Hello! Which character do you think it is that’s revealing themselves/appearing in the finale? I think Rollin Jones said a (known?) character would appear right? I keep thinking that it might be whoever David Costabile is playing. EB revealed during a panel that he filmed a scene with him, and he’s been described as a TV person Molloy has a ‘run-in’ with. So not a friend or anything.

Could Costabile be Marius in disguise? I know it’s been stated he plays a ‘seasoned TV personality’ called Leonard, but that could be a red herring/false name. Or - as I’ve come to understood that Marius is basically a creep/groomer (as well as an old vampire) could he be hiding in plain sight? Living as a seemingly normal, nice and well-loved, TV personality while he is actually using and abusing his position to acquire young people/blood? I feel gross even speculating about it, but reading TV personality and knowing that David Costabile (great actor) often plays charismatic, creepy and scheming guys I couldn’t help but think that maybe he plays a kind of celebrity predator vampiric villain? What do you think? Thanks!

Could be. I mean, I've obviously seen him before, but... I wouldn't have put him up for Marius, tbh.

Marius is many things, that's for sure, and so it would take an actor with... experience to pull him off.

But I seriously doubt he would live in the open, not in modern times.

I... doubt this show will make Marius one-dimensional. They will not go that easy on the fandom *laughs* And as such he will not be a "celebrity predator vampiric villain", imho.

We'll see.

But careful with the judgement re blood/young people... Armand canonically holds himself a snack-on-boy... and what do you think the "farm" is? In the later books they have dungeons full of people to conveniently snack on, too. And yes, Louis approves...

So. Careful with the morality judgement. These vampires will bitterly disappoint you there, even if the show might make certain (social commentary) statements.

Conor Sherry and Gabriel LaBelle star as slightly douchey best friends in early-'90s Nebraska City coming up with petty schemes to make money, drink beer, avoid trouble, and impress girls. On the surface, the typical teen summer movie shenanigans seem lightweight but reveal more emotional complexities to the immature characters slyly through adolescent adventures hanging out at the public pool. It's a good time to side-steps the usual perils of the less evolved era its set in.

I know we all want Michael McKean to finish that ABBA song but can we appreciate David Costabile for giving us full Gale karaoke experience? I just think it deserves to be scared and loved for how quirky and funny and yet heartbreaking it is ok thank you.

Nebraska City, 1991, two best friends get the chance to run the swimming pool snack shack, that later comes to be the perfect scenario for transgression, fun, personal discovery and romance.

Familiar plot elements but especially the first two thirds are fast paced and much funnier than expected without being too nasty.

There's a bit much (unexpected) drama towards the end. But overall it's a fun but harmless comedy.
