price would be strangely possessive over his assistant.
Tumblr media
referring to her as things that really aren’t work appropriate at all. “swee’eart,” “dolly,” “sugar.” once, a “baby” slipped through his teeth, but he was switching the subject before she could really catch on.
it’s hard to pinpoint exactly when it was he started tacking “my” in front of his pet names. “my angel,” “my love.”
even when she wasn’t in the room — it was impossible to know he was talking about a colleague with the way he spoke about her. “my woman’s always on my case abou’ shit like that — cholesterol levels, sugar intake. fuckin’ bullshit, but i do it to make ‘er happy.” or “can’t stay long, lads — got my lady waitin’ on me.”
in the summer months, her skirts get a bit shorter and her tops a bit tighter. he doesn’t blame her, the AC is shit and the heat can be suffocating. what does bother him, though, is the way his men ogle her as they stroll past her desk. how they’re coming up with excuses to visit her throughout the day.
it’s an easy enough fix. “why don’t ye come work in my office for the day, lovey?” he’s already collecting her paperwork. “keep an old man company, would ye? i’ve got a nice little fan too, keep ye nice an’ cool.”
though the job came with benefits, perhaps more than an assistant should be getting, price didn’t think it was enough. when her phone started to slow and the screen cracked, he left a new one on her desk. didn’t bother mentioning it came out of his paycheque. if she complains about her outfit — all my good clothes are in the wash — he’ll take her shopping, doesn’t let her worry about the totals. and, hey, if they end up at a lingerie shop, no one has to know, right? he’s just being a good boss. it’s only crossing a few boundaries when he gets her to model it for him in the fitting rooms. when she disappears behind the curtain, john adjusts himself in his slacks — it’s a natural reaction. on that note, it would make too much of a fuss if he were to correct the worker when she asks if his wife needs any help.
when day turns to night and she’s refusing price’s suggestion of hitting another shop, he pulls into a nearby restaurant, insists on treating her to a glass of wine to end the night. finding out she’s a lightweight is a pleasant discovery — two glasses in and her skin is warm to the touch, she’s giggling and hanging onto his every word. he likes her like this, he decides — but it’s not safe to leave her alone. no, she should stay with him tonight. another few sips and she’s agreeing, changing into one of her new lingerie sets and falling into john’s bed, dozing off with his hand splayed over her tummy, beard tickling the back of her neck.
it’s been too long since he’s had a woman in his life. his wires have gotten a bit crossed. you can’t blame him, can you?

Okay THANK YOU for saying “your body craves what it needs” is bs because that felt like bs this whole time.
Like you don’t need more sugar if you crave sweets that is NOT what that means. Sugar is a food that people crave because it tastes good/sugar I think is an addictive food??
Idk it just felt like people making excuses when they’re supposed to be trying to eat a little healthier (healthier, not low cal, not low fat or keto or whatever. Diets are bs but craving sweets does not mean sugar is healthy thing for your body rn)
People crave sugar because it tastes good, which is not a bad thing, and there is an evolutionary reason that sugar and fat taste good to us. Carbs are your body's favorite thing because it is SUPER easy for your body to break them down into useful molecules.
I'm not a fan of the idea that any foods are addictive and I'm skeptical of models that suggest "refined food addiction" is a thing with a measurable, real-world impact; there's a lot of debate in that area of nutrition science and to me it kind of seems like the tools people use to track food addiction aren't really examining the addictiveness of specific foods, but are decent screening tools for people who have compulsive behaviors around food (for instance, one group of people who the Yale Food Addiction Scale has repeatedly been demonstrated to be REALLY good at identifying is people with anorexia).
But your body needs sugar all the time, whether that's in the form of complex carbohydrates that get broken down into simple sugars by your body, or simple sugars that you stir into your tea that then gets sent to your cells as energy. If your diet doesn't have enough sugar in it, your body has a processes to turn non-sugars into sugar so that it can use the sugar (gluconeogenesis!). Sugar is unambiguously good for you in the way that fat is unambiguously good for you. You need sugar to survive and it's not a bad thing if you want to have a cookie or a soda or some candy, and again - your craving probably isn't telling you that you're deficient in a specific micro or macronutrient, but I still think that you should listen to your craving.
Like, I don't know how much you know about psychotherapy but the attitude that a lot of diet-focused discussion takes toward cravings reminds me of cognitive behavioral therapy. "When you crave chocolate, no you don't! Don't think about the chocolate, you actually probably need starch or sugar or something, let's redirect that into having a banana, or some frozen berries, or some spinach. Point away from the unhealthy craving and into the healthy replacement, or, better yet, ignore the craving. Mind over matter. You choose how you act."
(I actually think "X craving means that I want Y food so I shall replace it with Z, which is similar" "craving salt means that I am dehydrated and need electrolytes so instead of potato chips I'll have some soup" is how this goes most of the time. I think this is a diet culture thing, not a food positivity thing.)
And you know what I think that's a garbage way to look at both food and emotions.
