can u do stalker!abby x reader? im obsessed with those stories but almost no stalker abby stories available :((((
Tumblr media
On Her Watch
stalker!abby x reader
Warnings: Dark romance, m@sturbation
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You meet Abby Anderson before you realize you’ve met her.
It’s fleeting. You’re leaving the biology building one rainy afternoon, juggling an umbrella, your earbuds, and a coffee that keeps threatening to tip out of its lid. She’s sitting under the overhang near the bike racks, hood up, dark eyes barely visible. You glance at her—something about her size, her stillness, the way she doesn’t fidget like everyone else in the cold. She doesn’t look away when you catch her staring.
Just a moment.
And then you’re gone.
You forget. She doesn’t.
Abby never intended to follow you. Not at first.
She notices you before that moment in the rain. Weeks earlier, actually—when you’d bumped into her in the hallway between classes, shoulder to shoulder. You’d apologized with a quick, sheepish smile, already late to a study group. She hadn’t said anything. Just watched you disappear into a sea of students.
She remembered your perfume. Clean. Soft. She caught it again, by accident, the next week near the rec center—only this time she followed the scent, just to see if it was you. It was.
It starts small.
She times her runs around your class schedule. Makes excuses to study in the same libraries. Notices your friends. Watches you walk from the dorms to the gym at night in too-thin shorts and a hoodie, humming to yourself. Watches you tie your hair up when you think no one is looking.
She starts building a map in her head: where you go, who you’re with, how often you check your phone, how your face changes when you’re tired or lonely. It’s data. That’s how she rationalizes it. Information. Interest. Curiosity.
But that’s a lie, and she knows it.
She wants to know you. Have you. She wants to unzip your skin and crawl inside, wear you like a feeling.
You meet her again—properly this time—at the gym.
You’re wiping down a machine, out of breath and flushed. She’s standing a few feet away, towel slung around her neck, hair tied up in a bun. You don’t recognize her, not really, though something tugs at your memory.
“You done with this?” she asks, gesturing to the equipment.
You nod, stepping back, your eyes flicking over her briefly.
“Thanks,” she says, and you catch the edge of something in her voice—low, velvety, patient. She holds your gaze a little too long. Not enough to make you uncomfortable. Just… notice.
You do.
That night, she jerks off in her shower to the image of your parted lips, the damp curve of your throat, the way you brushed past her. She hates herself for it. But not enough to stop.
The friendship starts naturally. Or so it seems.
Abby finds ways to insert herself into your orbit—just enough to make you curious. She makes a dry joke in a study lounge one night that makes you laugh so hard you snort. The next time, she shares her coffee. The next, you’re inviting her to walk with you to class.
She’s easy to talk to. Uncannily observant. She remembers things you didn’t expect anyone to notice: how you hate the texture of oranges, how you never take the bus on Tuesdays, how you always wear that one ratty sweatshirt during finals.
You start to depend on her.
You don’t see the way she watches your every move when you’re not looking. How she memorizes the shape of your mouth when you talk, or your passwords when you unlock your phone. How she waits until you’ve left the library to grab the pen you forgot and pocket it.
You think she’s just intense. Kind. Private. A little possessive. You like it.
You don’t know what you’re inviting in.
It builds.
One night, she shows up outside your dorm unexpectedly. Says she was “just passing by.” You believe her. You invite her in.
You sit close on your tiny bed, knees touching. You’re laughing at some meme on her phone, and she’s not laughing at all—just staring at you.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” you ask, a little breathless.
Abby leans in a fraction, voice quiet. “You’re just…hard not to look at.”
Your stomach flips.
It’s not the first time someone’s flirted with you. But this is different. Abby’s attention is like standing in front of a furnace—controlled, focused, burning. Like if she touched you now, you’d melt.
You don’t kiss her that night. But you think about it.
She goes home and fingers herself slow and rough, replaying your laugh in her head like a song she can’t stop humming.
You start finding little things out of place.
Your charger unplugged. Your sweater on the wrong hook. A lipstick you swear you didn’t leave out.
You brush it off. You’re distracted. Studying. Tired.
You never see the way your bedroom window slides back into place, silently, just before dawn.
She loses control the night she sees you on a date.
It’s nothing serious. Just some guy from your ethics class. You’re at a pub, laughing. Abby sees it through the window.
She doesn’t go in. She waits.
Follows you home after. Watches the way you stumble a little in your heels, tug your phone out to text someone. She imagines it’s him. Wonders if you’re going to fuck him.
You’re alone. She watches the light go off. Waits.
She just wants to look.
You’re in bed. Rolled to one side. Your sheets low on your hips.
She presses her hand to the glass. Wants to open it. Wants to crawl in, lie beside you, pull your shirt up and taste the warm skin of your stomach—
But she doesn’t.
Not yet.
Weeks later. After another night of laughter and long walks. You’re a little drunk. She’s not. But she doesn’t stop you.
Your lips are soft. Her hands are iron. You sigh into her mouth like you’ve been holding your breath for weeks.
She kisses you like she’s starving.
You think it’s the beginning of something new.
You don’t realize it’s the beginning of her finally getting what she wants.
The first time you sleep together, it’s raw. Tense.
She doesn’t take her eyes off you. Not once.
She touches you like you’re something fragile and holy—spreads you out on your bed, breath shuddering, mouth worshipful. She whispers things you barely understand, hands gripping your hips so tightly you’ll bruise.
You don’t mind.
You come with her name in your mouth.
She stays the night. Watches you sleep, fingers ghosting over your wrist, your lips. Her need doesn’t quiet. It just shifts. Evolves.
Now that she’s had you, she’ll never let go.
And you have no idea what you’ve let in.

Tumblr media
This is NOT going to end well
The Command deck was crowded, astartes and astra militarum stood circling the flickering holo display hovering over the round center table as serfs and lower ranking soldiers hurried about shouting orders.
You glanced around, taking in the room as you clutched your holodisk in your hands. The dark angels sigil hung along the ships walls on massive gilded banners, fluttering faintly as Marines strode past.
The Command center was raised, an elevated platform accessed by a single walkway that looked down to the pilot deck. Peeking over the railed edge, The room below was fitted with desks and large displays, showing flashing lights and trajectories to unknown planets and pulsing stars.
"And how does this involve you, Oseric?"
You dragged your eyes back to the centre, wincing at the biting voice.
Lion El'johnson stood with his arms folded across his green tabard, emerald eyes flashing as he watched the projected display.
He was furious.
You could see it in the way the muscle in his jaw twitched, in how his pupils thinned as he watched the millitarum officer prattle on about defensive procedure and munition lines.
"My lord I really do believe-"
The room stilled as Lion El'johnson waved his hand, silencing the man.
"Captain Osric, whilst I believe you are a man of... Varying talents, I fail to see how you would draw the conclusion that I value your opinion on this matter"
The officer spluttered as his face turned red.
Lions voice was low, dangerously laced as he continued.
"My Dark Angels were called in to handle this after you failed to bring this rebellion under control. The Command of this battle is no longer yours"
You stood behind the primarch, hands clasped in front of you tugged at a viridian thread teasing itself loose from your dress as an uneasy tension settled over the meeting. Soldiers shuffled their feet, cowing under the Lions presence as his personal guard stepped forward.
"My lord El'johnson I really do think-"
"Now that's the problem. I don't think you do"
He waved a large hand again and an angel stepped forward, clasping an armour hand on the captains shoulder.
"If you had, in fact, stopped to think at any point, my sons and I would not be here wasting our time cleaning up this sorry mess"
You could see Lions jaw clenching behind the cropped hair of his beard as he leant forward, spreading both palms across the table.
"Woman"
You jumped, rushing forwards to stand by the table. His gaze flicked to you, raking along your body before returning to your face and then finally the hololithe.
"Tell our good captain Osric what you found"
With practiced ease you slid your fingers along the data slate, swapping out the projected image for rolls of scrolling data and pics.
"I took it upon myself to look into the dissention and subsequent hostility in section 42.8.c" you flicked again, zooming into an image of a man, stood up on a pile of rubble with his fist held in the air. Beneath his foot, a flag of the imperium aquilla lay torn and bloodied.
"This man is the source of rebellion movements in the sector. If he dies, the unrest will settle very quickly"
"And how long did this information take you to find?"
You shared a large map, indicating frequented spots, travel projections and known acquaintances.
"6 hours, my lord"
Lion peered at the captain, who looked visibly sweaty beneath the stern gaze and the weight of plasteel on his shoulder.
"6 hours"
He pushed off the table, standing upright as he scowled.
"My aide has done more for me in 6 hours than you have done in 6 days"
"But my lord, we didnt-"
"Get him out of my sight"
The dark angel shoved the captain, hassling him over the narrow access bridge and through the hermetic doors.
With a heavy sigh Lion took a seat, musing over the information still displayed above the table. The remaining soldiers stood uncomfortably, waiting for anything.
He remained silent.
You stepped up to the side of the primarch's chair, your hip brushing against the arm rest as you shifted the display to a number of astartes.
"My lord, the captain of the dreadwing has requested men from his unit be deployed. He advised a "Scorched earth approach would render to ash any doubts of the imperial truth"
Lion glanced at you as he traced his finger over his chin in thought before running his hand through his blonde locks.
"Clear the deck"
His voice boomed across the commander centre as men rushed to oblige, no doubt relieved to escape the scrutiny of the first son. His elite guard lingered, red eye lenses whirring as he looked between you and his genesire.
You stepped to the front of his chair and bowed, hugging your slate to your chest to keep from spilling out of the tight laced bodice of your dress.
