yuma: twilight sparkle. purple, the main character, both have neuroses that make me want to study them under a microscope.

shinigami: spike. little purple fucker who is also there.

halara: rarity. they're both fancy. also rarity has a cat. also this one's bizarre but i feel like i saw a lot of bronies who were really into rarity? like, they thought this horse was hot? well i think halara's hot so there we go.

fubuki: pinkie pie. they're #silly and have powers that are absolutely cracked (fubuki is self-explanatory as a time traveler, but i think pinkie pie beats any powerscaling tournament). both of them also have complicated family lives.

yakou: applejack. hard-working and the only one without any sort of obvious power (unicorn magic, pegasus flight, or whatever the fuck pinkie pie has going on). overly protective and the closest thing to a "parent friend" the group has.

vivia: fluttershy. both can communicate with things that the others can't (ghosts and animals respectively). if vivia was a pegasus, he probably wouldn't want to fly much, either. plus, while vivia isn't really "shy", he's definitely the quietest of the group. this one's pretty loose but he sure as hell isn't anyone else.

desuhiko: rainbow dash. idk they were the only ones left. they're both cocky i guess? i could imagine rainbow dash tackling a gun-wielding pony to defend twilight. also they're both attracted to women.

kurumi: starlight glimmer or whatever her fuckin name is. shows up later in the story, hangs out with twilight/yuma a lot. i didn't watch this far into mlp so my opinions on starlight are nonexistent, much like how my overall thoughts on kurumi are "yeah she's fine".

the aetheria trio: the cutiemark crusaders. give both sets of characters a few years, then teach them what a polycule is. you will get the same results. karen can be babs seed or whatever.

makoto: princess luna. i don't know man i just see it in my soul.

applejack headcanons in a sort of timeline i have in my head based on the flashbacks/statements in the show lol this is gonna get long i apologise

aj is born in the sweet apple acres barn to bright mac and pear butter :D

we get the apple family reunion episode flashback where she is lichrally baby asking for apple fritters 🥺

she grows up a bit, just by family gene pool luck shes a strong little fucker and as she grows her family realises she's not just physically strong but strong willed too, it becomes a running joke that shes secretly part mule with how stubborn she can be :P

bright mac had a dog from when he was younger that he loved with all his heart, big mac loved him too but applejack thought was a grumpy old lump of a beast she just Did Not Like This Animal you know how kids can be lmaooo

applejack and big mac dont really leave the farm all that much, theyre homeschooled by their parents and granny smith so, generally they dont have that many friends their age in their childhood, they say hi and play a bit with fillies and colts they pass while helping out with deliveries, aj and rarity possibly have a few interactions through this but nothing really sticks at this point, they know each others names and thats probably it, the apple siblings are a big hit with usual customer and ponies who sell them things in the market

pear butter teaches aj how to play the guitar and she practices until her hooves hurt, her ma is very proud of her, they like to play duets when they have some alone time :] then, deciding to branch out from that applejack also picks up other instruments like the banjo and the fiddle, they find out she has quite a knack for music! (applejack is only slightly disappointed she doesnt get her cutie mark from it, but unlike applebloom would be in the future, she doesnt mind all that much, after all granny smith always said it'd come with time 😌)

not long after little applebloom is born we get the great seedling episode flashback which is a turning point in applejack, a moment like finding out santa or the tooth fairy isnt real, she matures a little bit that day, gains more of the work ethic we see in her as an adult

around this time is when bright mac and pear butter die :( i dont have a concrete headcanon on How they die but the dangerous trade routes the apples have to take to make deliveries may have had something to do with it, or maybe they were trying to protect the farm from something coming from the everfree forest, im not sure

the rest of the apple family make their way to sweet apple acres to give their condolences and help out in any way they can around the farm while our apples grieve :( its sad but it brings aj and big mac closer than they'd ever been

after shes recovered a little from that, i think aj kind of loses herself, i mean how can you not after losing both parents :(( so she decides to leave the farm in the hopes she'll be able to find herself again in manehattan, this is the cutie mark chronicles flashback and where she realises she belongs in ponyville, Runs home and gets her cutiemark

after a little bit, to help her become a little bit more social with foals her age, applejack goes to camp friendship where she meets little coloratura and the two Immediately click, aj gives her new best friend the nickname rara and they're practically inseparable the whole summer, their friendship starts to grow into something more but rara is heading back to manehatten after camp and applejack belongs back in ponyville, so they decide to give a lonb distance relationship a try, they manage to exchange letters back and forth for a long time, ultimately deciding a long distance relationship wasnt gonna work so they mutually decide to break up but still stay pen pals! after a while, the letters stop and they become just a memory in one anothers minds