When I'm craving ice cream it's not because I've been mostly vegetarian for a week and am low on dietary cholesterol (AN IMPORTANT NUTRIENT. Don't be scared of consuming some cholesterol), I'm craving ice cream because sugar and fat taste good. So instead of trying to pretend that I'm getting "what I need" from a piece of salmon the size of a deck of cards with no salt and some lemon squeezed on top, I'm going to scoop out a moderate portion of ice cream and eat it while focusing on how much I enjoy it. And I'm going to do that instead of sitting down with a pint and a spoon while I'm stressed at work and eating something that tastes good to distract from the fact that work is stressful. (And sometimes it's fine to sit down with a pint and a spoon but I will say that's generally best not to do while you're in the middle of something stressful)
And if you want to relate that back to therapy I see this as more of the DBT approach. I've accepted that I want ice cream so I'm going to eat it in an intentional way and enjoy it instead of eating so much that I don't want dinner, or that it makes me feel sick, or that I eat it without noticing it because I'm using it as a distraction instead of a snack.
I'm not trying to shut down the negative emotion or shun the "bad" food, I'm accepting that I have that emotion and I'm working this neutral food into my day so that I'll feel good tomorrow and won't get heartburn overnight.
So I see that you're trying to be kind of anti diet culture here, but I don't think people need excuses to eat sugar, and I actually think that making excuses to eat it is significantly less healthy than just eating the sugar (which, again, is unambiguously healthy to eat as part of a varied, filling, nutritious diet). It seems like you may have internalized some ideas about sugar that are not great even if you are trying to separate from diet culture.
Nobody is ever going to eat a diet so healthy and nutritionally complete that they don't want candy or cake or cookies sometimes. Food is not only fuel, it is entertainment and culture and comfort and distraction and celebration and a million other things, but it is not bad. I don't think there's a single universally bad food out there, or any food that never belongs as part of someone's diet (unless it's something you're allergic to - I don't care if you're craving peanuts, do not eat peanuts if you have a peanut allergy).
So it's okay to make sugar, you don't need to make excuses. It's okay to eat sugar if you're craving sugar, even if that's not what your body "needs". But also sometimes a craving is your body saying "I'm hungry and this sounds good, please feed me" even if you're not a finely-tuned spectrometer that's craving blueberries pie because you actually need antioxidants from the blueberries (you're not a finely tuned spectrometer, you don't need the antioxidants from the blueberries, it's perfectly fine to just eat a slice of pie).

: ̗̀➛𝙰𝙽: Hey y'all! This is my first time writing in a while, so it hope it doesn't suck lmao. Let me know if you guys are interested in this series cause I got lots more to come!
Tumblr media
AMMO's newest addition to the team was Armando Aretas. That's right, the same Armando Aretas that had been a convicted drug dealer, cop killer, and fugitive.
It took some serious string pulling but Rita and Judy managed to get Armando amnesty due to his help with bringing down Lockwood and McGrath. It took a while, but they managed to get it done. In exchange, he needed to work with Miami PD.
Armando was a dangerous man, that was true enough, but he was also an asset. Better to have him on your team than to be against him. Plus, it helped everyone keep an eye on him. He hadn't quite earned the trust of those in his new life.
There was a part of him that didn't care. He'd lived this long without the approval or validation of others, so what was different? Then there was a part of him that wanted to put that behind him. His previous life was a tiresome one.
Tumblr media
AMMO had been steaking out a night club for about a week. They'd finally gathered enough proof for them to carry out their raid. Tonight was the night, they just needed to get the green light from their UC.
"Yo, Mike. You think we could stop at that hot dog shack on the corner after this?" Marcus attempted to whisper but the small space in the truck provided no privacy. "Hell no, Marcus. Teresa just said your cholesterol was sky high and you gained about three pounds this month."
"Uh.., now, see. Did you have to put my business out there like that, Mike?" Armando shook his head. His father and surrogate uncle were admittedly the best part of his new life, even if they were annoying. "Will you two shut up?" He muttered.
Kelly and Dorn's smirks of amusement always seemed to be present whenever they were with the three men. "Hey hey hey. What's happening?"
Armando's eyes locked on the commotion breaking out on the scene. The place was getting swarmed. Their UC hadn't sent the signal so it sure as shit wasn't them. A woman appeared on screen gun drawn and shouting for everybody to get down. "Who the fuck is that?"
Tumblr media
After the raid ended, AMMO exited their van. Armando charging over to the woman who was speaking to who he could only assume she was debriefing to. This woman was clearly police, but she wasn't with them, so as far as he was concerned-- She was out of line. The area was lit up with flashing red and blue lights, cops littered throughout the parking lot, but he was zeroed in on her.
"What the fuck was that and who the fuck are you?" His accent thick in anger at this woman who'd just blew up his mission. His first big chance at showing the team he was really with them.
"Excuse me? You better back the fuck up that's who the fuck I am. Who the fuck are you?" She was feisty that's for sure, responding to him in the same way he'd come at her. In all honesty, it'd taken her a moment to register he was speaking to her because, what?? His hostility towards her was at an all time high for someone who she'd never laid eyes on before.
