Percy was, as usual, completely clueless about anything, so he just babbled with Jason.

Under the Bridge 1x07 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Absolutely no one has asked for this, but here’s my review: A very quality episode all around- Storytelling, cinematography, acting, all superb work in my opinion. Exactly how I imagined this episode would go after finishing the Under the Bridge book in terms of the case. Definitely stirred up the same emotions as when I was reading the book.

How I interpreted Rebecca’s “obsession” with telling Warren’s story, make sure everybody “knows his heart” seems to align with what the show’s trying to get at- Yes, Warren is a boy who’s had a quiet yet unfortunate life, but he is not Gabe. He is Rebecca. A kid who didn’t know better and did/said horrible things in the heat of the moment that had a much bigger consequene than they could possibly comprehend even afterwards.

It seems to me that Rebecca (the show character) also didn’t fully understand or maybe didn’t want to admit why she so desperately wanted and needed to tell everyone Warren’s heart- She wanted to convince or prove to “the world”- to herself really (and maybe Cam)- that she did monsterous things (bullied her brother, shouted horrible things at him) but she’s not a monster.

Again, I am not passing judgment or taking sides on the true case and real people involved in the case. I am only focusing on the characters and the show’s artistic choices to tell the story from the book. I think the show did a good job capturing the book, aka the real Rebecca’s perspective of the stories around the case, and added more-

1) When Rebecca’s dad read the draft, he brought up that in the story about Reena Virk’s case, she’s everywhere, but yet she is no where to be found in Rebecca’s book. Why is that? What is she afraid of?

2) Suman stared right into Rebecca’s eyes and said Warren saw someone who’s weaker so he did what he did. Then, questioned her if Reena looked like her, do you think he’d still do what he did?! The book in my opinion did not really touched on the racial aspect of the discussion, maybe it only implied or vaguely hinted at, but I like how the show directly point it out. I can’t quite put this into words, but I also felt that what Suman said about Warren in that moment did not see Reena as a person has a slightly different meaning from when the same statement was made during court when they tried to pin Warren for the murder.

3) Similar to the point above, I am not sure if this is intentional on the director/show-creator’s part, but I found it interesting that while the connection between Rebecca and Warren was forming, the show also established a mirror connection between Cam and Dusty 👀 I personally see it as mirroring in terms of race ethnicity but also a mirror comparison in their childhood experience aka the role they both played in the case of Gabe and Reena. Besides wanting to see them continuously showcasing the true case progress, I can’t wait to see if the show will tell us what did happen with Gabe in the last episode? We seem to know the role Dusty/Cam played in the case. We know Warren/Rebecca think they contributed 3/10 parts to Gabe/Reena’s death. We know that Kelly owed 7/10 parts to Reena’s death, then what’s the 7/10 parts to Gabe’s death?! Was it truly an accident or was there something more?

Lastly, the scene between Rebecca x Cam in the bedroom… such wonderful acting by Riley and Lily 🥲

Also, I truly see the real Rebecca shining through Riley’s Rebecca in this episode for some reason…

I know Omega is frustrated here and people may bash her for being 'whiny' but I honestly appreciate the writers letting us see her in a more child-like frustration.

I honestly love that Ventress has seen both the light and dark side of the force and now has come into her own. She's almost looked relieved that she was able to call the creatures to her, kind of like an "I'm still worthy moment."

Omega with wet hair! (NOW GIVE US HUNTER)

Okay my theory about the kraken, Ventress called it's food source, so it followed, but then it got curious about their boat. It wasn't trying to attack them, it was bumping their boat because it was trying to figure out what they were. Then Ventress cut off a tentacle (yes to rescue Omega, but I think the creature was just exploring) That spooked it, then the Marauder swings in and starts shooting at it. When the Marauder flies off, a tentacle kind of flicks in a 'yeah get out of here' kind of way. It doesn't immediately eat Ventress when it has her (does it even eat humans?), it brings her close to it's face to investigate and she takes her time channeling the Force. The animators specifically focus on the creature's eyes and the changes in it (pupils dilating). To me, it seemed like Ventress was communicating with it like "I'm sorry we startled you, we mean you no harm." Then the creature sets Ventress down so gently (it doesn't drop her) and goes on it's merry way.

Crosshair is the one on the ramp to get Omega!!!

Ahh! he reaches out to help Ventress too. He offered her his hand and she took it!! 🥰

I'm surprised we didn't get a comment from Ventress about Batcher.

Wrecker being the big brother we all need and taking Omega off to eat after a long day just makes my heart so warm.

The way Hunter and Crosshair are both standing with a hip popped is killing me. (again, sorry for bad quality) 😂

Ventress is so smart and she sees how much the Batch cares about Omega, hence why she lied. AND Hunter and Crosshair know Ventress is right that if they acknowledge Omega is Force-sensitive, that means she goes away and they're not ready for that.

Her warning is so foreboding... (A Harbringer?) Next week is a double feature and I think that's when we'll get the Empire over Pabu.

