to 2018), but Pelican must have their reasons to replace them with the mesh covers. One thing we don't like about the tank well is that it is not separated from the cockpit. Any water that gets there will drain right on the seat and then into the cockpit. It does not just give a wetter ride but can be dangerous in some situations
Handles
The Trailblazer has two nifty ergonomic carrying handles located at the bow and stern positioned for two people to carry the kayak. However, being very lightweight, feel free to hold the kayak by any part of the body you find comfortable. In case you've had a long paddling session, dragging the kayak is also an option because of the material strength.
Stability
The Trailblazer 100NXT is a beginner-favorite due to the stability resulted from its hull design. The twin-arched multichine, flat-in-the-middle hull, accommodates inexperienced paddlers with safety and great primary and secondary balance. The 28-inch beam, as well as the overall even weight distribution, add to the kayak's stability and steady behavior out in the water. The Trailblazer is highly recommendable for children, as for adults. The only three situations that need to be avoided are tracking on rough waters, strong currents and winds. Each of these weather conditions can cause the kayak to capsize or fill with water. On the other hand, this kayak stays stable even on rough (class II) waters when steered by advanced paddlers.
Maneuverability and Tracking
If we look at the Trailblazer's shape, we can see that the bow and stern fade to a pointed keel which certainly assists during tracking. The kayak's smooth and narrow surface causes minimal traction on the water, cutting it effortlessly. As a result, the boat displays stable tracking in a straight line when paddling evenly. The Trailblazer is a very easy-to-master kayak due to the boat's responsiveness and straightforward maneuverability. Even if you're a long-time kayaker, it is always a good idea to put on a life vest while on the water.
Speed
The Trailblazer's narrow bow and stern and broad beam, predispose the kayak to pick up speed fast, maintain it while paddling, but slow down quickly due to being wide for a 10-feet long kayak. It does not have sufficient overall length to keep going with the same speed if not paddling. Although the Trailblazer 100NXT is not considered particularly fast kayak, it is capable of providing tons of excitement and speed in no time, as long as you paddle.
Durability
Pelican uses their proprietary RAM-X™ multi-layer, UV-stabilized and extremely impact-resistant material to achieve one goal - to produce kayaks with significant longevity. The results of the innovative RAM-X™ material are creating very light products (the TST technology uses less material per boat) that are very difficult to break or deform. In a rare situation, should the body gets a deep cut or a crack, patching it can be a laborious task. Trailblazer's material elasticity quickly regains shape even after a violent collision with a hard object in the water or ashore. Paying more attention to murky waters is a good idea even with such a well built kayak.
Care
The Trailblazer 100NXT requires minimal maintenance. However, to make sure that the kayak always performs well, here are some general rules to follow: INSPECT THE HULL AFTER EACH TRIP: Regardless of how uneventful the paddling has been, upon arrival home, always check the hull for cracks, abrasions or more serious breaches. Light nicks and scratches are a normal part of the experience. In case the hull has been dented or if you notice deep scratches, follow these instructions: The most effective way to patch a hole is to heat-weld new HWM PE or HDPE plastic piece into the cracks. It's best to use a flat surface such as a soldering iron by utilizing welding techniques to bond the material for an air-tight lasting patch. This procedure takes some skill but is a relatively simple process. Do not use chemical products or abrasives. If you haven't previously done similar reparations, we strongly recommend seeking professional help. INSPECT ALL MOVING PARTS AND RIGGING BEFORE GOING ON A TRIP: Always check the straps, buckles, hatch cover and cords if they hold a strong elasticity. If any of the moving parts become loose, it is better to replace them. HOW TO STORE YOUR KAYAK: Store your kayak on its side, never on the hull. To protect your kayak, provide shelter from the sun. To prevent heat build-up, do not cover the boat with tarp laying directly on its surface. Leave adequate air space to allow for air circulation. If possible, it is best to store your kayak inside for the winter. Don't allow water to accumulate between the deck and hull and freeze. ENSURE SAFE TRANSPORTATION: Transportation can cause damage if the kayak isn't fastened firmly. Make sure you load it and unload it with care.