"Your little raid fucked up our cocaine bust." His nostrils flared in anger as he stepped to the woman a few inches shorter than him. "Or maybe your cocaine bust got in the middle of my prostitution bust." She shot back. "Again, who the hell are you?" The low rasp of his voice was venomous. "I don't answer to you, I don't even know who you are. Let's start with that before charging over here like you hot shit or something."
Armando opened his mouth to respond but was cut off by Marcus. "Hey! Ok, everyone. Let's just calm down." Marcus laughed nervously, stepping between the two of them. "Miss, I'm so sorry for Armando. You know, it's that Latin fire in 'em. Hard to turn off. Um, I'm Marcus and We're AMMO. You are?"
"Raven." Her tone softened but her eyes still blazed with anger in the direction of the young male, who was admittedly cute but clearly had her fucked up. "Vice."

Hey support. I gave my phone to my dad for safekeeping while I went to a doctors appointment. During the appointment, I started feeling strange, like I was getting dumber? Also my shirt feels tight, don’t know if that’s something.
It's just a screening appointment. I'm here because I need to get my blood levels checked. Of course, I know for a fact that the doctor will say something about my cholesterol levels again. He will say something about the fact that I should do more sport. What should I do? I'm a junior in college. It is extremely challenging to keep up with the curriculum.
The shirt is not only tight, it is also itchy. It would be nice if the doctor came soon. Then I can finally take it off for the examination. I don't have forever. I have to be back on campus by 4 p.m. at the latest. Otherwise I won't have enough time to warm up before training.
I hope da doc isn't uh wimp. Yes, I cud have taken uh shower before going to da doctor. But before da doctor wuz gym, afta da doctor is football training. Ha much sense does uh shower make? let me check my armpit. Yes, gud jock sweat. Da doctor will like that.
Bruh, I'm lowkey praying this ain't nah shredded muscle or somethin wild like that. Haha, damn, I probably went ham on dem weights, but you know ha it goes on chest day - total amnesia, all about them pecs! I live for chest day!
Tumblr media
Yo fam, like, why do I gotta chill on this chair every time for them to drain my blood? n why does da doc gotta inspect my balls first, like, what even? but hey, he's da med guru, he must know his shit, right? lit to know that my coach is posted up in da waiting room holding down my celly. Praying I can bounce back to ballin' with da squad pronto. Da ultimate showdown is goin' down this weekend. N coach dropped uh hint about needing uh fresh QB on da team. Please, oh please, let it be yours truly!

Regarding #465: No, there shouldn’t be more fat people shown in star trek/starfleet. Showing fat ppl in the future isn’t body positivity. Currently, the food industry is screwing us and we are fat due to that mainly. Fat ppl exist only in rich capitalist countries with the social fabric in tatters. We are massively struggling with anxiety and stress and using screen n food addiction as a coping mechanism, making us more fat. In the future, we would have overcome all these problems. Truly nutritious food isn’t addictive and it’s impossible to grow fat on it. Ppl would be healthy, happy and have a ‘range’ of body types sure, but fatness is not a body type.
Tumblr media
I am so upset about this that I ended up blocking yesterday's queue cold-turkey.
People should have a range of body types just as long as it's not fat? This is not future body positivity, this is plain and simple fatphobia and I don't need any of your transparent disgust of fat people in my blog, implying that all fat people are, either or in combination, poor, miserable, mentally struggling, etc.
It's also rather telling that you couldn't conceive that some people love being fat, and don't want to lose weight even if they could.
If in the future we will have good food and no capitalism and good enough medicine to eradicate obesity-related issues like bad cholesterol and such (crew forgive my ignorance on the matter), fat people would prosper because doctors and fatphobes would lose the ace card you played here that they love so much: that fatness is in itself a threatening medical condition and, depending on which is more convenient, the root cause or the consequence of countless medical problems that at long turn out to be not really related to body weight at all.
Also, who the fuck cares what really happens in the 23rd century? We won't be here to see what the ideal body type will be by that point. We are speaking representation in the now, not what if scenarios. Fat people don't owe people like you anything because they never let us have anything. They certainly don't owe you the comfort of living in your eugenic-flavored fantasy where nobody has a body shape that upsets you. There are more overweight, fat, and downright obese people than there are thin in this world, and the film industry should fucking grow a spine for once and actually reflect that. Yes, we shouldn't encourage bad eating habits, but that's not what the original confession was talking about. It was about how it's great to see a beautiful, healthy woman whose body weight doesn't take anything from that beauty and that healthiness, and that it would be even greater to see more of those type of characters. You having an issue with that speaks a lot about yourself, and the absolutely disgusting levels of fatphobia in the world.
Fat people deserve and belong in the camera, and in the future. Accept us or turn your screen off.
Footnote that the absolute clown levels it take to say that healthy food cannot make you fat, newsflash asshole, the healthiest, most organic food you can think of will make you fat if you eat it too much too often.

