i just rlly like the concept of kabru, who knows everything about body language vs izutsumi being a cat as well so human body language can only get him so far. plus shes rlly blunt with her feelings. and prone to violence. if she ever had to go to some fancy event kabru would be sweating the entire night praying to some higher power she doesnt cause an international incident. and then he notices she's been watching one guy the entire night and hes like "oh fuck" and quickly heads over and tries to get her attention elsewhere b4 she just goes "that guy has a knife" and NOW kabru has an assassination attempt on his hands.

after that nightmare, when he finally gets to retire to his chambers and like. drink 5 shots of whiskey or smth, izutsumi is already in his room taking up as much space as possible on his bed and hes like "fuck me this is Not happening" and tries to convince her to go to marcille's room or laios' even but shes like "nuh uh" and hes just "FUCK do you mean 'nuh uh'". then he gives up and resigns himself to a night of tail in his face and claws digging into his pant leg.

Every day, I get more and more embarrassed to say that I enjoy Helluva Boss (despite the many MANY flaws) and that I'm excited for Hazbin Hotel.

I've been following both of these projects since the pilots were released and I've happily keeping up with all the new episodes of Helluva and with all the Hazbin announcements.

But of course, because of the nature of both projects, the humor, the artsyle, the release nature, the pilots being released on YouTube, it attracted a HUGE audience who think they're entitled to do and say anything they want. Not to mention how many vitriolic haters it attracted too.

You can't defend the new cast without people loosing their shit over how the new cast "doesn't fit the characters like the pilot cast". People can't defend the new cast without putting down the pilot cast either as seen with people bashing Michael Kovach for being a bad singer when that isn't objectively true.

We can't go one week with some Vivziepop anti on Twitter pulling false accusations out of their ass trying to bash Vivenne Medrano for being a horrible witch who doesn't pay her team.

You can't criticize ANYTHING Vivienne Medrano does or any aspect of her shows without a legion of diehard stans who defend her every move and every writing decision made even tho the writing in Helluva Boss is objectively a mess.

The closer Hazbin gets to its release date the more rapidly people spew out hate from BOTH SIDES and its ruining the experience for those of us who just want to have a good time.

This is like the Voltron fandom but worse and Hazbin hasn't even been fucking released yet. I'm ready to just watch the show and stay in my lane without interacting with the fandom because this shit is exhausting. I've never seen so much drama over a show that hasn't EVEN BEEN RELEASED YET. I wanted to get Hazbin merch but now I don't want to cause I don't wanna be associated with the mountains of shit both the fandom and the hatedom continue to cause.

Fuck this. I was excited for Hazbin's release and now I'm honestly dreading it. So much for faithfully following the series for like 5 years.

a lot has happened in the past couple of weeks. i submitted my thesis, finished my MA 🎉. i feel like professionally i am very qualified to go elsewhere but unfortunately the jobs that I want just aren't hiring at the moment, and i don't want to/financially can't move to a different regional job market. but work has been a clusterfuck more than usual. due to management's poor planning i have to execute an impossible feat in a little over a month, and i am deeply resentful and upset by this because it could have been conveyed with simple communication months ago.

part of this impossible feat involves all of staff boxing up their shit and relocating and i have this remote worker who wants me to clean out her office (not my job) because she doesn't want to come in to do it herself. it's not like she moved across the country. she still lives in the same city. she's extremely entitled but she talks a lot of big talk about DEI and equity and i want to put her (and management) on blast. it's racial capitalism. like why do you continue to view people of color, like myself as labor? i am at the same grade band or higher than you and i have one more degree than you do??? absolutely astounding.