Knocked Out (11/12)
As you can probably guess, turns out the last chapter will be last two chapters. Because of course it did since I said there was one last chapter.
I could have shoved it all into one chapter, but I felt this was better used as a short standalone chapter. Plus I know that there's some lovelies (more on ao3 but maybe some of y’all!) haven't actually read barbarian AUs before, and while I'm beyond honored to be the first and possibly only for you, this fic was written based on the assumption that the readers knew the matenapping trope therein and how I reversed it here, haha. So hopefully this is helpful to those of you who aren't familiar with the tropes inherent to barbarian AUs.
The actual last chapter will be posted either tomorrow or Friday. So I hope you enjoy this little snippet and god lord do I hope you enjoy the last chapter when I post it, hahaaaah.
ALSO! On the off chance you missed it, I wrote a little drabble in this AU which can be found over yonder.
Title: Knocked Out
Series: Transformers: Prime with the constructicons shoved right in there, and just a sprinkle of ideas pulled from tfidw
Pairing/Characters: Breakdown/Knockout, joined by Bulkhead and the Constructicons
Warnings: Robot injuries (nothing super gory), sexual jokes, language barriers, and fluff. Oh the fluff. Also slow burn I guess depending on your definition of slow haha.
Fic Summary:
And so there Breakdown found himself, with an injured barbarian in his arms who turned those dazzling crimson optics towards him, and for a split second Breakdown felt as if it was his knees that were injured because boy did they feel weak.
Barbarian AU where the citymech unwittingly does the kidnapping.
Chapter Summary:
“First time shopping for clothes, huh?”

“First time shopping for clothes, huh?”
Breakdown’s optics snapped up to find a red minibot wearing a blue wrap standing on the booth’s table, servo wrapped around one of the corner beams to lean towards Breakdown as the little mech grinned slyly at him. The minibot’s accent was one that Breakdown couldn’t place, not sounding like any he had heard in the cities he had been to. Before he even had a chance to reply, a nearly identical helm popped up. In fact, the only difference was that the second minibot had a blue paintjob.
“Ooh, a first timer?” The second minibot clambered onto the table as well, his red wrap not slowing him down at all. Even on the stand, the two of them didn’t reach Breakdown’s optics, but that didn’t seem to intimidate them at all.
“He was looking at the skirts like they were gonna sit up and bite him,” Red said to Blue’s delight.
Breakdown could hardly disagree, truth be told. Not that he had any time to get a word in edgewise before Blue leaned in, saying, “Aww, don’t be afraid, big guy! We can help you find something stylish and in your size!”
“Uh.” Breakdown blinked as he tried to gather his thoughts. Once Knockout had been put into stasis, Ratchet had shooed him out of the room, insisting he find something to do with himself for the next couple of hours and leave the healing to him. Needing something to occupy his processor with, Breakdown had decided to see if he couldn’t find a replacement for the dingy towel that Knockout had had wrapped around his waist.
After nearly an hour wandering the various street markets, Breakdown had finally spotted the stall. The tables were covered in neatly folded clothes of all sorts of colors and textures, and beams created overhead rows where yet more fabric was hung to billow with the breeze. The thin mech that Breakdown had assumed was running the booth on his own had been talking with another customer, so Breakdown thought he’d have a chance to just browse, see if he couldn’t glean some sort of knowledge by just looking at the fabric.
But no. It was all very pretty, but that was as far as Breakdown could figure. There seemed to be categories for different types of garments and they had signs stating what they were, but the words were meaningless to Breakdown. He didn’t even have the greatest optic for color, so Breakdown couldn’t even just start there. Would Knockout want something red? But what if it was the wrong shade? Grey? Black? Gold?
Now, faced with two minibots staring at him with nearly predatory grins, Breakdown felt both lost and concerned.
Maybe buying a gift had been a terrible idea.
“It’s, uh, it’s not for me,” Breakdown finally managed.
Twin optics widened with interest.
“Ooh, looking to court a barbarian, huh?”