"I will take my leave, my lord Lion"
"Not you, you stay"
You paused as he spoke, still bent at the waist you listened as his guard clashed a gauntlet against plate armour. The sound of heavy ceramite fading as the command doors sealed with a pressurized hiss.
Rising up slowly, a breath caught in your throat as the lion peered at you. His face unreadable, he frowned slightly before sighing.
"You have done fine work, considering the incompetency we have faced since arrival."
"Thank you, my lord. I only wish to be of service to you"
"hmm"
Your body felt warm under his gaze, a flush creeping up the exposed skin of your chest, up your neck and across your cheeks.
"Such a useful thing. And yet such dissension you have caused, to the hassle of my sons"
"My lord?"
Lion kicked a leg out, lounging backwards in his chair as below the platform, the muted sound of orders echoed faintly.
"My sons have had multiple men punished for calling you "the lions whore"" he tapped the arm of his chair, steely eyes never leaving you as he spoke.
"Obviously this is to save insult to myself, rather than you, but never the less I find myself wondering why this hasn't been nipped in the bud"
Your mouth worked for a moment as you struggled to find the right words, The feint pink blush now burning furiously.
"I assure you my lord, I have never encouraged this lie"
"And yet my sons hear it disseminated freely amongst serfs"
Sighing you rubbed your temples, catching yourself as the lion cocked an eyebrow at the movement.
"My lord, jealousy is unfortunately something I cannot control. I was hand picked to help you and If that's how they want to see it then let them, I'm not ashamed"
Your outburst left you stunned for a moment before you began stammering, dropping your data drive to the tabletop as you waved your hands.
"oh, but that's not to say... I mean I would never assume you would... Not that you couldn't, I would be more than happy to.. but I mean-"
A low deep noise halted you as Lion began to laugh. A deep rumbling chuckle in his throat that lasted only a moment before he fell silent.
"So you pride yourself on being the Lions whore do you?"
"my lord, you know that is not what i-"
A gasp wretched itself from you as he grabbed your forearm and dragged you forward until you leaned over his chair, you face dangerously close to his.
Palms rested against his broad chest, your fingers clenching at the soft fabric of his tunic as he held you.
"What bothers you more, little aide? What they call you? Or the fact that it isn't true?"
His palm found the back of your head, pulling you to meet his lips in a heated kiss. The brush of his beard burned your skin as his mouth moved against yours. his tongue delving into your mouth as you gasped, feeling his hand slide along your waist.
Breathless you broke the kiss, staring stunned at the primarch as he smirked.
"my lord, I really don't think this is-"
He pulled you in for another kiss. hungrier, he moved his lips along your neck as he pulled you fully against him to straddle his lap.
"You said you wanted to be of service" he muttered against your throat, palming the fat of your rear through the iridescent skirt of your dress. "Why not make the name official"
You bit back a groan as he ran his tongue along the pulse point of your neck.
"Someone will see us"
He slid his hand under your dress, trailing his fingers along your thigh before pressing his thumb against your clit.
"It is more likely they will hear you"
He pressed again. A fanged grin spreading across his face as you jerked, moaning softly as he traced circles around the nerves.
The noise of the ships helm faded as you panted in the primarch's lap, feeling his fingers bruising your thigh and his thumb rubbing against your nub.
"This- this isn't appropriate"
"Do you want me to stop?"
You bit back a whine as he stilled, thumb pressed unmoving to your core. Your hips bucked and you ground yourself against him, throwing your arms around his neck as you pushed your hips down into his lap.
"No"
You felt his chest reverb, his teeth finding your throat as he resumed flicking his finger across your clit, a thick digit sliding between the slick and teasing your entrance as he pulled you towards your finish. You couldn't hold back a moan as he slid his finger inside, curling it against your walls his languid strokes finally brought you to finish.
Lion scoffed as he felt you cum. Pulling his finger out he pushed it into your mouth, pupils dilating as you ran your tongue along it with glassy eyes.
"Maybe they were right to call you whore" he mused, gripping your chin. "Was this what you wanted all along? Did you want your primarch to praise you like this for working so diligently?" He pressed his finger to your tongue, watching you gasp for a moment. "Well? Is it?"
'Yes, yes my lord" you garbled, fighting to get the words out past the pad of his finger.
"Good girl"
You cunt clenched at his praise, heat pooling in your gut as he reached between you, unbuckling his trousers to free himself. Your eyes bulged as you eyed his length watching it slap against his stomach as he rugged it free from his trousers, dusty pink tip already leaking as he palmed it slowly.
A quick glance up at him and you reached down, taking him cock between both hands as you slowly pumped the shaft, allowing your thumb to tease his tip, just as he'd teased you. You grinned as you felt him stiffen, his abs tight under his shirt as you slid your hands along him.
Calloused hands clutched the back of your neck as he kissed you, all tongue and teeth like he was trying to devour you with each breathless moment. You continued to work him between your fingers, swallowing his grunts as he twitched.
Pulling away with spit coating your lip, you lifted the soft satin on your dress, bunching it at your hips as you slid your underwear aside and lined him up to your entrance. Lions throaty moan drowning yours as inch by inch you slid down around him, gutteral curses in a language you didn't recognize falling from his lips as he clawed at your hips.
Pain and pleasure blurred and your eyes watered as he stretched you deliciously full. Through tears, you could see Lion staring at the point your body's met, thumb rubbing across your stomach as he watched you take him.
"Look at that" he hummed "You really are made to serve"
Panting like a bitch in heat, you slowly rose yourself up before dropping back down, rolling your hips as you rode him to push his leaking glans against the spot that made you scream. Lions hands helping you bounce as his own hips thrust up to meet you.
Your orgasm came crashing down around you again as he rutted upwards, dragging his thick length across your walls. His palm shot up to smother the wailing sob that escaped your swollen lips as he fucked you through it, relentless as he felt you clench around his cock.
it doesn't matter, you thought they've already heard enough to know the rumours are true.
The lions whore has quite a nice ring to it, you suppose.
You sighed into his hand, tears trickling through his fingers as he thrust, over and over. Low snarls wracking his broad chest beneath your clenched knuckles as he twitched inside you.
'Mmmhmm" you muffled against his palm
He pulled it away for a second scowling like you had interrupted him.
"Inside, I want it inside" you crooned. "Fill me up, Lord Lion.
Lions eyes shot wide and he smothered a snarl, embedding his canines into your shoulder as with a final erratic pump he came, flooding your cunt with hot ropes of cum that leaked around his pulsing shaft and dripped down your thighs. After a moment, you felt his great mass shift beneath you, sliding out of your heat as he tucked himself back into his trousers with a tired groan.
"I guess I am the Lions whore now" you smiled, pulling your dress over your legs and allowing yourself to fall against his chest as you craned you neck to look at him. The coarse hair on his cheeks and chin rubbed your skin and he pressed his lips to your forehead.
Lion opened his mouth to speak, only for the hiss of the airtight door lock to interrupt him.
A astartes, clad in Veridian green and wings atop his helm strode through the door. His visor twisted to look down at you in his gene sires lap and you heard him inhale before turned back to his father.
"Lord El'johnson, the millitarum captain has requested a continuation of the earlier discussion regarding astartes take over."
Lion dragged a palm down his face and patted your hip, gesturing for you to stand. With an aching sigh you slid off his lap and onto your feet, feeling your pants snap back into place as you smoothed the ruffled fabric around your legs. You grimaced slightly, feeling his spend pooling in the gussett.
The Dark angel clashed his fist to his chest and returned to the door, propping it open as the soldier entered sheepishly.
"My lord, forgive the intrusion but I really do think-"
Captain Oseric eyes popped as he scrambled through the door,l to be met with the sight of you breathless and flushed stood next to the lion.
"I think I will take my leave, My lord. Please summon me at your discretion should you require my services"
You dipped into a curtsy, dipping low as you stepped around the trembling captain, flashing a smile at him as you passed.
"Whore" he whispered through gritted teeth.
Before you could respond, the space marine has hoisted the man by the scruff of his neck, dangling him in the air as his other hand twitched towards his bolter.
"The Lady El'Johnson will not be spoken to as such" the astartes hissed, mechanical and wheezing through his breather. "I will kill you where you stand"
Shocked, you glanced between the angel and the primarch. Predatory gaze never leaving you as his son threatened to throttle the captain.
"I will attend you later, you may leave"
Bowing your head, you smiled as Lion El'johnson waved you off, flicking his concentration to Osric, trembling and spluttering as he hung 5 feet off the ground.
"once again I find you wasting my time today Captain. I'm beginning to think we may have a problem."
Sliding out of the door, El'johnsons voice faded as the vacuum sealed the command deck.
Lady El'Johnson definitely sounds better than the lions whore

The Quiet Equation - Part 2
Toto Wolff x You
Brackley was not like Cambridge.
It was quieter here—cleaner, colder. The kind of silence that hummed with machinery and method. The kind that felt like precision. Like control. It fit him. It fit you.
The team welcomed you politely, if not a little warily. A new intern. One of the top minds from Harvard, they’d heard. A special project, Toto had said, though the specifics remained vague. No one asked too many questions. Not when he was the one who brought you in.
You wore your badge like armor. Your smile, even more so.
But late nights at the factory wore down masks faster than you expected.
Especially when he started staying later too.
It started with the project—an exploratory model analyzing driver response to high-stress radio communication, cross-referenced with telemetry and biometric data. Something no one else on the team had had the time or audacity to attempt. But you did. You saw patterns no one else saw.