Crosshair is so attentive to Ventress, I'm already shipping them (don't get me wrong, I'd fight Ventress for Crosshair, but they seem like they'd be a good match in-universe)

AHHH!!! This episode was so good. We got to see our boys fighting again as a unit. We got to see Ventress (which, during clone wars she was always just a 'mech' character for me. Didn't love her, didn't hate her, but this episode solidified her on my favs list. Her line of "We were pawned in the same war and we all lost." Just DAMN she hit the nail on the head and I don't even know she knows she did. If you made it through this entire post, scrolling back I didn't realize how insanely long it is, thank you!! 💕

This is a creepy, dark, cumbersome story. But those are positives. It creates dank shadows that help drive the good v evil theme and makes all the love and romance shine bright. Makes the good and honorable fight our heroes are forced into all the better. I love nesting Dean. Your descriptors of his actions are so sweet and adorable. I'm pleased our alpha twins and their omegas are mating and discovering some measure of romance. HATE! DESPISE! LOATHE! john winchester! His name in all lower case is the best he deserves. Hmm. Okay so I don’t know if I’m a confused idiot or a genius but, after finding out the two rings are bonded to each other I went back and read this part in chapter 21

“I know,” Plagg said gently. “But Adrien…you must know how dangerous it is. Put too many cracks in the glass, and it’ll break.”

Once, Adrien had believed that would solve everything. But he knew better now. Things were never that easy.

One thing that has confused me through this whole story is why Adrien hasn’t yet killed himself. He seemed suicidal in the past and it seemed like the best solution he would think of. So that last line ‘things were never that easy’ got me thinking he must have realised there would be some unwanted consequences if he did kill himself.

So now, I’m not sure if this is the genius or idiotic part, but does the bond mean that if Adrien kills himself then that would break his amok which would in turn break Felix’s and kill him too? Is that the reason Adrien hasn’t killed himself all these years, because he knew it would cost Felix his life too? In which case, oh. My soft little boy.

But also, then does that mean that what Adrien is doing right now - the way he keeps risking his life to break the bond as much as he can- is also risking Felix’s life too? That if Adrien goes too far, he’d end up killing both himself and Felix? And they both know this?

LOL ngl if that’s true I’d find it both darkly hilarious and really sweet, as well as a huge character development on both sides. I’ve always thought Adrien and Felix were a bit too blatant of a dichotomy between good and evil so I’d love this development because this way I feel they would finally balance each other: Adrien finally becomes ruthless enough to risk Felix’s life for his own self-interests (which, Adrien being Adrien, is protecting his friends) and Felix finally becomes selfless enough to stand aside and let him do just that (albeit, Felix being Felix, researching alternatives methods for survival too).

adrien's trying to be careful as he uses cataclysm to resist. he knows very well he could break his amok, and therefore felix's. he's been trying to hide it from felix so felix won't freak out on him, but too late lol. there's nothing they can really hide from each other.

so happy you noticed how i'm positioning the boys in their development :_) felix is indeed encouraging adrien to be self-interested to earn his freedom, and adrien pushes felix to be selfLESS in, well, basically everything. and it's working!!!!

Izzy‘s such a sour patch kid on the ship , enough of a fuss bucket to irk the crew a bit but his sweet moments make up for it .

I love the fact that Ed‘s such a pro at taking care of him and more relaxed with his methods while Stede pushes(?) Izzy into trying new things. Like yes it’s fine for him to have his safe foods but it wouldn’t hurt for him to experience new things aswell. Same with Izzy going non verbal! Ed‘s fine with filling in blanks and following pointed instructions while stede‘s the one pushing for him to communicate , be it sign or a whisper .

fr though Izzy is such a sweet'n'sour kiddo, one moment he can be so sweet and timid and the next he's kicking and stomping because someone borrowed a toy from his game! the tinies usually aren't too worried about playing with Izzy, mostly forgetting about his cranky side until it comes about, but the carers in the room are always vigilant, especially when they know Izzy refused a nap or didn't want to eat his lunch lol (they all still find him desperately cute).

Ed is kind of a pro at taking care of him, mostly because he's known Izzy for that long and has dealt with his tiny side quite a few times (though he didn't do the best job back then, and is still learning now). He's witnessed a lot of the things that still bother Izzy, like food insecurity, fear of abandonment, need for schedules and fear of change, and is absolutely delighted that when Izzy's small he can help make that go away - so you'd usually catch him giving in to Izzy's food demands far before Stede.

Stede, however, is really concerned about Izzy's eating habits! of course, it's fine and good to have safe foods, but Izzy has trouble eating to the point where he isn't eating much at all, which Stede cannot have. Ed will let him have his sliced plain bread for every meal, but Stede will sit with him and get him to eat at least half the plate of curry & rice that Roach made for them before he'll give in. So far it's succeeded in giving Izzy some other food that he knows he can enjoy, and is teaching him that it's okay to eat more than your allotted rations on The Revenge.

and yes yes!!!! when Izzy goes nonverbal, which is quite often, Ed is well experienced in his specific type of sign language, easily able to distinguish what he means within a few moments (much to Stede's bewilderment, who is struggling to understand half of the thing's Izzy's saying, much to the boy's annoyance). He's cool with Izzy pointing at things and poking at his cheeks and mouth to convey what he's trying to say, or even just reading his general body language to see what he needs, if he's feeling sleepy or hungry or overwhelmed. Stede, who is trying is damndest and still failing, is trying to encourage Izzy to communicate more. They're still unsure if Izzy's going nonverbal because he's comfortable and happy or because he's feeling vulnerable and scared, so Stede is really working on making Izzy at least try to communicate clearly, with a clear set of signs (closer to sign language than the ridiculous shapes Izzy tries to make with his hands normally), or even a super quiet whisper into Stede's ear.

They're complete opposites when it comes to everything else though lol. Stede will coddle Izzy and let him whine and moan through bath time and bedtime, let him fall asleep whenever he wants, while Ed will just pick Izzy up under the arms and sling him away if he's getting pissy for no good reason. Ed is definitely the no nonsense parent between the two of them, the bad cop, though to everyone else's standards he's still a huge softie.