sweet apple acres eventually returns to a business as usual state, with groups of relatives stopping by the farm now and again to give a helping hoof considering its now run by a late-middle aged lady, two children and a baby lol, applejack, while still doing a lot of tree bucking, is starting to take on a more maternal figure role in applebloom's life as well as being her sister, her and big mac feels more responsible and protective of the foal since she would be growing up with no ma and pa, they sort of took on those roles, applejack more intensely i guess i just see her as having strong maternal instincts embedded in her or something lol, but she for sure isnt "single mom"ing it, with granny smith and other relatives ready to take the little bugger when aj needs to get stuff done :P it takes a village and all that lmao

since at this time aj and big mac are starting to go into town more often and are free to do as they please as long as their chores get done, they start actually interacting more with teens their age in ponyville! applejack starts hanging out with fillies like rarity who she had known in passing but now could finally get to know and the cake's new apprentice and ponyvilles youngest party planner, pinkie pie

after starting to hit some awkward growth spurts as she reaches her teens lol, she starts taking an interest in the business side of the farmwork too, dealings with customers, looking into trade routes stuff like that, this is when the where the apple lies flashback takes place i fuckin love that episode please watch it, and this starts applejack's lifelong promise to never lie ever again which she keeps bc shes a legend as fuck <3

one day aj notices cloudsdale passing through probably to start preparing ponyville for the next season, and she hears a Thud coming from a row or two over from where she's working, she goes over to investigate to find a pegasus filly shaking off what aj can only assume was a crash, she asks if shes alright, n the filly is like of course i am im so tough toughest around actually thanks<3 and aj is internally like hm. this kids kinda annoying. they introduce themselves and applejack finds out rainbow dash is looking for her friend fluttershy, she likes to come down from cloudsdale to play with animals or something, but applejack hasnt seen any yellow pegasi fillies around so the little blue filly says thanks anyway and zips off at what aj can only describe as probably the speed of light, she somehow has a strange feeling this isnt gonna be the last she sees of this kid

she turns out to be right when shes invited to a happy visit to ponyville from cloudsdale party thrown for rainbow and fluttershy, apparently rainbow had bumped into pinkie while asking around ponyville for any idea where fluttershy and of course pinkie Had to make an event out of it once she had helped rainbow find her friend, the party was of course a lot of fun rainbow and aj somehow managed to turn every party game into a competition and despite their first impressions of one another they actually got along really well and gained a good amount of respect for each other, aj eventually found fluttershy sort of hiding away from most of the party and fluttershy actually opened up a little after talking with aj bc of how calming her presence was for her

over the next few years the five got to know each other quite well, anytime cloudsdale passed by rainbow and fluttershy would drop into ponyville to hang out or just say hi, and once they were old enough they moved into their ponyville houses and the five of them became just a regular friend group youd see hanging out on the streets of ponyville, fluttershy helps aj pick out a border collie puppy for help with wrangling critters on the farm (applebloom was getting too old to be sent off to mindlessly run after little animals all the time and she had started going to school so she wasnt around as much lmaoo) and just as a companion for applejack, she names her Winona :]

and then after those few years Twilight shows up! you know the rest from there :P

here’s the mane 6 all together. i went through a couple edits of them until i was happy with them and i think i’m finally set on them now!

fun facts below the cut

when they move in together, fluttershy stocks up on lint rollers. not for fur or dust that you’d expect to see due to her veterinary practice, but because pinkie tends to leave a trail of glitter and confetti. this is especially noticable when she’s bouncing around.

pinkie is an earth pony born with latent chaos magic. this is really rare and exhibited itself in strange ways when she was a foal. as a grown mare, she can control it better, even if it still catches people off guard on occasion.

fluttershy is a flutter pony purely because i heard jenny nicholson talk about it once and i got it stuck in my head. she’s very tall however, super willowy compared to earth ponies (as are most flutter ponies).

fluttershy is taller than both rarity and starlight glimmer, but it’s hard to tell as she keeps her head down and this makes her appear slightly smaller.

fluttershy runs the ponyville vet clinic and is an animal whisperer. she also patches up her more rambunctious friends from time to time.

fluttershy is the begrudging midwife to her friends because some of them are ridiculous and don’t go to the doctor when they should. she is very tired and deserves every cup of coffee she makes them buy her after the fact.

the flutter pony gene is more dominant than most other species genes, so if any non flutter pony and a flutter pony have a foal, it usually ends up being a flutter pony. the only exception are kirin.

rainbow dash is a trans mare

rainbow is the second shortest of the mane 6, barely taller than pinkie. don’t mention it or she’ll destroy your knee caps.

rainbow can also pack away calories like nopony else. do not challenge her to an eating contest or you’ll end up sick and regretting it.

apple jack is average earth pony height which means she’s dwarfed by her flutter and unicorn friends. twilight is on the smaller side of unicorns (as sunset shimmer).

aj is a disaster lesbian. she’s tripped into mud quite a few times around pretty mares. no, she does not want to talk about it.

aj is also well known in ponyville and beyond for being one of the best no holds barred wrestlers around. before she became a mom, she also did some mud wrestling. once she had her foals, she put that behind her if only because it took time away from farm work she didn’t have; she’s still jacked, however.