And he saw you.
Every evening, he’d check in—not hovering, not interfering. Just… there. His presence calm and centering, like gravity with a Viennese accent.
“You haven’t eaten,” he’d say, standing in your doorway with two mugs of tea, one always perfectly made the way you liked it. “Come. Five minutes.”
You would protest. He would wait. He always did. And eventually, he’d win. He always did that too.
One night, after a particularly long meeting with the strategy department, he appeared at your workstation just as you were rubbing your eyes and pulling your sweater tighter around your shoulders.
“You’re cold,” he said softly.
“I’m fine.”
He didn’t reply. Just turned and walked away.
Ten minutes later, he returned with a soft fleece-lined team jacket, still smelling faintly of him. He draped it over your shoulders without a word, fingers grazing your collarbone with an intimacy that felt almost accidental—but wasn’t.
You looked up at him.
His gaze didn’t waver.
.
You weren’t together.
Not really.
You shared tea and shared silences. He would leave post-it notes on your keyboard with one-word compliments scrawled in a sharp, slanted hand—“elegant,” “ruthless,” “brilliant.” You never responded to them, but you never threw them away either.
Somehow, the space between you kept shrinking.
You learned his tells—when he was frustrated, he’d tap the edge of his glasses on his knee. When he was pleased, he’d say your name softly, like it was something rare. A gemstone turned over in his palm.
And one night, when you both stayed well past midnight, the factory nearly dark, the sky outside bruised with summer storm clouds—you told him the truth.
“I’ve never been like this with anyone.”
He looked up from his laptop, eyes unreadable.
“Like what?” he asked.
You exhaled, fingers tightening around the tea he’d made you. “Soft.”
He was quiet for a moment. Then he reached across the table, slowly, deliberately, and placed his hand over yours.
His voice was barely above a whisper. “Neither have I.”
You never kissed in the factory.
But there were moments that tasted like it. His thumb brushing your wrist before a meeting. The way you’d stand a little too close at the coffee machine. The stolen looks that lingered across crowded rooms.
He kept his distance, but never too much. Never enough to forget he was watching.
And you? You stopped pretending not to love it.
.
By August, the project was complete.
The model was adopted for the next race strategy trial, and James had taken you aside to say you were dangerously clever. You thanked him and smiled like it didn’t mean everything.
Your last day came quietly. No farewell party, no big announcement. Just a final debrief in Toto’s office, where the blinds were drawn and the sun fell in soft golden stripes across the floor.
He stood when you entered. He always did. Old-world manners, like he hadn’t unlearned how to be gentle with valuable things.
“I should go,” you said after handing him the final files.
He stepped closer.
“You can stay,” he said simply. No pressure. No demand. Just… hope.
You looked up at him, heart thudding beneath your ribs like it might break loose.
“You’re twice my age,” you whispered. The fear still lived there. In the logic. In the math that never lied.
His eyes softened. “And yet, I’ve never met anyone who understands me better.”
Then, for the first time—finally—his fingers touched your cheek, trailing down to your jaw.
And when he kissed you, it wasn’t rushed.
It was reverent.
Like he had waited for exactly the right moment to show you just how long he’d been feeling it.
In that kiss, there was no classroom.
No power differential. No whispers. Just the two of you. Two minds. Two hearts. Brilliant. Lonely. Unmistakably entangled.

In commemoration of the recent bomber drone hit on Chornobyl  reactor sarcophagus, I absolutely had to do a thing. The GDF ask Scott to step out of his comfort zone and are shady, undeclared wars loom treacherous and deadly amid Global Peace, Jeff is dealing with memories worse than I expected. The Radioactive Trio are my bosom darlings, so maybe there will be a Part 2.
Always hugs and thanks to @janetm74 for talking all the wayward ideas through with me.
DÉJÀ VU
His father's face was somber and taut in the bluish hues of the wrist com - a rare occurrence after his return to them. That alone made Scott speed up the jog back to the villa.
It wasn't unusual for Dad to be up early lately, to see Gordon off to his first swim of the day and to catch Scott back from the morning run. They'd share a coffee (decaf for Dad), a chat about orders of business for the day, maintenance or training plans, and a centering, tentative sense of normalcy that had just ever entered their routine on the island before Zero-X ripped Dad away from them for years. Things weren't the same - Scott was the one with more information now and a decisive vote on the agenda of their family, but it was a start. For the first time in almost a decade Scott felt like the day ahead wasn't about to swallow him whole, like he could share at least some of the burden without apprehension or guilt. Almost without, that is.
The pit of unease and worry was growing in his stomach now. Dad would never have called him through the run without good reason. At first Scott panicked it was Dad's health, still very far from pre Oort Cloud bottomline, but the monitor and Eos would have alerted him sooner. Dad's face was inscrutable, his words clipped and dry. He needed Scott in the study ASAP, not the lounge, for some reason, so Scott accelerated up the rocky path back to the villa. Shower was obviously not an option, although he was sweating buckets. Years of growing up in Jeff Tracy's household, however, made him pause a second in front of the door, wipe the sweat away with the hem of his old Yale t-shirt and attempt to comb fingers through the hair, damp and curling in spikes every which way. Not that it helped much.
The study, which first Jeff, and then Scott favored for important conference calls and other business matters that couldn't withstand the bustle and hustle of the lounge and other communal areas, was now dominated by a hologram of Colonel Casey. Dad's face was positively grim as Jeff stood up to greet him. The maw of anxiety was by then snapping with teeth of steel in his gut.
Dad clasped a hand over his shoulder, a brief but welcome comfort, as he steered Scott to take his place at the desk. Scott nodded in a brief greeting as his father repositioned himself with an effort in the armchair by the wall, suddenly looking older than he usually did in the mornings. It didn't help that Aunt Val's face was serious, edges of her face hard and sharp.
"Colonel Casey."
"Scott! I need to request your help."
"Sure, what's the situation?"
He glanced across the room at Dad in mild bewilderment, as typically the GDF would not hesitate to forward initial data and rescue specs to John up in Five. The need to know was beginning to unnerve him.
"There's been a localized breach in the dome of the outer protective sarcophagus over the fourth reactor of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant."
That was... not good, by any yardstick. The abandoned and sealed reactor had been a radioactive hotzone for almost eighty years by then.
Colonel Casey droned on, as if reading off a script.
"The repairs require high altitude certified responders with experience in contaminated areas."
Yep, that sounded like a job description for him, alright. Fly in One, seal the dome up top, submit radiation readings from the patch for inspection, fly back. If he left now, he'd be home on the island in time for breakfast. Worst case scenario, he'd have to wait around for Virgil in Two to help with putting out the fire. The hardest part would be to wake Virg up this early. He glanced up with a ready smile, but Colonel Casey wasn't meeting his eyes. His father was sitting ramrod straight and still, hands gripping the cane.
"There's something else, Scott."
There always was! He gave the Colonel room to continue with an expectant silence.
"I know you made your stance very clear on NOT deploying International Rescue as law enforcement and I respect that."
For some reason it felt like Casey was addressing his father more so than himself.
"But under the circumstances, I have to request that you assisted the GDF investigation on site".
The pit in his stomach grew wider.
"Under the the circumstances?"
Colonel Casey paused, as if weighing her options one last time. Jeff's death grip on the cane turned his knuckles white and skeletal.
"We have reasons to believe the breach didn't occur by natural causes... or a local sabotage."
He was about five when the Big War erupted the first time. He'd been to a warzone since then - memories he'd rather not touch willingly. He knew the dill. If it wasn't wear and tear, or a disgruntled extremist with a dynamite pack... it was...
"We suspect the dome was damaged due to a collision with a high velocity unguided aircraft."
A drone. To breach the layers of concrete, designed to contain radiation for centuries to come, the drone had to carry a hefty payload. To direct a bomber drone at the one object under protection of the Global Peace Treaty for the exact purpose of avoiding a continent-wide nuclear catastrophe meant one thing. A war.
Scott squeezed his eyes shut against a rapid onset of a headache and a creeping panic. He caught a glimpse of Dad doing the same in his chair. Five rhythmic breaths later - one for each brother and Dad - he ventured to face Colonel Casey again.
"How can I assist the GDF investigation, Colonel?"
Surprisingly, Aunt Val's face softened in a shadow of a smile.
"I need you to oversee our investigators and be a liaison between the GDF team and the local authorities and rescue services."
"Liaison?"
"Translator, Scott. You speak astronaut Russian and..."
Colonel Casey paused, but it was his godmother Val, who went a shade paler. Scott himself stifled a chill, although the study was perfectly climate controlled. He also spoke Bereznikian. He was semi-fluent, through no will of his own, in the crude amalgamation of Ukrainian, Polish and Hungarian. That Place was still reaching back to haunt and taunt him. To reassert its grip.
In the chair across the room his father hunched in on himself.
"I don't have to tell you any findings of the investigation are strictly classified. We need to keep it all under wraps, for now."
He could guess as much. Same as he was having a very good hunch who the GDF expert investigators in the radioactive exclusion zone would be. Maybe Aunt Val expected him to do a bit more than just "liaise with local authorities". "Keep an eye on young Cameron and make sure Marion doesn't do anything hasty and reckless, that could cause another Global Conflict", more like. Easier said than done. But he had never backed off a challenge in his life.
"Copy that, Colonel! Forward me the rendezvous coordinates and I'll be there in One. It'll be fastest."
Aunt Val was obviously pleased he was quick to read between the lines.
"You'll meet Leutenant Van Arkle and Corporal Ortíz at an airbase in Katowice, then fly from there to Chornobyl."
