So Kalyba fumbled Ead in TPOTOT, fumbled Tunuva in ADOFN, and Samathan Shannon has both another prequel and a sequel planned for the series. Odds are Kalyba will fumble Galian Berethnet in the prequel. For the sequel, she's technically dead, but I believe in her failwoman energy. I believe she's capable of fumbling a baddie from beyond the grave.

So if Ead is a direct descendant from Esbar... There have got to be a few physical similarities, just a few. I wonder how Kalyba felt when she saw Ead walking into her area. Like, "hey...I remember your great-something-mother.."

As I said, in my headcanon Sabran commissioned a pair of portraits before Ead left and here it is (you can check Sabran’s here). Ead is holding a sabran flower (I sort imagined it as a purple hibiscus) and hawthorn flowers.

In theory, Kalyba should find it easy to hook up with someone. She’s a beautiful, immortal, powerful witch. Plenty of people would go for that! But she’s exclusively attracted to people who don’t want her back.

So important of Samantha Shannon to invent this sexy evil witch and then say “also, she’s a bit pathetic”. So important.

I adored this book and this scene lives forever in my mind. I also head cannon Ead to be utterly ripped, what of it?!

This is my first time ever using colour or drawing this style, and well, what a rollercoaster of emotions that was!

I also think I may have inadvertently made Sabran’s features oddly familiar, having drawn another dark haired, green eyed someone too many times…