twilight sparkle is a hornless unicorn, a very rare birth defect. she had to deal with a lot of bullying growing up because of how mules and donkies tend to be the butt of the joke to the average pony. she also had to deal with her tail being stepped on a lot, so as an adult she keeps it tucked to her side.

despite her lack of horn, twilight still has magic abilities. they can be very wild and hard to control due to not having a horn conduit. she spends most of her young life learning how to handle this and becomes one of the most learned unicorns of her time.

twilight is asexual/demiromantic.

rarity is 1/4th mule and gets her long ears from her dad’s side of the family. this has been a topic of rumor amongst the other fashion moguls and like of manehatten. some have even gone so far as to say her horn is fake and other ridiculous claims. rarity would originally just scoff and act as if she couldn’t possibly be related to a mule, but eventually learns her lesson friendship story style after hearing similar rumors about twilight.

the two go on to help stop uhh fuckin discrimination against mules and donkies i guess?? holy shit i didn’t mean to make it a racial allegory but here i am fuck dude, anyway

on a different note, twilight is in a polyam relationship with rainbow dash and tempest shadow. she loves both her girls very much.

rarity is a disaster bi, but in a different way than apple jack. rarity is accidentally an embarrassing asshole to cute ponies and this is what lead to a lot of fights between rarity and other members of the mane 6. the only one who almost never took it to heart was pinkie because she could tell just how embarrassed rarity felt and that she wasn’t doing rude things intentionally. pinkie and eventually fluttershy help rarity stop being such a dunce around cute ponies.

rarity eventually stops dying her grey hair away. she does it out of anxiety, but eventually aj and her friends help her relax a little and understand that going grey isn’t going to mean she isn’t beautiful.

lyra and bonbon are happily married.

angel has a love/hate relationship with pinkie. she’s so nice and knows how to brush angel just right, but the mare is taking cuddle time with fluttershy away >:(

sunset shimmer is the shortest unicorn i’ve designed so far. she’s shorter than pinkie pie and is an absolute bitch. (i love her.) she is also married to starlight glimmer; they are the bitchy moms at PTA meetings who will destroy you <3

derpy hooves is named ditzy doo in my au. she’s a postpony and scrunchie collector.

dr hooves is named tick turner and he makes and repairs watches and clocks.

bulk biceps is a personal trainer. he breaks his coffee mugs a lot.

ditzy, tick, and bulk biceps are all dating each other in a polyam relationship. for their anniversary, ditzy and tick bought bulk some super nice metal cast mugs; bulk ended up crying a little because he’s a big emotional baby. they love him.

Chapter 5 reluctant companions

Rairty spoke up."excuse me darling what is the crazy stallion saying?"Twilight was spaced out for a moment trying to process what she had just done. Apon realizing Rairty was speaking she snapped back to reality."what oh Rairty. Sorry uh he was talking about me helping him to uh shit"She blinked, wincing as she couldn't get the thought of what she had just done out of her head. She didn't intend to create Rose fire in fact in that moment she had wanted to kill him to render the flesh from his bone, it was as if another creature had entered her head for a moment and fueled her rage."I think I have to go with him."before she could explain why."WHAT ARE YOU TAKING ABOUT HE JUST MESSED WITH YOU AND THE PRINCESSES HEADS!"rainbow yelled."I merely showed them what they wanted to know however to be honest I didn't expect this to happen. I had been looking for the rose fire in every world every terrifying, every cruel, and every unforgiving place in the Omniverse. But it turns out all I had to do was accidentally induced fear and rage into a horse."the pony stared at him for a moment."He's telling the truth and now that we know what's at stake we have no choice but to help."Celestia stated her tone was dark however as if she was doing something she wasn't so sure she wanted to."h-how long until it happens?"Boom and Celestia stared at each other for a moment. 3 boom was the first to enter the portal then Twilight followed by Pinky, rainbow,Applejack, rarity Fluttershy, and lastly young Spike. Boomlord looked down at himself. He was human again his blue jeans and thick yellow hoodie once again with him. Pulling back the sleeve he saw that the green fur that once covered his body was gone replaced with his light taned skin. Okay I hope everybody's ready for some exposition and descriptions. Boomlord looked back at the ponies first up was Twilight she had grown into a human form unsurprisingly. Her mane or I guess her hair had stayed the same she had fairly pale white skin and a few smalls freckles adorning her face she was also fairly short compared to Boom. Boom knew his height was about 5'7 give or take so Twilight had to be about 5'4 or 5'3 she wore a purple t-shirt and a darker purple skirt with pants to go with it all put together with very nice sneakers which all the girls have with the exception of rarity and Applejack. Pinky on the overhand was definitely much taller than Twilight in fact she was about the same height as boom. She wore a striped blue and pink shirt with a polka dot skirt and light pink leggings she had average white skin no major tan or anything although she did have pink nail polish on. Dash was next she still had her rainbow hair but she was on the shorter end with Twilight only being a inch or so taller along with fairly tanned skin as if she's been spending her days at the beach. She wore a plain blue sleeveless top and jean shorts her wings were also noticeably missing the same with Fluttershy. Speaking of Fluttershy her outfit was rather green she wore a green t-shirt with a yellow peace symbol on it and long jeans. Additionally in her hair she had is a flower crown witch she probably took off, besides that her skin was also fairly tanned. Applejack definitely took the show with her outfit she was wearing thick brown leather gloves and a brown leather vest with tassels on it. Underneath the vest was a plain white shirt covered in bits of brown dirt, and long stylish cowboy print jeans and good old-fashioned cowgirl boots. Applejack skin was also the most tanned being she was definitely the one who spent the most time outdoors. Also she and rainbow dash were the only ones with noticeable er muscle growth as even through their outfits they still kept their physical physique. Applejack and Fluttershy we're definitely the tallest of the group with Fluttershy being 5'8 and Applejack being at least 6'2.Lastly of the girls we have rarity wearing a clean white shirt with stylish blue diamond print in it, and a rather long dress to accompany it. Along her neck was a rather lovely diamond necklace and alot Lower down beautiful high heels. She also had the darkness pigment of her skin when compared to everyone else. Also sorry if that's not politically correct I'm not entirely sure what the correct term is now. Do feel free to let me know. As soon as the girls walk through the portal though most of them with the exception of Twilight who seemed almost familiar with the sensation of walking on two legs fell to the ground."oh no whats happing?"Pinky yelled and she started crawling on all fours along with Fluttershy. Dash and Applejack were occupied with balancing themselves on a desk next to them and rarity had somehow crawled her way to a sofa and dramatically pose."oh darling what has happened to us?"boomlord rolled his eyes as he knew he was going to have to teach them how to be human it also occurred to him where the hell was spike.