Scott frowned for a second. His father's face a mirror of his own concern. The GDF were willing to draw attention to the impact site with One of the IR fame swoooshing in over the megapolis to the Exlusion Zone, but not advertise the involvement of their own officers. That could never point to anything comforting. Two tagging along for the ride was out of the question now too. So Scott would have to prepare for any eventuality without backup.
He was up on his feet in time for Colonel Casey's hologram to blink out. Dad was getting up too, a lot slower. Jeff's eyes were ill, haunted, hoarse voice thick.
"You don't have to do it, son. You don't have to go there."
As far as Scott was concerned, he didn't really have a choice. Someone attacked a still hot, faulty nuclear reactor. Scott wanted to reassure Dad it wasn't That Place. Only it was a demilitirized zone in Eastern Europe, several miles away from the border with a rogue dictatorship, in the middle of a forest still rigged with field mines and littered with undetonated missiles, with multiple unknown hostile factors and agents on the ground. The parallels were hard to ignore, so his own fingers were going numb with long repressed dread.
Scott stepped around the desk and gave his father a swift, fierce hug. For a brief moment it felt like Dad wouldn't let him go. But arms, suddenly frail, fell back and Scott hurried out. He still needed a shower before heading to his macabre destination. "No thieves or dangerous radiation" was, apparently, not in the cards. Again.

Hubble spies a cosmic pillar in the Eagle Nebula
In anticipation of the upcoming 35th anniversary of the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, ESA/Hubble is continuing the celebrations with a new view of the Eagle Nebula. This vast stellar nursery displays a towering spire of cosmic gas and dust that incorporates new data processing techniques developed since an image of this region was last released two decades ago.
Does this Hubble image of a sculpted pillar of gas and dust look to you like a curling party streamer, a plume of smoke from a blown-out candle, or an unusual balloon? Regardless of what you see when you gaze at this cosmic cloud, this new portrait is a cause for celebration.
As part of ESA/Hubble's 35th anniversary celebrations, a new image series is being shared to revisit stunning Hubble targets that were previously released. New images of NGC 346 and the Sombrero Galaxy have already been published. Now, ESA/Hubble is revisiting the Eagle Nebula (originally published in 2005 as part of Hubble's 15th anniversary celebrations) with new image processing techniques.
Unfurling along the length of the image is a pillar of cold gas and dust that is 9.5 light-years tall. As enormous as this dusty pillar is, it's just one small piece of the greater Eagle Nebula, which is also called Messier 16. The name Messier 16 comes from the French astronomer Charles Messier, a comet hunter who compiled a catalogue of deep-sky objects that could be mistaken for comets.
The name Eagle Nebula was inspired by the nebula's appearance. The edge of this shining nebula is shaped by dark clouds like this one, giving it the appearance of an eagle spreading its wings.
Not too far from the region pictured here are the famous Pillars of Creation, which Hubble has photographed multiple times, with images released in 1995 and 2015.
The heart of the nebula, which is located beyond the edge of this image, is home to a cluster of young stars. These stars have excavated an immense cavity in the center of the nebula, shaping otherworldly pillars and globules of dusty gas. This particular feature extends like a pointing finger toward the center of the nebula and the rich young star cluster embedded there.
The Eagle Nebula is one of many nebulae in the Milky Way that are known for their sculpted, dusty clouds. Nebulae take on these fantastic shapes when exposed to powerful radiation and winds from infant stars. Regions with denser gas are more able to withstand the onslaught of radiation and stellar winds from young stars, and these dense areas remain as dusty sculptures like the starry pillar shown here.
IMAGE: Eagle Nebula This towering structure of billowing gas and dark, obscuring dust might only be a small portion of the Eagle Nebula, but it is no less majestic in appearance for it. 9.5 light-years tall and 7000 light-years distant from Earth, this dusty sculpture is refreshed with the use of new processing techniques. The new Hubble image is part of ESA/Hubble’s 35th anniversary celebrations. Credit: ESA/Hubble & NASA, K. Noll

A link-clump demands a linkdump
Tumblr media
Cometh the weekend, cometh the linkdump. My daily-ish newsletter includes a section called "Hey look at this," with three short links per day, but sometimes those links get backed up and I need to clean house. Here's the eight previous installments:
https://pluralistic.net/tag/linkdump/
The country code top level domain (ccTLD) for the Caribbean island nation of Anguilla is .ai, and that's turned into millions of dollars worth of royalties as "entrepreneurs" scramble to sprinkle some buzzword-compliant AI stuff on their businesses in the most superficial way possible:
https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2023/08/ai-fever-turns-anguillas-ai-domain-into-a-digital-gold-mine/
All told, .ai domain royalties will account for about ten percent of the country's GDP.
It's actually kind of nice to see Anguilla finding some internet money at long last. Back in the 1990s, when I was a freelance web developer, I got hired to work on the investor website for a publicly traded internet casino based in Anguilla that was a scammy disaster in every conceivable way. The company had been conceived of by people who inherited a modestly successful chain of print-shops and decided to diversify by buying a dormant penny mining stock and relaunching it as an online casino.
But of course, online casinos were illegal nearly everywhere. Not in Anguilla – or at least, that's what the founders told us – which is why they located their servers there, despite the lack of broadband or, indeed, reliable electricity at their data-center. At a certain point, the whole thing started to whiff of a stock swindle, a pump-and-dump where they'd sell off shares in that ex-mining stock to people who knew even less about the internet than they did and skedaddle. I got out, and lost track of them, and a search for their names and business today turns up nothing so I assume that it flamed out before it could ruin any retail investors' lives.
Anguilla is a British Overseas Territory, one of those former British colonies that was drained and then given "independence" by paternalistic imperial administrators half a world away. The country's main industries are tourism and "finance" – which is to say, it's a pearl in the globe-spanning necklace of tax- and corporate-crime-havens the UK established around the world so its most vicious criminals – the hereditary aristocracy – can continue to use Britain's roads and exploit its educated workforce without paying any taxes.
This is the "finance curse," and there are tiny, struggling nations all around the world that live under it. Nick Shaxson dubbed them "Treasure Islands" in his outstanding book of the same name:
https://us.macmillan.com/books/9780230341722/treasureislands
I can't imagine that the AI bubble will last forever – anything that can't go on forever eventually stops – and when it does, those .ai domain royalties will dry up. But until then, I salute Anguilla, which has at last found the internet riches that I played a small part in bringing to it in the previous century.
The AI bubble is indeed overdue for a popping, but while the market remains gripped by irrational exuberance, there's lots of weird stuff happening around the edges. Take Inject My PDF, which embeds repeating blocks of invisible text into your resume:
https://kai-greshake.de/posts/inject-my-pdf/
The text is tuned to make resume-sorting Large Language Models identify you as the ideal candidate for the job. It'll even trick the summarizer function into spitting out text that does not appear in any human-readable form on your CV.
Embedding weird stuff into resumes is a hacker tradition. I first encountered it at the Chaos Communications Congress in 2012, when Ang Cui used it as an example in his stellar "Print Me If You Dare" talk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njVv7J2azY8
Cui figured out that one way to update the software of a printer was to embed an invisible Postscript instruction in a document that basically said, "everything after this is a firmware update." Then he came up with 100 lines of perl that he hid in documents with names like cv.pdf that would flash the printer when they ran, causing it to probe your LAN for vulnerable PCs and take them over, opening a reverse-shell to his command-and-control server in the cloud. Compromised printers would then refuse to apply future updates from their owners, but would pretend to install them and even update their version numbers to give verisimilitude to the ruse. The only way to exorcise these haunted printers was to send 'em to the landfill. Good times!
Printers are still a dumpster fire, and it's not solely about the intrinsic difficulty of computer security. After all, printer manufacturers have devoted enormous resources to hardening their products against their owners, making it progressively harder to use third-party ink. They're super perverse about it, too – they send "security updates" to your printer that update the printer's security against you – run these updates and your printer downgrades itself by refusing to use the ink you chose for it:
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/11/ink-stained-wretches-battle-soul-digital-freedom-taking-place-inside-your-printer
It's a reminder that what a monopolist thinks of as "security" isn't what you think of as security. Oftentimes, their security is antithetical to your security. That was the case with Web Environment Integrity, a plan by Google to make your phone rat you out to advertisers' servers, revealing any adblocking modifications you might have installed so that ad-serving companies could refuse to talk to you:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/08/02/self-incrimination/#wei-bai-bai
WEI is now dead, thanks to a lot of hueing and crying by people like us:
https://www.theregister.com/2023/11/02/google_abandons_web_environment_integrity/
But the dream of securing Google against its own users lives on. Youtube has embarked on an aggressive campaign of refusing to show videos to people running ad-blockers, triggering an arms-race of ad-blocker-blockers and ad-blocker-blocker-blockers:
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/where-will-the-ad-versus-ad-blocker-arms-race-end/
The folks behind Ublock Origin are racing to keep up with Google's engineers' countermeasures, and there's a single-serving website called "Is uBlock Origin updated to the last Anti-Adblocker YouTube script?" that will give you a realtime, one-word status update:
https://drhyperion451.github.io/does-uBO-bypass-yt/
One in four web users has an ad-blocker, a stat that Doc Searls pithily summarizes as "the biggest boycott in world history":
https://doc.searls.com/2015/09/28/beyond-ad-blocking-the-biggest-boycott-in-human-history/
Zero app users have ad-blockers. That's not because ad-blocking an app is harder than ad-blocking the web – it's because reverse-engineering an app triggers liability under IP laws like Section 1201 of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, which can put you away for 5 years for a first offense. That's what I mean when I say that "IP is anything that lets a company control its customers, critics or competitors:
https://locusmag.com/2020/09/cory-doctorow-ip/
I predicted that apps would open up all kinds of opportunities for abusive, monopolistic conduct back in 2010, and I'm experiencing a mix of sadness and smugness (I assume there's a German word for this emotion) at being so thoroughly vindicated by history:
https://memex.craphound.com/2010/04/01/why-i-wont-buy-an-ipad-and-think-you-shouldnt-either/
The more control a company can exert over its customers, the worse it will be tempted to treat them. These systems of control shift the balance of power within companies, making it harder for internal factions that defend product quality and customer interests to win against the enshittifiers:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/07/28/microincentives-and-enshittification/
The result has been a Great Enshittening, with platforms of all description shifting value from their customers and users to their shareholders, making everything palpably worse. The only bright side is that this has created the political will to do something about it, sparking a wave of bold, muscular antitrust action all over the world.
