I typically veer off to the niche end of the isle but I do like the quality and complexity of Tom Ford Private Blends (though I don't currently own any myself). That being said, this release looks to be quite polarizing. It represents Tom Ford's interpretation of myrrh, with primary notes described as myrrh, sandalwood and vanilla, with prominent musky, powdery and ambery accords. Yesterday, however, amber, vanilla and warm spice were the top accords so ratings are changing!

Intriguingly, of the 28 votes on Fragrantica so far, a majority has voted "hate", with less than half for "love" and a small portion voted "like". For such a musky and powdery fragrance with warm, sweet and spicy undertones, it's also eybrowraising that a majority have voted it to be a spring/summer fragrance. I'm curious to see how the votes change after it's released to the public!

Hello! Welcome to the brand new Hesperides fragrance blog. Here I will be reviewing some fragrances and samples I own.

For the first fragrance review, I have My Way Floral by Giorgio Armani. It was launched in 2022, and the noses behind it are Carlos Benaim and Pascal Gaurin.

My Way Floral is a fruity, citrus scent with notes of green mandarin, orange blossom, tuberose, neroli, and musk. Upon spraying it you get a blast of juicy, sweet orange, with a hint of bubblegum from the tuberose. Overall, it reminds me of a fruit bubble tea in the summer.

This is my current favourite spring scent, as it's great for the warmer months. It's not a complex or confusing scent, nor does it feel simple or generic. The citrus from the neroli gives freshness and youth to the original My Way DNA without hiding the tuberose or smelling like cleaning products. However, the tuberose is much more prominent in the original My Way. As someone who is hit-and-miss with tuberose, I gravitate more toward My Way Floral, so this may be something of interest to those like me.

Moving on to the bottle design, I always love frosted glass as it reminds me of cool summer drinks. All the My Way flankers have similar bottles, but I think the frosted glass matches the freshness of the scent really nicely.

Scent Layering Tips:

Remember your routine starts in the shower. Use fragrance-free body wash/lotion if you want to ensure they don't mix with any perfume/fragrance mists. Otherwise, test to see whether your favorite scented body wash/lotions complement each other/work together to create your desired scent.

Apply scents from the heaviest to the lightest. Apply your heady perfumes (musky, deeper, spicier, and richer-smelling scents) before your lighter fragrances (brighter floral or citrus scents). Typically, bolder perfume scents have more dynamic and/or deeper base notes (the notes that last on the skin for the longest skin [4-6 hours -once the perfume has "dried down"]. Popular base notes include vanilla, oud, musk, patchouli, sandalwood, cedarwood) and can have common heart notes [actualize around 20-60 minutes after spraying the perfume after the top notes, or initial scent, starts to fade]. Some common heart/middle perfume notes include jasmine, rose, cinnamon, geranium, lavender, black pepper, pine, and lemongrass.

When in doubt, layer two perfumes (and/or scented body products) with the same/overlapping base and/or heart notes. Think a vanilla-scented body lotion with a vanilla-based perfume or scents with vanilla-jasmine notes like Valentino Donna Born in Roma EDP layered with Versace Crystal Noir.

Don't layer two heavy scents together. Think of scents like Tom Ford Black Orchid and Mugler Alien paired together. When combined the smell can be overwhelming and give you a headache. Huda Beauty created a great fragrance scent layering guide (in the hyperlink).

How To Smell Fresh All Day Long:

Shower daily with soap and water under your arms, behind, and on the bikini area (only use water on the inside/your vulva)

Moisturize your skin daily (body hands, face)

Brush your teeth twice a day. Floss at least once a day. Keep a disposable toothbrush or at least some breath mints handy for use throughout the day if needed

Apply an antiperspirant deodorant every morning/before any activity where you think you'll be sweating. Carry around a mini one in your work bag or if you have room for one in your purse if out for several hours at a time on a hot day

Have feminine hygiene wipes and wet wipes on hand to cleanse the downstairs regions as needed

Keep some cleansing wipes/spray to refresh your body/face if you're in a hot/humid climate or are prone to sweating (I like the Pacifica Coconut Milk & Essential Oils Underarm Deodorant Wipes and Evian Facial Spray to freshen up throughout the day)

Change any liners/pads/tampons every 3-4 hours when not asleep

Wear underwear with a cotton gusset daily (lingerie is the exception)

Change your underwear and socks throughout the day

Ensure you're washing your towels and pillowcases at least once a week

Choose breathable fabrics (linen, bamboo, cotton, Tencel, silk, merino wool) in the hot/humid weather or if you're worried about sweating

Keep a rollerball of your go-to perfume to freshen up on your pulse points if needed throughout the day/night

TIPS ON HOW TO MAKE THE SMELL OF YOUR PERFUME LAST LONGER!

