👀 Gender headcanons?

So my sexuality response was all encompassing and the truth is for the most part I don't have as many gender HCs for superheroes as I do sexuality. Still here's some that I enjoy

Trans!Peter Parker. There's a lot of this in the context of the MCU but there's a great tasm fic I like too and I think all Peter Parkers give off major Gender vibes. I don't even know what he's transitioning to

Trans!Tim Drake!!! This is moderately popular among batfam fans and I personally adored it so much I put it in my own fic. He just. He's such a guy, you know? He gives off transgender dude vibes

Trans!Jason Todd is something I'm wishy washy on, like sometimes I vibe with it and sometimes I don't, but when I do it's just the best thing. He does give off the vibes of someone who's preforming gender really really hard

I like non binary dick :) pun unintended I swear

Deadpool is canonically gnc but I like to think of wade as a he/she genderqueer that doesn't fuck with labels too much

That's it :) it's a short list but I'm way more passionate about these than a lot of the "everyone is bisexual bro just trust me on this" HCs. It's also way less of a headache to tag

Stupid The Magnus Archives headcanon #7

OG Elias was trans (look I headcanon a lot of the characters as trans or GNC what else do you want from me. This isn’t what this is about). Never got surgery because his father didn’t approve of it and so couldn’t afford to do it.

When Jonah took over, suddenly he was trans too, he hated it. A body that wasn’t his, that’s not an uncommon issue for him, those first years were always a struggle. But this. This was a hell no moment.

He went and got the surgeries immediately, and created a fund for all institute employees to get the surgeries as needed no questions asked.

This is why Martin wanted to work at the institute, easiest and fastest way to get gender affirming care.

SHOWS I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND

Don't look deeper, don't wanna spoil it too much, but yeah black bisexual lead and the story is just so freaking awasome!? Also a trans character played by a trans actor (my thoughts when I watched it) it's a short post tho lol

New Amsterdam, has A LOT of representation and talks a lot about things that fucking matter, a lot of lgbtq+ characters in almost every episode (some main leads are part of the community too, but ngl the story has gone a bit down hill for me but still really great seasons) casey they did u so dirty i love u and miss u

The Dragon Prince, IF THERE WAS A SHOW I WOULD RECOMMEND STRONGER THAN YOUNG ROYALS IS THIS BEAUTY, in s3 two out of the three couples that become canon are queer (mlm and wlw) and we see one of them have a very deep kiss and there's also a non binary character who uses they/them in s3. Overall the show is AMAZING, great characters, voice actors, story, animation, music,... Just give it a shot please honestly it's so. Fucking. Good. I was in aw with this show when watching it, just like Young Royals

Teen Wolf, just rewatched it a few months ago and honestly forgot how funny it was agsndvsjbd and the queer rep isn't that much either but man there's is A LOT of bisexual energy from the main characters (mainly Stiles and Scott lmao) corey and mason my beloved

The Good Place, amazing show and talk about important things too, and yeah a lot of bi energy haha

The Owl House, main character is biracial, bisexual, bilingual and gnc, and quite possibly the most adorable character EVER, parents of one of their bffs has two dads and her mentor is also queer and she is in love with a non binary character who she dated in the past (animated me is Luz, 100% agskdvdjbd)

Yuri on Ice, the only anime I've ever seen and honestly laughed so fucking much, it's HILARIOUS and like every single character here is gay/queer lmao (also a lot of fans headcanon yuri as ace and I honestly see it)

Shows I'm listing because there is rep but the show wasn't that mind blowing for me

Bojack Horseman, mainly because of the asexual representation (cause yeah, there ain't much out there) and I just LOVE his character (full disclosure, the show is fucked up and has a lot of trigger warnings, but still has funny parts)

Gen LOCK, genderfluid character that is so freakin badass, but this show is very meta and might not be for everyone, haven't watched s2 yet tho (Cammie is also so freakin adorable and I hc her as ace lol)

Loki, genderfluid and bisexual, canon in the tv show and quite fun story line (I ship Loki and Mobius so freaking much ughhhh manifesting in s2) SPOILERS but theres an undertheme or smt that he likes his clone and huh yeah that made me uncomfortable so just sayin, those parts made me cringe so much I had to skip them, that's why I placed the show down here haha