The Google antitrust case is certainly the most important corporate lawsuit of the century (so far), but Judge Amit Mehta's deference to Google's demands for secrecy has kept the case out of the headlines. I mean, Sam Bankman-Fried is a psychopathic thief, but even so, his trial does not deserve its vastly greater prominence, though, if you haven't heard yet, he's been convicted and will face decades in prison after he exhausts his appeals:
https://newsletter.mollywhite.net/p/sam-bankman-fried-guilty-on-all-charges
The secrecy around Google's trial has relaxed somewhat, and the trickle of revelations emerging from the cracks in the courthouse are fascinating. For the first time, we're able to get a concrete sense of which queries are the most lucrative for Google:
https://www.theverge.com/2023/11/1/23941766/google-antitrust-trial-search-queries-ad-money
The list comes from 2018, but it's still wild. As David Pierce writes in The Verge, the top twenty includes three iPhone-related terms, five insurance queries, and the rest are overshadowed by searches for customer service info for monopolistic services like Xfinity, Uber and Hulu.
All-in-all, we're living through a hell of a moment for piercing the corporate veil. Maybe it's the problem of maintaining secrecy within large companies, or maybe the the rampant mistreatment of even senior executives has led to more leaks and whistleblowing. Either way, we all owe a debt of gratitude to the anonymous leaker who revealed the unbelievable pettiness of former HBO president of programming Casey Bloys, who ordered his underlings to create an army of sock-puppet Twitter accounts to harass TV and movie critics who panned HBO's shows:
https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-features/hbo-casey-bloys-secret-twitter-trolls-tv-critics-leaked-texts-lawsuit-the-idol-1234867722/
These trolling attempts were pathetic, even by the standards of thick-fingered corporate execs. Like, accusing critics who panned the shitty-ass Perry Mason reboot of disrespecting veterans because the fictional Mason's back-story had him storming the beach on D-Day.
The pushback against corporate bullying is everywhere, and of course, the vanguard is the labor movement. Did you hear that the UAW won their strike against the auto-makers, scoring raises for all workers based on the increases in the companies' CEO pay? The UAW isn't done, either! Their incredible new leader, Shawn Fain, has called for a general strike in 2028:
https://www.404media.co/uaw-calls-on-workers-to-line-up-massive-general-strike-for-2028-to-defeat-billionaire-class/
The massive victory for unionized auto-workers has thrown a spotlight on the terrible working conditions and pay for workers at Tesla, a criminal company that has no compunctions about violating labor law to prevent its workers from exercising their legal rights. Over in Sweden, union workers are teaching Tesla a lesson. After the company tried its illegal union-busting playbook on Tesla service centers, the unionized dock-workers issued an ultimatum: respect your workers or face a blockade at Sweden's ports that would block any Tesla from being unloaded into the EU's fifth largest Tesla market:
https://www.wired.com/story/tesla-sweden-strike/
Of course, the real solution to Teslas – and every other kind of car – is to redesign our cities for public transit, walking and cycling, making cars the exception for deliveries, accessibility and other necessities. Transitioning to EVs will make a big dent in the climate emergency, but it won't make our streets any safer – and they keep getting deadlier.
Last summer, my dear old pal Ted Kulczycky got in touch with me to tell me that Talking Heads were going to be all present in public for the first time since the band's breakup, as part of the debut of the newly remastered print of Stop Making Sense, the greatest concert movie of all time. Even better, the show would be in Toronto, my hometown, where Ted and I went to high-school together, at TIFF.
Ted is the only person I know who is more obsessed with Talking Heads than I am, and he started working on tickets for the show while I starting pricing plane tickets. And then, the unthinkable happened: Ted's wife, Serah, got in touch to say that Ted had been run over by a car while getting off of a streetcar, that he was severely injured, and would require multiple surgeries.
But this was Ted, so of course he was still planning to see the show. And he did, getting a day-pass from the hospital and showing up looking like someone from a Kids In The Hall sketch who'd been made up to look like someone who'd been run over by a car:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/doctorow/53182440282/
In his Globe and Mail article about Ted's experience, Brad Wheeler describes how the whole hospital rallied around Ted to make it possible for him to get to the movie:
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/music/article-how-a-talking-heads-superfan-found-healing-with-the-concert-film-stop/
He also mentions that Ted is working on a book and podcast about Stop Making Sense. I visited Ted in the hospital the day after the gig and we talked about the book and it sounds amazing. Also? The movie was incredible. See it in Imax.
That heartwarming tale of healing through big suits is a pretty good place to wrap up this linkdump, but I want to call your attention to just one more thing before I go: Robin Sloan's Snarkmarket piece about blogging and "stock and flow":
https://snarkmarket.com/2010/4890/
Sloan makes the excellent case that for writers, having a "flow" of short, quick posts builds the audience for a "stock" of longer, more synthetic pieces like books. This has certainly been my experience, but I think it's only part of the story – there are good, non-mercenary reasons for writers to do a lot of "flow." As I wrote in my 2021 essay, "The Memex Method," turning your commonplace book into a database – AKA "blogging" – makes you write better notes to yourself because you know others will see them:
https://pluralistic.net/2021/05/09/the-memex-method/
This, in turn, creates a supersaturated, subconscious solution of fragments that are just waiting to nucleate and crystallize into full-blown novels and nonfiction books and other "stock." That's how I came out of lockdown with nine new books. The next one is The Lost Cause, a hopepunk science fiction novel about the climate whose early fans include Naomi Klein, Rebecca Solnit, Bill McKibben and Kim Stanley Robinson. It's out on November 14:

OFFSCREEN POST
Out
Never before had Victoria so heavily scrutinized the canopy hanging above her bed.
She twiddled her thumbs over her chest as she stared blankly at the tapestry of stars hanging above. White dots were connected with lines of golden fabric to create a map of the constellations over a sea of black and navy. At the very center of the tapestry lie Polaris, the north star, the tail of Ursa Minor. From where she lie, the Draco constellation lie just below it to the southwest, snaking its way around the central star cluster. She could recognize Cancer off to the east from its simple arrangement (though she was never able to make out the shape of a Crustle, even now), and not two constellations above it lie Orion the hunter missing part of his legs to the edge of the canopy. That was all the constellations she was able to identify in the span of this small pocket of eternity.
All to distract herself from the unnecessary feelings that plagued her mind.
The rising sun tentatively stretched its rays through the window, casting a gentle glow throughout the room and bathing it in morning light. The rays peeked through the loose fabric of the bed canopy draped over them, blessing their faces with a refreshing, heavenly glow. Out of the corner of her eye, Victoria risked yet another glance at her friend. Beside Victoria's laid-out form, Esper sat with her legs crossed and her sleeping Maschiff's head resting upon her knee— one hand stroking the canine Pokémon as the other lazily scrolled through her phone. It seemed no matter how the sun's rays struck her person, she always captured its light and made it look like nothing but a distant star— so blindingly brilliant that Victoria had to look away. She made mundanity seem divine.
Hm. She took a mental note of that last thought. Truly, it was getting harder to ignore the signs. Perhaps...
Victoria shuffled farther into the soft bed with a sigh, stretching her arm to cover her forehead as she looked to the false stars above. Over the past two days, she'd been allowing herself to entertain the... Possibility. Testing a hypothesis, of sorts— though she'd hardly call this a proper application of any scientific method. But with a subject so fickle as feelings, she felt that she had the right to err on the side of informality. Victoria was, of course, well aware of the potential biases in observing her own thought patterns without a third party to peer review her conclusions, but who was she to ask? Certainly not her brother, and certainly not any of her cousins. Even if she were to approach one of them in good conscience, the others would be upon her in an instant. There was nothing they loved more than exploiting vulnerabilities.
This was an endeavor that she would have to partake in on her own.
The procedure was simple: make no change in behaviors, simply observe her own thought patterns with a critical lens and analyze them accordingly. While she had little frame of reference for the difference between platonic and "not-so-platonic", she resigned to using the thought patterns of her brother as a point of comparison. At first, she believed she'd set the bar much too high— her brother was a hopeless romantic (emphasis on the hopeless)— but she'd been shocked to find an alarming number of times her own thoughts seemed to wax poetry in a similar manner. The thought of her sharing such a trait with him made her wrinkle her nose, but it'd be hypocritical of her to harbor disdain when the data clearly showed that she was not much better.
It was becoming increasingly more apparent that Esper made her a hopeless, selfish fool.
