thank you thank you! here is some grumpy!sirius and sunshine!reader. i still don't know that i've got this trope totally down correctly but hope you like it anyway! :) | fem!reader, fluff, 1k

You can hardly hear Remus when you pick up the phone. You check the clock on the wall. It's time for him to be at the pub with James and Sirius, so you're not sure why he's calling.

"Hello?" you say. 

"Oh, thank fuck," Remus cries. If he's cursing, you know something is up.

"What's wrong? Is Sirius there?" You expect that maybe he's gotten into trouble with another patron or that he's let his phone die and asked Remus to tell you. 

"Is that her? Did you get her? Beg her, Remus. Tell her I'll buy her drinks for a week!" James is shouting in the background to be heard through the phone.

"I'm handling it," Remus calls back. You pull the speaker away from your ear as he does. What is going on? "Sorry," he says, much quieter now. He must have cupped his hand over the microphone. "Listen, can you come out to the pub? Our regular one?"

"But it's boy's night," you say. They invite you round more often than not, but it's important to you that they get to have their time as mates, too. 

"I know," he sighs. "But--" There's a bit of a commotion and a lot of cursing and then James comes on the line.

"Please, for the love of all that is good and holy, can you come 'round? Your boyfriend is being miserable and it's going to get us kicked out. And this is my favorite spot!" Your stomach ties itself in a knot. Sirius? He hasn't texted you about anything concerning beyond reminding you that he'd be home later than usual. 

"Is he okay?" James must hear your concern because he backpedals.

"Oh, yeah, he's fine, love, honest. We just ran into that tosser Lestrange on the way over and he's a bit sour. Family drama, and all that. Can you just come and get him to chill the fuck out, please?"

You're already reaching for your purse. It still makes you a little giddy that everyone knows you're the one who Sirius responds to the most. For some reason you can always bring him out of a mood, and you like doing it. "I'll be there in fifteen minutes or so."

"Is she coming?" Remus calls from the background. "Can I have my phone back now, please?" You end the call and shove your feet into your shoes and head out the door. You're not really in a pub-going outfit, but it'll have to do. You know that Sirius won't care much. 

When you get to the bar you shoulder your way to the back where you know they'll be. Familiar faces call out your name and you wave to them, dispensing smiles and greetings with genuine happiness. 

Your heart swells when you finally get to the back booth. Sirius is sat on one side, glaring at the beer in his hands. James and Remus are chatting to some other friends close by. As soon as you take a step towards your boyfriend, he looks up, like he sensed you coming. And his entire body transforms. He sits up straighter, his hands loosening their grip on the glass. He doesn't smile, not quite, but his jaw unclenches and his pupils dilate. 

You beam at him. He quickly scoots out of the booth to greet you, hands outstretched as you reach for him in turn. 

"My girl," he says, kissing your cheek before pulling you in for a hug. "What are you doing here?" Sirius rarely sounds delighted unless he's talking about how his club crushed their rival or how he managed to trick James into glueing his hand to his face, but this is pretty close. 

You shrug in his hold. "Got bored at home." He pulls away and smoothes his thumb over one of your eyebrows. 

"Hmm," he says. "Try again." You laugh, loudly and freely, and that does get him to smile. Only a little, but you count it as a victory. His smiles are like treasures and you keep them all in a lock-box in your chest. 

"Remus called," you tell him honestly. He makes an annoyed noise, looking over his shoulder to glare at his friends. Both of them resolutely keep their gaze elsewhere. 

Sirius leads you back to the booth and you settle in next to him, thigh pressed to his. He drapes an arm around you. Seeing that the danger has passed, James and Remus slide in on the other side. 

"I told them not to bother you," Sirius says, frowning. But his hands betray him, one curling around your shoulder and the other resting warm and heavy on your kneecap. 

"As if this is a bother," you scold. "Plus, James said he'd buy my drinks." You look at your t-shirt -- and old one of Sirius', and frown. "I wish I had thought to change, though."

"No," he says quickly. His fingers tuck under the collar to press into your bare skin. "No, I like this."

