Was waiting for class to start the other day and had the random inspiration to draw these based on FMA AUs I made a while back

I have em in order of time they were made. The doodles are a bit rushed.

Just some bare bones (more like crumbs) there's a lot of details obviously not included I just thought they'd be fun to make. I haven't decided if I wanna elaborate on some of my AUs here yet (my friends have dealt with my rambles about them though)

edwin is a toxic ass ship. I DONT CARE SOMEONE HAD TO SAY IT!! you mean to tell me in ep 46, when ed politely asked her to leave the country just in case, things go wrong, HE GETS HIT WITH A WRENCH?? WHAAAT? lets be realistic here, why does she hit him with a wrench?? thats abuse And then to top shit off, she yells at him? "I don't wanna hear any doubts from you!" WHAT DOUBTS? its like in her eyes he's supposed to be god, she expects him to win all the fights and when he does, she beats the fuck out of him for getting hurt?? and the audacity she had on the promised day to be saying "save us ed" knowing shes just gonna kick his ass with a wrench when he comes back?

this is why i'll always prefer ed with roy or ling, because while i hate winrys thought process and how she treats him, i can sympathize with her just a little, on some shallow level of understanding the fact that she has no fucking idea what happens when ed is away from her. ed being with another fighter is way better because 1. he doesnt have to worry about making anyone cry, and they can actually help him. winry is a liability, like it or not. someone could snatch her and she'd be helpless to stop it, which isnt her fault but its just another reason that they just arent compatible to me.

I feel like Winry sees Ed for who he could be rather than who he is. And I hate that troupe, the "you have so much potential and im gonna push you to be the person i know you can (want you to) be! Take him for who he is, not for someone who doesnt exist yet. Can you imagine how much pressure was on Ed knowing Winry wouldnt leave town? And that she was expecting him to save the day? he's not god and hes not some kind of a hero, he just wanted his body back and because hes a good person he wanted to save everyone else. winry didnt even let him open up to her cs she'd fucking cry about it. ed deserves someone who understands him, who understands what he's going through and what he's gone through, and still loves him.

watching fmab as a pre-teen and then rewatching it again as an adult is an experience. 15 yr old me was like "RAAAA ED'S MY GOAT!! WHY DON'T THE ADULT CHARACTERS LET HIM DO ANYTHING!! JUSTICE FOR MY BOY!!!!!"

adult me has realized mustang and all other characters were completely objectively right. not only is ed a CHILD that frequently tries to take on adult responsibilities (on top of those he ALREADY HAS due to being an Orphan and Child Soldier) but he's so fucking annoying about it??? he pulls up to every single dangerous situation happening in Amestris, 'handles it' amid the loud screams of NO from everyone and his little brother and Winry and God, and then leaves thinking that he just did certified Cool Guy shit. i want to kill him with hammers