4 Then he saw it or well him. Unlike his fellow ponies Spike didn't turn into a human and no he did not turn into a dog. This isn't Equestria girls guys turning into a dog is really dumb and I already have one in the story. Spike's body had remained reptilian however he's noticeably taller now at least about Twilights size inner current form his body seemed to get longer and his claws along with it. His face has narrowed Abit becoming far more similar to his dragon freinds with the exception that he had a much longer neck which allowed him to survey his own body. Put it simply he looks more like what a small dragon would look like in our world if they existed."woah I look really cool!"spike yelled in excitement."ponies don't talk where I'm from so the portal has adjusted your body's to something a bit more familiar to me that I have set and in Spike's case I already had something in mind for dragons." Ponies now began to look around their surroundings. They notice they seemed to be in a rather decent sized living room a few desks a television ,yellow rug, a few lamps. The room seemed mostly normal only the walls and floor and ceiling all looked the same. It looks like the inside of a treehouse and where there was a window there was no... Well anything just an empty void."welcome to my home away from home a little place I made outside of the Omniverse and what I like to call free space, basically this entire place is an extension of a thought everything here with the exception of a few items were made from nothing. No magic and no magical effects can be taken here with the exception of the notepad so sorry girls but your wings and horns are temporarily unavailable don't worry when we go to other worlds you should be able to use them."Twilight rapidly blinked as she didn't expect well boom to look rather nice. He still had rather unkempt hair and the rings under the eyes but here the black in his eyes were gone however his irises remained red and gold. He had a warm smile or a warm fake smile and while definitely wasn't the biggest guy around he still had a rather fit physique. And the rarity was the first to comment on that"oh boom darling you look um..... Better than I would have thought."boom roll his eyes."well im far more comfortable like this."the girls who were having trouble standing took a few minutes to themselves to start copying the motions of Twilight who began pacing."uh hey are we safe here."like asked while moving around the girls who were rather surprised to see him as they did not expect such a change."spike looking badass today."rainbow dash teased.spike blushed slight as Boomlord spoke."well girls work going to have to set some ground rules since it looks like you'll be staying with me for a while."

IM LATE TO THE PONY SHIT but what'd you think of the later seasons? Especially that series finale,,,

I still need to do a full rewatch of those seasons tbh but my current impression of them is that they’re a little too fanservicey. I feel like seasons 2-4 handled the fandom’s existence really well, yknow? It definitely worked harder to appeal to a wider audience after they realized it was there, but they didn’t play it up too much. But after that i really feel like they started directly pandering to bronies and it was just... hmm... not great. I do acknowledge that my feelings on this could be influenced by nostalgia tho, again i’d like to do a rewatch of the series sometime so i can form a fresh opinion on it.

