Which Software's are Used in Fashion Design Course?
Tumblr media
Fashion design courses have become increasingly popular as the fashion industry continues to expand and evolve. With the rise of technology, many fashion design courses now include training on software programs that are commonly used in the industry. Here are some of the most popular software programs used in fashion design courses:
Adobe Photoshop:
Adobe Photoshop is a powerful photo editing software that is used extensively in fashion design courses. It allows designers to create and edit digital images, as well as manipulate and adjust colors, textures, and other visual elements.
Adobe Illustrator:
Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics editor that is often used in fashion design courses to create technical drawings and vector-based images. It is a popular choice for creating fashion sketches and illustrations.
AutoCAD:
AutoCAD is a computer-aided design (CAD) software that is used in many industries, including fashion design. It allows designers to create detailed 2D and 3D models, as well as create technical drawings and plans.
CLO 3D:
CLO 3D is a 3D fashion design software that allows designers to create virtual garments and simulate the way they will look and move on a model. It is becoming increasingly popular in fashion design courses as it allows designers to create realistic 3D garments without the need for physical prototypes.
Gerber Technology:
Gerber Technology is a software suite designed specifically for the fashion and apparel industry. It includes a variety of tools for design, pattern-making, grading, and marker-making, making it a popular choice for fashion design courses.
These are just a few examples of the software programs used in the fashion design courses. As technology continues to advance, it is likely that new software programs will be developed specifically for the fashion industry, further expanding the options available to aspiring fashion designers.

Education and Training tips for Fashion Designers
Tumblr media
Embarking on a career in fashion design is an exhilarating journey filled with creativity, innovation, and endless possibilities. Whether you're a budding designer with a passion for style or a seasoned professional looking to refine your skills, investing in education and training is essential for success in the dynamic and competitive world of fashion. In this blog, we'll explore valuable tips and insights to help aspiring fashion designers navigate their educational journey and master the craft, with guidance from IIFD - Indian Institute of Fashion & Design to support your growth and development.
Pursue Formal Education:
While innate talent and creativity are essential qualities for fashion designers, formal education provides the foundation and technical skills needed to excel in the industry. Consider enrolling in a reputable fashion design program at a recognized institution or university, where you can learn essential skills such as patternmaking, draping, sewing, and textile design. Look for programs that offer a comprehensive curriculum, experienced faculty, and opportunities for hands-on learning and real-world experience.
Embrace Lifelong Learning:
Fashion design is a constantly evolving field, with new trends, technologies, and techniques emerging all the time. Embrace a mindset of lifelong learning and seek out opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills through workshops, courses, seminars, and industry events. Stay abreast of current trends, innovations, and best practices in fashion design by reading industry publications, following influential designers on social media, and attending fashion shows and exhibitions.
Hone Your Technical Skills:
Technical proficiency is essential for success in fashion design, whether it's mastering patternmaking software, perfecting sewing techniques, or experimenting with textile manipulation. Dedicate time to honing your technical skills through practice, experimentation, and hands-on projects. Take advantage of workshops, tutorials, and online resources to learn new techniques and explore different approaches to design. The more proficient you become in technical skills, the more freedom you'll have to express your creativity and bring your designs to life.
Develop Your Design Aesthetic:
Developing a distinct design aesthetic is essential for standing out in a crowded industry and building a cohesive and recognizable brand identity. Take the time to explore different styles, themes, and inspirations that resonate with your personal interests and creative vision. Experiment with different materials, textures, colors, and silhouettes to develop a signature style that sets you apart from other designers. Your design aesthetic should reflect your unique perspective, cultural influences, and artistic sensibility, allowing you to create collections that are authentic and compelling.
Gain Practical Experience:
While formal education provides a solid foundation in fashion design theory and technique, gaining practical experience is equally important for honing your craft and preparing for a career in the industry. Seek out internships, apprenticeships, or entry-level positions with fashion brands, design houses, or retailers to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting. Not only will practical experience enhance your skills and industry knowledge, but it will also provide valuable insights into the day-to-day realities of working in fashion design.
