The magic of Majoras Mask is trying to comfort characters who are grieving their future through little acts of kindness. Like, the simple but layered juxtaposition of the joy of marching the chicks around on the third day to a little ocarina tune while the game vibrates every few minutes to signify that the moon is closer and closer to falling....

You know what, I've read enough fanfic. I'm confiscating Madame Yu from you guys
Free my girl- she did the things she's being accused of, but not as frequently or severely as the fandom pretends, her actions are being taken out of context, and her depth is being reduced to that of a Colleen Hoover antagonist

i think i’ve learned a lot when it comes to not applying my own values to the media i consume
for my script analysis class yesterday, we discussed two gentleman from verona, and nearly every classmate of mine was up in arms about how sexist the story is.
and i'm not saying it's not, or that it's not infuriating to read. but i'm also not putting my energy into getting upset about something written 500 or so years ago. and i'm not about to put my own beliefs onto these characters that are not me. i'm going to let their choices speak for themselves, and interpret it in the context of the story.
all that said, this now brings me to the point of alastor in episode 5, and how viscerally people are responding to it. those of you up in arms about the choices he’s making, and the violent threat he gave husk, you’re missing the entire point of his character, of this place they’re in, of the story being told. he’s an overlord, and he became an overlord by killing much bigger overlords and broadcasting their deaths over the radio.
HE IS NOT A GOOD PERSON.
if you started this show with the belief that every character working the hotel is a good person, you’re in the wrong place. watch the good place if you’re looking for a good wholesome story about getting dead sinners into heaven, because that’s not what this show is about.
you’re more than welcome to hate him after seeing the way he exerted power over a being whose soul he owns, but you’re doing the media you’re watching a disservice by writing it off so quickly. if you don’t like to be uncomfortable watching media, watch something else. this is an uncomfortable show, it handles uncomfortable topics, and it’s going to be an uncomfortable ride, and if you’re not up for something like that, then you should take a break from it and pick up something else. you don’t have to get online and defend your own ideals while you watch a show that goes against your ideals.

Is America about to get its first Black woman president?
“My Fellow Americans,
Over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a Nation.
Today, America has the strongest economy in the world. We've made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans. We've provided critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances. Passed the first gun safety law in 30 years.
Appointed the first African American woman to the Supreme Court. And passed the most significant climate legislation in the history of the world. America has never been better positioned to lead than we are today.
I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people. Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We've protected and preserved our Democracy. And we've revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world.
It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.
I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.
For now, let me express my deepest gratitude to all those who have worked so hard to see me reelected. I want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for being an extraordinary partner in all this work. And let me express my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me.
I believe today what I always have: that there is nothing America can't do - when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United States of America.”

Aventurine's gambling motif actually makes his characterization weaker as a whole
It does nothing for his role as a Perservation unit and because he has a tragic backstory (that honestly, by itself, does WAY MORE to sell him as a Perservation unit, re: "May your schemes be forever hidden"), his main appeal is that people can play with what is NOT there!
This isn't a fault of the fans. Fandom does what it does best (speculate)
But from a character design stand point, his character is spread too thin. Hoyo wanted to try to do two things at once; maybe even three things at once, and it really strained his screen time.
If he was just a gambler with no tragic backstory/ an unknown backstory that is also a schemer that turns the tables to reach his goals, that would have been fine. Nice n simple.
If they wanted to keep the tragic backstory so that he can grow up to be someone who utilizes his innate "luck" (given to him via the blessing of his peoples' goddess), knows he has it, and KNOWS how and when to utilize it to become some kind of Big Boss archetype that has NO Connection to the IPC or even if he made an enemy out of the IPC because he out foxed them, that would be a lot more interesting.
But when you try to mash these two ideas together, A gambler who never loses due to his innate luck given to him as a blessing (which honestly takes the risk out of gambling ENTIRELY because he will always win anyways), you will never get the best of either.

just realized that with the combination of the mods Lock Those Doors and Forced Entry, murderfreak can now very literally break into people's houses in the dead of night with a fire axe, and then, of course, axe murder and/or axe freak them. this is enrichment in murderfreak's enclosure

This is a genuine innocent ask
Since ofmd is officially over, where does all the money donated go? This is not just a question for the fandom bit in general when ur raising money for a renewal but it fails.
so i mean, in general when a renewal campaign "fails" we dont usually get the showrunner saying outright "yeah the show isnt getting picked up, im sorry guys." like im pretty sure that most of the time, money that's raised for a campaign like this just gets collected and spent without there ever being an official announcement from the showrunners that fans should stop campaigning.
as far as the money that was raised for the first billboard back in january, all the money that was collected is long gone now bc it was spent on the billboard, the truck, the plane flyover, and the charity donations. and like, everyone who donated to that campaign knew that's where the money was going, and they knew there was a chance that the renewal campaign wouldn't work. so even tho the money they raised is gone, the ppl who donated technically got what they paid for.
when it comes to the second billboard, i have no idea what the plan is there. as far as im aware that fundraising effort is (was??) still ongoing, so djenks saying it's over kinda throws a wrench in that process. im not actually associated w the ppl collecting money for the second billboard, nor have i personally contributed to that campaign (or to the first campaign either, ftr), so i have no input or insight as to what's gonna happen w that money going forward. if u want more concrete info abt what's going on with that money you'd wanna ask @saveofmdcrewmates
from what i can tell tho, there are a few options as to what they could do with the money: they could ignore david's message and run the billboard as planned, they could forget the billboard and donate the money to charity, or they could run the billboard but change the messaging to something else. they might even be able to give some of the money back to the people who contributed?? that might be hard tho, idk what platform they were using to collect the money and i have no idea if they're even able to like, refund people. idk if the people who donated would even want their money back, or if they would rather the money still be used for the billboard, or be repurposed for something else. like i said, i didnt donate and i have nothing to do with the ppl raising the money so it rlly doesn't matter to me at all what happens.

Ok, I need to talk about this scene right here. When Rei almost sinks back into his smoking habit but thinks better of it, and even gives Kazuki his lighter to signify that he is going to quit forever ;v;
Also, while they are talking, Rei says that Kazuki was the one who told him to quit and he seemed a bit confused- asking “Did I say that?” “Did I say that?” We were shown that Kazuki was the one who made him avoid smoking around Miri (using the kitchen fan to pull away the smoke), but I also think that Rei made the conscious effort to quit as long as they had Miri. Which is different than just avoiding smoking inside the house
Also I just wanted to add this pic of them sitting and watching small children’s cartoons all day I CRYY

My biggest beef with free market stuff is the recurring idea of everyone being educated, intelligent, and acting rationally all the time.
People, straight up, do not act rationally. Even educated, intelligent people will do the dumbest, most irrational shit sometimes. You have to account for the irrational behavior, and if you don’t then you’re being just as much of a fantastical utopian as hardline socialists and communists are.
If your economic theory doesn’t acknowledge that people are dumb as fuck more often than not, then the theory is garbage and you should start over and try again.
