hiiiii & welcome to my melanatedeuph0ria!! for ab a yr or 2 now, i’ve been mainly reading fics on tumblr on characters like rick grimes, spencer reid, toji, etc. (nonblk characters mostly let’s be fr..) and throughout those yrs, i’ve been noticing a complete lack of..

while this IS true, i feel like us as black & poc readers should have the opportunity to read some fanfics that makes us feel SPECIAL & RECOGNIZED, in aspects such as our skin, hair, & realness without it being stereotypical or just having us feel defaulted to a white pov. (also without it being just SMUT cmon y’all)

also, we all know rick grimes luvs some MELANINNNN ‼️🗣️

so, with that being said, i am here to bring justice to my fellow blk readers who needed a lil spice in their reading, so the imagination part could be a bit easier 🫶🏽

SOME of the fics i make will be poc x reader, others will be just x reader & up for interpretation !!

So this is actually the start of a little series I'm doing for Murphy. Im very excited to be doing a series again. I had a lot of fun with my last one and I needed to make another. Anyway let's get this started!

Noisy Neighbors

Summary: Trying to get some sleep for the night, you heard loud music playing from your neighbors apartment. That's the night you met the MacManus brother's.

Pairing: Murphy MacManus x Fem!Reader

Word Count:998

Warnings: [18+], slow burn, complicated feelings, miscommunication, fluff, little bit of angst because why not. drinking, cursing, mentions of drug use, smoking.

Your POV:

It was late at night and you tossed and turned in your bed. Not being able to fall asleep. It didn't matter what you did. You just couldn't seem to get comfortable. Especially the loud music blaring through the walls. Your neighbors had decided to have a party at 2 am.

You sighed, giving up on trying to get a good night's rest. You needed to go over there and complain. You didn't care if they had just moved in recently. Who parties at 2 am on a Tuesday night?! Apparently they do!

You got up sliding on your slippers and comfy robe. To be fair you usually on slept in a over sized t shirt and your underwear. Tying the robe around yourself. You walked out of your apartment and to the next right across the hall. You lifted your hand and pounded on the door three times before crossing your arms in front of yourself.

You where not expecting to see a tall, very attractive guy. With a joint in his mouth to greet you at the door. You where stunned almost, his short shaggy brown hair sticking to his forehead. His defined cheek bones a shade of pink from you assumed drinking. Those captivating blue eyes staring down at you. Oh shit! You had to say something! Not just stand there and stare at the poor guy.

“Hello there las, what's got you poundin on my door?” He asked you with a cheeky smirk on his face. The joint resting perfectly between his lips. You almost forgot why you came over here in the first place until you snapped out of it. “T-The uh music! The music is keeping me awake and I got a big day tomorrow. Could you turn it down?” You stuttered out your words at first feeling very flustered from the stranger in front of you.

He smiled at you and yelled back into the apartment. “Aye! Turn that music down, we're keepin this pretty las awake” He shouted before turning back to you and closing the door behind him. Did he just call you pretty?

“Oh I'm really sorry about that las, didn't mean to keep ya from your beauty sleep” He said to you as he leaned against the doorway. Reaching up to take the joint out of his mouth. He exhaled, making sure to not blow the smoke in your face. Being polite. You smiled softly, “It's okay, just maybe play something better next time” You teased your neighbor, hearing a soft chuckle come from him.

“My brothers taste, not mine” He confessed. He then offered you the joint in between his two fingers. You didn't smoke much but what the hell. You needed a little pick me up. You gently took the joint and inhaled slowly at first. You felt your lungs burn just a little. You pulled the joint away from your lips and exhaled passing it back to him. “So your my new neighbor, what's got you living in this dump?” You asked with a smile. You where curious about him.

He took the joint from you and inhaled again. “Ah, my brother and I, needed a new place to stay. Last place was worse honestly. Names Murphy, Connors my brother” He said as he exhaled and flicked the ashe off the joint before tucking it behind his ear. He turned towards you more. He slouched a little still leaning up against the door frame.

“What's your name las?” He asked you with that adorable yet handsome smile. Oh you where a goner. Barely known your neighbor for ten minutes and you wanted to know more about him. “It's (Y/N), Nice to meet you Murphy” You said to Murphy, putting your hand out to shake his hand.

Murphy smiled and gently took your hand, lifting it up to his lips placing a kiss. Instead of shaking it. You felt your heart flutter, “Nice to meet ya too (Y/N)” Murphy responded as you slowly took your hand away. You felt a light buzz all over your body. Feeling yourself become more flustered by him.

Okay, yeah it was time to head home before he asked you to join the party. You would have loved too but your interview for a journalist job was tomorrow morning. “I should get back to my apartment” You said bashfully, fiddling with your finger tips. “Oh, alright las, than I'll see you around?” Murphy said to you with innocent smile on his face. He was so adorable. So clueless and sweet. “Yeah, yeah I'll see you tomorrow” You responded back, waving good bye to him.

He waved back to you and walked back into his apartment. You then turned around and rushed inside your own. Oh you felt so flustered and almost embarrassed. Looking down seeing the outfit your where in. Sighing softly, you made your way into your bedroom. Slipping off your slippers and hanging up your robe.

How embarrassing, you thought to yourself. Tomorrow would be better. New job interview, and you get to see him again. Definitely wearing a better outfit. Climbing into bed, you laid down on your back. Rubbing your hands against your face. Time to get some rest and see how tomorrow goes…

Is Connor Hawke a freakin metahuman or not

(I know he becomes a metahuman during ga/bc but that’s not what I’m talking about)

In 2002 there was a book titled JLA: Ultimate Guide to the Justice League of America, published by DK Publishing with a “From the Archives of DC Comics” stamp on the front. It says, and I quote, “Years studying hand to hand fighting at the ashram have honed Connor into an unparalleled opponent whose metagene enables him to have phenomenal ‘physical memory.’ Once he has witnessed a move, Connor can instantly adapt it to his own growing repertoire of martial arts disciplines.” I have NO clue where they got that info

In Robin #79 written by Chuck Dixon in 2000, Connor fights a demon but gets knocked out. Tim Drake thinks to himself that Connor is “a major league meta-human all star.” Chuck wrote that! At that point he had written more Connor content than any other writer!

In 2002’s Green Arrow #14, after Connor gets shot by Onomatopoeia, a news anchor says ““…but sources tell us that as he’s not a meta human…”

Does he have a frickin meta gene or not lol