Build Your Portfolio:
Your portfolio is your most powerful tool for showcasing your skills, creativity, and design aesthetic to potential employers, clients, or collaborators. Invest time and effort into building a strong and diverse portfolio that highlights your best work, including sketches, technical drawings, mood boards, and completed projects. Tailor your portfolio to showcase your strengths and areas of expertise, whether it's womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, or accessories. Regularly update your portfolio with new projects and achievements to demonstrate your growth and development as a designer.
Conclusion:
Education and training are essential pillars of success for aspiring fashion designers, providing the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to thrive in a competitive industry. By pursuing formal education, embracing lifelong learning, honing technical skills, developing a distinct design aesthetic, gaining practical experience, and building a strong portfolio, aspiring designers can position themselves for success and unlock their full potential in the dynamic world of fashion. Step into the World of Fashion: The Power of Design Education
Tumblr media
The world of fashion is a captivating realm that has the power to transform lives, challenge norms, and inspire creativity. Behind every stunning runway show, groundbreaking collection, and iconic fashion moment lies the expertise and vision of talented designers. While some may believe that a flair for fashion is an innate gift, the truth is that design education plays a pivotal role in shaping and nurturing the skills necessary to succeed in this competitive industry. Step into the world of fashion and discover the transformative power of design education.
One of the most significant advantages of design education in the fashion industry is the acquisition of essential technical skills. Fashion design goes beyond sketching beautiful garments. It requires an understanding of fabric properties, garment construction techniques, pattern-making, and sewing. Design education provides aspiring fashion professionals with a structured learning environment where they can master these fundamental skills. Through hands-on projects, workshops, and mentorship from industry experts, students gain practical knowledge that forms the foundation of their craft.
Moreover, design education offers a platform for exploration and experimentation. Fashion is a dynamic art form that thrives on innovation and pushing boundaries. Within the walls of design schools and programs, students are encouraged to think creatively, challenge conventions, and explore their unique design aesthetics. They have the freedom to experiment with different materials, colors, textures, and silhouettes, enabling them to develop their own signature styles. This creative exploration is essential for designers to stand out in a crowded industry and make their mark.
In addition to technical skills and artistic development, design education equips aspiring fashion professionals with industry knowledge and insights. Fashion is not solely about creating beautiful garments; it is a complex and ever-evolving industry influenced by cultural, social, and economic factors. Design education provides students with a comprehensive understanding of fashion history, trends, marketing, branding, and consumer behavior. This knowledge helps designers make informed decisions and ensures their creations are culturally relevant and resonate with their target audience.
Design education also fosters crucial professional skills that are vital for success in the fashion industry. Collaboration, communication, and project management are essential skills that enable designers to work effectively with teams, clients, and manufacturers. Through group projects, critiques, and presentations, students learn to articulate their design concepts, receive feedback, and refine their work. These experiences mirror real-world scenarios, preparing students for the demands and challenges they will encounter in their professional careers.
Furthermore, design education provides valuable networking opportunities. Fashion programs often invite guest speakers, industry professionals, and alumni to share their experiences and insights. These interactions allow students to build connections and forge relationships within the industry. Such connections can lead to internships, mentorship opportunities, and even job offers. Design schools also frequently organize fashion shows, exhibitions, and events that serve as platforms for students to showcase their work and gain exposure. These opportunities not only build confidence but also provide valuable industry exposure that can open doors to future career opportunities.
It's important to note that design education is not limited to traditional academic institutions. With the advent of online learning platforms and specialized fashion academies, aspiring designers have more options than ever before. Online courses and workshops offer flexibility and accessibility, allowing individuals to learn at their own pace and from the comfort of their homes. These platforms often feature experienced industry professionals as instructors, providing valuable insights and mentorship.
Enroll in one of the top fashion design colleges in India. Fashion design program at IIFD is create to learn more about the evolution of fashion design through the decades and start your journey towards a career in the fashion industry.