A Tale of Two Pringles
Leon S Kennedy(RE4) x GN!Reader
Words: 645
Summary: things are looking bleak in your desperate search to get your hands on a can of the limited edition suspicious stew pringles
Notes and Stuff: I wanted to imagine that "I thought of you" moment / That swedish game with the blocks and mobs and stuff yknow the one // somewhat inspired by true events(I really did want to try those chips...) / I suck at titles
It was the best of promotions; it was the worst of promotions. There you stood in a sea of salt and crispy potato thins, your disappointment reaching an all-time high as you scanned the aisle in the grocery store for what felt like the third or fourth time. You were dying to try the limited-edition suspicious stew Pringles but every store you went to was sold out or didn’t even carry it. Grocery stores, liquor stores, retail stores, you stopped at every place you could imagine would even have it. None.
Defeated you headed home, head filled with daydreams of the strange and exotic flavors that could have danced in your mouth if you had only learned of the promotion earlier. Even then, scalpers would have gotten it for sure someway or somehow. You tried to comfort your mind on the bus ride home as you listened to the Minecraft soundtrack. You couldn’t have the flavors of the world dance in your mouth but you could at least have the sounds comfort your crying potato chip yearning heart.
You stepped into your apartment and softly announced your presence. Disappointment still eating away at your heart, you didn’t think to listen for a response. Glancing over at the dining room table you saw your laptop open, the screen black. Beside the laptop was the mad scribblings of your master plan, the exact route you’d take to get your hands on this can. You sighed deeply before taking a seat in front of the laptop.
“Fuck it.” You said before turning the laptop on. You couldn’t let a can of potato chips and corporate manipulation get the best of you and your love for the game. Sooner than you expected, the disappointment in your heart and the lack of greasy cholesterol was eating at you just a little less.
Just before you got completely lost in the block world you heard the apartment door open and a familiar voice calmly call out “Hey, I’m home.” Leon walked into the dining room to find you seated in front of your laptop, the Minecraft music blaring from the speakers as he set his things down. “You alright?” He asked slightly concerned at your fixation for the game, he was used to you cheerfully greeting him as he arrived home.
“Yeah, I’m just bummed. I wanted this limited-edition flavor and I couldn’t find it any-“ As you turned to greet him as cheerfully as you could your eyes widened as you spotted the can in his hand. It was the stew. He had the stew. “W-where’d you get that?!?” You stammered as you jumped up.
“Just some random gas station. I actually went to get a cup of Joe and I saw this. Figured you’d like it since it’s Minecraft.” He raised it up towards you as he gave you a soft smile, unaware of the priceless treasure he was easily giving away to you.
You pounced on him, wrapping your arms around him for the strongest hug you felt you’d ever given in your life. “Thank you!” You said as you choked back tears of joy.
“Woah, I think you’re happier to see these chips more than me.” Leon joked as he patted your back, stuck in your hug, although he didn’t try to fight it.
“Of course, not…” you released him and gave a cute pouty face as you looked at the can. “I’ve just been looking everywhere for these and you just waltz on in here with them like nothing.” You paused to look up and smile at him. “Thanks for thinking of me.” You said still fighting back the tears of joy.
“Anytime.” Leon said as he wiped a tear from your face. He patted your shoulder and smiled at you. He looked at the laptop behind you and then back at you. “C’mon, I’ll watch.”

Health Check Ups List
You need to take care of your health, no matter what. It’s always better to spend a little right now to prevent bigger (and more expensive) issues later on. A rule my mother always taught me - if anything irritates/ you can feel pain/ something feels off with your ENT (Ears, Nose, Throat), get it checked out immediately.
In 2023, focus on your health. If you aren’t healthy, it will start affecting the other parts of your life - your career, personal life, social life- in the forms of stress, exhaustion, burn outs, etc.
If your periods are irregular or the bleeding isn’t consistent, visit your gyno immediately, it could be PCOS/PCOD. Always track your periods for this purpose.
Some other tests:
1. Pap and Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) tests- It is recommended to take a Pap and HPV screening between the age of 20 to 30 years to identify signs of cervical cancer and HPV virus at an early stage. Women aged between 21 and 29 should have a Pap test every three years and for women aged 25 to 29, HPV testing alone can be considered, although Pap tests are preferred.
2. Eye exam- From the age of 18 years, it is advised to get regular screening done.
3. Sexually transmitted diseases (STD)- One of the disadvantages of STD is that it shows no proper symptoms at an early stage. If a person is suffering from it, STD can be transmitted and passed on to your child and partner. Hence, it is advised to get regular screening done if a woman is sexually active.
4. Get your skin checked - At the age of 18, get your skin checked for abnormal moles or color changes on a monthly basis, especially if you're fair-skinned or frequently exposed to the sun.
5. Cholesterol - a risk factor for heart issues. Conduct your first test after the age of 20.
6. Breast cancer examination - once every 3 years after you hit your 20s.
7. Vitamin deficiency tests
8. Food allergy tests

Ohio Is For Lovers | J.B
CHAPTER 8
Joe Burrow x Reader.
Warnings: 18+ MDNI. Mention of pregnancy. Explicit language. Mention of cheating.