𝟏. . . ੭* ‧₊° Always get your favorite perfume! I really like sweeter perfumes, but it's really whatever you want, sweetie! If you want to know, my favorites perfumes are Hello Kitty Candy from Jequiti and Coconut and Vanilla from Capricho. They are not really expensive and both brands are from Brazil!

𝟐. . . ੭* ‧₊° Put on body cream on wet body! When you pass your body cream on your wet body, the scent can stick more and last longer.

𝟑. . . ੭* ‧₊° Apply perfume on specific areas! The areas you should apply your perfume so the scent can last longer are behind your ears, middle of the collarbone, front part of the elbows, wrists and, not really necessary but, behind your knees.

𝟒. . . ੭* ‧₊° Avoid rubbing the perfume! Rubbing your perfume on your skin can actually change the scent of it and make it not so durable.

𝟓. . . ੭* ‧₊° Put it on clothes! This is obviously not obligatory and many people don't like doing that because it wastes more perfume, but I really like feeling the perfume on clothes. So, I suggest spraying only a little bit on your clothes!

my favourite fragrances

for reference i like fruity and musky scents and don’t typically lean towards sugary sweet scents. i also like to change my scents around based on seasons.

spring/summer scents

ari - ariana grande

tope notes raspberry, pear, grapefruit

this is my all time favourite, it’s so yummy and affordable i pair it with the body mist and it lasts all day long. one time when i wore this i got like four people commenting on how good i smelt in one school day.

mon paris - ysl

top notes strawberry, raspberry, pear, orange, bergamot

this one is pricey but i think it’s worth the splurge. it’s my favourite designer perfume it’s sweet and fades into a nice subtle scent. it always gets me compliments!!

winter/autumn scents

moonlight - ariana grande

top notes plum, blackcurrant, marshmallow

i personally think this is her most underrated perfume, it’s fruity and musky at the same time and it suits the rainy winter weather so much. i also pair this with the matching body spray.

sweet perfumes

sweet like candy - ariana grande

top notes blackberry, pear, bergamot, whipped cream, marshmallow

i really like this one because it is sweet but still has a fruity scent to it. i don’t wear it as often as other perfumes but when i do i pair it with a strawberry lotion and i get so many compliments!!

sweet tooth - sabrina carpenter

top notes marshmallow, candied ginger, chocolate, bergamot

i wouldn’t normally reach for this perfume just because of my preference in scents, but if i do feel like wearing something sweet i will always go for this perfume. it makes you smell edible sort of like you just walked out of a bakery, so yummy!! and it lasts a while on my skin.

Hi guys,

Every Christmas I am very kindly gifted a new fragrance which I will obsessively use for the following year and this year I was given Ariana Grande Cloud Pink!

Now when it comes to celebrity beauty and fragrance brands we can all be a little cynical about how good they are or worth the money. But I can honestly say that Ariana Grande has made several of my favourite perfumes ever. I don't know if it's her or her team but her brand of fragrances are amazing! While she has a lovely range I tend to lean towards her sweet scented fragrances (I hate vanilla scents) and currently I have 5 of her perfumes and 3 of her fragrance mists I use all this time.

This Christmas I was given Cloud Pink which I was so excited to try because I'm not the biggest fan of the original Cloud scent on me though it smells lush on my friends. It's the odd thing about P.H levels because what smells amazing on you might smell awful on me and vise versa too. Now I am terrible at describing fragrances as we all know by now so here is the information from the Boots website: " blend of ambery woods, magenta moss, and a touch of sweetened praline. The journey begins with a velvety blend of rich berries and sparkling fruit while the delicate floral of vanilla orchid and blush ambrette wrap you in an embrace of feathery, cotton-like clouds. The lasting impression, a warm blend of addictive, skin-sensual musk and amber woods indulge the senses".

Now while this fragrance has hints of vanilla, it is more subtle then her other fragrances which is why I think I like this fragrance so much. I just love how fresh this scent wears on me and reminds me of her BLUSH perfume which is another favourite of mine I got on my birthday. Can we also just take a minute to appreciate the Pink Cloud packaging because her bottles always look so pretty and gorgeous to display in my makeup room.

