I was initially thinking tiergan as vander but the more I think about it the more I like tiergan as silco? like he was also betrayed by alden but instead of the betrayal being alden trying to kill tiergan, it would be him killing/exiling prentice. and then tiergan would spend the next however many years plotting revenge against alden, killing him, and adopting his kid(s).