Word count: 3.4K
Tumblr media
Two weeks later:
It's been a few weeks now since you went over to Joe's after seeing him with his suppose baby's mother. It was Valentine's Day today and your office was covered in people receiving flowers, teddy bears, balloons, chocolate you name it. You weren't bitter about it, you always appreciated people showing love towards one another but what got annoying was people asking why you hadn't received anything as if you weren't painfully single and have been the entire time you'd been working there. It was finally the end of the day and you were going to get into your car and pick up some Chinese before heading home to drink a nice bottle of wine you got for Christmas from a coworker a few months ago.
All your friends, even Peyton had plans today which was a bit of a shocker because Peyton never seemed super interested in relationships but you were happy for him that he was going to spend Valentine's Day with a special someone. As you drove in traffic blasting Jonás Brothers as if you were 16 again a call came through. You looked at your radio screen and saw it was Joe. The guy hadn't left you alone since you went over his house that one night. He's called you everyday after work and texted you in the morning before his workouts and even at lunch.
"Hello?" You answer on the car Bluetooth. "Hey, you out of work?" Joe asks. "Yeah just sitting in traffic, what are you up to?" You ask. "Nothing much, I just wanted to see if you wanted to maybe come over and hang out? It's Friday and I've been so bored all week." Joe says. "It's Valentine's Day, shouldn't you have plans?" You smirk. "With who, Tee?" Joe says making you laugh. "I mean, girls have galentines why can't two bros do it?" You say and you hear Joe suck his teeth. "C'mon, yes or no. I wanna order food before it gets too busy with all the Valentines crap." Joe says. He definitely wasn't for the hallmark holiday. "Sure, just let me go home and change." You say. "Cool! Is Chinese okay?" He asks. "You read my mind." You nod as if he could see you. "Great, I'll see you soon." Joe says before he hangs up.
After going home to shower and change, you make your way too the nearest grocery store to buy some junk food. Knowing Joe is always on his health stuff and you wanted some double stuffed Oreos, candy and chips. After stopping at the store you head on over to Joe's. Things were a bit odd between the two of you after he told you how he felt about you but you knew he needed a support system right now and you just couldn't ignore him.
Parking in Joes driveway, you grab you things and head towards the door ringing the doorbell. After a moment the door opened. "Nice, you waited until I actually rang the doorbell this time." You smirk at Joe and he rolls his eyes letting you in. You notice he had a bit of a scruffy look going on and honestly, you thought it looked really good on him. It was too bad you coudln't do anything about it. "What do you got there?" Joe asks as you take off your shoes by the door. "Snacks." You say. "I have snacks." Joe says looking at you weird. "You have stuff 78 year old people eat to control their cholesterol and make them poop. These are real snacks." You say and he snatches the bag out of your hand to look at it and you snatch it back. "Rude!" You scoff. "What's rude is you basically saying my snacks suck!" Joe defends himself making you chuckle.
"Well, then get better snacks." You roll your eyes and he scoffs. You set the snacks down in the kitchen and see that the food was already there. "I got us a bit of everything since I forgot to ask what you liked, hope that's okay." Joe says taking stuff out the paper bags. "I'll eat anything! I skipped breakfast and lunch today." You say as he hands you some chicken and broccoli. "You should of texted me, I would of brought you some food." Joe says. "That's sweet but I wouldn't even had time to do that, I was running around all day." I shake my head.
You two serve yourself plates of food and head to the living room to sit down, watch a movie and eat. "So anything new with the baby?" You ask Joe and he sighs as he chews his food. "My publicist pretty much gave me a heads up the other day that the internet was speculating on Emily and her pregnancy. Someone caught her shopping in the baby section at some boutique and she's started to show more but was wearing a jacket so they couldn't really tell." Joe says. "How come she hasn't been more open about it? From what Mariana told me she seemed pretty into her social media and share a lot about her personal stuff. Why hide the baby?" You ask. "She's embarrassed. There's a big chance everyone will know the truth about how she was unfaithful to me in our relationship after she played it out to be the opposite with you and me." Joe says.
"Speaking about that...who might be the other dad if you don't mind me asking?" You ask him genuinely curious to that answer. "Some retired NFL player who got injured and never returned to the sport." Joe shrugs not giving you more information than that. It still clearly bothered him talking about them which you understood. "Wonder how he's taking all of this" You mutter taking a bite of your food. "I know they live together so I'm guessing pretty well." Joe shrugs and you just nod not wanting to push any further on the topic.
"How's work?" Joe asks picking at his food. "It's alright, they're opening another branch in Rhode Island and offered me a position there." You nod taking a sip of your water. Joe pauses and looks at you. "Are you... taking it?" He asks. "I don't know, I still have time to choose. Until late March or so." You shrug taking a bite of the an egg roll, you could sense that he didn't like what you had just said and was keeping his two cents to himself. "Why do you ask?" You ask, you don't know what it was about you that you always needed to shake the table with stuff like this, but you always did.
"No reason, just asking." He shrugs taking a bite of his food. God was he such a bad liar. "You seem like you have something to say." You push on and he sighs. "Rhode Island is kind of far, would suck to see you go." He says. Hearing that was more of a punch to the gut than you had hoped for. "It's like a 3 hour plane ride, if that and I'd visit every now and then. My family does live here and my friends are all here." You nod. "I know, I'm just saying it sucks that we won't have a lot more nights like these cause we'll be so far from each other." Joe says. "You never know, I'm sure Mariana will find away to fly me out over here for games and what not." You chuckle. "You know she's always up something." You smile.