Finale was fine, iirc i didn’t really think it was any better than any of the other Big Episodes but the final song does make me fuckin bawl lmao.. But Twilight’s princess design is lazy and stupid and i hate it :/ Appledash is like...fine i’ll take it i guess but rarijack was right there. Still mad about Fluttercord because it was such a good concept but they really ruined Discord as a character so now he’s like this emotionally abusive manchild and i haaaate him he doesn’t deserve Fluttershy >:( Cheesepie is the only endgame ship i’m happy with but they did manage to fuck up their kid with the laziest design ever :/ Like he’s cute and all but... come on

I don't know how to handle the idea that Fluttershy's a unicorn, Twilight's an earth pony, and Pinkie Pie's a pegasus. What the fuck. That's. God fuck. That's cursed as shit and I don't know if I appreciate that or not.

Hey how do u feel about the mlp leaks???

I haven’t looked too much into them because I don’t Really want to get upset about it but idk I’ve kinda got mixed feelings. Spoilers for those who don’t wanna see stuff about the leaks under the cut

On one hand it would be nice to see the series rebooted and start over fresh with more planning and whatnot, but on the other hand I’m afraid they’ll change too much of what’s good about the show now yknow? Also idk from what ive seen it feels a little weird to reboot the series so soon after ending g4

The potential redesigns are interesting, though I’m not sure what the thought process behind making fluttershy a unicorn was, but she looks nice. Twilight is nice too and her being an earth pony is growing on me... but I don’t like how they changed her cutie mark.Applejack is kinda. ???? like I’m okay with the white socks n whatever but what the fuck is that hair man. shes a farmer that shit is so disfunctional. please for the love of god change it hasbro.I’m liking Rarity okay, but once again I hate the fuckin hair its just. So much my dude. tone it down a little please :S

I’m pretty dissapointed to hear g5 is planned to be CGI instead of flash animation. FiMs animation was one of the big charm points of the series for me and idk how they’ll be able to match that with CGI. Like I’ve certainly seen CGI animation done well but I highly doubt a tv show like mlp is going to have top-quality stuff :/

The Bronycon 2017 big text post!

This is the longest thing I ever write but here is my of the 2017 Bronycon.

Lets get to it. 

Thursday:

We met at Bill's house so we could travel down in two groups, since we had too many people to fit in one car. (8 of us, Me, Andrew, Justin and Ethan in one car, Kyle, Bill, Nick and Josh in another.) We managed to pretty much stay together and stopped at the same gas station together. It was the good-hot dog speedway. They only had two left and everyone looked at me like I was crazy for wanting gas station hot dogs. I ate those two and asked if they had any more. They totally did. I intended to eat a couple more but NOPE. Everybody else decided to try the gas station hotdogs and doubled up. Oh well, it was kinda funny. The next stop was Baltimore. There was crazy construction in the city, atleast around our hotel. Slowed us down a bit. Justin really had to use the bathroom, so he jumped out of the car in still traffic and went into a nearby subway rather than waiting until we got to the hotel. As soon as he did, traffic moved, like we thought it would. It was easy to direct him from there to the hotel though. They had the special keys, but there wasn't a wifi password this year. I'm a Marriott member so I got free wifi anyway though. We hung around for a bit and went to get our badges. Went pretty quick for us basic pass holders, only like 45 minutes. Not bad at all. Deposited our con things at the hotel. Went to Dick's Last Resort. Nick decided he wanted to arm wrestle me for some reason. I won. Of course the waiter saw this so he challenged me. I lost pretty quick, he was large. Might have been better had I not planted my elbow on the goddamn laminated menu, but what can you do? The funniest part was when he brought our drinks, he brought one. Left the others at the station thingy. I got up and got just mine. Then everyone else slowly did it. It was funny. Managed to place a Pokemon on the gym there too. Didn't last that long but was nice anyway. Then we went to Fells Point. Everybody went to a ramen shop but I decided to go to the bar trot early. I was the only one to actually sign up for it in our group. The original company running the bar trot apparently closed. I didn't know there wasn't to be one until a month before, and then I noticed a new company doing it but it was definitely very last minute for them. There were only two bars participating, neither of them being the admiral, which seemed kinda lame. However the Admiral, being awesome as it as, participated ANYWAY. They had the themed drink including the Great and Powerful Trixie. Drank a fuckton of it. They also had a Pinkie Pie and Applejack themed drink that I saw. Then the bartender made a Rainbow Dash drink by combining them all. It was fuckin' awesome. We then went to the Soundgarden because apparently it's just right there and back to the hotel for bed.

