No-one listens to my rants about the books i read in real life so I'll gladly subject to all of you on here to it >:)

i. the best book you've read so far: Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb. (Read it once and re-read it again)

ii. the best sequel you've read so far: Act your age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

iii. book that made you cry: The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. (But I'm an easy crier so there were many more)

iv. book that made you happy: Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman (re-read cuz i found the full cast audiobook)

v. biggest disappointment: BI: The Hidden Culture, History, and Science of Bisexuality by Julia Shaw. (It wasn't bad, i just expected it to be much more insightful and informative)

vi. biggest surprise: The Route Of Ice And Salt by José Luis Zárate. (Everyone should get their hands on this queer retelling of dracula from a mexican author)

vii. newest fictional crush: Jacob Wayne from Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert. (Would burn down cities for him)

viii. favourite new author: Robin Hobb

ix. most anticipated new release of the second half of the year: Compound Fracture by Andrew Joseph White. (Already read an ARC and can't wait to re-read it the second it comes out)

x. books you need to read before the end of the year: The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel van der Kolk. Royal Assassin and Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb. Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas.

this guy.

he's just a massive prick with no redeeming qualities. he isn't even an asshole in a charming way like most characters that share his archetype, he's just casually racist and misogynist and overall downright rude. his support chain with dedue nearly made me see red and even though i don't even care for ingrid and even dislike her on most days, the way he talks to her in their support was just so uncalled for.

i cannot stress enough that these are the first lines of their C support. christ. and then the ingrid support...yeesh:

good fucking lord.

and yeah, on some level i get it. the guy has trauma. that sucks. wouldn't wish it on anyone. but like..... he's not the only one. every single character in FE3H ALSO has trauma and none of them really get on my nerves like this guy. he's just so fucking insufferable to me and i can't really explain it. i don't even have much proof of his assholery beyond this because i benched him pretty fucking quick tbh. 🧍

other (completely personal) reasons that i hate him include:

he is constantly shipped with sylvain to the point where seeing sylvain art WITHOUT him is a rarity. since sylvain and dedue are the only blue lions i actually love profusely this is insult to injury. to me.

idk why i just really don't like his voice or hair lmao

ever since felix arrived on the scene everyone dumped the earlier myrmidons in the garbage for their shiny new toy despite him being a vastly inferior choice

actually that last point might be the biggest for me. by all accounts, i *should* enjoy felix. he's an edgy sword boy with dark hair and a brooding attitude with a dark past. i think he can even learn lethality if you don't bench him like i did. and yet. and yet...i just hate him so much. so fucking much. i hope he has an inheritable sword when his brave alt drops in FEH so i can feed him to lon'qu (the better sword boy 💖)

Currently thinking about how in my current Fire Emblem Three Houses run when I recruited Felix to Golden Deer, Sylvain showed up in my classroom the literal next day and asked to join my house… I didn’t even have a high support level with him or any proficiency in the skills he likes… not to mention I think the only time I spent with him was I took him to tea for his birthday and it didn’t even go well because I forgot his correct options from when I played Blue Lions route…

Lucious Route Chapter 4 (6-10)

Last time on the Lucious route, Liz and Lucious rolled a collective 6 on their stealth check, but Hugo rolled a natural 1 so he didn’t notice them following him, Hugo does a lot of expository monologues for literally no one other than the audience, Remy shows up in the form of Taffy, and I finally snap due to the insanity of Lucious’s outfit. Not necessarily in that order.

So Lucious calls Liz “too nice” and tells her to go back to Alfonse and Caesar because what is a Wizardess Heart route without a man patronizing Liz. Liz refuses because fuck you Lucious.

My points still stands.

So then Hugo finally notices these really unstealthy people. He calls Liz the Goddess of Time and states that his job is to protect her and free Lucious, but not today. He warns them against getting in his way if they want to get what they want. Or maybe that was only directed at Lucious, the wording wasn’t super clear.

Lucious briefly morphs into Peter Griffin, and the disembodied voice of Hugo informs them that their free trial of the pocket of time they’re in is about to expire.

So Liz and Lucious escape the collapsing time dimension and Liz recounts what she knows about Hugo, which is essentially just his cameos in the other routes, and can’t pin down his motivations, which I guess means she hasn’t been listening to his monologues because he literally already spelled out his motivations last week.

Lucious tells Liz he’s looking forward to being free and asks her to be his guide to the new world, and

I cannot believe the dichotomy of these two options. I literally can’t believe this is a choice. Just fuckin “find someone else.” What even happens if you say that???

This is what happens if you pick the right option, but if you pick the “find someone else” option Liz herself points out that she may not be the best option in an objective way, not a self-deprecating way, so ironically “find someone else” is the LESS caustic option.

And then Liz is somewhat turned on by Lucious just fucking shouting about Hugo at the air. Liz realizes they’re still Holding Hands but then serendipitously sees Claudia’s portrait in the background.