Victoria internally scowled at herself. Of course  she just couldn't be satisfied with the status quo, could she? She could have been content to fulfill her duties and let them go about their lives separately as friends, but no.  She just had to make things more complicated for herself.
Thinking about the direction of their future now saddled her with feelings of unease and uncertainty.
"Esper," she asked tentatively, tilting her head to look up at her friend. "Have you ever thought about what the future might hold?"
"Huh?" The other girl looked up from her phone in confusion, taking a moment to process the question. She shrugged as she answered, "Oh, well, yeah. Everyone thinks about that every now and again."
"And you?" Victoria rolled to her side to prop herself up by the elbow. "What do you think about your future?"
"Hmmm... I'm not... entirely sure... anymore." Esper admitted. She set her phone aside and nervously ran her hand through her hair as she continued, "I used to have a plan. I was... gonna graduate the academy and go back to Spikemuth.... try to get a good job and support my family. But now..." She shrugged again as she looked too Victoria, "I don't know. I don't quite know what my future may hold... I think I have to relearn a lot about myself and my situation first... But, uh, what about you? What do you think your future may hold?"
The girl hardly had to think of her response. Lifting up her chin, she spoke in a rehearsed manner, "After completing my core courses at the Academy, I am to pursue a specialized education in history and archaeology with a secondary focus in communications. As heir to the Velasco family, I am to assist my mother in her duties as the family head so that I may learn the responsibilities that come with assuming her position once it is my time to lead." She paused to take a breath, letting the next words fall slower from her mouth, "I will take a... a partner to wed and pass on the blood of the family, thus extending the blood memory and our psychic lineage. And on top of maintaining the family, I will work towards furthering our efforts for historical conservation and record-keeping."
"You seem to have a lot of it already figured out..." Her friend quietly chuckled before adding with a tilt of her head, "Though, you seemed a bit hesitant on the 'partner' bit?"
"Well," she glanced aside with drawn lips. That had always been her least favorite part; it never struck right with her. For years she'd assumed that she simply did not like the idea of having any sort of romantic entanglements, and perhaps that was true to some degree, but she was beginning to wonder if the underlying issue was truly about having any relationship at all or if... "It is because it is generally assumed that I am to marry a man..."
"Do you not want to marry a man?"
Victoria's face scrunched up slightly as she said through gritted teeth, "I've been... reconsidering... my preferences... as of late."
"I see..." Esper nodded in understanding, a small smile on her lips, "Well... If you want to talk about it I'm always available."
"Of course," she nodded back.
Victoria was initially content to leave it at that, but... internally, she felt as if a massive weight had been lifted off her shoulders; her chest felt lighter and her mind felt clearer. The girl looked down at her hands as if she had been born anew, heart racing and blood rushing to her face. How had saying such a simple thing made her feel so... free? She found herself chasing the feeling before she could stop herself, words stumbling as her mouth moved faster than her brain.
"I think that, deep down, I may have known for a long time— well, maybe not quite known, but there might have— I think there may have been some sort of intrinsic understanding. No, understanding isn't— it's not the right word. I do not think I understood. But... I think that perhaps I just..." She shook her head, abandoning the train of thought, "While I was aware that other options were available, including the option to simply not have any preference, I didn't— I never really allowed myself to consider them until, well, fairly recently. And— and even then, such considerations were unbeknownst to me... to my conscious thought, at least..."
Victoria clenched her fists as she continued, "But now, here, I find myself giving genuine, serious thought to the possibility that perhaps I..." She swallowed down the nerves clawing at her insides and seizing the words in her throat. "I believe that there's a chance that—" The corner of her eyes began to sting as she met her friend's gaze. "I think maybe—" Something tightened in her chest, stealing the breath from her lungs. "Perhaps..."
An intense fear gripped her very soul as the most asinine words she had ever uttered tumbled from her mouth: "Perhaps women."
Her friend hummed in response, nodding once more as she repeated Victoria's words, "Perhaps women."
The girl collapsed into the bed, burying her face in her pillow. "Yes..." she mumbled into the cushion, face ablaze with embarrassment. "Perhaps women..."
Esper scooped up her Maschiff and flopped down next to Victoria, her tone having a playful air to it, "Well... May I ask what or who specifically sparked this?"
Shoving her face further into the pillow, Victoria lifted a hand and waved it dismissively. "I'm afraid I've reached the peak of my vulnerability quota for the day."
This got a cackle out of her friend, "Fair, fair! I'll just have to ask another time then."
Victoria was about to respond when the door to her room suddenly burst open, startling the girl from where she hid herself in the bed. She whipped her head around to find her cousin Sebastián had kicked open the door and stepped into her room. Arms spread wide with a toothy grin, he shouted, "Rise 'n shine, it's bre—"
Her brother Jaime suddenly rushed in behind him, grabbing him by the jacket and trying to wrestle him out of the room. Grasping at the man's face to cover his mouth, he turned to his sister and apologized, "Sorry guys, I was— motherfucker, did you just lick my hand???— I came here to tell you that breakfast—"
Victoria didn't even let him finish. Still red in the face, she reared her head back and let out an uncharacteristic screech. "G— Get out!!"
The two boys immediately stopped their roughhousing to stare at her, blinking in confusion as Esper awkwardly glanced at them. Jaime was brave enough to speak up. "What?"
"I said 'get out!" The girl's voice cracked awkwardly. She grabbed one of the pillows nearest to her and chucked it at them. "Get out of my room!"
Jaime didn't need to be told twice. He pulled Seb out of the room, getting hit by the flying pillow on the way out, and called out "My bad!" as the door slammed shut behind him.
. . .
Now out of his sister’s room, Jaime tossed his cousin aside and immediately wiped his wet palms on the fabric of his pants. “Eugh...”
Sebastián stumbled to catch his balance and fixed the wrinkles of his jacket. In a mocking tone, he whined, “gEt OuT oF mY rOoOoOoOmMmM!” The ratty-haired man turned to his younger cousin and snickered. “What’s up with that?”
Jaime raised an unamused eyebrow at him, “Oh, I don’t know, maybe it’s ‘cause you barged into her room unannounced? That’s, like, a textbook definition of a teenager response.”
“Yeah, and Toria’s no textbook teenager, is she? She doesn’t do textbook teenager responses, bro.” He bent down to pick up the pillow that hit Jaime on his way out. “Like, she threw a pillow at you with her hands.”
The younger boy squinted at him suspiciously. “Whaaaat are you getting at?”
Sebastián gave his cousin a Cheshire grin, “All I’m sayin’ is she seemed kinda flustered just then. Just wonderin’ what that’s all about, is all.”
Jaime furrowed his brows and clicked his tongue. He knew that face— it was a face that usually proceeded something that bordered on psychological torture. A face that signalled Seb was concocting an absolutely devious plan. He pulled his cousin by the jacket and led him away from Victoria and Esper. “Leave it alone, Seb.”
But he knew he wouldn’t. He never does.
Scene End.

Turning Panic Into Action: Astraweb’s Client Centered Process
Tumblr media
When Jane Doe first reached out to Astraweb, she was overwhelmed with panic and uncertainty. Her life savings, heavily invested in cryptocurrency, had abruptly disappeared following a severe market crash. What initially felt like an irreversible loss soon transformed into a hopeful journey toward recovery all thanks to Astraweb’s dedicated, client-centered process.
The First Contact: Providing Calm, Reassurance, and Genuine Understanding
The difference began immediately at the first point of contact. Many companies in the digital asset recovery space treat clients as case numbers rather than individuals, but Astraweb prides itself on a profoundly human approach. From the moment Jane connected with their team, she was met with calm professionalism and empathetic understanding. Astraweb’s experts didn’t just collect the basic facts of her situation; they invested time in learning about her unique concerns, fears, and goals.
This personalized attention is critical. Financial loss, especially in the volatile cryptocurrency market, is not just about money it’s deeply tied to emotional well-being and future security. By acknowledging Jane’s distress and validating her fears, Astraweb’s team immediately alleviated much of her initial panic. They reassured her that despite the challenging circumstances, recovery was possible and that Astraweb would support her every step of the way. This empathetic approach planted the seeds of hope and trust that would sustain Jane through the recovery process.
Transparency and Clear Communication: Building Trust Through Every Step
One of the cornerstones of Astraweb’s client-centered methodology is transparency. Jane was kept fully informed from the outset, with the team providing clear, jargon-free explanations of the entire recovery process. Rather than leaving her uncertain or confused, Astraweb made sure she understood each step, from preliminary case assessment to the complex asset tracing and retrieval efforts ahead.
Regular, timely updates ensured that Jane never felt left in the dark. She received progress reports outlining milestones achieved, any obstacles encountered, and the strategies planned moving forward. This ongoing dialogue was more than just information sharing it was a partnership. Jane had the opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns, and engage actively in decision-making. Astraweb’s responsiveness and clarity gave her a sense of control and confidence, which is often lacking when facing financial recovery situations
Tumblr media
Strategic Action and Efficient Recovery: Delivering Results with Precision and Care
With a thorough plan in place, Astraweb’s team mobilized swiftly and efficiently. Their approach was methodical and tailored to Jane’s specific case. Leveraging cutting-edge technology and deep expertise in blockchain analysis and digital forensics, they navigated the complexities inherent in cryptocurrency recovery.
What sets Astraweb apart is not only their technical prowess but also their commitment to aligning every action with the client’s best interests. For Jane, this meant careful management of sensitive data and continuous coordination to ensure all efforts supported her recovery goals. The team’s professionalism was evident in their precision and tenacity, persistently pursuing leads and unraveling the often opaque paths that digital assets can take.
