A commission for TheShaggyHobo I had an incredible amount of fun with this, thanks so much for commissioning me (: Stormchasers revere wind and storms. They view speech and song as divine wind, and a holy art. Legends, stories, and prayers are spoke-sung as the wind howls, thunder rolls in the distance, and the humid, ozone-soaked air hugs the drek like a blanket.

Concept art for a new unit in the Air Force, part of the Helium Balloon Stealth Aeriel Division. Overall, the unit was successful, but often times the stealth was negated by horrendous screeching and yo mama jokes.

Rune Keeper extract:

As Nora’s words cut deep, Ásta’s thoughts turned to Hosvir. Sweet and gentle Hosvir who had asked for her hand last summer. She could see him now as he had been the last time she’d seen him. Large, burly. His sand coloured hair falling into his eyes, which in turn were furrowed. When they were younger Ásta had shown no hesitation in reaching out and smoothing the lines away. But now, she feared that simple touch would cause his heart more pain than her rejection already had.

She cared for Hosvir a great deal. He was sweet, with a wit that was often lost on the people of Drekir but was never used to wound. When she closed her eyes she could even imagine a life where she’d said yes. She would have moved out of the tower and into his home, with his younger siblings scurrying about her feet. Every morning she would wake to a new bouquet of wild flowers that he’d picked in the early hours of the morning, and a kiss.

Never again would she be lonely, unwanted, or unloved. It would have been a happy life. But it was not the one her heart sang for, and she loved herself far too much to ever settle for less.

In the end, it was that thought that gave Ásta the courage to turn her back and walk towards the waves.
