Wind in the Willows Illustrations
For those of you, who are new to my fanpage, here is a collection of commissioned illustrations I made for the publisher Beijing Double Spiral Culture & Exchange Company. They haven't published it yet, and not sure whether they ever will... Still, at least I got paid :)
"Wind in the Willows" written by Kenneth Grahame.

“Madness is somewhere in between chaos and having a dream”
Tumblr media
I am an artist and children’s book illustrator and diagnosed bipolar II with generalised anxiety disorder. Of course that’s not the only things I am, I am also a daughter, a mother, a wife and a friend, but it’s the bipolar and the art that mainly define my life.
Bipolar / Mental illness and art definitely go hand in hand for me, although nobody is 100% positive on the exact causes behind bipolar, brain chemistry, genes, trauma or all of the above. What is generally agreed upon is that individuals with a MH condition are more likely to be creative Do we use a different part of our brains? Is there an area of the brain that controls how we interpret things in a different way to others and that part is also responsible for our moods and personality? Who knows? I certainly don’t . What I do know though if a magic wand could be waved to take away my bipolar but along with that I would lose my creativity, then I wouldn’t allow that wand to be waved

"Welcome to Dark'N'Dusty"
Illustration I painted and had printed/framed as a Christmas gift for my brother a few years ago. It's an illustration of a children's book series he started writing that I've been encouraging him to get back to.
(All rights regarding the world, characters, names, story, etc. regarding the world of Dark'N'Dusty are reserved for/belong to the author; the artistic interpretation belongs to me.)

Hello gleafer, I greatly admire your style of art and your expressions in your drawings! I hope you don't mind me asking, as a full time illustrator, what does your work entail? Do you work for a company or freelance, or is your income through patreon? Is there any advice you can offer for someone looking to become an illustrator?
I am in my 3rd year of Diploma of Fine Arts, working to become a highschool art teacher, but I also love to make illustrative work and would like to pursue that as a side job.
Thank you for any advice you can dish out! Keep up the amazing work 💞
I don’t mind at all!
I’m a freelance commercial storyboard artist. Went to college with the idea of illustrating comics and had a fabulous teacher direct me into the commercial industry because the money was great and I had a knack for it.
I’ve been doing that for 25 years and so far, still going strong!
I just jumped on Patreon a couple months ago and I’m very grateful for how well it’s been doing and how much joy it’s been bringing to me and my pigeons (patrons)!
There’s only so much joy one can get slinging commercial frames and I felt very much that my art was single serve and disposable for no one to enjoy but the clients in last minute meetings. Now, with the GO fandom being wonderful and creative, I’m really enjoying illustrating again!
My advice is find a nice stable niche where you can get a steady income and satisfaction while simultaneously trying your hand at different freelance opportunities to see what brings you joy be it for extra income or purely for fun!
I’ve done caricatures at Great America, freelanced with D&D illustrating characters for their rpg books, taught some classes and have a few children’s books under my belt.
Try it all! As my art teacher used to say Variety is the spice of life and the love of an artist!
Is that corny? I’m a little corny.

Hey Everyone! So now that I officially have the first draft written, I am excited to share with you all that I am creating a childrens book this year called... "Toni, the Punk Rock Opossum!" (don't act so surprised 😆) It will be a short tale of how Toni became a "Punk Rock Opossum", and it will be told in the style of a rhyming song! ♥️ This project is a HUGE deal for me and I am going to be giving it everything I have. I have decided to self publish this one so that I can stay true to my original characters and concept. Over the next several months, you will probably see a lot more of this little dude and his bandmates pop up as I fine-tune the characters, environments and compositions.
If the idea of having a children's book about a Punk Rock Opossum excites you too, there are a few ways you can help in making this dream come true!
1. Consider buying work from my shop! Really as simple as that. Since this is a business endeavor, any money I make this year will be helping me in paying for the printing and promoting.
2. Coming later this year, I am planning on releasing some limited edition stickers of Toni and the rest of the "Trash Goblins" as a way to help promote the book and crowd fund.( I will be selling these on my Ko-Fi page and will definitely let you all know when those go up)
3. Like, Share and Talk about it with your buddies! :D As I continue to flesh out these pages and characters, I will be sharing some sneak peeks with you all. I would be thrilled if this can become something others get excited about too! In a world where there are billions of children's books, I'm hoping to create something that hits a special place in your hearts.
Welp! Thats it for now. If you have read. this far, thank you so much for following my page and helping me make my dreams come true ♥️
Also, as I post this little opossum and his friends, I welcome and ENCOURAGE feedback and constructive criticism regarding the styles and changes I toy with.
Anyway, here is my Linktree if interested:
