Night🌙

It's May 8th, 2018. About 70°F outside.

I'm sitting on my front porch. At my Nana's house that is now recently my home too. It's my third night here.

Today wasn't the best but it wasn't bad either. After I ate dinner, I went outside with my parents. I was sitting across from my dad. My stepmom was next to me. We were just sitting there and talking. My little brother was riding his bike around us. After a little while, they went inside because it was time for them to go to bed.

I decided that I wasn't ready to go inside.

So I went and got a small blanket and laid it on the front porch. I sat down and put my headphones in and turned on some Machine Gun Kelly. I looked up at the sky. It was only a little dark outside.

I have been sitting here lost in my head as I watch the sky get darker and the stars come out. It's so peaceful.

I'm currently sitting here in my shorts, white T-shirt and my black Converse with my hair in a bun and listening to Chasing Pavements by Machine Gun Kelly. It's the perfect song for tonight.

I like watching as more and more stars show up. There is one to my left that I keep looking over at. It's smaller but brighter than all the others. It's getting colder but I still love it.

If you look directly in front of me, you can see the American Flag just wavin in the little amount of wind that there is. The only thing that would make it better is if I had a fire going and my sister here with me.

I've always felt the most comfortable and awake at night. It's so dark and peaceful. Just you, the moon and stars and some music.

I like to go on walk at night. Of course, I like to have someone with me but that's only because I don't think it's the safest to walk alone at night. So I'll just stay on my porch. I'm content enough here. Now I'm listening to Dark Side Of The Moon by Machine Gun Kelly. It's kind of a sad song but that's okay. I still feel at peace.

Maybe I'm weird but tonight is really good. I'm happy right now. Happy and content. Just sitting here getting lost in my head. No cares in the world, thinking about the future and what it holds, feeling hopeful and like everything will be okay.

I keep thinking that when I'm older, I want my kids to go sit outside, listen to music and think about the words I'm saying. I am going to write this down. Write how I feel and write my story. I hope they do the same for their kids.

I wish my parents would have done it. So I can know what they went through. What they felt and what they thought about on nights like these.

I think everyone should do it. It may help them. Help them feel closer to you if you aren't there. Help them know what you went through and help them remember that even if life doesn't seem good right now, it'll always get better. Help them remember that they will have nights like these where they sit outside and think about life and feel at peace.
