i know in OBT, damini is clearly the worse parent because she didn't even attempt to raise dielle and clearly sees her as a failure, and she wouldn't have been a good parent even if she stayed.... but damn it, the deviantart comments are so annoying about mateo that i'm this close to stanning her anyways. very epic of her to subvert gender roles by being the deadbeat dad. hashtag feminist icon.

the village was quiet for the most part. only the sound of the stream pushing over stones and the occasional distant voice reached hajinda's ears as she watched the stars shimmer above her. geunmi was late tonight, or perhaps she wasn't able to meet the young vampire for whichever reason. it wouldn't be the first time and she certainly wouldn't blame the other girl. it was dangerous enough for them to meet even under the cover of night. when the rustle of clothing drew near, she whipped around with glittering eyes and a hopeful smile. oh. him. quickly, the expression dropped. " must you bother me still ?? " she hissed, gathering her dress and making to leave. it was the hand steadying her face that hajinda didn't expect. worry etched in her eyes, the girl stiffened out of instinct. despite their parents connections, she'd never been fond of the other. he was too haughty for her likings. too proper. of course when the news of their betrothal came from him of all people, hajinda turned ashen. whatever colour stained her already pale features drained in an instant. if the gesture was meant to be comforting or kind, it didn't translate at all. she felt suddenly like a cornered animal, hackles raised and tail between her legs. " this cannot be true ... " hajinda breathed. thoughts of her secret lover raced through her mind. what would she tell geunmi ?? after all this time, all this illusion of freedom within her grasp ... it was gone just like that. hurt, confused, afraid, she backed away from his touch slowly. " i will not marry you. i cannot i- " tears were threatening to fall now. her parents, the ones meant to protect her above all, would betray her like this ?? " i will never love you. i will never accept you. mark my words, christian. i would sooner lay in the sunlight than spend my days at your side. " the girl spat her words, a final resistance before she fled the scene.

Thank you so much! my way of character design is unusual i guess? maybe? so if you really want my tip or how i go about it ... i dont think about gender, i am agender myself and i just cant help but find it to be a very strange concept in the way its usually stuffed into boxes, so i go about designing characters in a similar way, as in-

i just design a character and decide whatever pronoun i want them to have afterwards, i rarely actively think about what gender they are while im drawing them, as a rough basis i always use the typical "male" structure bc, and this is my specific opinion, most art tutorials divide "male" and "female" body structure in such bizarre ways, like they are different species and not all human that can be all sorts of shapes and sizes, its much easier to come up with variations of the 'basis' if you have one basis and not two you constantly have to think about

(at least to me its only been limiting when i was worried about making a characters structure look too 'female' and vice versa, instead of making it look what i found cool and appealing at that time)

i dont stick to it that much either bc when you mostly draw monster characters it matters even less; i know i have a type of design i tend to gravitate towards too, i like broad structures a good amount of fat and also beards; for not fully human characters i also fall alot into the big ass forearms design bc its what i like

my advice tends to suck and say nothing but maybe it helped seeing my perspective? qwq

—she didn't mean anything by the comment,  really.  merely an imitation of their talks in museum visits,  how he would detail the history and value of the artwork.  she thought he'd have a similar appreciation for such exposition even in a different context,  doing so the second she took notice of the mistletoe hanging overhead,  but could she have been mistaken ... ?

seems like it.  the answer is plain to see,  obviously felt,  when the turn of his body away from her is enough to send chocolate locks flying from the sheer force of it.  hakuno could only blink in response,  eyes widening slightly as he blasts off  ( rather than art,  shouldn't he be in track ... )  and though  she doesn't chase after him,  fingertips press against stiff lips,  bringing the hand flat to then blow at that area.  a blown kiss  ——  because,  had he stayed a little longer,  he would've reached the part where popular belief has it that bad luck would come to those who refused a kiss under a mistletoe. 

she has no strong beliefs in superstitions,  but he hadn't been able to give her his thoughts on the matter,  so ...  better safe than sorry ?   may this give him some peace of mind if he believes in that tradition ...   she'd have to apologise for blowing a kiss at him without his consent,  though.  right ...  niwa is at that tender age where just hearing the k - word is enough to make one's heart go doki doki.  she doesn't understand it,  never having felt such emotions,  but it is amusing to see.       ❛   ah,  youth ...   ❜
