Also I like that the MLP movie was allowed to have twilight make a massive fuck up. In the moment I was annoyed but then the reality of how desperate she was getting really hit and I'm okay with her being selfish; I like when characters need to grow!

The Irish Vanner!
Normally, they are know by their other name which is normally used as a derogatory term against the Romani people, but why call them that when you can call them the Irish Vanner? Or Tinker Horse? Or Irish Cob, Traditional Cob, or even Galineers Cob? I love Tinker Horse personally, so cute n silly!
Here is a silly little fun fact about these beauties! They can grow mustaches!
Such silly lil things!
These horses came from Ireland and Great Britain. They are a cross between native ponies and drafties, making them great for pulling carts n carriages.
Ok, shorter post, will probably make a longer one about them later, but for now! Thank you for coming to my horsie talk

Someone give me $4000, and then ... Many more monies for boarding ... So I can get this super cute Percheron cross yearling filly.
Bit wonky right now but she's a yearling.
One day. One day I will get a cute Percheron X mare. My absolute dream would be to start one from this sort of age, almost completely positive reinforcement trained (some things would have to be done more traditionally for safety if other people are handling her).
Everyone always thinks it's weird that my dream horse is a Percheron X mare ... But my two absolute favourite horses were that. So. I don't want the fanciest jumper or whatever. Just a sweet, reliable lady whose comfortable to sit on and can play around with different disciplines. I'm a larger person, so I do need a bigger horse, and I have been the most comfortable on draft crosses in general. I'd do a Clydesdale X instead of Percheron, since I've ridden and loved some of those too. But I think Percheron X would still be #1. Heck I'd go straight Percheron, but doubtful I'd find a quality affordable one.
If I'm ever in the position to actually buy a horse, it will really come down to the individual horse though, more than breed. I will probably only look at draft crosses, ideally mare but I could go gelding if I found perfection. The personality and conformation are going to be most important. And good feet. Drafts have trash feet in general. I want a pleasant horse whose going to stay sound.

CEE YOU BRILLIANT BRAIN, HELLO AND HUGS, I have a request.
The company I work for does a bi-annual "Fun Day" celebration where you're encouraged to sign up for activities you've never tried, in order to 1) engage with nature/community and 2) become a more well-rounded person (can you guess which US state I'm from? lol).
You best believe I signed up for horseback riding the minute I saw the option. I was thrown off a horse as a small Jules, and while I'm not exactly scared to try again, I would LOVE some beginner's tips if you have any to share. 🩵 I will be channeling my inner Pedro cowboys. We ride at dawn next Friday.
JULES! I'm so so excited for you! First of all, falling off a horse can be very scary, so good on you for not letting that stop you from trying again! So, I answered an ask recently with some tips for an anon who is starting classes, it covers all the basics! Some more tips below the cut 🥰
So, let's start with what to wear. I ride the English way, so jodhpurs and riding boots are uniform, but of course, Western riders wear jeans and cowboy boots. I wouldn't go with jeans that are too loose-fitting just so they won't catch on anything. I wouldn't wear anything thinner than denim, stirrup straps can pinch and bruise if you don't have any chaps on!
It matters less what you wear on top, but in general, I would advise short or long sleeves with a collar for sun protection, and also touch wood, if you do fall, it offers more protection than a tank top! Again, don't wear anything too loose-fitting or with bits that flap, horses are silly and can spook at anything.
For shoes, if you have ankle boots with a low heel, go with them. The heel will stop your feet from going through the stirrups, which could happen if you're a beginner.
I'm sure the riding place will provide a suitable riding hat, so you'll be covered there! But always wear a helmet, it can save your life. You probably won't need gloves if it's just a fun casual session, but if you have sensitive hands, you could probably borrow some from the riding place.
So there you go! I hope you have the best time Jules, if you have any other questions, I'm here!
P.S. Actually no I can't guess which US state you're from, the non-American in me doesn't get the reference 🙈