Le Labo's city exclusive for Shanghai is new for this year - Myrrhe 55. At the center is the myrrh note, with accords of amber, white florals, animalic, and musk . Yet another myrrh-themed scent this autumn, Tom Ford Private blends are also releasing their own interpretation in September.

Please tell me what you think of this cruel, cruel idea I had--

Whumpee has been Whumper's toy for years now, systematically broken and healed just to be broken again

After Whumper had broken them enough that they would disobey only in the smallest of ways (would cry when told to shut up when the pain got too much, something like that) but wouldn't fight Whumper any longer, they gave Whumpee one small mercy. One item of comfort.

And when Whumper finally tires of them, desiring to truly break someone again?

Whumpee is gifted to someone else. That someone else was told about the comfort item and decides, why should Whumpee have it? It will only make them disobedient.

So what do they do? They use that item against Whumpee. It could be a blanket or pillow, so often cuddled or used to hide in, now used to smother Whumpee or restrain them. A stuffed animal ripped apart and used as a gag. Something made of rock or stone heated and used to burn Whumpee over and over, you get the picture.

And then Whumpee is rescued, maybe even just requested for a visit by their old Whumper. And that Whumper gets to see their former whumpee go from skittish but obedient to absolutely terrified. And when, out of the kindness of their heart, they try to hand Whumpee their comfort item?

They get to hear them scream.

If the comfort object is something hard, then throw it at the whumpee!

the first whumper let them listen to some of their favorite music as a comfort? play it while whumpee is being tortured to condition them, and then turn it on whenever so they panic :)

serve the whumpee their favorite food, but poisoned or drugged to give them a bad time!

whumpee has a cozy oversized jacket with too-long sleeves? turn it into a straitjacket!

only let whumpee have their comfort object when whumper is nearby. watching whumpee. maybe taunting them, hurting them, until their comfort object is associated too much with whumper.

also for the post-visit/rescue stuff!!

first whumper is super confused, tries to place it in whumpee's hands. it doesn't go well!

first whumper taunts them once they realize what's going on, laughing at whumpee for being so scared of something they once adored

whumpee is scared that first whumper is going to use their comfort object against them as well

if it's post rescue, caretaker holds their shaking hands, asks them what's wrong, and gives them a nice hug :D

Hi there 😊 I saw you gave someone suggestions in regards to perfumes so I was wondering what's your opinion on Dior Hypnotic Poison, pure Poison , miss Dior Rose n roses and mugler angel as " alluring " type of perfumes.

Hi love! Here's my take on the fragrances you mentioned above:

Dior Hypnotic Poison: I think this fragrance is definitely alluring but is one of the more polarizing "seductive" fragrances on the luxury market. It all depends on your individual body chemistry (and personally, I think it would mainly appeal to the 20+ crowd). On some people, Hypnotic Poison can smell like a divine root beer float, a mix of rich smoky vanilla musk, rose, and licorice aroma, which is definitely alluring. However, on others, it can smell way too mature and kind of like sweet gasoline. I wouldn't blind-buy this one.

Dior Pure Poison: I think this perfume is one of the most objective "seductive" clean scents out there, but also is one of those "love it or hate it" scents. The light musky floral scent offers a sophisticated lady/effortlessly seductive French girl allure for many people. However, if it doesn't mix with your body chemistry, this perfume can often smell like soap and baby powder. Again, another fragrance I wouldn't blind-buy.

Miss Dior Rose n' Roses: I personally love the jovial rose/sophisticated French girl aroma of this fragrance. I believe it's alluring in a lighter feminine, elegant way. Totally recommend it if more floral "girly' scents are your preference over a deeper musky/amber-heavy "seductive" scent.

Mugler Angel: Love it, honestly. I love super sexy vanilla patchouli scents, but I know a lot of people find this one way too strong/peppery. It's another controversial one I would try out in person.

For reference, I would say my two go-to perfumes tend to be Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur and Tom Ford Velvet Orchid.

but yES i do work with noses (perfumers and evaluators, both can be called noses, but i'm assuming you're talking about the people who actually write the formulas, in which case -- perfumers)

i have not been to grasse (yet!) but our company has a villa and an r&d facility out there so the next time i'm in europe, i'll def be able to visit!