“Strong mech like you shouldn’t have problems with the grabbing, but I could see how you might want help on the softer side of things,” Blue said as he considered Breakdown seriously.
“No point in catch and carry if you can’t keep ‘em with your personality,” Red agreed, acting deadly serious even as his twin snorted.
Breakdown was positive he was being made fun of, and that irritation only added to the burning embarrassment that came with realizing what they meant.
“I’m not matenapping anybody!” Breakdown argued, his engine rumbling in warning. “And I don’t appreciate you suggesting I would!”
Blue looked at Red who shrugged.
“An idiot and boring.”
“No sense of romance.”
Breakdown’s engine growled properly this time. However, there was no chance to follow through on any arguments when a monotone voice interrupted sternly, “Rumble, Frenzy: desist.”
“But boss!”
“We’re just teasing!”
If the mech was moved, Breakdown wouldn’t have known since the shopkeeper had a full face visor. Up close he looked even thinner. Most of his frame was covered in a loose tunic, but his arms were bare, thin and more blades than anything, and his digits were impossibly slim as they unfurled to wave the two minibots off. And, surprisingly, the twins scrambled off the table, though they did grumble under their ex-vents. Soon after, a pair of flying mechanimals swooped towards them, but judging from the giggles that brought, they seemed to know the creatures.
“Apologies,” the shopkeeper said, bringing Breakdown’s attention back to his featureless visor. “Seeking a gift?”
“Yeah,” Breakdown replied, at once finding himself trapped again in the awkwardness of not knowing what he was doing. If the shopkeeper noticed his discomfort though, he didn’t comment on it, just waited patiently. “Crew and I picked up a mech on our way here and he’s just been wearing my drying towel for a few days now, so I figured I should pick him up some actual clothes, you know?”
With a small nod, the mech further asked, “A barbarian?”
“Yeah. I mean, who else would wear clothes?”
“Two small religious sects,” the mech answered easily, “and some citymecha seeking alternative fashion choices.”
“Oh.” Breakdown grimaced, worrying he had somehow offended. “Sorry, you one of those then or--”
“No.”
“Uh, then you’re a bar--”
“No.” Breakdown would have sworn the slightest shifting of light in the mech’s visor was humor.
“Soundwave’s a translator!” one of the minibots interrupted, popping his helm up above the table’s edge with one of the flyers perched on top. “He’s got a crazy big processor for language and has pretty much all of them rattling around in there now.”
And, of course, the second minibot wasn’t far behind with his own flyer, pride clear as day on his face as he added, “He’s been to all the cities and met every tribe we’ve ever heard of and more! So he’s pretty much the smartest and coolest mech you’ll ever meet.”
“We’re barbarians though.”
“Cassette tribe, and don’t forget it!”
“Enough.”
The twins snapped their mouths shut petulantly.
Breakdown stared at the odd little group of mecha before glancing around at the stall. “So then this is, what, something you do to fill the time between jobs?”
There was that flicker again as Soundwave nodded.
So. A citymech with barbarian connections who was a contract worker.
Breakdown felt his spark finally ease as he said, “Then it sounds like you’re just the mech I need to help me try to figure out what the frag to buy.”
With an easy nod, Soundwave asked, “Do you know his style preference?”
“No. I mean, he wears my towel wrapped between his legs and then around his hips, but that might just be because that’s all I had. His clothes had already been taken from him before we met him and his tribe.”
“Tribe name?”
Breakdown had to take a moment to think on that before answering, “Is Velocitron a tribe?”
Identical pairs of optics blew out wide.
“A Velocitron?!” the twins squealed in unison.
“Is he beautiful? They’re supposed to be real bright and pretty!”
“And fast! How did you manage to catch him?”
“Yeah! They’re about the toughest mecha you could try to court, and super rare nowadays!”
“Is he in the city with you? Can we meet him?!”
“We’ve never met an actual Velocitron before!”
“You’re so slagging lucky!”
