Queen Alicent

I'm following the tv show's lead by skipping over quite a bit. One of the biggest critiques my friend and I have discussed about the show is how much of the first season is chopped up by huge time-skips. We start at the beginning, then it's three years later, then it's ten years later, then it's six... all in 10 episodes. Characters and plot lines fade back and forth as we watch two days of their lives every half-decade so season 2 has context as to why everyone hates each other. There isn't an easy 'fix' for this story problem but it doesn't necessarily make for the best viewing experience.

Which is the really long way around way of saying we are in the beginning of the end of S1 with my redesigns. Alicent has been Queen for many years, her children are theoretically older teens... but the actors of her children are in their mid-twenties so it looks comical. She has also leaned further and further into the Faith of the Seven as the years go on so I made sure to include a number of seven-pointed stars. I'm also going to attribute the veil as an accessory to the Faith of the Seven because of the costume design for the Septas (basically nuns in GoT world if you are unfamiliar and along for the ride B) ).

Betting Piece

Hi everyone! Recently I had the chance to work on an illustration that will be the cover art for a poem collection called “Pluto” written by Frankie Sims.

Working on this piece was both fun and challenging due to a tight deadline and an abundance of ideas to choose from (and I’m a really indecisive person! 😆) Although the author knew what emotions they would like to portray through the cover illustration, I was given the artistic freedom to come up with my own suggestions for how it could be translated into art. Many sketches and drafts later we ended up with the picture that you can see above! ☺️🫶

I had the chance to already read a few poems that will be included in this collection and I’m looking forward to reading them all once “Pluto” is published. Please check out Frankie’s instagram account for more details and updates on the book! 👇
