Arthur is sleeping Beauty (naturally) and Uther has declared that any princess who'll wake Arthur will be rewarded handsomly.

Merlin: I think I know how to wake him

Uther: how? Spill it boy?

Merlin: well, it IS true loves kiss... And I happen to have an inkling who might be in love with him, BUT I will only help under a few conditions.

Uther: *growling* I could just have anyone in this kingdom kiss him and figure it out like that

Merlin: yes, because that won't stirr trouble

Uther: urgh, fine. What do you want?

Merlin: I want you to accept that person as Arthur's potential partner. Regardless of station or ... Or whatever you may think is wrong with them. Don't kill them for their attempt to help.

Uther: ... What?

Merlin: And I want you to accept whoever Arthur chooses for himself after this, no matter the consequences, the law... Or Potential embarrassment to the crown. Even if he chooses against them, chooses another, it will remain his choice and his alone.

Uther: ...

Merlin: what do you say?

Uther: you could have asked for gold, land, a wife, you could have asked for knighthood and title, heck, even just your own horse... But you choose my son's happiness? Why?

Merlin: I can explain

Arthur: what the ever living - father, I swear I -

Uther: I know exactly what's going on. Merlin, I understand now, I gave you my word. Good luck *leaves*

Merlin: i lied to you, Arthur. When I said I wanted to move on, when I broke up with you, I lied. I couldn't bear being with you, knowing it was temporary. That someone else would always have you trapped. You told me I was the love of your life, so - I helped

Arthur: huh?

Merlin: I gave you a love potion that you would only wake if your true love kisses you

Arthur: you drugged me?

Merlin: yes. To set you free

Arthur: but - you fucking DRUGGED ME!

Merlin: I bargained with Uther to accept only whoever you choose for yourself in love in exchange for waking you. I understand if you're mad at me for the drug but I feared you wouldn't love me anymore if I told you and I couldn't risk that you wouldn't wake up. I never blamed you for the rules you were stuck in but it broke my heart to see you struggle with it and I - I just wish for that choice to be yours. *Takes deep breath* you can hate me now if you wish but I don't regret what I did.

Arthur: Merlin, you - idiot! That was dangerous!

Merlin: I couldn't just stand by and mope while your dad trapped you in a marriage with someone else! You would have been miserable!

Arthur: you could have been caught! You could be DEAD for what you did! Even just for asking all that nonsense!

Merlin: Uther Pendragon always keeps his word

Hello people, so I'm German and there is this new Movie called 'Chantal im Märchenland' and it is a continuation of 3 movies called 'Fack ju Goehte' and it's not the main point but there are two gays in there.

One is a prince and the other his servant. Might wanna remember for a moment what I'm hinting at. Anyway there are I think 4 scenes with the two of them but all of them are quite long sooo.

What I'm trying to say is that if you are German or if you understand German than it is a recommendation from my side.

absoluter banger heut im kino bei den trailern vor dune. da hatten wir nen trailer für chantal im märchenland (chantal aus fack ju göhte landed im märchenland. wird warscheinlich genau so weird wie's klingt) und einer von den vier jungs neben mir so "wir sollten den gehen statt dune zwei" und honestly das war schon einfach ne hammer ansage

Chantal im Märchenland ist so gut! Ich glaub, ich will den direkt noch einmal schauen.

Maßvoll, Chantal im Märchenland war garnicht mal so beschissen. Mal abgesehen davon dass der Film einfach dafür sorgt, dass die gesamte Fack Ju Göhte Reihe rückwirkend in einer Modern-with-magic AU a la ao3 spielt, und der Humor an vielen Stellen eben. Fremdscham-erzeugend auf eine Art wie es nur Deutsche Filme sein können. ist, war er ganz nett.

Hatte an einigen Stellen sogar ziemlich gutes Foreshadowing zu Geschehnissen die später passieren (wobei ich glaube, dass die Szene an die ich hauptsächlich denke eher als "Chekov‘s gun“ bezeichnet wird, aber egal-)

Und die Kulissen/Klamotten/generelle Presentation war unironisch gut gemacht. Vielleicht hat die konstante Bombardierung von cgi-zugepflasterten Superheldenfilmen meine Wahrnehmung verzerrt, aber kommt schon, der Film sieht was das Setting angeht doch schon gut aus. Da hat sich jemand Mühe gegeben beim Nähen.

FILMINFORMATIONEN

Chantal (Jella Haase) ist immer noch die ewige Influencerin - nur leider ohne Follower. Da gelangen sie und ihre beste Freundin Zeynep (Gizem Emre) an einen antiken Spiegel, den sie für ein Social Media-Gimmick halten. Doch wie durch Zauberhand geraten sie durch den Spiegel in eine verwunschene Märchenwelt. Für Chantal die perfekte Gelegenheit - denn als Prinzessin kann man wohl den besten Content erstellen, oder? Dort angekommen können die heiratswilligen Prinzen ihren Augen nicht trauen. So eine krasse Prinzessin haben sie ja noch nie erlebt! Die beiden Freundinnen Chanti und Zeynep stellen schnell fest, dass sie nicht in irgendeinem Märchen gelandet sind, sondern ausgerechnet in „Dornröschen“! Chantal stellt schnell fest, dass in der Welt der Feen und Hexen vieles anders läuft als in den Geschichten der Gebrüder Grimm geschrieben steht. Von nun an bekommen es die beiden Freundinnen mit Prinzessin Amalia (Maria Ehrich) zu tun, deren größter Traum es eben nicht ist, verheiratet zu werden, mit dem romantischen Prinzen Bosco (Max von der Groeben), der noch immer nicht herausgefunden hat, was er aus seinem Leben machen will; Aladin (Mido Kotaini) hat noch nie etwas von einem fliegenden Teppich gehört und Sansara (Nora Tschirner) ist keine Hexe, wie sie im Buche steht. Zwischen all dem Chaos müssen Chantal und Zeynep nun versuchen, einen Weg zurück in ihre eigene Welt zu finden.