"It's fucking magic," Remus mutters from the other side of the booth. "Unbelievable."

James has his head in his hands. "It's like he didn't tell me to shove my head up my ass ten minutes ago." Sirius flips them off and leans in close, pressing his lips to your ear.

"It's obvious you're wearing my shirt," he says, voice gravely. You flight the urge to shiver. "Got me thinking all kinds of inappropriate things over here."

"Alright, you're going to get us kicked out for a different reason," James whines. You look at him and he winks. It's obvious that you're the keeper of Sirius's happiness and no one minds all that much, considering they love him. You all do. It's the easiest thing in the world.

what i really want when i say i want an Enchanted alex x mc au:

an au where alex is a divorce lawyer who’s given up on finding lvoe for themself because there’s only one person they’ve ever truly loved and they don’t believe she’ll ever feel the same about them. they help others separate when their love has turned sour, kind of as a self-punishment, but also as a reminder on how many marriages end, and how messy they can get and how they would never want to risk losing their friendship with mc over love that might not last.

mc, however, IS in love with them and has been for years but never thought they’d feel anything like that for her. she’s a marriage counsellor who helps couples work through their problems and reminds them of why they loved each other in the first place. she loves her job because it gives her hope on achieving the love that she wants someday, and it reminds her that even through the difficult times, love can find its way through if you’re doing it together

final serpentina thoughts. i have this tracklist memorized so if any placements are wrong that’s why, but if theyre all right it is a sign of how much i lvoe this mfing album. there needs to be a word stronger than album like film for movie and novel for book

1) misunderstood - definitely giving me “till now’s twin sister if till now is the evil twin.” i don’t love it and i do skip it but i like it. experimental n interesting n playful n joyful. the reviewer who called this song “goth” is literally a meth addict

2) meteorite - groove. stim

3) fuck love - see above

4) deadend - this is the first indication on the album that the old banks is 100% still here. this could’ve been on the altar or goddess

5) holding back - banger. each time i hear it i’m like “this isn’t my favourite on the album but it’s for sure the best.” theres a reason this is the one she did on jimmy kimmel. complete banger and interesting and beautiful and desperate

6) the devil - THEE banger. the lead single of all time. billie wishes. actually i didnt notice how much this is like a billie eilish song until i read someone pointing it out but now i’m like, this is definitely banks’ attempt to copy billie eilish’s Thing. and it works. i sink into the groove of this one and it just Sounds sooo satisfying to me. i fucking love this song so much that i did a cruella de vil edit to it. which should tell you something

7) skinnydipped - not one of my faves. it’s fine, it’s good while i’m listening to it, but tbh i could care less and it doesn’t make me feel much. it does have a lil groove going on.

8) burn - what to say about this one. masterpiece. probably my absolute favourite on the album. gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. tied with poltergeist as my favourite of hers of all time, probably, which is saying A FUCKING LOT!! i became obsessed and fixated on finding blorbos to whom to assign this song. i regret to inform you that i did indeed have a blorbo realization but said blorbos are. sigh. from the mcu. and so i’m not gonna tell on myself like that. but i do have a whole mind palace build up around this beautiful, devastating, heart wrenching song.

9) birds by the sea - could take it or leave it. chord progression is kind of nice but it feels like it never really goes anywhere. it’s fine i guess. i do skip it. i am sorry ms banks

10) spirit - BAD. this song SOUNDS brittle and sour to my ears. like i physically get a sour taste in my mouth when i hear it. yes i have synesthesia yes i’m not unbearable we exist. i’m not insane for feeling like this either because 90% of fans whose opinions i have seen also don’t connect with spirit and don’t like it. it sounds weird and unfinished. the production is so fucking wack. it’s a shame because the bones of a nice song are buried somewhere in there and both banks and the guest vocalist have beautiful vocals on the song but it just doesn’t go anywhere. probably the worst banks song ever sobbing emoji. idk what happened w this one

11) anything 4 u - i’m actually still figuring this one out. it does bang. and i do sort of autistically latch onto it. but i am not sure. i am just not sure.