"Now that you mention her... I sort of have to talk to you about her." Joe says hesitantly. It seemed serious which made you uneasy. "What's up?" You say setting your plate of food on the coffee table giving him your full attention. "I went to my lawyers office the other day to meet over this whole paternity test thing just to know what I can do and know my rights and stuff..." he says and you nod signaling to keep going. "When I was leaving the building and headed out to the parking lot... I saw her in the car with another guy and it looked to me like they kissed before the man got out and walked into the building." Joe says and your heart drops. "Are-are you sure it was her?" You ask confused. "There's not many people here in Cincy that drive a powdered blue G wagon..." Joe says and you sigh. "Fuck Mariana..." you sigh leaning back on the sofa. "I'm sorry." Joe says. "It's not your fault...I've just been here before." You say staring at the ceiling. "What do you mean?" Joe asks confused and you sigh before looking over at him.
"Before Ja'Marr... Mariana dated this guy named Cole, they were college sweethearts I guess you could say and she got caught up with a lawyer when she interning at some company early on in their relationship. They moved on from it, so they said but the relationship was never the same again. They fought a lot, one night I even had to go pick her up in the middle of the night with the gang because he had thrown her out of their apartment & he kept accusing her of cheating but he couldn't prove it. So they broke up. She stopped talking to the lawyer, or so she said and now she's been with Ja'Marr but it seems like she still hasn't cut ties with that lawyer. after all" You say rubbing your temples.
"Wait, so this isn't anything new? Why not tell Ja'Marr?" Joe asks. "She promised me it was over and seeing how into Ja'Marr she was I believed her. The lawyer dude is married himself." You say and Joes jaw hangs when I tell him that. "What the fuck." Joe says processing everything. You grab your phone and decide to text Peyton and Sasha your infamous "Code Law" text that you guys used when Mariana was going through something with the lawyer.
"Who are you texting?" Joe asks. "Sasha and Peyton, you just opened up a can of worms that we tried burning years ago." You snort and Joe looks at you a small kid who broke something. "Have you told Ja'Marr?" You ask Joe setting your phone down. "No, cause what if I saw wrong." Joe says shaking his head. Pretty quickly your phone dings with the responses of your friends.
Peyton:You're fucking kidding me!?
Sasha: HOW?! WHEN?!
"Is that them?" Joe asks and you nod. "They're probably gonna ruin our night here." You say to him and his chuckles. "Tell them we have food." Joe says making you chuckle.
******************* "I came as quickly as I could!" Peyton says walking through the door of Joe's house. "Nice hickey." You mutter seeing a big red purple splotch on his neck and he rolls his eyes. "Hush! Is Sasha here yet?" Peyton says as you close the door. "She's on her way." You shake your head. Joe comes out of the bathroom and says hello to Peyton. "Nice place you have here." Peyton says. "Thanks, make yourself at home." Joe nods. "Oh I will." Peyton says taking his shoes off by the door making you and Joe chuckle.
"If you're hungry Joe ordered a ton of Chinese food, it's in the kitchen." You say to Peyton. "Sure, thanks." he nods. You all make your way to the kitchen and Peyton speaks up. "So, how bad is the Code Law". Peyton says. "Wait, code law?" Joe asks in confusion. "It's something we came up with when Mariana was back on some shit with the lawyer." Peyton says to him and you nod in agreement. "This isn't going to end well is it?" Joe sighs leaning on the kitchen island. "Not at all, but to answer your question Peyton...i'd give it a 6 out of 10." You sigh. "I'm not bailing anyone out of jail, y'all have the money." Peyton saying making you laugh. "Y'all is a lot of people." You scoff. "Wait what? Jail?" Joe asks confused and Peyton chuckles. "He hasn't been around a lot of gay men has he?" Peyton says and you just shrug. "He's just being dramatic and joking, I'm sure no one will go to Jail." You reassure Joe.
The doorbell then rings and Joe goes to answer this time. "Girl this house oh my god, I see why you're ignoring the baby thing!" Peyton snickers at you and shush him. "We're just friends." You roll your eyes. "I would second guess that but we are over here on valentine's day when he should be blowing your back out right about now." Peyton says checking his watch and you slap his arm. "So, what the actual fuck is happening right now? Also thanks for the Code Law, that date was going horrendous. The guy kept talking about landscaping...you literally saved me." Sasha says coming into the kitchen and hugging you guys. "Grab yourself some food and meet us in the living room so we can all talk about this." You tell them both and you and Joe head to the living room. "You guys take this serious." Joe says as you sit on the floor around the coffee table. "We're just a bit traumatized from the last time...Mariana spiraled out of control." You sigh leaning back on the couch.
