The steel string guitar is finished! This is a small jumbo designed by @behradng … we started building this guitar early into COVID and through many starts and stops, it is finally finished. It was quite a journey getting here and I learned a lot along the way. I’m incredibly happy with the results. Behrad is a great teacher and now friend who builds beautiful guitars. If you’d like to build one of your own check out Toronto Lutherie. This guitar has a beautiful Sitka spruce soundboard with Indian Rosewood back and sides. The neck in mahogany with ebony fretboard and bridge. The tuners are Gotoh 510’s. It sounds amazing and I’ll post some sound clips ASAP. Squier Modding or Buying A New Guitar

Squier Modding or Buying A New Guitar I am a self produced artist and I also mix and engineer for myself and I like playing with my instruments too but I’m also tryna find a unique sound to my music but also not spend crazy amounts of money unless it’s necessary.I’m tryna find a way to find my sound and I’m thinking of modding my one and only electric guitar that I have rn and which it’s also my first guitar that I’ve been using for like three years which is a SquierBut I don’t know if I should mod it or buy a new guitar with an already set and distinct sound to itself.If I was to buy a new guitar it would be between an Epiphone Firebird, A Fender Stratocaster, or a Jagstang. (Assume that I would buy most of these used)If I was too mod my Squier I would change the tuners to some gotoh tuners, a gotoh 510 bridge or vegatram (both are floating bridges), change the chrome and silver parts to gold. The pickups would go something like this, a Les Paul humbucker at the neck pickup, a reverse lipstick tele pickup in the middle, and a mini humbucker on the bridge pickup. If I have to settle between having a humbucker on both neck and bridge or mini humbucker in neck and bridge I would choose the mini humbucker if I can’t have both separate pickups. The pickups would be gold.I’m trying to figure out which would be worth the money and time, but im also tryna have some flair n style n uniqueness to my sound to my production in music and I don’t know if changing the parts would do me any good and save me some time to buying and going through new guitars or if I should just switch guitars and just have 2 guitars on standby whenever I want to change between smooth or rocky.The options are modding my squier or buying a new one please give me some recommendations on what I could do to find a unique sound.And give me some recommendations on parts if your for the modding. When using the stock threaded inserts, it may be potentially difficult to get the bridge height really low, but for my application it was a perfect fit. High quality fully adjustable wraparound from Gotohs flagship 510 range. This bridge feels great under the palm and is a drop in replacement for PRS SE wraparound bridges. Great looking and solid, haven’t installed it although confident that it performs great. Otherwise I feel these are the most solid and attractive wrap around bridges out there. ebony headstock facing > Bridge: Gotoh wraparound bridge with adjustable A/D and G/B string section > Electronics: Lindy Fralin humbucking pickups made. And lastly, the string exit the bridge on the bottom (as opposed to the back) so replacing strings can be a pain if the bridge is tight to the body. On one installation I got the action low enough with the retaining clips installed and the other I had to remove the clips and screws to get the bridge low enough. These screws prevents the bridge from lowering fully tight to the body if you need it to. First, the clips that hold the bridge to the posts are mounted underneath the bridge with a pair of small retaining screws. However two small design issues to be aware of. @taylorguitars upgraded 214ce-K (2013). Upgrades Include: Bone nut, Bone saddle, Gotoh 510 tuners, and ebony bridge pins. Hopefully I’ll be replacing the ES-T pickup for the ES2 pickup once I can work out the logistics & finances. I love this guitar. So many memories. This guitar is now in the hands of it’s new owner.  It's another in a growing list of "Basket Case" guitars that I've transformed into killer instruments - by adding the TLC it never got at the factory, and undoing the subsequent disrespect.  When these pictures were taken, I was waiting for the new tuners (Gotoh 510), and I had to make a new back cover. I've had the neck off a second time to shave the pocket and adjust the angle even further, giving the bridge more adjustment range if it ever needs it in the future.   It also increases the angle between the body and neck for that "Gibson Feel".Every time I've worked on a Gibson SG, and in this case - a Silvertone SG, and then play them (before giving them back to the owners), I'm like...."WOW" I like this damn thing. Basically they are the same as a Les Paul down the middle where it counts, but the body is so much lighter, making the guitar so much more balanced while playing it.  This one even more so with it's light weight Basswood body.The back control cavity shows the new copper shielding.  This install looks cleaner then usual since all the grounding is via the copper, meaning I didn't need to run all those extra wires.  All the solder point are Hot.   I did solder a bare wire across all the copper just to make sure everything is connected since I suspect the glue on the copper could prevent full electrical connection.The guitar on the right of the SG is my Korean made Fender Tele, and on the left is my flame Macassar Ebony capped Dickert Tele, made right here in Kilbride.
