Iron Man may be a very heavy cold war icon in his early 60s stories, but by the mid 70s he stops making weapons of war. He learned a lesson and grew as a character. Captain America may be a product of eugenics (what else is the super soldier serum, really?), but Captain America is also someone who would probably admit that eugenics are bad. He probably would understand my objections to his transformation with the super soldier serum. Because he's a good man, even if his backstory sucks.

Batman... how does batman grow? Arkham still exists (so he hasn't fixed gotham's mental health system), he still rules by fear instead of by hope (i am the night is not a heroic thing to say, it sounds more like something dracula would say), he also still keeps making paranoid plans to betray his teammates if they go rogue. He's actually done eugencics by doing things like messing with his jason todd's brain (something i accidentally learned he did in modern comics), etc. Batman doesn't grow as a person, and he's honestly more evil than most of his own villains!

Fear vs Respect

The difference between Batman and Nightwing is that Batman is feared not respected but Nightwing is respected not feared. There's a huge difference between the two. Nightwing's original plans were only supposed to hurt the people who hurt him or innocents first and never get anyone involved with it that wasn't necessary to success. When people fear him, he's devastated cause he never and never will want that, people fearing him. When people tell him off he can acknowledge he's in the wrong, that he's not correct 24/7 and he's also happy that people are not scared to criticize him.

Meanwhile Bruce cannot accept criticism of any kind and people are so scared of him that they don't tell him if he's wrong and when they finally do, he's too far down the rabbit hole to stop. Bruce's plans only harm people Including the villains but also innocents and he doesn't care who gets hurt. When people don't fear him he takes it as an insult, thinking their lying cause he thinks everyone fears him.

So in conclusion Batman hurts first, comforts last and Nightwing comforts first, hurt later

Y’all parallel between Tylor the kid Jason saved In Urban Legends who’s dad drugged him and his mom into behaving and Bruce drugging Jason into submission in Gotham War, I don’t know where I’m going with this but just thinking about the parallels and how Jason killed Tylor’s dad when he found out what he was doing to him and than Jason’s dad goes and does the exact same thing (but arguably worse) to him

I was researching today about the under the hood point when Bruce (that disgusting excuse of a father/person -ok got that out of my system) throws the batarang to Jason's FREAKING THROAT, choosing Joker over his own son. And despite knowing this has happened, despite having read it already a bunch of times, I was kinda hoping I'd find something to salvage Bruce in my eyes. Some detail, some after the incident panel anything...

And there's nothing. Not a single thing. That piece of shit, sliced his son's throat open. I cannot find the words to describe how much this infuriates me. How entirely unforgiven that pure excuse of a hero is in my eyes. How can someone burry his child, be blessed with them coming back to life, only to be abusive, distant, toxic and then simply CHOOSING to try and kill them?!? Like, what the actual fuck?

In case someone knows, my original question and the reason I started looking into it again, was to find out if Tim (or any other batfam member) was present when this happened. I couldn't find anything indicating someone was there, but I don't own the actual comics to be sure nor have I seen the movie to see how it happens there. So, if you know the definite answer to that, please share it.

Batman is abelist as shit and does not care about how the Joker's mental illness affects him and literally sends him to arkam assylum, an ABUSIVE INSANE ASSYLUM all the time. Like the treatment there is fucking inhumane and really demonizes mental illness. This point alone makes me sick.

The Joker needs someone who can keep up with his theatrics, someone who can stimulate his creativity. Batman never ONCE appreciates or acknowledges the work the Joker puts into their encounters or the dramatic flair behind it. (Yes I know he is killing people but 1. He struggles with a shit ton of untreated mental illness and 2. He just wants to be recognized by someone who gives a single shit about him. Like a crumb of attention or recognition, the man is starved for affection.)

What is the appeal??? Batman just beats the shit out of him like the abusive asshole he is.

This turned mostly into an anti-batman rant, but yeah. Fuck batjokes. Sidenote not saying people should ship the Joker with Harley either. That man is QUEER and Harley Quinn is toxic but nobody ever talks about that. (Taking advantage of her patient? Dating your client as a THERPIST is fucking grooming. End of story.) Anyway I have yet to see a good ship with the Joker when shipping him with other DC characters.

Batman's efforts against joker are pointless because he's playing into exactly what joker wants and expects from him. Joker sets up elaborate unpredictable traps and Batman always comes in dark and brooding and serious- and that's just it. Batman's playing the game, he's falling for it everytime. The push and pull, the theatrical dramatics.

But if another joker were to go against joker, well. Jokers is unpredictable, not even the joker can predict what he'll do next. And it would certainly bum him out and piss him off to be faced with a mirror version of himself. It would throw him off his game. There is no game anymore, only chaos. And we'll, joker's not against using guns is he? So the more prepared Joker, the mirror version, would win.

I can't see them teaming up, though they might try. They would get on each other's nerves quickly, because Joker thinks he's the best at what he does and the competition would drive him to want to get rid of his double. He can't have anyone outdoing him can he?

And obviously there's only room for one Joker when it comes to his dear Batsy. He'd get jealous real fast.

Boom. Joker's dead, outplayed and smeared across Gotham's streets, and you can send the mirror version back to his dimension.

Then, without Joker, Batman can finally retire and we can finally finally start focusing on the new generation of vigilantes and heroes.

Batman can't be around forever, and it's time for people like Cassandra and Damian to get the spotlight.

I mean, Batman's not even really Batman anymore. He's not what he used to be. We all know that.

Batman loses all likeability when you remember Arkham exists. Have you seen Arkham!? The damn place is a run down sanitarium or something! It's clearly never been renovated since the early 1900s! And yet it still stands! We're sending a bunch of mentally ill people to a place that looks specifically designed to torture them. The only batman who has my respect in this regard is the telltale games one. I'm pretty sure those games had (or had the option to have) arkham get replaced by an actual functioning mental health facility.

Cause let's be honest. You keep sending people like Two-Face, Riddler, Mad Hatter, Harley Quinn, Mister Freeze, etc to a place that looks like a 1800s facility where they'd try to beat the abnormality out of you, and then you're shocked when they don't get better!
