Okay but Bubbles giving a modified and surprisingly violent version of the shovel talk to Douglass after Crosby gets assigned to the Blakely crew like “I swear, Doug, if anything happens to him I will shove my snow-globe so far down your throat, I will feed your balls to the dog, I will tear you limb from limb and toss you out the bomb bay doors over the channel”

And Douglass is totally unfazed because he’s known Bubbles has been in love with Crosby for a very long so he’s just like “noted”

Pretty quick after he starts flying with Crosby Douglass starts to get suspicious, so he goes to Ham because he’d flown with Croz for longer than Doug has and yep, he is also hopelessly in love with his best friend

So of course Douglass knows he’s gotta play matchmaker because all of their soft smiles and longing looks and pining is actually driving him insane come to find out they’ve literally been in a relationship for a while but somehow still have massive crushes on each other

they are childhood bestfriends, of course. totally and definitely inseperable.

there was at least one time croz sobbed because they couldn't stay close to each other because bubbles was sick, and at least one time bubbles rushed to the school's medical room with red, tears-swelled eyes and a pouty face because croz almost passed out

and around the third time croz saw that expression, he noticed and realized how cute it looked on bubbles.

he didn't think much about it because bubbles is, in fact, very adorable and was always cute in his eyes.

he realized he was in love with his best (and only) friend when they turned 12.

bubbles, on the other hand, is completely clueless that he likes croz as well.

croz tried to flirt. poor attempt, but he tried, and bubbles laughed it off everytime. of course it hurted croz but he kept on trying, he's not loosing his crush and his bestest friend.

luckily bubbles realized his feelings for croz were not just in a friendly kind of way. not when he gets butterflies in his stomach whenever he sees croz smiles because of him and tries to flirt.

uhm, cheesy ass thingy but they decided to confesss on the same day when they are in 11th grade.

croz probably blushed more and started to stutter and bubbles just chuckled.
