I need help with finding a tmnt fic that I believe was on ao3. It was one of those fics where the 03 and rottmnt versions meet, but with the rottmnt guts acting like actual animals. No talking, hunting for food, chirping, growling. That type of stuff.

Small confession, sometimes i needed to take a peek at your OC's profile sheet to make sure if I did it right. However, here's the little issue, whenever i look at my OC's sheet i feel like i didn't put enough information about them but at the same time I also feel like I've spilled too much about everything. You probably have tips on what essential points should to add to OC's profile??

To answer your question, the line between too much and not enough is kinda blurry, like it's your OC, you can spill anything about them as you like, but what exactly are you spilling? I think we can divide it into two categories : informations that directly contributes to their story, and informations that doesn't really contribute to their story.

I don't know if your OC is a Call of Duty OC or not, but examples of *Informations that directly contributes to their story* is like 'How did they meet the canon characters?' 'What do they do for a living?' "What are their personalities?' "What are their goals? Their fears?" "What's their life story?" "At what point in their life story did everything changes for them?"

Meanwhile, the *Informations that doesn't really contribute to their story* is the miscellanous stuffs like "what's their favourite color? Fave food and drink?" "What's their aeshetic?" "What are their quirks?" "What are the fun facts about them?" "what are their hobbies?"

I think dividing this pieces of information can help us map out our OC better, especially as we share them on Tumblr for other people to see. Of course, I don't think that we gotta be too serious that we're only giving info about their story only, because it makes them "life-less" and "un-relatable". Meanwhile, if we're focusing too much on the miscellaneous informations, it's like the OC can't be "involved" or it feels like "it doesn't belong" in the world where we insert our OC's in.

Finding the balance between these pieces of information is the key! Of course you can have fun with your OC, it's one of the many reasons OC's are made but I also think that believability is important, and focusing on their role/part in the story would be beneficial to your OC's character development (★‿★)