Love, Victor, only watched s1 and heard there was a love triangle in s2 so gonna wait till s3 comes out to see if it's worth it lol but yeah, yall probably know it takes place in the Love, Simon movie universe (in the same high school too) although Victors situation is more complicated and not that accepting, he's gay and Half Colombian/Puerto Rican, and I think at the end of s2 a girl is like plainly shown to be bisexual but idk and yes im putting the hug between victor and felix here because felix is such a supporting friend and just pure sunshine and deserves the world

[These took... forever. I promised myself to keep it as simple as possible (and I did... mostly!) but finding 2 second smiles from each of them that relatively matched was hell. Actual scrolly hell. So they’re not perfect... but who cares! Here’s some of my favourite queer sibling headcanons; I mean, usually it’s just everyone is bi across the board end of story but----heheheheh, these are pretty close second place! Plus I’m bored of the same old fanon rules versions that always go around, so I wanted to put some of my own out there that also feel easily canon compliant.

I should note I don’t, and most people don’t, consider gender non-conformity as inherently queer (rather a descriptor, a way of expression for cishets too), but I included it here for a bit more colour, as well as for the fact it might get confused with popular fanon hc of nb klaus. There is also usually no modifications in the bi flag colour ratio for preference reasons, but again it’s just for a bit of fun to illustrate my hcs since bisexuality is so diverse. Lastly, I know the gay flag colours are up for debate, or whether it’s official or necessary, but it’s just used here like the nb to illustrate the hc and add colour.]

I’ll try to list some of the reasons, though keep in mind some are pure headcanon! Some include spoilers so I’ll go game-by-game, from oldest-to-newest

Fire emblem Gaiden/ Fire emblem echoes: Shadows of Valentia 

Saber - Agender: As my friend put it best: Saber lost his gender on a mission and never cared to go look for it. I just think he’s agender, all jokes aside, no much reasoning here!

Sonya - Trans lady: Sonya reveals that her two sisters were turned witches while she was sent away, as a kid. I like to think it’s because her father didn’t know at the time she was a girl. She’s also got great style and she’s a queen, and all trans women are queens, baby.

Genny - Trans non-binary girl: I like to see Genny as enby simply cuz non-binary people aren’t all androgynous. She’s also a super cute character and I love to think about Sonya and her bonding over being transfemmes because their friendships is super cute!

Celica - trans lady: Not in the original post but I’m adding it out of spite; Celica is trans and a wonderful character :)

Fire emblem Path of Radiance / Radiant dawn

Ike - Gay: i know you were referring to trans characters, but since he was included in the post, I decided to include him too. Basically; shows 0 interest in women, only has a platonic relationship with Elincia(?green haired lady), and that shopkeeper whos horny for him doesn’t interest him at all. However, he has two possible “bro” endings, where he elopes with a dude, with Ranulf and Soren! (Some might think it’s a reach, no way there could be a gay character, but keep in mind Jenny, in those games, is canonically a lesbian!)

Soren - Trans man: I just want to preface this by saying that when I discovered those games I was just learning about LGBTQIA+ issues, and some of my reasoning might not be that good, but here goes: the first playthrough I watched, Soren was constantly mistaken for a girl by the guy playing the game. He’s also (spoiler alert!) half beorc, half laguz, and i felt his treatment of society could be very relatable for trans people. There is also the fact that Ike has a great great great grandchild in Awakening, whom I think is also Soren’s (I like to think their paired ending is canonical), so Ike is still gay, he was just able to have a kid biologically with Soren :)

Forrest - Non-binary: I feel this is a touchy one: on one hand, people tend to see this character as just a gender-non-conforming boy, and I think a lot of people like him as is, and some might feel represented. On the other, Ive seen some NB people say his presentation and character reminds them of themselves. I also feel his struggle with his father is something a lot of us can relate to. As a non-binary person, while I respect any headcanon for him, I tend to fall for the latter. Also I’m starving for rep lol.

