Spiritual Blessings (Ephesians 1:7-14)
We cannot predestine ourselves.
The Trinity, by Ukrainian artist Feodosiy Humeniuk, 1981  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our offenses, according to the riches of his grace that he lavished on us in all wisdom and insight. He did this when he revealed to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, toward the administration of the fullness of the times,…

Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation (226) - December 30 2023
Play on other Podcast Apps No decision of a free-will is ever forced, otherwise the will would not be a ‘free’ will. The most important free-will decision is the one in which we make for Christ, to receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord. God does not force this upon us, nor does he force upon us the Truth, which is the Bible, God’s Own Word. This week we focus on asking the Lord for the spirit of…

Isaiah 41: God's Elect
The pith of this teaching on election explains that God is sovereign, God controls and guides all events for God’s glory and for the good of God’s people. #Isaiah41 #IsraelGodsElect #JacobandEsau
God’s Promise of Care After speaking to all the nations, God now turns to one nation, God’s own people. But you, Israel, my servant,    Jacob, whom I have chosen,    the offspring of Abraham, my friend;you whom I took from the ends of the earth    and called from its farthest corners, saying to you, “You are my servant;    I have chosen you and not cast you off” Isaiah 41:8-9 (NRSV) In the…

just the facts
Tumblr media
Years ago there was a TV show that used the phrase “just the facts”.  The show was called Dragnet, and it was typically when an investigator wold be looking for evidence in a case.  He wold ask for “just the facts” as he talked to someone.
We ought to be looking for the facts and make sure what is false, what is deceptive and what does not line up with truth is pushed aside, or even thrown away.  We need to know, hold and share the facts about our faith.
It is when life is dark that we need to know the facts.  It is when life is tough that we need to know the facts.  It is when we are going down the roads that lead to depression that we need to know the facts.  It is when we are sick or suffering that we need to know the facts.  It is when we think all is lost and we are out of control that we need the facts.
Here ya go.  Just a few verses that scream at us about our faith.  I run to these often.  I run there in my thinking.  That is needed.  I run there in my quoting.  That is amazing because God brings it to my mind.  I run there in sermons or when I might be going in a direction that will not be helpful.
Ephesians 1:3-8  NLT
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. 4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. 6 So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. 7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.
The facts…
We are blessed with every spiritual blessing.
We are loved by God.
We are chosen by God.
We are adopted by God in to the family of faith.
We are gifted with the best gift of all in Jesus!
We have a God who is rich in kindness and grace toward to us.
We have freedom, forgiveness and a heavenly Father who gives us what we need.
Just the facts.  There they are.  You might even memorize them and use them today as the world throws you the most difficult of situations.  You might share those with someone who comes your way that is going in any direction other than God’s direction.
You might even pray those things repeating the truth back to God seals the proverbial deal in our hearts.  God has given them to us.  Just the facts all because of Jesus!

Daily Devotional: Ephesians 1:13-23
Daily Devotional: Ephesians 1:13-23
The saints believed the gospel message when they heard it and were sealed in Christ by the giving of the Holy Spirit. A seal is something placed on an official letter making that letter the property of one person. If anyone other than the approved person breaks that seal, consequences ensue. King Jesus’s seal is placed on every believer, marking that believer as King Jesus’s property. That seal…

I Pray for my Brothers and Sisters
God wants all His children to know Him and to love Him. God convicts us to pray for each other, friends! Let us do so without ceasing!
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Matthew 5:43-45 "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust."
Amos 7:4-6 "This is what the Lord God showed me: behold, the Lord God was calling for a judgement by fire, and it devoured the great deep and was eating up the land. Then I said, 'O Lord God, please cease! How can Jacob stand? He is so small!' And the Lord relented concerning this: 'This also shall not be,' said the Lord God."
Ephesians 6:13-20 "Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak."
James 5:16 "Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working."
1 Timothy 2:1-4 "First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."
Isaiah 62:6-7 "On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the Lord in remembrance, take no rest, and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth."
Hebrews 7:25 "Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them."
Luke 6:28 "'But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either.'"
Psalm 20 "May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob protect you! May he send you help from the sanctuary and give you support from Zion! May he remember all your offerings and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! May he grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans! May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners! May the Lord fulfill all your petitions! Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust the name of the Lord our God. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright. O Lord, save the king! May he answer us when we call."

"I Choose You!" (Ephesians 1:3-6)
People tend to live up to how they view themselves, to how they self-identify.
Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ. For he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and blameless before him in love. He did this by predestining us to adoption as his legal heirs through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will—to the praise of the…

The Morning Devotional: WCF 18.2
The Morning Devotional for May 30, 2023 The Westminster Confession of Faith 18.2 II. This certainty is not a bare conjectural and probable persuasion, grounded upon a fallible hope;a but an infallible assurance of faith, founded upon the divine truth of the promises of salvation,b the inward evidence of those graces unto which these promises are made,c the testimony of the Spirit of adoption…

Church notes - 2nd April 2023
2nd Ephesians 1:3 - 10
Communion 1 Corinthians 11:22 - 27
Prayer - For the recently elected New South Wales Government.
Sermon 1 John 3:10 - 24 What does real Christianity look like? It demonstrates rightous lives and love. vs 10 - 15
vs 11 vs 12 Don't be like Cain.
e.g. Star Wars Anakin Skywalker had sinister evil fester inside him until he became Darth Vader.
True vs False Christianity False Teachers wouldn't have righteous lives.
Be thankful that God is at work in your life. Look at the fruit of a new teaching. Does it line up with the Bible?
True Christianity demonstrates true love. vs 16
Jesus' sacrificial love.
vs 17
vs 19 e.g. Parental love. Siblings reflecting their parent's love.
Real Christianity 1) It demonstrates righteous living and love 2) It demonstrates Christlike love 3) It demonstrates obedience to God's commands and gives assurance.
Live before God with confidence.
A whole life commitment.
Imposter Syndrome
But we have assurance. If have committed to Christ, God has admitted you into His family.
Romans 8:1 Romans 5:1
Christians can be assurred that they belong to Christ because of His final work on the Cross, and the evidence they see in their lives.
When you feel unsettled, remember what real Christianity looks like from 1 John 3 and with God's help, persevere in it unashamedly.