"Okay so spillllll what is going on!" Sasha says as her and Peyton sit down. "Joe just told me that the other day he was leaving a meeting and when he was walking to his car, he spotted Mariana and she was with Julian and he saw them kiss before he got out of her car." You say and Sasha and Peyton look at each other. "Are we sure it was her?" Sasha asks. "Positive." Joe nods. "Was the guy tall, white, brunette with a beard?" Peyton asks and Joe nods again. "Fuck." Peyton sighs. "Not this shit again...I'm sorry but once might be a mistake this is just her being a cheating bitch." Sasha says and you couldn't argue that. Mariana was your best friend but it sucked seeing her do this to her relationships. "Does anyone else know?" Peyton asks. "I haven't told Ja'Marr if that's what you're asking. I don't know how to bring something like this up to him." Joe says biting his lip looking anxious. "I don't know how I feel about being with friends with a serial cheater and if we go to her and ask.... she's going to deny it." Peyton says and you sigh knowing he was right too. "Guys, I didn't mean to like ruin a friendship here or anything. I just told Y/N what I saw because I couldn't keep it to myself any longer." Joe says seeming worried. "Oh this isn't your fault, you're real for telling us because Mariana definitely wouldn't." Sasha says and you nod agreement.
"We have to figure out a way to obtain concrete evidence and go to Mariana with it. It's the only way, and if she denies it. We go to Ja'Marr. with it" You say looking to Joe who takes a deep breath. "Talk about being at the wrong place, and the wrong time." He says.
*************************************************
Peyton and Sasha left from Joe's pretty late. After trying to brainstorm a plan of finding out more about Mariana's affair, you guys just hung out. You thought it was actually pretty nice, Sasha and Peyton got to know Joe better and it was nice seeing them three get along well after all the drama you and Joe had. "I should probably get going to, I've had a long day." You yawn as you help Joe clean up whatever was left of the food. "Or...you could stay." Joe smirks. A smirk you knew to well at this point. "Joe- Joe nothing...come on. It's almost 1am, you live across town and I don't want you driving tired." He says pulling you towards him. "What happened to just being friends." You say to him and he shrugs. "Friends can still do this." Joe says kissing your neck sending shivers down your spine. You were beginning to hate the effect Joe had on you. Your ability to say no to him had become pathetically non-existent. "So you do this with your homeboys?" You snort and Joe sucks his teeth making you giggle. "Just go upstairs, I'm gonna make sure everything is locked up." Joe says letting you go and you nod grabbing your phone and making your way upstairs. Walking into his room you start thinking about what was going to end up happening between you two, with the baby being born soon and now that Mariana is back on her bullshit. You think about how you maybe should of just cut things off completely when you found out about the possible baby.
Taking your hoodie off and pants, you were left in a cami and underwear. It wasn't like Joe hadn't seen any of it and more before. You throw your clothes on a chair he had in the room and make yourself comfortable on his large bed. "For someone who wanted to leave, you sure made yourself comfortable pretty fast." Joe says coming into the room and shutting the door behind him. "I could always leave, you're the one begging me to stay." You yawn. "Yeah, you'll probably fall asleep half way down the stairs." Joe says and you flick him off. "I'm gonna shower really quick, light or no light?" Joe says going to flick the lights off. "Off please." You say and he shuts the light off. Joe makes his way to the bathroom and leaves the bathroom door ajar. You noticed he always did that, you wondered if he did that for ventilation or in case a burglar came in. Either way you found yourself peeking through from the bed and you get a perfect back view of him as he went to turn the shower on. "That ass tho!" You say loud enough for him to hear and he quickly snaps his neck to the side and gives you a look. "Aren't you supposed to be sleeping?" Joe asks clearly embarrassed. "I was enjoying the show, don't put it on if you don't want anyone peeping." You answer back and you hear him suck his teeth. "Perv." You barely heard him say. "Only for you." You answer back before you see him step into the shower. "Sleep!" He barks back making you giggle.
You doze off for a bit before you felt Joe get into bed and spoon you. His body still warm from the shower. "Friends don't sleep like this." You mutter and he hums. "I could take the couch." he says. "Mkay..."You say and he sighs taking off the comforter making you smile. You grab his arm and pull him to you again. "Stop being dumb. Keep me warm." You say to him. He pulls the cover over you again and feel him kiss your shoulder giving you goosebumps. To you it felt like he was soaking you in which felt nice but also sucked because you both knew this could all soon end.
*****************************************
The next morning you woke up hearing the sink in the bathroom run. You looked at your phone and saw it was 7am. Of course Joe would be up this damn early you thought to yourself. You noticed a message from Mariana that she sent at 4am. You thought why she would sent something late but you remembered she was in Hawaii with Ja'Marr. You open the picture and see it was a picture of a huge ring on her finger and her smiling face behind it with the text that said "I said Yes!!". You freeze for moment in complete shock. "Joe!?" You call out and Joe quickly runs out of the bathroom with his toothbrush in his mouth. "Huh!?" He asks startled by the way you called him. "Look!!" You say jumping out of the bed and handing him your phone. He takes your phone confused and then realization strikes. "She sent you this?!" Joe asks with his toothbrush still in his mouth and you nod. "Hold on." He says going back into the bathroom. He comes out after finishing brushing his teeth. "Did Ja'Marr ever say anything about proposing?" You ask Joe. "We went out after our last game to drink our sorrows away and he might of mentioned something but definitely not for valentines day." Joe shakes his head. "This just got a whole lot messier." You sigh and Joe nods. "Code...wedding?" He grimaced.