Byleth - Non-binary: Because I said so. (Nah just kidding the real reason is; everyone uses “they/them” for them anyway and I’m non-binary and playing them and they’re MY avatar. Ergo: they enby :3)

Leonie - Trans woman: When it comes to leonie, I just feel she’s trans, due to constantly having to remind people that she /is/ a girl. That’s a sentiment a lot of trans people share: just having people like “but... you don’t look like one lawl”. I also love the idea of trans girl leonie still being a bit of a tomboy, GNC trans people for the win lol (I also like to think her post timeskip design being pretty different is after 5 years of magic HRT lol)

Yuri - Non-binary: So basically i got super excited seeing the trailers seeing an androgynous character, thinking “THIS IS IT!! FINALLY!! NB REP!!!” But nah. Again you could make the same case as Forrest but I was just so excited,only to be so disappointed, I stick to my guns on that one, as I’m very petty. Yuri also got great style and not to brag but I feel we Enbies do have great style.

Bernadetta - Non-binary: I saw a shitty meme using her once to mock non-binary people, so I decided to have her be enby. Also I related hard to that character.

Dorothea - trans lady: Same as Sonya tbh: she’s majestic. But also: I find it interesting that (slight spoiler ahead) she was thrown in the streets as a child. I know it’s gross, /but/ I think it’s brought up in the game that sometime,s daughters were given away for money: my question is; why not give Dorothea away? Ferdinand’s support shows she was already beautiful when she was young. My answer: her father didn’t know she was a daughter. It also explain why, years later, he did not recognize her.

Manuela - Trans lady: My headcanon for Manuela is kind of an extension of Dorothea’s. I /Love/ the Idea of Manuella being Dorothea’s trans Icon, someone to admire both for her talent and for what she might have gone through. I also love the idea of Manuela seeing a /lot/ of herself in Dorothea, and thus making her her protégée at the opera. Just trans ladies helping each other Bruh.

Dimitri - Trans man: buckle up I kept one of the best for last. (Spoilers ahead!) First of all, his support with Catherine reveals he was very “feminine” as a kid, so much so that Catherine thought he was a girl. Fast forward, as a teen he’s very nice, a trait commonly shared by trans men. What makes me believe he’s trans most is the fact that as an adult, he does not have a beard. This might seem minor, but knowing his father had a lovely one, I find if weird that he does not, especially since we can assume he wouldn’t shave it since he looks...like... /that/, post-timeskip. I think he just has difficulty growing one, Dimitri is trans, change my mind.

So yeah my proof is circumstantial hope u still like it lol, thanks again for the ask anon!

° Wilson is bi with a preference to men, and he's also Non-binary. The way I feel this works in canon is that Wilson stays away from his family to do science stuff (his passion) and also happens to be in his early 30's living on his own in solitude!! (Because i too, would move away to live in solitude to reach for my passion when my homophobic family members is so insistent on their belief that I shall be a good 'wife' to a cis man someday in order to achieve happiness)

-its also basically canon that KLEI had stated somewhere that wilson's big family cares about him alot, and yet he still decides to live in solitude in the middle of nowhere in the era of 19's?? REALLY makes you think... 🤔

-also Klei's statement that Wilson will never be happy. Although I know this is very much just a jokey thing about Wilson's continuous suffering in the constant, I'm just gonna say it's because he lives in a constant state of dissatisfaction. He loves science, and it's the one thing that keeps him going to further explore the things that exists within the world. But in doing so he neglected himself and how he feels as an individual, and then someday while being in the shared constant where he's surrounded by people whos NOT straight and doesn't give a crap about the sanctity of the gender binary (because I've decided that everyone in DST is lgbt HA), the realization just hits him. Hard.

° I mean it's not like he *doesn't* know, kind of doesn't know. He's just the type of guy who discovers things about himself that doesn't sit quite 'rightly' and reacted like "Hm.. quite peculiar.. I'll just let the me from the future deal with it!" And then just bails from the 'maybe I'm fuckin trans/not straight????' thoughts.

°I think somewhere through his lifetime he've probably sworn to never get married. This is the rebellious gay people who lives in society that doesn't allow them to strive pledge. And then he kept having crushes on men and guys he doesn't know what to do these feelings with. Just lock them down, focus on his newest scientific experiments. It's easier to not engage at all.