Conclusion
Stepping into the world of fashion is an exciting and rewarding journey, and design education is the key to unlocking its transformative power. From acquiring technical skills to fostering creativity, industry knowledge, and professional development, design education sets aspiring fashion professionals on a path toward success. It empowers individuals to bring their unique visions to life, make a mark in the industry, and contribute to the ever-evolving world of fashion. Batman my little pony AU. Part 2 here, Part 3 here
More info on these under the cut!
1. Sundown Mane/Batpony (Bruce Wayne)
His backstory & general situation is pretty much identical to every other batman out there so I wont get into it.
Other notes:
-His cutie mark is a masquerade mask that I tried to make vaguely bat-shaped. The general public sees his Cutie Mark through the lense of his reputation, and he leans into it heavily to obscure the truth. In interviews, he presents it as being tied to hosting galas (it’s the reason he started hosting those huge masquerade balls in the first place) and/or his fashionable looks, but in truth it’s far more representative of his stealth and disguise capabilities, as well as his masked night time hobbies as a whole.
-He’s not an actual bat-pony in any way, the bat wing appearance is just the costume (intentionally designed that way for intimidation, battle, and obscuring his identity further). Though most citizens assume he’s a true bat-pony, other rumors range from him being a vampire, to an Earth pony with false tech-based wings, to a magically disguised alicorn, to a spirit of the night.
-If Batman were actually to be a pony I think he’d 100% be an earth pony, because his big thing is relying on skill and tech rather than power and he has the whole “normal guy amongst gods” thing going on. HOWEVER. There are actual bat ponies in this show. How am I not supposed to utilize that somehow for the guy whose name is BATMAN? Also with Sundown I think being a Pegasus just fits the playboy personality front he puts up. I don’t know why, its just vibes.
-I think he just doesn’t fly much while patrolling as batpony, instead using his wings for extra jump or for intimidation and cover like with his cape. They’re probably steel-tipped or something too. He doesn’t rely on flight for advantage and trains entirely grounded because he doesn’t want to be dependent on flight and find himself lost if his wings are ever incapacitated.
2. Apollo Honeyscales/Two-Face (Harvey Dent)
Fascinated by the Equestrian legal system and craving a more organized society than what was offered by his generally disorderly and solitary fellow Chimeras, Apollo moved to Gotham to pursue higher education. Unfortunately, ponies are often intimidated by, if not downright terrified of Chimeras, so though Chimera cultures usually give each head equal social weight and three individual names, Apollo quickly adapted to instead try to present himself as pony-like as possible. He used a singular name and pronoun for his whole body, presented the less intimidating, herbivorous-looking goat as his “main” head, and eventually even took to having a faux Cutie Mark applied for media and court appearances. Prior to the attack, the lion and the snake head were never seen talking in public, and even in private the only ponies to have heard them speak were his close friends Sundown Mane and Glider Gold.
After being attacked with acid in court, Scales succumbed to injury and had to be amputated, while Honeybite was left alive but severely scarred. With this event, Apollo’s and Honeybite’s already fragile mental states from years of pony society othering them, the weight of their job, and personal repression finally snapped in their grief and anger, leading Honeybite to fully take the reins and create the criminal persona of Two-Face. Attempts from both Sundown and Glider and to reach out since have been unsuccessful.
Other Notes:
-According to the wiki only one chimera shows up in the whole show so. I made stuff up. -Chimeras typically being solitary is based on the fact we only ever see one in the show. This solitary nature would make it hard for them to have a widespread legal system at all, let alone to enforce it; thus Apollo’s original fascination with the foreign pony legal system. The Chimera in the show also has individual names for each head, each with a slightly different style (the goat following pony name conventions with the name Pumpkin Cake, the tiger following a slightly more violent version of pony name conventions with the name Sweetkill, and the Snake bluntly just being named Snakey). I tried to follow similar conventions for Apollo. I was most happy with the name Scales, because it followed the blunt snake naming convention while also sort of doubling as a scales of justice reference. Apollo is just a reference to Harvey’s nickname in some of the comics, and Honeybite is just for fun.
