Tommy: If Ellie jumped off a bridge, would you do the same thing?
Joel, sighing and getting ready to jump off: Yes. She can't swim.

still not over ellie's smile falling off her face once she rests her cheek on joel's back not because she isn't happy but because it's suddenly so overwhelming that this is allowed. she has this now when for so many years she didn't. it's bittersweet and it is grief and it is comfort and it is the youngest kid living inside ellie coming up to the surface to hold onto someone larger than life. she looks like she might cry

I think the show was a bit scary and stuff before. But this episode? No cordyceps, no clickers. Just men. That is what made this episode so incredibly terrifying.
It’s not that it’s scary bc it’s an apocalypse. It’s scary bc David is just a man, and running into someone like him is not a rarity in our world OR the apocalyptic world of the show

It doesn't matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationary!

Did Ellie lean on Joel while riding on the back of the horse in the game too?
She didn't. But she would (if not holding the saddle) take a hold of his jacket/shirt in the cutest possible way sometimes. This is one of my favorite little details in TLOU 1.

The way Joel closes his eyes in relief... How Ellie burrows her face into his shoulder... Fuck, this scene is going to obliterate me 😭