 Friday:

 I got up relatively early, think I actually got almost 8 hours of sleep. Decided to bring my bad Derpy cosplay. Product of a 3$ costume store clearance wing/ear/tail set and a shirt photo transfer. I actually went to opening ceremonies because A. I woke up for it on time, B. I didn't want to just book it to the vendor hall.  It was neat, maybe I'll try to do opening ceremonies again. After that, I got to meet up with a group of people from a Scisetdaily (a really cute Sciset tumblr askblog thingy) discord server I joined, which was really cool. We hung out and ate some con food before we split off to do other things. I went to the vendor hall at this point and wandered. Bought one of the cool engraved lighters. It has Princess Luna on it. I also got some 4de plushies (Specifically Fluttershy and Trixie), a fantastic JoJo shirt and some a couple Cutie Corral plushies. Specifically the comic universe reverse world princesses. Apparently its their last year doing cons : (. Comics hadn't been set up yet so I held off on that. Then I bought an absolutely adorable Derpy playmat. Also I got to see something neat. The MyLittleTies booth had A VR demo for the occulus rift where you could wander around Ponyville. It was really cool, even though I had to take my glasses off I could still see well enough for it to be cool. And yes I totally want an occulus rift for this reason.... Sad my computer won't support it. It was sort of disorienting, but I'm sure if I used VR more, I'd get used to it. After this I went to the hotel and deposited my things and headed to the Fursuit photoshoot with a couple friends. Next was the CMC VA panel which was cool. I like the VA panels. I kinda just wandered around again after that before going back to the main hall. I was going to watch the comic creators panel, but the adjacent room had a tesla coil set up and i really wanted to watch them go. Ultimately ended up watching the tesla coils go cause I needed to charge my phone and that is where an outlet was. Caught the end of the comic panel though. I hate when two panels I want to see conflict. Ate some more con food and did a bunch of wandering. Went back to the hotel and switched to a normal shirt and prepped for bronypalooza. Hung out in the other room and played some splatoon2. Really wanted to see Vylet. His set was fuckin awesome. Other acts were really cool too. A lot more electronic music than usual for that early in the night. Then I did something different. Rather than stay at the palooza, I met up with everyone and went to the Anthology 6 panel. Fuckin hysterical. Everyone else went back to the hotel and I went back to the palooza to catch Silva Hound's set. Then went back to the hotel and went to sleep.

 Saturday: Decided last minute to bring my Chrysalis cosplay. Ran into the guy I met at an Otakon a few years back, which was cool. I went to the vendor hall first. The comic booth had a box of variant covers for 5$ each. I dropped 60$ on comics. Then I found a Madoka playmat. I also got Bill to grab a movie playmat for me when they went to the vendor hall day 1. I got like 3 mats. I mostly just wandered and observed. Saw a dakimakura that was real funny bud I didn't want to drop 100 at that time. It was a cartoon-y chrysalis laying on a fuzzy pink background and that fuzzy pink background was Fluffllepuff. Next I got to meet up with the cool people from the internet again and we went to the Kelly Sheridan and Kyle Rideout panel as one big group. I thought of a q&a question but by that point the line was to infinity and I knew there was no way, perhaps another time. Once that ended I grabbed some food and went to the crystal arena. Bill and Josh wanted to see how the game had changed and see what the game was like now. They were running a novice tournament that was 10$ you got a deck to play with and two packs and at the end. It was neat learning the game again. It sounds like it really became good. They streamlined it a lot. Went to another fursuit photoshoot. Then we went back and got ready for palooza. I stayed the entire time this time. Really liked Michelle Creber and BlackGryph0n’s set. Chilled out and sat for one of the acts with Andrew and Ethan, needed to save my legs which were super sore. It was fantastic. Got to see Garnika, he's probably my favorite of all the regular artists there. I bought one of his shirts. Although I heard this might have been his last Bronycon? Infinite sadness if thats true. This is about when Kyle and Josh showed up. I also got a message that the fire alarm went off at the hotel. Everybody there had a clusterfuck, Justin slept through it. Turns out someone was vaping or smoking or some nonsense. then Andrew and Ethan returned in time for the end of Garnika's set and Alex S. Was a great time.

 Sunday: Waking up was a bit rough since I hadnt gotten to bed until like 330-4. I wanted to go the VA panel but it was at 10 am (Goddamn who DOES that) but I was way to tired to get out of bed on time. I caught the end of it though! Then I went to the vendor hall. I was trying to avoid buying prints, but guess what. Bought so many goddamn prints. Again. Fuck. Oh well. I've tetris'd my walls before and I can totes do it again. Was trying to buy other neat things. I did too. I got a lazer etched geode slice and an edge lit acrylic pane. I really just hung out in the vendor hall with various people and looked at things. Also Nick got me a commission from an artist named Baron Engle. It's Lapis and Peridot as ponies in his style. Really fucking cool. Also bought another glass. Fluttershy this time. Was hoping one of the bands was gonna be at the Bronypalooza table but they weren't. Also had a print ordered to be shipped to me cause one of the print places printer broke. (There are certain booths that will sell art on behalf of the artists that can't be there.) Also bought a little digital nametag thing. It's pretty cool. I gotta get a cord to hook it up to the computer though. Wandered the con a little bit then deposited stuff at the hotel. We went to closing ceremonies after that. Ran into Garnika on the way there which was neat. Before it started we were playing music and everyone was just kinda goofing around. Closing ceremonies were cool. They said they were short 219 from their 33000 charity goal. So they asked the crowd if they could do that and SO MANY people got up to give them money (myself included). Turns out they made like 1200 $ They were then 10 short from 34k, and someone gave them 10$ We got our annual group photo and then headed to the Inner Harbor for some food and to play some Pokemon Go. Went to Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. Place remains to be fucking fanstastic. Shrimpers Heaven is the best. While we waited for a table we managed to find a whole bunch of cool pokemon, Even did a Machamp raid. Found a fuckin Sandshew, Totodile and Mantine as well. Those are all things I've never seen around here ever. The Bronycon gym was blue so we couldn't do it yet decided to try later. I also evolved my first Gyrados. I decided to do it down there because that's where I essentially started my game. Went around an played some more Pokemon after dinner. The bronycon gym had changed but unfortunately the game broke real hard, we managed to get it down after a half hour of error-ing out a game crashes. Then we should have had it but it turned yellow in the clusterfuck. And no one had it in them to stand there for another half hour of broken game to beat one Blissey. We went back the next day but it had once again turned blue so we never got on it. Then we all went back to the hotel and watched the newest Rick and Morty while packing. Got our shit together and slept.

