Within the Past 24 Hours We Suddenly All Want to Buy This New Trend
Calling all electricians and plumbers: prepare to be the envy of the fashion crowd, because your uniform is so on-trend right now. Like the older, more understated cousin of this summer's buttoned and printed jumpsuits, the boilersuit has arrived just in time for autumn, bringing with it a more androgynous edge. Over the last few days we've seen the trend appear on the streets of Copenhagen and also filter into the new-in sections of our favourite high street stores. It didn't take long for the whole team to fall in love.
How do we love thee boilersuit? Let us count the ways. Firstly, it's incredibly easy to wear—simply throw it on and add some statement shoes and you're good to go. It is, however, far from boring—just think of it as a statement outfit contained within one item of clothing. Secondly, it's perfect for this time of year when the weather can fluctuate from chilly in the morning to muggy mid-afternoon. Finally, it's so easy to find expensive-looking pieces for less, whether it's Topshop's black boilersuit (a Who What Wear fave) or the real-deal overalls from Amazon (a fashion editor secret). Scroll down to shop our favourite looks.
Style Notes: Filippa Hägg wears her Zara boilersuit with Balenciaga's cult tweed heels.
Style Notes: Pink is another popular hue this season and Jeanette Madsen styles her with Nunoo's sellout transparent bag.
Style Notes: Jessica Skye shows us how to work Topshop's black boilersuit. Autumn style here we come.
Style Notes: I fell in love with Zara's white boilersuit the moment I saw it. I like the slight flared trouser shape and waist-cinching belt.
We need this in our wardrobes, stat.
A boilersuit in autumn's hottest fabric: cord.
The lace detail on the back of this is so cool.
A beige boilersuit will look so chic with colour-match accessories.
The belt-tie on this will flatter all body shapes.
Another Who What Wear fave. This will carry through to winter—simply layer a polo neck underneath when it gets chilly.
These overalls are the real deal (hence the bargain price tag). We love the khaki hue.
A dark blue boilersuit is a classic. Wear with white trainers and a knotted neckerchief.
