Before I started working in radio, I had a belief: that in this world, no matter what it is, talking alone is useless. It's only when you take action that it matters. It's true, there's no need to talk about love; just do it. Don't talk to me about love; do it (make love)!
So, when you see some people who are deeply passionate about gambling on horses, they're the ones truly 'doing' it (meaning they might be involved in cheating or dishonest practices). Some people love this world to the extreme. They are, in a way, 'doing' the world (meaning they might engage in criminal activities).

41. A Guilty Conscience; movie review
A GUILTY CONSCIENCE Cert 15 133 mins BBFC advice: Contains strong bloody images, domestic abuse, suicide references Oh, this was an unexpected cracker. A Guilty Conscience is a twisting Hong Kong courtroom drama which has the audience guessing until its final moments. At its centre is a riveting performance by Dayo Wong as a cynical lawyer who is marking time before retirement. He goes…

So...this is going to be really hard to explain, but I find that Cheng Yi lowkey reminds me of Dayo Wong.
Dayo Wong is a HK stand-up comedian, and I first watched him in You’re Hired, a 2009 TVB comedy drama, back when I was in high school, and my teenage self found him to be really charming and also quite handsome, despite him not being known for his looks in HK.
And when I first saw Cheng Yi in Love and Redemption, my first thought was that his eyes and jawline reminded me of Dayo Wong’s.
I feel like you can’t really see the resemblance in pictures, and it’s hard to justify my point just through images alone lol, but I just feel that they exude a similar vibe, despite Cheng Yi often acting very reserved and restrained roles, while Dayo Wong plays very talkative and sarcastic characters.
But then seeing how chaotic Cheng Yi is in BTS footage of his dramas just further heightens the similar vibes between them. Cheng Yi is quite the loud and witty comedian himself.
I also lowkey feel that Yang Zi reminds me of Charmaine Sheh. They both have huge round eyes, very dainty lips, and high-pitched, squeaky voices. Both are also very outgoing and are known to get along well with their male co-stars. Also, both are known to be very serious about acting.
Coincidentally, Dayo Wong and Charmaine Sheh were both in You’re Hired.
I feel like you won’t know what I’m talking about unless you watch TVB dramas, but I just need to get this off my chest. Like how I made a previous post about how I find Chen Xiao to vaguely remind me of Leslie Cheung.

Hi there! Would you possibly have some alternate fc for Donnie Yen? The one gif pack I've been able to find of him is kind of limiting. Thank you for your time :) :)
Daniel Wu (1974) Hongkonger - there's a gif pack and icons out there and I know some resources makers who have him on their to-do lists! @katherine-mcnamara said if you'd to see their WIP pages so far please sling them a message!
Sadly not a lot of Hongkongers have resources, here are some notable people with no resources at the time of posting but have such a wealth of roles that would be good suggestions for resources makers!
Kenny Bee (1953) Hongkonger.
Chow Yun Fat (1955) Hongkonger - fave!
Simon Yam (1955) Hongkonger.
Ray Lui (1956) Hongkonger.
Michael Miu (1958) Hongkonger.
Dayo Wong (1960) Hongkonger.
Jimmy Au (1961) Hongkonger.
Andy Lau (1961) Hongkonger - fave!
Francis Ng (1961) Hongkonger.
Anthony Wong (1961) Hongkonger.
Ram Chiang (1961) Hongkonger.
Tony Leung (1962) Hongkonger - fave - he's on a few resources masterlists to-do lists too!
Eddie Cheung (1963) Hongkonger.
Kenny Wong (1963) Hongkonger.
Chin Siu Ho (1963) Hongkonger.
Gardner Tse (1963) Hongkonger.
Roger Kwok (1964) Hongkonger.
Wayne Lai (1964) Hongkonger.

apparently they’re making a movie version of “to catch the uncatchable” which is literally my life’s drama... It’s a 2004 hong kong drama I’ve seen since I was 9, and as exciting as I should sound dayo wong is the director. he is infamous for having the most god awful movies, but he’s surprisingly always in good dramas. he really needs to step back and just be an ACTOR or a comedian because his own self directed movies are actual horse piss they’re so bad... I’ve liked dayo for a solid 15 years but he should reevaluate what he’s good at. come on man you should know by now, you’re like 60.

