It was a standoff situation. The open hatch was between her and the survivor and they both just stared at each other for a moment. Harley had been sat on the hood of one of the cars that littered auto haven when the hatch opened in front of her. It wasn't even her trial but she'd been bored out of her mind and decided to sneak in to one. Now it seemed she stood, well sat, between the last survivor and their freedom.

The question had been posed as the girl stood there across from her. "Dontcha think that's a bit of a loaded question? Obviously I'm not a survivor, but you haven't met me yet in a trial so you're really at a disadvantage on whether or not I'm nice enough to not out your location — or just try to close the hatch myself which I don't know if that would even work since this isn't my trial." Her right pointer finger tapped her chin. "I'm gonna say that I saw nothing and that you better leave before Mr. Ghostface gets over here because I'm pretty sure I just saw his mask in the distance."

Or that one time that Peter was hanging out with Harley in the busy NYC streets when a drunk man decided it was the best idea to slap Pete’s ass and holler at him right in front of Harley(‘s salad)

Cue the immediate fight that ensued between drunkman and southern boy that eventually Peter had to step into (bcs he’s Spider-Man goddamit) that landed them in jail within less than 30 minutes.

Harley think’s Peter looks really cute all scuffled up and Peter is having like 6 different panic attacks about the irony of being Spider-Man and being IN JAIL.

Don’t worry guys Iron Dad DOES bail them out (more like collects his cute blackmail material)(you know just in case they set the lab on fire … Again.)

i hope straight ppl realise one day that this idea that joker and harley are in love is supposed to be a tragic ruse in the comics. it’s pretty obvious that harley does love joker, but not the other way around. he just sees her as another henchman that he can manipulate and abuse. the only thing he really loves is batman, but that’s more of an obsession. i don’t think the joker is capable of feeling genuine affection for another, in canon at least.

so can we please never have another suicide squad incident where joker and harley are a legit couple, that’s not what they are. that’s why i like the harley quinn show where she leaves him to find her true self and be with ivy

tl;dr for the uninitiated: what if all homestuck characters were chinese people

John Egbert: 光勇 (Guang Yong). Lives in Beijing (im sorry /j). Han, Mongolian, and some Korean ancestry.

egbert means "bright edge" and guang means "bright" and also sounds a little like john even if its the surname. john means god is gracious, which is not really a type of name chinese people give their kids so i just went with a common masculine name that sounds good with guang: yong, which means "brave" which i thought was fitting. i think dad egbert definitely calls them by the diminutive yongyong.

June Egbert might choose the name 小玉 (Xiaoyu), meaning "little jade", in reference to her sister.

Rose Lalonde: 刘秀兰 (Liu Xiulan). Lives somewhere in Jiangsu, probably Shanghai. Hmong, Jewish Han, and Kazakh ancestry.

i literally just went with a random common surname that vaguely sounded like lalonde here. xiulan means elegant orchid, so it's a flower name like rose and i think it fits her vibes. she shares the character xiu with roxy's name, tianxiu.

transmasc rose probably steals his name from a book character.

rose is very similar to canon i think, except she lives in a penthouse in central shanghai. i want to say initially she feels her heritage doesn't matter to her but later in life she tries to reconnect with not being "100% han".

Dave Strider: 赵大伟 (Zhao Dawei). Lives in Chongqing. Hmong, Jewish Han, and Kazakh ancestry (same as Rose).

zhao has a similar meaning to strider and was also a surname of the emperors so it has a connection to royalty. this works for both the lotr reference and king david. dawei is... a generic chinese boys name thats the name you give your kid if you want their english name to be david. it means "extraordinary".

david means "beloved" and every single chinese name like that is feminine. Dove Strider takes this as inspiration for the name Xinyan, spelled either 心燕 meaning "beloved swallow" or 心焱 meaning "beloved flame" instead of the more conventional 心妍 meaning "beloved beauty".

dave struggles with their cultural heritage more actively than rose does, and thus leans hard into their sichuanese identity. i headcanon them as making fun of chengdu (chongqing's rival in representing the cultural center of sichuan) in addition to making fun of northern chinese culture. SICHUAN RAHH

Jade Harley: 林玉平 (Lin Yuping). Lives in rural Shaanxi. Han, Mongolian, and some Korean ancestry (same as John).

lin has similar meaning to both harley and halley, meaning grove/forest. yuping means "peaceful jade".

Jude Harley might choose the name 洋 (Yang), meaning "ocean" in the sense of expansive, or he might not feel a need to change his name. swapping names with his sibling is also a possibility.

i think her upbringing just translates to the rural northwest well? also i think its kinda cool she'd grow up near a section of the great wall of china. i could see her engaging in cultural traditions like papercutting and folk singing :> also buddhist jade real and true im not projecting trust

I was so inspired by @devilst0at sharing their amazing dale headcanons that I wanted to post some of my own.

So here are some soft/romantic dale headcanons cos I can’t get him out of my mind lol

• He loves to Eskimo kiss, especially as a form of greeting you or saying goodbye to you.

• He likes doing your makeup. You bring up the idea and he jumps at the chance. After a time it becomes a common occurrence. A loving ritual between the two of you.

• He likes when you put all your weight on him. After years of being so touch starved the idea of someone being his own personal weighted blanket makes him cry. Whether you’re laying on top of him, sitting in his lap or asking him to carry you, he delights in it all.

• He loves deep kisses. Just put your arms around his neck or cup his cheekbones and pull him towards you. He’ll kiss you for hours.

• He loves to have his hair, cheeks, lips and nose touched/stroked. Gentle touches make him very emotional and you taking the time to display your affection for him in this way makes him feel loved and even closer to you.

• He likes to go for drives with you in the passenger seat next to him. The two of you share a love of music and often sing for hours in the car together until your voices get sore. During these drives he usually has his hand in yours or he reaches over every few minutes to squeeze your thigh.

• He likes slow dancing with you. Especially if you initiate it. He finds it calming and very comforting to have you so close to him.
