#Giant POV

From the Giant's POV, how would you describe how it might feel to receive a kiss from a Tiny? What specific things might stand out during that experience?
Ooooh I've got a few of these.
Let's break it down by location and we'll get into some specifics from there.
Locations I wanna focus on are Hands and Face[*]
[Face includes head/neck/etc but shhhhh lemme just be sloppy about this I've been drinking]
Hands
(guess who forgot I could do headers until just now)
Fingers and thumbs, particularly the tips, are extremely sensitive. It's how we experience so much of the world around us even if we don't think we are. A tiny kissing the tip of a finger or the thumb... you would (I suppose it still depends on size, there's a point of smolness where it would be difficult or nearly impossible but that's an extreme level of smol) probably experience something like this:
The delicate feeling of pressure from their lips, the tip of their nose possibly. The temperature of their skin and the breaths they take that close to you. If it was a lengthy kiss, it would be even easier to notice as the pressure increased and faded with it-- if they were pulling your hand closer, holding it tighter. You'd feel the heat of their cheek if they turned their after and rested it against your finger or thumb.
Neck/Head
This is where visual gets tricky. Hands, you kind of take for granted that you would probably be able to watch what was happening. What gets me with the neck/head zone is that depending on where they are and how you're oriented, you might not see it coming at all.
We talkin' bout them surprise kisses, mmhmmmm
On the neck, if you're being taken by surprise, I imagine you'd maybe mistake them for an accidental touch of the hand, a poke or a prod at first. It may take one or two before you notice the different in the pressure and can make sense of any other contact being made at the same time. Both of their hands bracing them against you so they have more control of their movements, again that brush of their nose, the pressure from their lips... you would absolutely notice if they had any facial hair or stubble. Again, the heat of it, and where they're bracing against you any movement you made-- any sharp breath you took could have them flexing and grabbing more with their hands and fingers to find purchase, their face falling against you more with the motions and pressing into you further.
Tiny, feathering kisses like little tiny pokes, as you start to notice them for what they are, they become like electric shocks, lighting up your senses and your attention as they go.
The higher up you go on the neck, the closer you get to the jawline, the cheeks, the ear... that becomes so much more sensitive. Behind and around the ear especially (at least for me, I guess I've never really... asked much if ear shit turns people on as much as it does for me. Shit. Is that weird? god I hope that's not weird. Shit.) you'd be able to tell instantly what was happening, and close the ear you can hear every little sound, the breaths they take before and after, those soft, hot-breath exhales against your skin. Do they hum when they kiss? You'd find out here.
Again, that sensation almost like electric shocks. So fine, so precise a sensation, and so hauntingly specific; you know what it is, you know what it means, and now you know what it feels like. Your mind is awake, and putting so much more into it than you might think you should be able to feel, but... there it is. It's as weighted to you (or more) than anything bigger could be.
What up I gotta pee but I wanna get this done first SO:
Face
Let's get right to the important bits here.
The hands moving around your mouth, maybe running along your chin and jawline, maybe playing in your dimples, maybe simply just trying to hold themselves up and away from you so they can feel control, or they're just trying to grip you in some way, trying to hold you down and pull you into them.
Lips are, as everyone likely knows, so complexly sensitive
They're soft, conforming around what touches them; a palm, splayed fingers, a chin, that feeling of a nose making contact just before or alongside lips that pressing and pushing against your own. Do you hold your breath when this happens? Do you press back or do you freeze, trying not to do too much? Be too much?
You can feel every ounce of heat from their face, you can feel if they part their lips to try to breathe; the air as it comes in and out as much as it can around you. You can feel the muscles of their whole face moving to kiss, to breathe, to speak... to smile against you. If you smile too, you feel numerous new sensations light up as your lips stretch against them, or if you relax and try to kiss them back you feel the wrinkles of your lips push together and create wholly new combinations of all of these miniscule experiences.
You can feel so much, just in a kiss, whether you're reciprocating or not.