12) unleavable - THIS ONE. took some time. at first i didn’t love it and i thought it was just ok. and then i became fixated n obsessed with it. this one wrenches at me now

13) i still love u - i don’t care. another ballad. it’s pretty. it’s fine.  i skip it a majority of the time

final thoughts - there are 4 skips on this album (3 if i’m feeling generous towards misunderstood) leaving several of my favourite songs EVER. the highs here are so high and my brain has latched onto the grooves and rhythms here so hard that i cannot call this anything less than one of the albums of all time for me personally. actually i’ve just now had a breakthrough: looking back at ms banks discography she has never had an album with THIS many songs that connect to me on a Brain Level, and that’s why serpentina is a point of such fixation for me. like, songs that are satisfying for my Brain. she’s obviously had many many songs that i love in other ways, but these are songs that my brain grabs onto like a mfing fidget toy. and for that i have to say: thank you ms jillian banks, for your groundbreaking work in the autistic community. that is all

Daycares are possibly one of the least romantic places out there

Sun was anxiously bouncing on the balls of his feet. You were gonna be here any minute. Moon made sure to put the kids to sleep right away. Even slipping the more active ones a Moondrop or two. They both made an agreement that they would share your lunch break. Switching out in the middle of it so they could have equal time. Yeah, you would have to eat in the dark and the kids would have to sleep with the light on; but no one would mind…right?

It’s 12:03 and Sun is already convinced you bailed on them. He was practically screaming in his mind, with Moon yelling at him to shut up. Though, Sun instantly perks up upon seeing you walk through the door.

“Sunshine!” They call out before swiftly covering their faceplate and looks over to the sleeping kids. All of them are still asleep. Good. As much as he loves the children, he would hate for them to ruin this moment. “I’m so so so so sosososo happy to see you.” He speaks in a more hushed tone. Well, as hushed as he could get.

“I’m happy to see you too. Thanks for agreeing to have lunch with me.”

You take a seat at the security desk. It’s the only place in the daycare that can fit someone that isn’t a child. Seeing you there caused Sun to stress. He wasn’t allowed there! They didn’t want to seem like someone who would disobey rules. Not in front of you!

“H-hey! Why are you all the way over there? Why not sit on the floor together? So we could be close.”

“Oh…I uh, would Sun, but the ground is pretty hard even with the foam mats…and sticky”

“I can fix that!” Before you could even comprehend what he said, Sun already darted away. Digging through different cubbies and boxes, they procure an armful of pillows and blankets. They hastily, yet neatly, set them down in front of the security desk. “There now we can sit together.” He takes a seat on the blanket pallet and pats the space next to him.

With a sigh, you get up from the desk and take a seat next to Sun. In an instant he curls his arms around you, pressing the bottom half of his faceplate into your head. He doesn’t have a sense of smell but he can only imagine that you smell great.

“I heard that on human dates, you bring your partner a gift. I got you a little something, Sunshine!” Releasing one of his arms from your torso, he reaches into his chest compartment and pulls out a can of Fizzy Faz.

…They brought the worst flavor too. Now, all of the sodas taste unnatural and packed full of sugar. However, sour lime tastes exactly how you’d imagine battery acid to taste. Followed by a strange bitter aftertaste. You take the can anyway, not wanting to hurt his feelings.

“Thank you, Sun.”

There’s a few minutes of light conversation between the two of you. By conversation I mean Sun talking about any and everything and you listening while eating your food from El Chip’s. Finishing up some story about a puppet show, Sun looks over to the clock. He lets out a choked noise upon seeing his time was up. He didn’t want to switch! He would rather spend all the time in the world with you!

“Oh would you look at the time! Seems like it’s Moon’s turn. I mean unless they wouldn’t mind my time running ove-”

‘NO!’

Jumping at Moon’s loud tone, Sun gives you one last squeeze before getting up to turn the lights off. After shifting control over, Moon slinks his way over to you, making sure to grab a flashlight from the security desk. They flick the light on and set it between two pillows.

Taking one arm, he slings it over your midsection. With his other hand he brings it to your face. Easing you closer to his faceplate. The red lights of their optics glow against your skin. Moon goes to speak before a small hand tugs on his pants.

