MASON CITY – The NIACC athletic department has announced its 2024 Hall of Fame class, which will be fifth class in school history.
A total of six former standout student-athletes, a national championship team and a long-time NIACC athletic supporter will make up the Class of 2024.

Thank you so much for everyone who took part in this. I tried to get them all to fit. It may not be the most serious song but the video sure turned out even more dramatic than I had anticipated...

Because the talent collected for Pokemon Masters impresses me, I’m making this masterlist post of voice actors. They are divided into four categories: Fresh and Unestablished (VAs who just surfaced in the past few years and haven’t become noteworthy names at the time of their casting), Fresh and Established (VAs whose careers have spanned the late 2010s and are already well recognized for at least one other major role, usually several), Veteran (VAs whose careers have spanned the late 2000s / early 2010s), and Super Veteran (VAs whose careers have spanned the early 2000s or even earlier). Again, bear in mind this reflects their status when cast for this game - obviously, things change: some Unestablished VAs are now starting to become Established, some Established VAs are reaching Veteran status, and eventually Veteran VAs will be known as Super Veterans. Over the last 2 weeks, I have been fielding many white-guilt questions at work and having very interesting conversations and Zoom calls. Overall, they have been well received, but I am not sure if anything will happen once this is no longer a hot topic. I hope we keep up the momentum, but the media and Politicians and other power holders will try to silence us as quickly as possible. All of the companies realizing that #BlackLivesMatter will inevitably fade away as well. WE HAVE TO KEEP THE PRESSURE ON. So I made a list of talking points for the company that I work for, I hope they put it to use. I will begin sending this to anyone that reaches out to me to “talk” or “to see if I am ok”. While I appreciate the concern (if it’s genuine), I cannot continue being your only Black friend or the only Black person that you feel comfortable speaking to.
I saw this on Twitter recently, White privilege doesn't mean that your life hasn't been hard, it just means that the color of your skin isn't one of the things that makes it harder. I think this pretty much sums up what white people need to understand, what those people calling themselves our allies need to understand. Having Black pride & saying Black Lives Matter should not offend anyone. It does not mean that we are anti white people.
Black people are not a monolith. While we have all experienced racism in some form or another, we do not share the exact same experiences with it. To try and get an overall view of the different types of racism, you need to speak to many different Black people. Stop treating us as a collective, we are all individuals. Racism has permeated every single institution in this country. Education, Housing, Banking, Healthcare, Criminal Justice, Entertainment, etc. Racism is very much systemic, not always overt. There are also many different microaggressions that do not present as overt racism. Also, if we are going to have these discussions, please make sure that we feel safe, that we will be heard without reprimand or cynicism or disbelief. Our silence is the reason why this has gone on for so long. We want to be heard. We are no longer willing to stay invisible. Fear makes many of us stay silent, not willing to upset the status quo.
Revamp your hiring strategy/quota. People and organizations tend to conflate diversity and inclusivity. They are NOT the same. While there are many women, LGBTQIA members, Black and other People of Color, the Executives, Sales Management, and HR do not reflect this.
Conversations about race and other social justice issues are uncomfortable. Having these conversations without any Black and People of color present is pointless. Make sure you have Black people and other People of Color in any discussions you have regarding race relations and any other social justice issues. Empathy and sympathy is great, but it will not replace an actual experience.
Understand that the current state of the world has been a long time coming. George Floyd was the straw that broke the camel's back. The only difference is that everyone has a camera now and the police aren't doing themselves any favors by brutalizing everyone who is protesting police brutality.
Acknowledge your privilege. Acknowledge that the system is built to benefit you more than it does us and that it always has.
Saying "I'm not racist" isn't enough anymore. You have to be anti-racist. You have to stop the jokes, stereotypes, etc amongst your circle of friends and family members. This will be hard. But Black and Brown lives have to matter more than offending anyone that is unwilling to change.
Racism is not up to Black people and other People of Color to solve. This wasn't created or instituted by us and as we remain the "minority" in positions of power, we are unable to change it. We only have the ability to fight it, to rise up and demand change. To show that we will no longer take it. We will no longer be silent. We were all taught to be quiet and hold our feelings in to make sure that white people are comfortable. To make sure that we don’t appear threatening or angry. That is changing. Things will not go back to the way that they were.

North Dakota State is the team to beat again, but others are lining up for the chase
If a team had to beat North Dakota State in a playoff series, the NCAA might as well save the time and (the Bison opponents’) energy and ship the FCS championship trophy to Fargo in early September.
But it only takes a one-and-done day for somebody to knock off the NDSU dynasty, and though it’s only happened once in the Bison’s six national championship seasons over the last seven years, James Madison proved in the 2016 semifinals and nearly in this year’s final that it can happen.
That’s why teams keep lining up to take their best shot at toppling college football’s most successful program this decade.
With North Dakota State leading the way, here’s a look at seven programs that hold legitimate national title aspirations in 2018.
— Written by Craig Haley, who is part of the Athlon Contributor Network. Haley has covered the FCS level since 1999 and is the national writer for www.fcs.football. He appears frequently on radio shows and podcasts to discuss everything FCS. Follow him on Twitter @CraigHaley.
North Dakota State Bison
Head Coach: Chris Klieman (54-6, four seasons)
2017 Season: 14-1 (7-1 Missouri Valley champion), FCS champion
Key Returnees: QB Easton Stick, RB Bruce Anderson, RB Lance Dunn, WR Darrius Shepherd, C Tanner Volson, DE Greg Menard, DT Aaron Steidl, LB Jabril Cox, SS Robbie Grimsley, CB Jalen Allison, PK Cam Pedersen
National Title Aspirations: The national champs will have a senior-laden team as they go after a seventh FCS title, which would set a new record (the Bison and Georgia Southern are tied for the most with six each). Stick returns with a 34-3 record as a starting quarterback. Three starters on the offensive line also are back to pave the way for a ridiculously good stable of running backs led by Anderson, Dunn and Ty Brooks. Not surprisingly, the defense ranked No. 1 in the FCS this past season and it gets back All-American Menard from a preseason knee injury. The schedule is advantageous because the Bison don’t leave the Fargodome until October and play seven of their 11 games at home.

James Madison Dukes
Head Coach: Mike Houston (28-2, two seasons)
2017 Season: 14-1 (8-0 CAA Football champion), FCS runner-up
Key Returnees: QB Cole Johnson, RB Marcus Marshall, RB Trai Sharp, WR Riley Stapleton, WR David Eldridge, RT Jahee Jackson, DE Darrious Carter, CB Jimmy Moreland, CB Rashad Robinson, SS/PR D’Angelo Amios, PK Ethan Ratke, P Harry O’Kelly
National Title Aspirations: The Dukes lose more key players than new rival North Dakota State, but Houston has quickly built the program to withstand such change. The running back stable will rival NDSU as the deepest in the FCS if Cardon Johnson (Achilles tear in 2017) is granted a sixth season and rejoins Marshall and Sharp. It will be difficult to replace the leadership of quarterback Bryan Schor, but candidates Cole Johnson, Gage Maloney and Ben DiNucci, who is expected to transfer in from Pittsburgh, hope to deliver productivity. The front seven of the defense has to be retooled after big senior losses, but Moreland and Robinson form a pair of shutdown cornerbacks in the strong secondary.
I made a tier list for Pokemon Masters voices for all characters as of the current update.
Definitive voices are those that I just can’t unhear as the voice for the character eclipsing all others. Good voices are those that do just fine but either could have done better, suffer from comparison to better voices in other renditions of the character, or sound too similar to other renditions for it to matter. Bad voices are just...ugh, just what the Hell were they thinking!?