Over time, their dedication paid off. Astraweb successfully recovered a significant portion of Jane’s lost funds. This achievement was more than just a financial victory it was a powerful restoration of Jane’s peace of mind and future stability.
Final Steps: Restoring Financial Security and Empowering Confidence
When Jane received the final recovery statement, the relief and gratitude she experienced were profound. Astraweb’s seamless process had not only restored her financial security but also transformed a traumatic event into a story of empowerment. The client-centered approach meant Jane never felt like a passive bystander; instead, she was an informed, engaged partner in reclaiming her assets.
Beyond the monetary recovery, Jane gained something invaluable a renewed sense of control over her financial destiny. Astraweb’s dedication to transparent communication and compassionate case management helped her move past fear and uncertainty. She emerged with greater knowledge of digital asset management and an increased ability to face future financial challenges with confidence and clarity.
Tumblr media
Astraweb’s Commitment: More Than Recovery, A Partnership
Jane’s story illustrates the core philosophy that drives Astraweb’s work: every client deserves more than just technical recovery services they deserve empathy, clarity, and partnership. The company understands that behind every lost asset is a person’s hopes, dreams, and security at stake.
For those facing the daunting prospect of lost cryptocurrency or other digital assets, Astraweb’s process offers a path forward. Through empathy-driven service, transparent communication, and technical excellence, they prove that even the most complex and distressing financial setbacks can be addressed with care and effectiveness.
If you or someone you know finds themselves in a similar predicament, Astraweb stands ready to provide expert guidance and dedicated support at every stage of recovery.

The Hand That Feeds (Edward Nashton x OC)
Summary: Edward finds himself on the receiving end of a secret admirer and stalker. When someone from his past forces himself into his life, Edward foolishly finds himself taking pity on him.
Content: Stalking, depression, mental illness, homelessness, mental institutionalization, mention of suicide ideation, use of deadname because the OC is a closeted trans man, nudity, physical restraint/aggression, overall angst.
The OC is Mitch D'Angelo, AKA The Distortionist. Here is more information about him.
Knocking on the poorly aged apartment door, Mitch was taking possibly the biggest gamble of his life. The fluorescent ceiling light flickered, and the cramped hallway reeked of something dying. In the silence, he could hear the water dripping from his soaked clothes onto the ground. The chance that anyone was awake at this hour was slim. Becoming increasingly apprehensive, he hoped no one would answer the door, but his hopes were shattered as the wooden floor creaked at an increasing volume. Heavy steps sent shivers down his spine, and he wanted to run, but this was his only choice. The lock was suddenly being undone, causing him to jolt as the door opened, still on the latch. Suddenly, he was being stared down by a large figure between the crack of the door. Warm light pooled out from behind. He fixated on his eyes, unblinking as if they would be the last things he ever saw.
“Please, help me,” Mitch croaks, unable to string together any other thought.
“Do I know you?” he sneers.
“It’s Michelle,” he murmurs reluctantly, pulling his hood down to further expose his face. “You remember me, right Edward?”
Eyeing him up and down, Edward relaxes a little. “Yeah,” he answers, quietly. “I thought they put you in Arkham?”
“They released me,” he sighs. “I don’t have anywhere to go.”
“How did you find my apartment?” he asks.
“Oh, it’s a funny story actually,” he perks up slightly. “They rehired me at the call center for a little bit. I searched some databases, and I found employee data for the forensics department, and I found you there. Turns out our departments shared the same website. They ended up firing me because I ‘wasn’t fit for the job anymore’. Apparently you quit a while ago, I wonder why,” he rambles, forgetting his anxiety for a moment.
Edward, raises an eyebrow, unphased. “I don’t think you’re supposed to do that.”
“In my defense, it’s not the worst thing I’ve done.”
“What makes you think I’ll let you in?”
“No one cares about people like us,” Mitch recites, grimly. Glancing up, he notices Edward’s gaze soften. “Remember the time you told me that? The time I had to give you information about a case. The first time we ever spoke. We’re both miserable. I thought you’d be more understanding.”
Silence. Edward doesn’t move, instead he continues staring down at the other man. He almost looked like an entirely different person, as if being institutionalized aged and withered him away. His hair fell over his face, choppy, frizzy, and damp. His clothes were all baggy, weighing heavy on his body. He slumped into himself, sighing deeply.
“Forget it,” he whispers, starting to walk away. Suddenly, the door shut and reopened with the latch undone. Standing to the side of the frame, Edward lets him in. Apprehensive, he walks inside as the door is shut behind him. The apartment isn’t as dingy as the rest of the building, being slightly more updated. It was painfully plain, with all white walls and scuffed up wooden floors and cabinets.
Despite already being on edge, Mitch yelps as his wrists are grabbed and shoved against his chest, pinning him back against the door. His hands and fingers twitch he’s grasped and shoved  in place. “I want to help you,” Edward starts, breathing heavily on the other’s face. “How do I know your intentions are pure? Why exactly are you here?” Spreading his arms by his wrists, he pins them against the door, allowing him to hover his body closer to his.
“I want to use your shower,” he states timidly, though he isn’t as scared as he’s supposed to be.
“Why mine? We only spoke a few times several years ago. You don’t have any friends or family to go to?”
“I don’t” he responds flatly.
“What is it about me that made you come here?” he hisses, growing impatient. Edward’s hands tremble, still painfully gripping his sharp, bony wrists.
“You’re interesting,” Mitch says with a weak voice. Raising an eyebrow, Edward’s grip weakens slightly, confused. “I thought it was interesting how by coincidence, we frequented the same cafe every week, and how despite how hard I tried, I couldn’t figure out what it was you did during the day. It was as if you only went out at night. You’re one of the sick people like me who drink coffee late at night,” he chuckled, almost forgetting he was pinned against a wall being interrogated by a man twice his strength.
“What do you think I do at night?” he grumbles through gritted teeth.
“Graveyard shift, I guess,” Mitch shrugs, playing dumb for his own well-being.
“So that’s it? You just have some weird fixation on me?”
“I think of you as a friend.”
Releasing a sigh, Edward lets go, turning away from him. “Fine. You can use my shower,” he walks across the floor, turning the corner into the hallway. Mitch stays put by the door, mind foggy. He tries processing what just happened, but is cut off by Edward yelling across the apartment, “hey, I’m trying to show where the bathroom is.” Startled, he perks up, following into the hallway he saw him disappear into.
After being left alone with the door shut, Mitch stared at himself in the mirror, having not been paying attention to his appearance for so long. The first thing he noticed were how red his eye whites had become, and how deep and defined his under eye bags were. He began undressing, relieved, finally shedding the dingy, soaked clothes. As the sleeves slid up his arms, he noticed many cuts and bruises for the first time on his newly exposed skin. He noticed even more as he looked at his bare torso in the mirror, trancing his fingers across a deep purple bruise on his stomach. He felt disassociated as he stared at his nude body, as if he forgot it existed. Turning the faucet on, he let the water run cold, waiting for it to heat up. After several minutes of no change in the temperature, he braced himself, stepping into the ice cold shower. It hurt, especially on his open wounds, so he tried washing himself as quickly as possible. The only soap was a nearly finished bar with little hairs stuck all over it, and no sign of shampoo or conditioner. He worked with what he was given, and tried cleaning himself as thoroughly as possible.
Pulling back the shower curtains, he was met with the fact that there wasn’t a towel in sight. Stepping out of the tub, he trailed water across the cracked tiles as he rummaged through cabinets, finding nothing to dry himself with. He gave up, flicking off the lights and crawling back into the tub, laying on his side. He was scared to leave the bathroom, knowing that Edward might kick him out instantly. Sleeping in a bathtub wasn’t comfortable at all, but it was better than any other option he had. Entangled in his own arms, his shoulders cramped against the hard surface, entire body shivering. Despite his discomfort, it didn’t take long for him to fall asleep, half aware of the nightmares he began slipping into.
All of his dreams were similar, always leaving him with feelings of entrapment and loss of control. They were scary and confusing, the only word he could find to describe them was “unreality.” Not even remembering what was seen in the nightmares, he could only recall feelings of what happened. Being touched, beaten, touching others, hurting others, and other perverse, violent things. He’s tried writing them down to understand them better, but it proved to be impossible. The next best thing was to illustrate them, which produced hideous, unrecognizable, abstract garbage, in his eyes. He accepted that there was nothing he could do to make the nightmares stop.
In the middle of the night, he was awoken by the creaking of the bathroom door. Though his eyes fluttered open, his vision was hazy, and he didn’t feel awake. The ground beneath his body reverberated with heavy footsteps, and a shadowy figure loomed over him in the near pitch black room. Not even sure if it was Edward, he stayed still, pretending to still be sleeping. It felt like they were standing there for hours as he held his breath, but the figure bent forward, encroaching their arms around Mitch before picking him up from the bathtub. His head fell over the figure’s shoulders, too exhausted to hold it up. They wore a thick jacket, and he could feel body heat through the material against his bare skin, strangely feeling nice in a possible dire situation. He was too tired to be afraid, but he managed to make a few sleepy grunts in protest.
“It’s fine, it’s just me. Go back to sleep,” Edward whispered, mouth grazing against the side of his face. Despite having no reason to trust him, Mitch instinctively relaxed, letting him drop him onto a bed on his back. The covers were pulled up over him, and Edward started for the door. He left the apartment, letting the heavy door slam behind him.
