Did you know Anna Hathaway did the first three Audiobooks of The Princess Diaries?

Honestly, I wish she did all of them. BUT I understand Anne got super famous and that was that. At least we get 3 books (and one of the best ones besides book 10 book 3!!!) I had found this out YEARS ago and had bought them immediately! (duh!) Thinking about how Anne is 18 years old reading these books I can't help but think how well she did! REALLY WELL! Clea Lewis takes over the role of Mia's voice the rest of the time she is in high school (book 4-10) While jarring at first because Clea Lewis has a much higher, whiny pitch for Mia and Anne. igl it was hard to get use to at first when listening to them in Clea's voice, but by book 10 I'd come around to liking her voice too. Though they are two different styles, I'm glad that Clea took inspiration from Anne with Grandmere and Mia's dad both having french sounding english accents. In the next book, Royal Wedding, (book 11 and 12) Arielle DeLisle voices Mia and while I wish they just kept Clea (or BROUGHT BACK ANNE! lol never going to happen she's too famous and big now) I understood Mia is in her mid 20s now, she would have a more mature voice than her high school days. (but I honestly think my voice has stayed the same since I graduated high school but whatever I'm just going with it) And then again, maybe Clea couldn't come back due to another engagement. who knows! The only thing that really didn't like about Arielle DeLisle version of Mia's voice is that she had Grandmere as sort of an english accent it is SO JARRING especially since in the last 10 books Grandmere has a thick french accent and now she's Julie Andrews (While I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Julie Andrews and even loved her in the movie.) NO! Grandmere is NOT Julie Andrews!!! PLEASE, NO!!! Who ever produced this audio version and green lit it, I have BEEF WITH YOU!!! Then it even goes FURTHER into "From The Notebooks of a Middle School Princess" Kathleen McInerney, while did a great job as Olivia, also failed to give Grandmere and her dad an accent. I just like consistency, throughout a series. They did an outstanding job building for the first 10 years of the book series, then it was like POOF it's okay, no one's going to listen to those audio books ...... Anyway, I listen to the later Audio versions because if I didn't then How else am I going to pass the time driving in my car? But seriously I love when I read them without it because then Grandmere's and Prince Phillipe's voice is back to normal!

PODCAST: 127 - Conviction

This episode, we’re looking at 2010′s Conviction starring Hilary Swank as Betty Anne Waters, a real life Massachusetts woman who earned a law degree to fight for the innocense of her brother wrongly convicted of murder. With a cast that includes Minnie Driver, Peter Gallagher, and Sam Rockwell as Betty’s jailed brother Kenny, the film received a middling festival reaction and fizzled at the box office before getting buried among Fox Searchlight’s bigger contenders. Though Swank and Rockwell respectively earned SAG and Critics Choice nominations, the film disappeared quickly.

Perhaps Conviction’s biggest stamp on Oscar culture was Swank’s appearance in that year’s formative Hollywood Reporter Actress roundtable. This episode, we unpack what makes that year’s roundtable a high bar for actress obsessives and go deep on the history of the THR Actress Roundtable. We also get into Rockwell’s unfortunate recent typecasting and the brief and impressive performances by Juliette Lewis and Clea Duvall in the film.