With another wave of Soundwave’s servo, Frenzy and Rumble quieted, though they practically vibrated with energy now. The interruption couldn’t have come at a better time since Breakdown was pretty sure he had somehow managed to, yet again, step his pede into something he did not understand.
But Airachnid had said something vaguely similar. She seemed so focused on the fact that Knockout was a Velocitron--
With a quick motion, Soundwave laid out a neatly folded bundle of fabric.
“This style and fabric preferred by Velocitron tribe,” Soundwave explained simply. “Short so it does not impede running and fabric type allows airflow to assist in faster frame cooling.”
Breakdown gingerly reached out to touch the bundle. The texture was smooth and thin compared with some of the other fabrics around the booth, and when Breakdown unfurled it he found that unlike the tunic that Soundwave wore or some of the other options on the table, it was actually similar in dimension and simplicity to Breakdown’s towel. Longer in length and narrower in width, but Breakdown could only assume that it was meant to be worn similarly to how Knockout had worn the towel.
It was nice. Beautiful even in a weird way. Certainly it would be a better fit for Knockout. Breakdown couldn’t help imagining how much nicer it would look, laying smoothly across the curves of Knockout’s hips and thighs instead of adding bulk like that old towel. Primus, he hoped that Knockout would like it, might even smile when it was handed to him like he had when he first put on that towel--
“Black only color currently available,” Soundwave continued, pulling Breakdown from his thoughts. “More colors and fabrics can be sought if desired in the future.”
“Nah, no worries,” Breakdown said, the grin he hadn’t realized had bloomed on his face turning sheepish as he waved off the offer. “Truthfully this just makes it easier for me since I wasn’t sure what color to get. So this will be perfect. How much is it?”
“I mean, that’s a pretty rare item,” one twin started, his predatory grin mirrored on his twin’s face. However, neither of them got in another word as Soundwave shook his helm.
“A gift,” Soundwave stated, “for your mate.”
Breakdown’s spark whirled madly.
“Oh, no, he’s not—it’s not like that!” he insisted, flustered as he shook his helm.
The twins rolled their optics while Soundwave’s helm tilted with curiosity.
“He is a barbarian you separated from his tribe and brought with your own, correct?”
“But I didn’t kidnap him!” Breakdown argued, at once indignant again at the accusation. After seeing how Airachnid and her tribe treated Knockout, Breakdown would never let anyone do that to the barbarian, let alone do so himself. “I didn’t force him to come here with me or anything! He could leave if he wanted--”
“Idiot,” the twins echoed, their tone bored. Breakdown’s frown deepened as he glowered at them.
“Not accusing matenapping,” Soundwave explained, tone still as even as ever, apparently not at all concerned with upsetting Breakdown. “Matenapping and barbarian courtship practices often confused, but are not equivalent.”
“They’re—they’re not the same thing?” Breakdown asked, doing his best to focus on Soundwave instead of the small barbarians silently mocking him.
“No. Matenapping equivalent to kidnapping and slavery. Barbarian courtship involves catching a potential mate to exhibit physical traits, then bringing them to the courter’s tribe, using travel time to exhibit further traits that prove the courter will be a good mate and the new tribe a good match. Potential mate may end courtship and return to their tribe at any time.”
Breakdown felt realization dawning unbidden.
“Wait. Really?”
“I can’t believe an idiot citymech like you managed to accidentally court a Velocitron,” one twin grumbled bitterly while the other nodded in agreement.
Soundwave however asked, “Courtship not discussed?”
“No. I mean, we don’t really speak the same language yet—there’s no way he—sorry, I should probably go,” Breakdown stammered, gathering up the fabric in his servos. “You sure I can just--?”
“Gift,” Soundwave insisted.
“You’ll need it,” one twin agreed.
“Thanks,” Breakdown said to Soundwave as he shoved his prize away and turned to leave. However, he only got a step or two before spinning back around and catching Soundwave’s gaze. After a moment of considering and reconsidering, Breakdown asked, “You don’t happen to know what a barithi is, do you?”
That left the minibots stumped, but there was no mistaking the amused flicker of Soundwave’s visor.