Sitting up swiftly, he finally gathered the strength to wake up. Hunched over, he stared into the darkness, panting from an adrenaline rush that came a minute too late. Tears welled in his eyes as the fear sunk in, realizing how many horrifying things could’ve just happened, but all Edward decided to do was lay him in his own bed. Jumping up, he turns the lamp on and begins rummaging through Edward’s drawers, stealing boxers and a pair of sweatpants he had to roll up around his ankles. He found a hoodie crumpled up on the floor, and holding it to his face he could tell how much it stunk, but he threw it on anyway. Grabbing his sandals from the bathroom, he runs out of the apartment, searching for Edward.
He returned to his old habit of stalking people in the street, keeping himself at a distance as Edward traversed the nearly empty streets. Holding his breath, he hid behind buildings with each block he passed, making sure there was no possibility of him being found. The process was excruciating and never ending. Every block began to look the same, as if despite walking for nearly 30 minutes straight got him nowhere. He thought to himself how much he’d rather be back at the apartment, in the bed Edward so graciously let him sleep in, but there was no way he could sleep knowing this was his only chance to learn the truth. He didn’t care if following Edward led him to the pits of hell. It would be worth it to be closer with him.
Eventually Edward reached his destination, allowing Mitch to finally catch his breath. He recognized the area they stopped at, it was right next to the cafe. Edward entered a dingy old hotel across the street from it, leaving Mitch pondering what reason he had in going there. Maybe he wanted to sleep somewhere else for the night, because he didn’t trust him enough to sleep around him. The only other option he could rationalize was that Edward was secretly an escort, and that’s why he’s so elusive about what he does.
As he watched Edward disappear into the elevator inside, he stepped back, eyeing the building’s windows up and down, waiting to see which room had its lights flicked on. His heart raced, standing on the corner, shaking with anticipation as he finally saw a room with fire escape access light up. Leaping from his spot, he ran up to the fire escape, clawing up the brick wall to the ladder. It took some trial and error but eventually he hooked his hands and feet on the ladder, and he slowly climbed upward. Crawling up the steps in a spiral, his limbs shook like leaves and sweat accumulated in his palms. Scaling structures like this was familiar to him, but no matter how many times he did it, he always felt sick with fear. The fire escape was rusty and creaky, making him have to climb incredibly slowly to not make noise. Reaching the window he was after, he noticed the blinds were drawn, only allowing light to pass through. Just like the rest of the building, both the glass and frame of the window was dingy and fragile.
He pressed his palms against the glass, using friction to force the window open at a snail's pace. With a bit of elbow grease, it budged, allowing him to coax it open. Just as it cracked open, he could feel someone on the other side pulling it up by the latch. Immediately, he jumped down, hiding against the wall under the window, foolishly hoping it would grant any sort of hiding. He curled up, shutting his eyes tightly and he listened to the window snap open in place. Pathetically, his body trembled as the back of his shirt was grabbed firmly, pulling him up as if he were a cat being held by its scruff. He was pulled into the window and thrown onto the floor in a swinging motion.
Sitting up with his head hanging low, could feel the presence of the assailant. Slowly, he looked up at the figure overshadowing him. Eyes wide with disbelief, his heart palpitated as he recognized the symbol painted on the coat, and the mask obscuring the man’s face. His breath was slow and heavy, and his eyes beamed through the mask, conveying an unrecognizable emotion. Mitch laughed, knowing it was the worst possible moment for it, but the irony of the whole situation made him feel like an idiot. All this time he spent obsessing over Edward for seemingly no reason, and at the same time idolizing The Riddler. Sometimes he wished that they were one in the same, but his better judgment rationalized against it. It turned out, his instincts were right all along. Tears streamed down his face as his noises turned into sobs.
The Riddler reached down, painfully gripping his arms as he pulled his body up into a standing position. Mitch didn’t fight it, allowing him to be held in place, arms firmly held against his body as fingers dug into his skin, bruising him. “I should’ve slammed the door on your face. Ungrateful bitch,” The Riddler hissed through his mask.
Mitch trembled in his grasp, feeling the need to run away, but losing feeling in his legs. “I can explain,” he croaked, barely coherent.
“No need. You think turning me in will make your life better somehow. You really think you’ll get your job back by doing this? By turning on your kin? Someone just as despicable as you? They already threw you away, and you’ll be dumb enough to let them do it again and again,” he rants, inching his face closer as his mask grazes the side of the other’s face. Mitch pulled his head away, feeling his hot breath on his neck. He focused on his surroundings, trying to avoid the confrontation at hand. It was a filthy, cluttered mess. The walls, desks, and floors were covered with papers. Multiple screens lit up the room, and unidentifiable objects were scattered everywhere. In the background there were the sounds of a cage rattling along with animalistic squeals. To accompany the sounds was the smell of feces and urine.
“I wanted to see you,” it was so difficult to speak. Between the rotten smell and choking on the lump in his throat, Mitch felt like the air was being sucked from his lungs.
“I know you have an ulterior motive. That’s why I’m not letting you leave.” He broods.
Mitch exhaled deeply, relaxing his body in The Riddler’s clawed hands. He became limp, and stopped trembling. “If you’re going to kill me, please just get it over with. I’m tired,” he whispered weakly. “I just want you to know you saved my life,” his voice cracked.
“What?” he reacts in utter confusion, blinking rapidly with furrowed brows behind the eyeholes of his mask.
“When they released me from Arkham, they just left me to my own devices. I didn’t have anywhere to go. My landlord was supposed to keep my place on hold until my release, but since I was kept there past the set date without any official documentation, they gave it to someone else,” he confessed, punctuating his sentences with heavy breaths. “They gave me my job back, at least, but I was completely broken and living on the streets, so they let me go,” tears started pouring from Mitch’s eyes, but he wasn’t able to sob. He had a distant, cold stare, not looking at the man holding him hostage. “I thought there wasn’t a point in living anymore. I knew the world would never change. My own father couldn’t change his mind. He still wouldn’t help me when I was on my last leg to stand on. He slammed the fucking door on my face, seeing me filthy and bruised, pleading for help.” The Riddler’s grip softened until he let go of the other man, letting him slowly fall to the floor on his knees, not having the mental strength to stand on his own. “I didn’t think there was any hope for the world until I found out about The Riddler. You were the only person I’ve ever seen trying to honestly fix the world. If you think the world would be better without me in it, I will accept my fate. If you want to be the one who kills me, I’m at least glad it’s you of all people.” Mitch fell deeper, curling his back until his forehead hit the floor between the other’s feet. He was curled up on the ground, either in a fetal position, or bowing.
Edward kneeled onto his knees, holding Mitch’s wrists, helping him to sit up. “I won’t kill you,” he states matter of factly, still holding onto the other’s wrists. “All I want is to keep you here. I can’t have you following me around all the time. All it’ll do is cause trouble for both of us, especially me,” his tone became gentle, but still commanding. “You wanna be around me so bad? You’re in luck. You’re not leaving this room until I say so.”
Suddenly, Mitch lunges into him, causing him to flinch, but soon realizing it's a hug. Unsure how to reciprocate, he places a hand on his back firmly. “Thank you,” he’s finally sobbing again, holding onto Edward like he’s the last thing keeping him grounded. He cries into his shoulder, tears rolling down the material of his jacket, staining it. He’s unable to notice he’s suffocating himself in Edward’s chest, until he runs out of air and pulls away with a gasp, remembering that he’s still alive.

BAE Systems will improve GPS technology in the Eurofighter Typhoon
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 11/17/2023 - 14:00 in Military
After successful activities to demonstrate functional compatibility and feasibility of physical installation, BAE Systems' Digital Anti-jam GPS Receiver (DIGAR) was selected to continue in the next phase of the Phase 4 Improvements (P4E) capability program on the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.
DIGAR will increase the protection of the aircraft against GPS signal interference, falsification and radio frequency (RF) interference, so that pilots can perform their missions in the most contested RF environments.
DIGAR uses advanced electronic antenna, high-performance signal processing and digital beam formation for significantly improved GPS signal reception and superior interference immunity. These capabilities considerably increase the level of protection against GPS interference and are critical for combat aircraft while maneuvering in a contested battle space.
The fighter will also receive the new GEMVII-6 airborne digital GPS receiver from BAE Systems which, when coupled to the electronic unit of the DIGAR antenna, allows the platform to conduct high-capacity digital beam formation anti-jamming.
“Modern fighters require accurate positioning and navigation data for mission success in GPS-contested environments,” said Luke Bishop, director of Navigation Systems and Sensors at BAE Systems. "Our DIGAR antenna electronic components and GEM VII GPS receivers are reliable to protect these vital platforms in GPS-challenged environments to support mission success."

The Eurofighter Typhoon is the backbone of the combat to air defense of the United Kingdom and several of its main European and international allies. Serving nine nations, it provides 24/7 air security, 365 days a year and is in frontline operations, including NATO's ongoing air policing throughout Eastern Europe.
BAE Systems, as part of the Eurofighter consortium of four countries behind the aircraft, is continuously investing in the Typhoon jet to maintain its cutting-edge military capability.
In addition to the Typhoon, DIGAR is also installed on the F-16, F-15 and other special-purpose aircraft in the U.S., such as air interdiction and force protection platforms, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Leveraging more than 40 years of GPS experience, BAE Systems' GPS product family offers suitable size, weight and power characteristics for a variety of applications, including portable electronics, precision guided ammunition, unmanned aerial vehicles, vehicles and aircraft.
The work at DIGAR and GEMVII takes place at BAE Systems' facilities in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where the company invested in a state-of-the-art engineering and production center with 25,800 square meters.