Prompt 52
So I’ve seen several catboy Danny prompts, but hear me out: All of Amity becoming so ecto-contaminated that everyone becomes something akin to a mythological creature. And Danny? He becomes a Nekomata- a two-tailed cat that was said to be able to shapeshift into humans for mischief, including straight up haunting people and stealing corpses. Vlad ends up a kitsune- which is already associated with taking on human forms to seduce people and with things such as foxfire and possession. Tucker ends up a sphinx sort of creature- “It’s not fair you guys can just float around while I have to figure out how to use these stupid wings when I could be coding!”- and Sam ends up a dryad of some sort, they aren’t entirely sure what but that’s what they joke it is so…
The people sent to investigate this city are more than slightly freaking out.

g/t and hrt?? anyone?
(none of the below is intended to be romantic unless you want it to be! interpret this how you wish)
from the giant’s pov;
the tiny sitting on their shoulder, patting their cheek and telling them how brave they are, etc. while administering their shot
the tiny being the one to put the band aid on and giving it a little healing kiss
them scooting around the giant’s leg afterwards, carefully massaging the area so it isn’t so sore later
the giant scooping the tiny into their hands and holding onto them like a lifeline (because needles scary), but being careful not to squeeze too tight
the tiny wrapping their arms tightly around the giant’s finger to keep them grounded and present, chirping sweetly about how it’s all over and they did great and how proud they are
when the giant is having mood swings and really bad pms, the tiny is always acting as their anchor, telling them to look at them and having this magical ability to almost instantly calm/reassure them
the little guy not minding being used as a fidget toy when their big buddy is feeling particularly anxious
“soon enough you might even be almost as big and strong as me!”
(e alternative)
“you might even be as cute as me someday”

A while ago you were eaten by an eldritch creature who you thought was just a regular person.
You thought it was going to all be over, but instead of landing in a stomach, you found yourself in another world. A peaceful land made up of forests and meadows. Plentiful, full of nuts and berries that were easy to forage.
One day you hear a voice, it’s your friend. The one who ate you. They ask if you’re doing alright. You say yes. They let you know that you are actually in their stomach. But they aren’t going to digest you.
You don’t know when you’re going to get let out, but you choose to accept your new life. You live peacefully, foraging in the day, and at night sleeping under stars that don’t quite match the ones you’re used to.
Over time the environment grows more hostile; there’s less food available, and the landscape is more harsh and uninviting. You wonder if it’s because your friend is getting hungry, and you wonder if they’re going to take back their promise about not digesting you.
Not long after that thought, a huge beast seems to drop out of the sky, landing in front of you. Many eyes lock onto you. It’s bigger than any animal on earth, it’s horrifying, and it’s angry.
You scream. Luckily, your friend can hear you.
“What’s wrong?”
“There’s something here” you reply
“Oh, sorry,” your friend says, “that’s my lunch.”
That is a big lunch.
“It’s not bothering you, is it?” they ask, concerned. “Hold on, I’ll try to digest it faster.”
Suddenly the earth opens up under the creature. In the cracks are a molten kind of liquid. Hundreds of vines grasp over it, dragging it down into the soil. Covering it up mostly, until it looks like a mountain that keeps twitching and wriggling.
You thank your friend for the help, and they tell you it’s no problem (with a strangely satisfied tone in their voice).
Over the course of the next few days (or longer? You’re finding it hard to keep track of time), the bulge in the earth that was lunch is gradually flattened out. As this happens, the landscape improves; berries start growing for you again. The sun is less blistering. The lakes and streams are clearer.
You’re happy things are better. But if that creature was lunch, you’re scared to think what will happen when it gets closer to dinner time.