 Monday: We got up and hung out before loading vehicles. Checkout and hotel exiting was pretty easy. Decided to hang around in the inner harbor for a bit. Got lunch at an Irish pub in the pavilion. Yay for pub burgers and vodka cranberries! Then went to do a raid. A bunch of us went to get ice cream, but I went to the bigass Barnes and Noble instead. I had been looking for the Daring Do books at the con but no one had them. Barnes and Noble had one of the ones I was missing. After all that we walked back and headed out. We tried to stay together but traffic was nonsensical so it was hard. Unfortunately a rock flew up and cracked Kyle's windshield. Minor but still annoying. We  met up one last time in Wilkes-Barre at a Sheetz. I got some 2 for a dollar hot dogs and they were not good. After hanging out some they left about 15 minutes before us. We thought it'd be funny if we managed to pass them since they had such a ridiculously long head start and guess what? We totally did. It was funny. Got home after that.

 Overall:

             It was a good fucking time. Usually is. Bought some neat stuff. Got to meet some cool people from the internet. (Honestly, if any of y'all are reading this, even though it wasn't for that long at any given point you were all cool to meet and hang out with. I hope we get to again sometime.) It's honestly been a while since I've done that. It's funny, despite having done this the last 5 years, I don't feel at all burned out. Though next year, I think I'm going to do something different for my usual con photography. I'm going to shoot everything in black and white. (I accidentally left my camera in black and white mode for my first shot) I want to see how that makes things different.  

 (Also as always my memory is pretty butthole, and I essentially wrote this twice, so there might be errors and things I missed or got in the wrong order.)

I love how you draw the varying pony races so differently, I was wondering if there was any particular thought process that went into designing them? i Have made a similar post to this in the past but uhuhhuh i want to do it AGAIN >:] some things im gonna say are headcanons or just my general interpretations for the pony types, i dont think any of em are like. controversial at all but i just thought id clarify jic anyones like "no theyre not!!11!!1" lol

now into my convoluted horse thoughts HJGFHG i went a lot more in depth than my last one i think lmaooo

ill start w earth ponies bc they are the blueprint<3 and also my favs lol. earth ponies are naturally the strongest breed of pony, so my designs for them are more Built and stocky than the others, im not sure why i decided their heads should be taller, so both eyes are usually visible, i guess it makes them look a bit more Structured if you get what i mean? their hooves are the most exposed of the three because they use them for pretty much everything, (w some exceptions that they use their mouths for lol) for all the manual labour and stuff they need to do and just like. walking around sm uknow lol. the fur around their hooves can vary just based on how I personally think theyd style it, so for instance take applejack, i dont really think shed Do much with hers other than trim it and move on since shes very much function over form, but with pinkie pie, her fur is styled in a rounder way, honestly mostly on my part because it goes with the rest of her generally round design :P but i imagine that as a filly hers was trimmed flat since her parents seem very prim and working on a rock farm having hair in the way of your hooves which youre using to sort through probably sometimes very fine rubble doesnt make sense. and the Fun part: their general shapes, i love using the shapes in a character to signify personality and whatnot, so AJ is a sturdy workhorse whos been on a farm her whole life, shes also what i feel is a very reliable and stable presence in her friends lives so i make her Huge and rectangluar to signify those kinds of things? pinkie on the other hand is a fun loving party planner who lives in the town bakery! she also spent a significant portion of her life on a rock farm so, she's also very sturdy in typical earth pony fashion but she's also on the shorter end of my mane 6 lineup, this is bc i feel that all the pies are p short bc if theyve mined for a living (seemingly for generations) itd make more sense for them to be little to fit better into underground structures and whatnot, but pinkie herself is round and bouncy to fit her fun-loving bubbly personality! and ofc bc she LOVES all of the cakes at sugarcube corner :P

