Malice Mizer fue una banda conformada por Mana sama, Gackt, közi, Klaha, Tetsu, Kami, Gaz y Yuki. Fue una banda japonesa de rock y metal gótico visual kei. Estuvo activa desde agosto 1992 hasta diciembre 2001. Fue fundada por Mana sama y Közi.

Su temática fue influenciado por la estetica francesa de la época rococó para después solo seguir la estetica vampire goth.

Malice Mizer tuvo un gran reconocimiento tanto por su música como por sus actuaciones en vivo, con espléndidos trajes históricos y escenografías, piezas de teatro silenciosas que incluyen varias canciones e incluso un ejemplo particularmente notable, el vocalista descendiendo a la Tierra como un ángel caído, solo para ascender nuevamente al final del concierto. A lo largo de su historia, la banda pasó por diferentes alineaciones y tres drásticos cambios de imagen.

Yo conocí Malice Mizer durante la p4nd3m1a donde yo sufría una crisis de identidad. Ellos me ayudaron a descubrir quien soy y a dónde pertenezco. Aunque muchos de mis familiares no aceptan como me visto, mi forma de pensar y mis gustos, gracias al visual kei, a mí me dejó de importar las opiniones de los demás sobre mis gustos.

En lo personal recomiendo mucho escuchar su música, sus letras y melodías son muy diferentes a las bandas goticas de occidente.

Chiqui, I’ve decided to dip my toes into visual kei…what should I know and who should I listen to first?

omg omg what should u know ummm they're all old... and all the info we have abt these men are mostly lies and rumors.. and that vkei isn't a genre per se but more so an aesthetic so the music varies a lot !!! for a first listen i think that dress by buck-tick is a must! and if u like it then move onto kiss me goodbye and romance.. it's a classic early 80's rock sound but they have fun and experiment with it a lot; in this same style of music we have luna sea (a personal favorite) and der'langer. if you prefer quicker drums and ska influences you can listen to janne da arc's sakura and siam shade's 1/3 no junjo na kanjo. if u like punk influences and bad vocalists <3 there's rouage and my favorite song by them is kai neko, penicillin's make love, dir en grey's yokan and lacryma christi's in forest. now if ur into metal I'd recommend dir en grey, but their post-2002 stuff, like their songs fukai, ranunculus and oboro, lynch's entire discography, but especially their song killing cult, and also any song by arlequin and the gazette ! now if ur looking for the true vkei experience aka the victorian looks and sound there's gekka no yakusoku by malice mizer, bara wa utsukushiku chiru by lareine, freya by femme fatale and sanasaku inochi aru kagiri by raphael ... OH and there's this band called kagrra (one of my faves again) for japanese folk metal and to support the feminist movement we have exist'trance <3333

Malice Mizer was visual kei rock band active from August 1992 to December 2001. Formed by guitarists Mana and Közi, the band’s name is an abbreviation of “malice and misery”, extracted from “Nothing but a being of malice and misery.” Their music and themes were characterized by their strong French and classical influences, later moving away from deliberate French romanticism and incorporating Gothic aspects. Malice Mizer was as famous for their music and for their live shows, historical costumes and stage sets. The band has gone through several different lineups and three drastic image changes. We can part for 3 eras: 1992–1994: Tetsu era, 1995–1999: Gackt era and 2000–2001: Klaha era.
