Doris Day (Calamity Jane, Pillow Talk, The Man Who Knew Too Much)— God. Maybe because I'm a butch lesbian and Calamity Jane was the first time I remember seeing a clearly masculine woman on screen, but I just grew up with an enormous crush on her. It's partially her gorgeous disney princess singing voice, coupled with her incredible sense of humor. I love funny women and she is so funny, she oscillates between grace, elegance, and glamour and almost cartoonish physical gags without missing a beat. She can do it all. Plus HER FACE! Her million watt smile! Her spunky body language and knockout legs!
Anouk Aimée (La Dolce Vita, Lola)—no propaganda submitted
This is round 1 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.

Anouk Aimée:
Doris Day:
Her smile?????? Her arms?????? Her presence????????? HER SMILE??????????? I've been in love with her as long as I can remember she's drop dead gorgeous and everything I want to be (on top of)
She was engaged in HIV/AIDS awareness and contributed financially to support programs as well as helping organise fundraising events
I think she has such a wholesome image that she'll lose immediately but I cannot rest if she's not at least represented! She's so pretty and charming and I love her singing.

I am so confused by the fact doris day is losing. It's DORIS DAY. Not only is she gorgeous with an equally beautiful singing voice but her and Allyn Ann McLerie in Calamity Jane are the definition of gals being pals ;)