Melisandre is one of my favorite minor POVs mostly because of how GRRM plays with the all-powerful mage trope. See the deconstruction with her is that despite her antics, she’s actually very powerful and all her visions are legit. It’s just that she absolutely sucks at interpreting said visions, mostly because she has all these preconceived notions and is very stubborn about them. And even when the answer is staring right at her (literally), she just doubles down. And it can be very frustrating as a reader, to be quite honest.
Like she’s been super gung ho about Stannis Baratheon being Azor Ahai/the Prince that Was Promised, though only R’hllor know why, to the extent that she will flat-out ignore any evidence to the contrary. Her visions in ADWD essentially scream that Azor Ahai is someone different (not Stannis!) but good ol’ Mel just won’t budge.
There’s this very hilarious interaction in Jon’s 10th ADWD chapter that essentially spells out all of her problems with visions and prophecy, with Jon serving as the reader’s proxy in some ways.
This interaction happens during Alys Karstark’s wedding feast and Patchface drops some of his weird jingles, which Mel very unsettled by. So she’s turns to Jon and is like, “ugh that dude is so creepy, all my visions tell me so”. And Jon’s reaction to this is super funny, because he’s like:
“You see fools in your fire, but no hint of Stannis?”
Wow Jon lmao
He just had to call her out like that, unprovoked. But his frustration makes sense. He’s constantly been asking about Stannis’ whereabouts but Mel’s responses just aren’t very satisfactory (in his opinion).
Then we get this next line which really just says everything about Mel’s stubbornness and perfectly embodies the deconstruction of the all-powerful seer trope.
“When I search for him all I see is snow.”
So Mel looks for Stannis, whom she believes to be Azor Ahai, in her fires but doesn’t find him. Instead she sees “snow”. And this part tracks with her POV too. We know from her chapter that she constantly sees Jon in her visions. It’s how we get the very interesting “I pray for a glimpse of Azor Ahai, and R’hllor shows me only Snow” line.
So one would think that Mel might go: “Hmmm I look for the prophesied savior, but I don’t see Stannis. Instead, I only see Snow. I don’t doubt R’hllor’s power so if my visions are true, then maybe I need to rethink a few things”.
One would think…
But nope!
And Jon’s like “Hey maybe you’re not seeing Stannis because he’s super dead, ever think about that Mel?” And she proceeds to spout the usual Azor Ahai stuff and even mentions Dragonstone:
“When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone. Dragonstone is the place of smoke and salt.”
To which Jon’s replies, “uhhhh news flash Stannis was not born on Dragonstone so that doesn’t track”.
Obviously this is Jon’s skepticism but I like to think that he took the reader’s place here. Because many of us have asked ourselves, why oh why would Mel think of Stannis just because she saw Dragonstone? Like yeah, he’s the Lord of Dragonstone but he wasn’t born there. It’s quite a valid question and how does Mel counter it? She doubles down and twist herself into a pretzel to make Stannis fit (even though he doesn’t fit at all!)
Really, Jon’s reaction is essentially what would happen if someone dropped me into the world of ASOIAF and gave me the chance to meet Mel and ask her a few questions. I’d be quite frustrated, just as Jon is here. And to be fair, the reader has a lot of auxiliary information (e.g., Jon’s parentage) that Mel doesn’t have.
But then the next few lines really illustrate just why poor Mel can be so frustrating. Because Jon’s follow up is,
“And what of Mance? Is he lost as well? What do your fires show?”
And what does Mel say?
“The same, I fear. Only snow.”
…??!
Mel!😭
Seriously, I cannot! This is the exact same situation as with Stannis. She looks for a king but only sees Snow. This makes me wonder then, based on previous wording, if she’s specifically looking for “the King Beyond the Wall” (not just “Mance”) and only seeing Snow - at this point, Jon has all but supplanted Mance.
So once again, one would think that Mel would go: hmmmm I look for the King Beyond the Wall but I see Jon Snow and not Mance Rayder. Seeing that Mance’s power has been diminished and Jon Snow is now taking control of the wildlings, maybe I should re-evaluate a few things”.
Yeah, one would think…
Homegirl is trying her best, she really is. But sadly, her best can only get E for Effort.
And at this point the reader is just done with Mel, and Jon is too:
“You are seeing cinders dancing in the updraft.”
He doesn’t even bother to phase it as a question lmao. He just calls her out and doesn’t care.
And we’re in his POV so he’s thinking of the lower case “snow”. Also, why in the hell is Mel referring to Jon like this?
Anyway, this is why I think Jon serves as the reader’s proxy in this conversation because it’s like a thinking exercise (facilitated by the narrative) that ultimately goes nowhere because Mel is so, so stubborn.
Because if we really break it down:
R’hllor/the Narrative: Who do you see when you search for the king/Azor Ahai?
Mel: Jon Snow
R’hllor/the Narrative: Ok…and who do you see when you search for the King Beyond the Wall?
Mel: Erm, Jon Snow…
R’hllor/the Narrative/the Reader: Great! So say it with me. The king you’re looking for is J-
Mel: STANNIS BARATHEON!
R’hllor/the Reader: …?!
And before anyone claims that this is a misdirect, Mel really is seeing Jon Snow. Straight from the horse’s mouth:
“I am seeing skulls. And you. I see your face every time I look into the flames.”
Friend….I don’t even know what to say anymore…
