I think that one of the things I like about Liushen is how on Shen Qingqiu's end, that's his relationship with the least amount of baggage, and on Liu Qingge's end, it's got the most.

I think of the liushen dynamic like a shy little boy who has a crush on his teacher. I can imagine Liu Qingge running up to Shen Yuan with his fist closed around something until his shixiong goes, "Oh, it's a gift for me?" And Liu Qingge wordlessly nods and opens his hand and gives him a dead bug. Shen Yuan politely says that's very nice and Liu Qingge blushes and replies, "Want to see me do a flying sword trick." And it's phrased as a question but he does it before Shen Yuan can answer. Shen Yuan claps his hands and comments, "Wow shidi, that was really cool!" This is an average flirting session between two adult men and both of them are completely sincere during this interaction.

Luo Binghe is actually pretty lucky that Liu Mingyan shipped Bingqiu as hard as she did. Can you imagine what could have happened if she had wanted to make Liushen happen? Liu Qingge might have actually realized he had feelings. Liu Mingyan would have invented powerpoints just to walk her oblivious older brother through her plan to get him a husband. There would be a whole network of Cang Qiong fujoshis trying to engineer wife plots like the damn CIA. Forget the System, forget the old palace master, forget Xin Mo, Liu Mingyan would be the final boss for Binghe to get to Shen Qingqiu, and she would have had a whole Jedi council of his would-have-been wives. But because Binghe is Airplane’s favorite, instead he gets bad sex advice from her smut books.

This has probably been said before but the svsss fandom is just so fun.

First, the fics! Oh look another shen yuan disciple au? Oh but binghe is his shixiong? Read and kudosed! Oh another shen yuan disciple au? But shen jiu is his shidi??? Devoured! Oh another shen yuan peak lord au? With shen jiu AND binghe as his disciples? Oof guess I gotta clear my calendar. Demonic shen yuan? I better see some monster fucking! Shen jiu gets reborn again? Well- and on and on and on and on.

And the ships of course! Yeah I ship bingqiu! But also bingliushen, liushen, bingliu, bingjiu, qijiu, jiuyuan, zhushen, qijiushen, tianjiu, moshang, cumplane, mingling, and of course, bing(mei)bing(ge)qiu!

Usually in other fandoms there are only one or two pairings I feel the urge to gnaw on. In svsss though, it literally depends on the fucking day.