-His perfectly split coat is unique even among other chimeras, and as Apollo he was generally considered attractive and “exotic” by Equestrian media outlets.
-The temporary Cutie Mark application was done professionally. (Surely ponies have perfected this art, right? Like this has to be something pony society does and has services for, right? Ponies covering up embarrassing Cutie Marks, blank flanks covering up an embarrassing lack of a Curie Mark, Ponies getting Cutie Marks done for costumes, theater, movies, etc… you get it.) Apollo’s choice of a faux Cutie Mark is meant to serve as both a way of further integrating himself into pony society and a proclamation of his legal skills.
-Apollo was a genuinely great lawyer. Ponies on defense were often so preoccupied at the terror of having a lion and a snake silently stare them down that they wouldn’t realize it was actually the goat they should’ve really been afraid of until their entire case had already been ruthlessly torn to shreds.
3. Glider Gold (Gilda Gold)
Even prior to their relationship and subsequent engagement, Glider had long been Apollo’s closest friend and confidant. She saw the way his job and keeping up his image was tearing him apart long before the acid attack, and she deeply regrets not trying harder to get him the help he needed before it was too late. Multiple news outlets have been trying to get an interview with her and their efforts only increase every time Two-Face shows up in the news (despite Sundown’s efforts to dissuade them). She hasn’t been the same since the attack and Apollo’s disappearance, losing interest in her work and finding her friendship with Sundown heavily strained as they both feel the weight of Apollo’s absence.
Other notes:
-I wasn’t even going to draw Gilda originally because she’s such a minor character in Batman stuff but as I was writing out Apollo’s background she nudged her way back in. I like her too much.
-This version is based on her very first iteration where she was a sculptor. Her green coat is a reference to that version’s accompanying Two-Face (also his first iteration), who had green scarring.
- The choice for her to be a pegasus was mainly just to go with her silly name, but I do think being a pegasus would be beneficial to a sculptor. No ladder required to work on high details just fly up there.
-I am not immune to the bruce/harvey/gilda agenda

Cute Spider Society Headcanons:
[a long post of random headcanons about the fun stuff at Spider Society HQ - all cool things for your Spidersona to do]
Tumblr media
There's absolutely regular talent shows and battles of the band every quarter or so.
Spider-people usually aren't the most popular back home on their Earth's, so Miguel permits having shows and activities like this so Spider-people can bond and relieve stress between Canon Events
Hobie has won multiple times - His and Gwen's band won last quarter, BUT they don't always win. MetroSpider is another past winner.
The rule is Spider-members only. But if your powers help your music, you can use them (ie, Hobie can play guitar without an amp-)
Training is a HUGE thing.
And it's mandatory even between missions. Time trails, Web strength testing, problem resolution training, weekly classes - It's a lot.
Your training schedule isn't always the same, and your classes are determined by your skill, specific powers, and universe
Money isn't used on campus. It's banned actually, and mostly useless when everyone is from a universe with a different exchange rate, political climate, tender etc.
Instead, The main currency is based on a points system connected to training/missions.
The more missions you do, or the more you train (therefore making you a better hero to your universe), the more points you earn
Things like the cafeteria and dorms are completely free. But points can be used to earn perks like suit upgrades, or things from the commissary
The Commissary is a store on campus where you can buy authorized items from other Earth's.
They have everything from training materials like mechanical webbing - with different properties/effects - to leisure things like cool video games from Margo's world or music from other time eras, vintage things from old universes, etc
Points can also be used for a number of other stuff such as:
Extra jumps on your watch. The more missions you do, the more jumps you can buy, allowing you to go to other universes on your off time (to hang with friends)
Suit Upgrades. Your suit is surveyed and upgraded for free at joining, and it gets upgraded with every class you gain (C Class -> B Class -> A Class -> etc.)