"Hello, everyone. It's been quite a few days since we last met. Have you noticed if I've become more handsome? Do you think I resemble Leon Lai (黎明 Dawn)a bit? But of course, I'm a bit more mature than Leon, so some people think I look like dusk."

Can I brag?
Okay y’all. I’m a little shook lately. Why don’t I try to compose a list of all the DJH/DH/DTNG cast members I can think of so far who have acknowledged, talked to, shared, or even just liked broomheadz content!? I am just… so humbled and excited about all the people I’ve interacted with, even in the most subtle way.
Dayo Ade (BLT Thomas)
Irene Courakos (Alexa Pappadopoulos)
Karryn Sheridan (Vicky Friedland)
Colleen Lam (Vivian Wong)
Craig Driscoll (Rick Munro)
Cassie Steele (Manny Santos) [though some people think she has some sort of a bot liking every #degrassi post? not sure how that works]
Rebecca Haines-Saah (Kathleen Mead)
Nicole Stoffman (Stephanie Kaye)
Daniel Kelly (Owen Milligan)
Lyle Lettau (Tristan Milligan) [literally on IG live, he said “Oh hey broomheadz, I’ve noticed you before.”]
Sam Earle (KC Guthrie)
Melissa DiMarco (Daphe Hatzilakos)
Dear Love (Shane Kippel/Spinner Mason’s BAND!)
Cute Whore (Lyle Lettau/Tristan Milligan & Olivia Scriven/Maya Matlin’s BAND!)
That’s all I can think of. Maybe there was even more that I didn’t even notice, who knows? I am just so excited, I never thought this ridiculous tedious obsessive silly journey I began in Oct 2014 would put me in the eyes of some of the people who were actually involved in the show! The internet is a wonderful thing. I know, it’s not like THE Alexa is liking my photos, these characters aren’t real. But the actors devoted so much time and work, and really put a piece of themselves into these characters, so it’s still just as exciting that they stopped by broomheadz on one platform or another. Whew! My heart is all aflutter. Don’t ask me why I’m such a fool for Degrassi, but it sure has been fun! Thank you to everyone!!

Any other TVB dramas you would recommend? I actually just started rewatching some old ones because I think they're a lot better than the recent ones!! Also the actors/actresses were better at acting imo 😂
I definitely think there are some classic hk dramas from the earlier years that were very funny and loved. some that come to mind are any dramas that dayo wong has been in so war of the genders (2000), to catch the uncatchable (2004), you’re hired (2009) and my bounty lady (2013) are my favorites. In the recent years I would say these are my favorites...
death by zero
brutally young
the learning curve of a warlord (💛)
barrack o’karma (💛💛💛)
wonder woman
watch out boss (💛)
daddy cool
my unfair lady (💛)
legal mavericks
a fist within four walls
house of spirits
law dis-order
dead wrong (the first couple episodes are really good and I love roger kwok so bad)
gloves come off
I’ve honestly seen or at least heard of every hk drama ever produced just because that’s all we watch during dinner, so these are some of my favorites as of this decade that I can remember. since hong kong comes out with a new drama every month they’ll generally cast good actors in good dramas. so I enjoy really anything with wayne lai, roger kwok and joel chan. every so often, bigger names who don’t frequent dramas anymore like bobby au-yeung, alex fong, dicky cheung, miriam yeung, jessica hsuan, tavia yeung and SOMETIMES eddie cheung are usually in dramas with better scripts and stories. I watch a lot of their dramas!

Agent Mr. Chan
Dayo Wong stars as top agent Mr. Chan, who suddenly finds himself removed from duties after his partner Wonder Child unintentionally offended a policewoman, Ms. Shek. But when a financial officer goes crazy due to drugs, Mr. Chan is called back in to solve the case, which he accepts even though this means partnering up with Ms. Shek. The two have some ups and downs while working together,…
