I hate the saying "why can't they just be friends" because it's always depicted when there is a gay relationship.

I never see that with the low quality forced straight relationships it is always the gay ones that actually have developed meaningful chemistry

i hate how misogynistic horror is... not thinking abt final girl movies btw i dont watch slashers sorry (i do want to watch texas chainsaw massacre but someone needs to tell me how much on screen gore there is first) mostly talking abt male-lead horror n transgressive fiction, but even still female-lead horror can be misogynistic n male gaze-y like i spit on your grave

Anyways from the books n horror I experience, there's just so often an underlying attitude of misogyny written into it, kinda like the authors saw patrick bateman's sexist rants, words and treatment in american psycho and went, "yes killer men hate women and think of them like this", but they then go and write just... misogynistic stereotypes with no reflection or deconstruction of the attitude, more like treating misogyny like it is a default state in a cruel world of atrocities and 'women are just like that anyways they dont have interesting internal lives' confirmation of their bias.

i think it's time to take a page from the james flint gay agenda manifesto; stop trying to convince people that the queers are not a danger to society, and become a menace to civilisation instead. the real queer agenda should be to overthrow any and all social systems. work in tandem with other marginalised groups and set heteropatriarchy on fire. become ungovernable, ignore social norms, uplift new voices. assimilation should not have ever been the goal. queer people are different. difference is good. the real enemy is conformity. conformity is responsible for every man made horror in history. war, poverty, hate crimes, slavery, genocide, they are all made possible by the existence and desirability of a status quo. remove the desirability of normalcy and you remove the foundation for all systems of suffering. systems work because a majority of people have decided it was in their best interest to uphold them. but is it really? remove the desirability of normalcy and you have no grounds for competition. keep quiet out of fear that the system will decide you are abnormal next, and you are making sure it will. fuck civilisation, fuck normalcy, fuck the status quo.

Headcanon - Between the two directors, it was The Conductor who was first to have an explicitly queer character and same sex couple in a movie. It’s something he does hold above DJ Grooves as while both are gay, Grooves is much, much more open about his queerness than the Conductor is.

Been watching this kdrama recently and the romantic chemistry between the male lead and female lead is just, not there?? I'm only seeing a close teacher student bond and nothing further and tbh that's preferable. please I don't want this to get weird can I please just have a nice well written drama with no romantic plotline

Idk if you've heard this yet but about the mlc source material the show is apparently pretty accurate to the source, except that doesn't really include DFS but mainly just Lianhua and FDB's adventures. So the screenwriter chose to include DFS and made him a major part of the story which made the story progressively gayer!! We're not just imagining stuff!

oh HELLO i did not hear about this!!!! that's so fascinating and i wonder how that adaptation choice was made. imo it does enhance the story to have a full trio leading the cast like that and therefore providing more central dynamics to focus on throughout a case-by-case detective show, and, as you said, makes it all gayer lmao. good to know that all of this to do with di feisheng was very deliberate in the script but they're also balancing that well with the things taken from the source material, as someone with no book knowledge everything in the show feels written seamlessly so far

I think we'd all be better off if we stopped pretending that the popularity of m/m in fandom is because of queer suppression in mainstream media or female sexuality or whatever and just admit it's because fandom is misogynistic and the vast majority of ppl who participate in it just can't get themselves to care about female characters.