pegasi are generally the most lithe and athletic of the breeds, due to their near constant usage of their wings in everyday life. all my pegasi looka like fuckin sock puppets(affectionate) fkjdgfd uhh because it makes them feel way more aerodynamic to me, like if youre gonna be going at any kind of Speed up there youre gonna need the least amount of wind resistance possible, this is also why theyre generally the shortest type of pony, less animal for those little wings to heave around lmao. their hooves are completely covered in fur because i wanted to make them look soft, as if they actually could stand on clouds, their hooves are the most delicate of the breeds as theyre not Really designed to be on the ground at all, but they can build up a tolerance over time! ive sort of been playing with the idea that fluttershy's hooves are very slightly visible bc of her line of work? idk tho lol. pegasi ears are the shortest of all the breeds for aerodynamic purposes and theyre very fluffy on the insides to prevent unwanted stuff getting in while theyre in the air :] the fluffy feathers can also appear around the sides of the pegasi's heads n the amount can vary SHAPES!! rainbow dash is pretty obvious, shes small lithe and her head is flat as a pancake, snout All Forward, no extra feathers her wings are longer, more pointed i guess, shes a speedster!! she needs to be Smooth and little to be as fast as she can be >:P and for fluttershy, shes shy and more into herself, she can be quite awkward so to show this her snout is turned down and more curved, shes also fairly tall and gangly for a pegasus, she has fluffy feathers around her head and her wings are more round and fluffy, theyre shorter than RD's but theyre wider, better built for gliding than speed i guess

unicorns are honestly Fully like. ornamental physically. theyre pretty shitty at most physical activities but thats because they become reliant on their magic for most everyday things, they all have a pointed snout to exhibit that fact too lol some are curved some are just straight up triangles just based on what i think their vibes are lmao. their hooves are mostly covered in fur with the exception of the fronts which shows off the fact that theyre cloven, its sort of a half and half kind of situation with it half being because i wanted to it to look kinda decorative but also it could be because that, They Are on the ground at all times like earth ponies, Unlike earth ponies however, they arent built in a way that favours the sorts of manual labour that EP's would be used to, again, theyd use their magic for anything like that. their horns vary slightly in size and shapes, my thoughts behind this dont make a lot of sense but in my canon, the better a unicorn is at magic, like the more powerful, the longer and thinner the horn, so unicorns like rarity who only use their horns for stuff like levitation or like sunburst just arent That gifted in the magic department their horns are thicker than those who can do more advanced magic or just have stronger magic innately ilke starlight have thinner and longer horns, whether a unicorns horn is curved or not has no bearing on their like. magical ability its just a stylistic thing on my part so no trixie isnt shit a magic bc her horns bent LMAO. also their tails are. theres a word for it hold on. is it prehensile?? icr but its the shit where its like a cats tail but w mane-like fur on the end, these also vary in length and thickness those are also vibe based lmao. their ears are the longest of the breeds and they have curled fur on the insides of em, they can be rounded or pointed on the top. i dont rlly feel like i need to explain rarity shes pointed and neat all over like youd expect a prissy, wanting to seem upper class unicorn would be, i made her on the fatter side because i feel like its fitting, and also both of her parents were that way too, i feel like it could be genetic too

alicorns were kind of difficult to like. 'deal with' ?? i guess because having to combine all three of these things i had set rules out for was kinda difficult but, i just kinda wing it lmao. so with celestia and luna (while im still working on their designs) we dont really know how they originated but i sorta landed a sort of a stereotypical alien-like design for them? ig its bc theyre like. sort of foreign and different to their subjects?? whereas with twilight shes just a very recent alicorn and so her body is still adjusting to the features she gained by aquiring earth pony and pegasus magic so the differences are more.. obvious i guess?? but with her Base being unicorn those traits are the strongest in her design, and i havent drawn cadence yet but hers will be in a similar way but since she was a pegasus first her pegasus traits will be more apparent, but as shes grown more than twilight she'll be in sort of a transitional look? thats closer to celestia and luna's alicorn specific design i guess? flurryheart's design, i was kind of just thinking she was entirely just a fluffy alagamation of all three breeds rather than just immediate alicorn, i guess because since she was born an alicorn, her genes weren't entirely sure of what to do since she's the first natural born alicorn but as she grows she'll take on the alicorn shape? or not idk lol. alicorns in general uhh their ears are REALLY big versions of their base forms' with traits from the other two breeds obv, and their their horns are Long since alicorn magic is more potent and therefore just naturally more powerful so. long horn. their hooves are what their base breed's looked like but, again, with the others features their tails are prehensile(?) like unicorns but the mane like hair that comes off of it not only comes off the end but extends the full way up the bottom of the tail uhh idk if i missed anything but thats. p much it i guess!!

with combo babies like the cake twins, i just kind of mash the two species together in a way i think looks best lol like they both have the structured earth pony heads but pound has the long pegasus snout and pumpkin has an upward turned pointed unicorn snout and their hooves are more exposed like an earth ponies :P