I find it so fascinating that I've spent my whole, fat life with doctors slipping diabetes and cholesterol tests into every blood test I've ever had (despite only ever showing perfectly healthy results on those fronts) since I was a teenager. and yet, my skinny friend, who worries that he might be pre-diabetic, cannot get his doctor to sign off on a diabetes blood test. like. hello? when I was a teenager I assumed that every blood test automatically had a diabetes screening on it, because mine always did, and the doctors had never brought it up except to tell me that I didn't have it. but my bud can't even ASK for one? the fucking double standards!!!!!!! it makes me !! violent!!!!!!!

The Big Food industry spent billions teaching you what to think about food. Everything you've been taught about eating is WRONG. Here's 20 tips to educate yourself:
1) The inner aisles of a grocery store are engineered to taste good and keep you coming back for more. They are closer to drugs than REAL food.
2) Eating 5-7x a day is not the way to boost your metabolism but its a great way to create insulin resistance.
3) You don't need more supplements. You need a whole foods diet.
4) There's nothing healthy about fruit drinks. They are liquid sugar IVs. 100% juice is still 100% garbage for your body.
5) Breakfast can be the most important meal of the day but not when your routine is eating 3 bowls of cereal. If you're going to eat breakfast start with hitting 30+ grams of protein to start your day.
6) The food pyramid maximized profits and destroyed people's health.
7) Vegetable oils are closer to industrial waste than they are vegetables. Stick with coconut, avocado, olive, and butter.
8) Terms like natural, heart healthy, and multigrain are marketing terms that have nothing to do with that food improving your health.
9) Heart disease wasn't a serious issue until the past several decades, yet red meat and eggs which have been eaten for thousands of years have become the scapegoat for what processed foods and insulin resistance have done.
10) Calories in, calories out sound great unless your diet is full of empty calories. Nutrient density matters when it comes to hormonal balance, metabolism, and overall health.
11) Low fat is usually just a smoke screen for high sugar, increased triglycerides, insulin resistance, and heart disease.
12) The sun has endless nutritional benefits and comes at zero cost and free of calories.
13) Everything in moderation is illogical. Just because your body can deal with certain foods doesn't mean its good for you.
14) Creatine isn't just for bodybuilders, it's for everyone. It's cheap, safe, and has cognitive benefits in addition to its impact on muscle.
15) You don't need energy drinks. You need a high protein diet and better quality sleep. Something as simple as magnesium before bed can have a huge impact on improving the quality of your sleep.
16) Artificial sweeteners lack sugar but can destroy your gut health.
17) Drinking alcohol because it's good for you in some way is bullshit. It's a toxin. If you want to enjoy it fine but don't use your health to justify it.
18) If it's designed to sit on a shelf for a year it's not food.
19) An exclusively plant based diet lacks essential nutrients. Don't be fooled by products like Beyond Meat which require high levels of processing to create a cheap alternative "food".
20) Cholesterol is the boogeyman you have been told to fear but cholesterol is naturally occurring and dietary intake of cholesterol is not strongly understood or supported by the data to cause heart disease.
P.S. Food companies are enabled by limited regulation to prioritize max profits over consumer health. It's important to be an educated consumer. You are responsible for your own health. Think critically and stick to the basics. If it wasn't eaten 100 years ago it's not worth eating!!

I went to see Strange Darling today. It’s very hot where I live and I don’t have air conditioning, so going to a movie theater was my best option.
In the trailer for the movie, a young woman asks a guy, “Are you a serial killer?”
Where you hear a line like that, you know there’s a twist - most likely she is the serial killer, right?
The movie has received high praise by horrormeister Stephen King. But my local theater chain must not have much faith in it. They don’t screen it in the evenings (probably so they can try and pack more people into seeing of Deadpool & Wolverine).
Willa Fitzgerald plays the young woman. She’s fine in the role, alternating between helpless victim and crazed killer. But after while I just got tired of her schtick over and over. The lead guy was the surprise… he’s Kyle Gallner who I remember him from a recurring role on Smallville years ago. I thought he was good as the too horny guy who thinks with the wrong head.
The movie has lots of violence and blood. There’s an odd scene where Ed Begley Jr and Barbara Hershey play a couple of old hippies who answer their door to the wrong woman in distress. If they hadn’t died in the movie, they would have soon based on the cholesterol laden breakfast they prepare.
There must have been only 10 minutes left of the movie and it became obvious that there would be more and more blood and violence. I decided I didn’t care how it ended… and left the theater.
Despite of what I’ve said, the movie is a good cautionary tale for horny young men… if a woman asks you to handcuff her and choke her, it’s probably a good idea to put your pants back on and leave.

You simply cannot treat fatness as a health condition in and of itself, because no one dies from being fat
How is your heart? Your lungs?
Your blood sugar, pressure, cholesterol?
Are you in pain, do you have mobility issues, do you have trouble completing ADLs?
Fat people are expected to take the long painful way around when a simple asthma screening or blood pressure med would actually fix the problem
