Okay so. So so so. Y'all remember the Vincent fanzine I helped to mod, Chaos Theory? It earned a little under $3500 and we donated just shy of $1500, giving over 40% of the project's gross revenue to charity. Another fanzine I contributed to earned about $5400 and donated a little under $1900, around 35% of the project's gross revenue.

This seems...correct, to me? These are charity projects, earning money for charity is the most important part. (The second-most important part is love of the theme/character/source material/etc., but I've talked about that before.)

That One Fanthology™ has finally made its donation, three years into the lifespan of the project. Thrilled that they actually managed to finish (with a product that barely resembles what was advertised, but that's neither here nor there). The finance data they've shared shows that the project earned over $24000, which is really impressive, and donated…just over $2100.

No, that's not a typo. $2100. Two thousand one hundred dollars.

The project's final donation is less than 9% of its gross revenue.

This project bills itself as existing for the explicit purpose of raising money for charity, but poured five times the funding into production as they did into the donation. They donated less than half again what my little couldn't-even-get-60-preorders niche fanzine was able to donate, while being cut from almost seven times the earnings.

Charity project my fucking ASS.

Chapters overall i have NO idea, i just know that we are only still in the beginning-- hunger au has a LOT more story to tell. For the arc we're in, Arc 1, id say barring me splitting chapters again, we've got about maybe 3 more including chap 11. So ideally, Arc 1 will end on chap 13 :]

Progress has admittedly kinda ground to a halt as the zine im hosting is a month out from release!!! So im in crunch mode, i have a LOT to do for it including finishing a small oneshot of my own 😭😭😭😭 basically every other hobby in my life has been put on hold until this project has been finished, but man when i tell u that its SO WORTH IT i am not even remotely exaggerating. i seriously hope everybody will check it out on its release because me, my team, and all of our contributors have poured our blood and sweat into this story for yall :]

But rest assured i have not lost motivation for hunger au!!! Im thinking about it all the time, and poking at chap 11 when i can!! Once the zine is finished, i'll return the bulk of my attention to it again❤️🫡

Hi there! You can check this ask, as well as our ABOUT and our CARRD in general, for answers on what a zine is and what ours is about!

As a quick overview, though, this blog is for the promotion of and updates on our fanthology HOTGUY COMICS, a collaborative anthology of comics, oneshots, and illustrations telling the stories of Hotguy and Cuteguy throughout their superhero careers.

Our fanthology is separate from other existing aus, so you can look forward to diving into an entirely new world once it releases on August 25th! Thank you for the question, and we hope you enjoy it when it comes out soon!

If you haven’t heard, this completely free digital zine made by Rain Code fans will be releasing on June 30th! I and many other talented contributors have been working hard on illustrations, fanfics, emotes, and printable goodies to share with all of you. If you’re a fan of the game, you’ll love what we’ve put together for you!

My contribution to this fanthology project is a fully-colored 4-page comic, featuring Vivia reminiscing on the events of the game and the DLC, waxing poetic on life and death and umbrellas, through the lens of the classic Japanese novel, Night on the Galactic Railroad.