- but he've known for a looong time that he's not straight, but only now being surrounded by his supportive friends could he actually approach that topic and be like yeah I guess I do like men ! Wow that was it? I mean I still feel heavy but it does... felt good to finally say it and affirm it.

°anyway, nb Wilson is purely indulgent, though I do believe if the laws of the land allows it, Wilson would definitely be an NB character. Reason? First of all, Wilson in his heart, through and through does not give a fuck about the boundary of binary gender that is present in a society. Scientifically for him it's something to observe, kinda fascinating but it as a pivotal point of an organisational community? He thinks it's a loads of bullcrap.

-i think for a while he uses the masculine pronouns (he/him) and refers to himself as cis, though being in the constant he gets to complain about science and the absurdity of social constructs in a VERY loud manner. So the subject kept being brought up at some point, which he usually just say "the gender binary is a loads of bullshit! Don't you agree?" With his friends just reacting like "yeah Wilson yeah.. okay wilson we got u buddy" but they ain't telling on their assumptions yet because they want Wilson to figure that fact out himself

°Wilson is also strangely transfixed by the fact that WX78 refers themself as nonbinary and yet still presents themself masculinely. He supports this, but is also being rather chatty and questionative about this, thinking that it's for 'knowledge' but nah bro ur just trying to subsconciously relate to this nb gnc robot because ur ACTUALLY nb yourself... But u don't know that yet so u keep desperately asking trying to believe that nah, this is only curiosity, Im not asking because I'm interested to know what it's like, no REALLY, I can't be....u know...

- oh but he can be. And in fact, he did realize that he can *just* be. I'm thinking he's goin on his tirades again and it WAS Webber, and Webber responds something like "Gee I don't know Mr.Wilson, why don't you just step out of the box?" ° anyway my HC with nb Wilson is that this guy? Doesn't give a fuck about the societal concept of gender. He still uses mostly (he/) pronouns but he is VERY much nonbinary, but feeling close to masculinity he presents as such. And that's all for my Nb and mlm Wilson HC lol. Basically Wilson is a late bloomer in fully realizing his identity, and that's okay!

A random headcanon: he’s a really good therapist and he’s learned a lot about how to read people from Inoichi, he uses Shogi as a sort of EMDR therapy (which I do!!! I do EMDR! or did EMDR, sort of fucked on that front bcus I can’t see my therapist in person); he’s not certified in any sense but when people have issues they sort of naturally seek him out to talk about it over a game of Shogi, he’s really good at taking people’s emotions and not responding to them lashing out

General Opinion over said character: I love him a lot honestly ! Even before you I thought he was a really good dad and a well rounded character!

Sexuality Headcanon: Bi and he doesn’t know it, he knows he likes everyone but he doesn’t know there’s a label for it and also it never occurs to him EVERYONE isn’t also bi lmao

Gender Headcanon: gnc trans male! he likes feminine cuts of traditional clothing more than masculine and loves when people do his makeup

A ship I have with said character: SASUKE......................... it makes me so fucking emo bro you have no idea. I’ll start crying over a poetry edit and be like “this is it i’m homophobic now how dare the gays do this to me, a gay man!” but i love their relationship and it could have been SO MUCH. Naruto should have left the village for Sasuke honestly. :-/

A BROTP I have with said character: Sakura! Once he gets over his crush on her ! Also I HC Sakura as a lesbian? Or bi with a heavy preference for women, because I also ship SakuNaruSasu lmao, I know this is Naruto’s time but Sakura is amazing and I love her too and they’re BFFL

A random headcanon: He never really lets go of his dark half, and in the ideal universe it culminates in him leaving the leaf village, he’ll still fight on the side of the masses but he can no longer support the villages as they stand now and seeks out Sasuke to fight side by side with him

General Opinion over said character: he could have been so much, he could have changed the world in so many good ways, and I love him so so much I just think Kishi is a fucking coward lmao. He is also my son. My angel. My baby boy. I will raise him like my own child. I will kiss his little forehead and tuck him into bed every night.