However, you can use points to upgrade or even just redesign your suit. There is a Suit Center where fashionable and genius Spider-people will help you design and adjust your suit based on your universe and villains
There's support groups, a lot centered around Canon Events.
For teens and young Spider-people there's an Educational Program
It can be done part-time with active mission work or full-time on campus
You train in multiversal research, Spider genetics, and other technology such as Doc Ock technology and Green Goblin biology
You can be offered a job on campus after completion - Margo is a graduate of this
If your participate in Educational Program, Lyla will be your mentor and you'll report to her
Educational students live in separate dorms, and the program is kinda intense, but VERY fun
There are different focuses in the program
Spider-Geneticists have a short residency after, they help take Spider vitals and oversee Training
You can also specialise in Spider-medicine - in which you work in the Infirmary
There are some CRAZY (secret) Parties all over the Spider-verse.
Disco-Spider loves a good party. Her and Pavi through insane ragers, a new one in a different universe everytime
Miguel has no idea
But partying on the walls and ceiling while Spider-people play super-human live shows in the world's craziest mosh-pit -
Spider-parties hit different.
It's one of the only time everyone is unmasked around each other
There's a really loose dress code
You DO NOT have to wear your suit 24/7. What is someone gonna do, rat you out in your universe?
Everyone is in their suit for ATSV cause Miguel asked them to be completely professional that day (as an intimidation tactic)
That's why Jess, Gwen, Peter, and Hobie are all fine showing their faces as soon as they get to campus.
If anything it's usually seen as weird to be wearing your mask all the time
Casual clothing is allowed. Skirts and dresses without anything underneath aren't allowed (you'll be upsidedown.)
You're expected to have two suits (one main, one spare - you get these at joining) for missions and a separate training outfit for your classes
There's super sports teams
Spidey Football (European not American) expands the rules to all four walls with a ball engineered to stick like Spidey-people do
Track & Swing Team - which Pavitr is a star member of
A small swim-and-dive team for the swimmers, and a small Roller Derby league for the skaters
Pavitr is also a star on the gymnastics team
There's also things like ballet groups, though Gwen doesn't take part
There's a REALLY GOOD Glee club. Spider-strength gives some crazy lung-capacity.
Disco is on the Glee club, and they take it very seriously
Living on campus doesn't threaten your home verse - you'll still be on call!
Lyla monitors all universes for anamolies - sending Anamoly Teams of 2-6
However if your universe experiences a non-anamoly, your watch will be pinged for a mandatory report, and you'll be sent to your universe to handle it
As such, your watch is like a doctor's pager. You can be called for anamolies or your universe at any time (If you're an active member in your universe, living on Society Campus, or have a contact negotiated for that. Class S members like Hobie can negotiate to be Selective Active members)
There's a little underground Spider-market
If you ask Hobie, he can definitely hack your watch for you.
If your Electro has been beating your ass, you can get your hands on electro-resistant webbing without spending points.
The Society has a small group of people willing to trade you for anything you've got, or even just help you out for the hell of it.
You just have to know where and who to ask
There's a couple Spideys that don't pay electric because someone hooked them up with a super clean Futuristic generator
MJ's, Black Cats, Osborns, and Deadpools are allowed on campus with clearance, a daypass, and a chaperone (their Spidey)
Only for short periods, or if they're super injured. An MJ might pop in when Peter forgets his lunch.
Aunt Mays are not.
It's considered very rude to call them by their 'base names' - ie. calling MJs 'Mary-Janes' or calling Black Cats 'Felicias'
Not all MJs are Mary-Janes
Though, using the term 'a Parker' is common on campus to refer to large Peter Parker population
Roughly 45-50% of the people on campus are named Peter.
There's other 'groups' - such as 'Not-Parkers' (Non-Peter iterations like Pavitr), and 'Duplicates' (Hobie Brown, Gwen Stacy, MJs, Felicia Hardy NightSpider etc)
Though calling them these things are way less common or accepted than calling someone a Parker ('Not-Parker'is neutral. 'Duplicate' is offensive)