Spinning his head around, he looks at the child. “What are you doing up? It’s naptime.” Moon growls.

“I had a nightmare.”

Moon groans before getting up. “Come on kid.” They hoist the child onto their hip. Bringing them back to their sleep mat, he leans down in their ear. “Ten dollars if you go back to sleep right now.”

The kid is quick to lay back against the pillows and close their eyes. Moon didn’t have any money, he’d probably just take some from the gift shop cash register.

Moon returns and brings his hands back on you. “Ignore that, Moonlight…Had to help one of the kids back to sleep.”

“It’s alright, Moon. You seem pretty okay with kids. If it were possible, You and Sun would probably make some pretty cool dads.”

Just like that, Moon’s cooling fans kick on. Were you trying to imply something??? Would you want a family with them??? What if you got married and lived together! This was too much! He didn’t know how to handle this!

‘Moon! Calm down! We’re gonna overheat-!’

The lights of their eyes go out as they fall back onto the ground.

Rebooting…

Turning back on, Moon roughly sits up and looks around. It was dark, the kids were still sleeping, you weren’t next to him anymore…You weren’t there anymore! Oh, they blew it. You probably won’t step foot in the daycare again. You’ll probably go off with the stupid bear or annoying gator!

“Moon? Are you good?” That voice!

The night animatronic clambers onto his knees to wrap his arms around your waist. Realizing what he was doing, Moon pushed you away and crossed his arms.

“And where were you? We invite you on a romantic date and you just up and leave!”

“I went to throw my trash away, my break ends in five minutes. Thought it would be a good time while you rebooted.”

Their eyes flick over to the clock and then back to you…You were right, your break does end soon.

“Of course, Moonlight. I never doubted you for a second. That reminds me I have something for you.” He stands up to his full height. The daycare attendant easily towers over you by a few feet.

Reaching into their pants pocket, Moon pulls out a ribbon with a bell attached to it. Just like the ones he and Sun wear. He takes your wrist and ties it on. Now everyone will know you guys were together. With this, they’ll be able to hear where you’re at too!

“Thank you, Moon. Look at that, it's even in my favorite color.”

Your Fazwatch lets out three small beeps indicating that your break was over. “Gotta get back on the floor. Thank you guys. This was…fun…” That came out more like a question. “Maybe we could do this again sometime. I’ll see you before I leave for the day.” You grab the unopened can of Fizzy Faz and head back into the Pizza Plex.

‘Moon!! They wanna go on another date!! Is this what love is?! No wonder humans like this so much!! We’re pretty good at this dating thing!!’

“For once, as much as I hate to, I have to agree with you. Why do humans make this seem so hard?”

YA THESE GUYS!!!!! theyre so funny and stupid, they are one of the THE comedy gold jojo ships, and i rlly like their dynamic!! theyre always bickering in such funny ways like their personalities clash SO NICELY but also they learn how to work together and they manage to become rlly good pals (: neither of them will admit it tho. theyll never call each other "friend" but like what else are they. will never stop thinking abt when messina was like "wow caesar when u actually make friends u really fall in love" and caesar said absolutely nothing to that as he just continued looking for jojo's final exam with his fucking binoculars. thinking abt when they were on the same wavelength for the icicle stunt and joseph is just all "haha lol nice" while caesar is like "ur fucking INSANE!!! YOU DUMBASS" even tho he was in on the same plan without joseph even having to say anything!! cause theyre both insane and dumbasses!!!! god i lvoe them theyre so funny

i've found rlly good niches for caejose stuff but the overall fandom just kinda...dumbs it down i guess? like they dampen what makes the original dynamic so funny and sweet. like caesar can still be his funny grumbly self but they make joseph like.......not antagonistic which is just not true. joseph is always pressing caesar's buttons it's like their thing u know?? do not take this from him...joseph is a conniving bitch...

from what i've seen, the caejose fandom seems eager to get to the sweet aspects of caejose and i can understand why since we didn't get a whole lot from canon in that regard, but part of what makes their relationship so fun is the (non-serious) bickering and the fact neither of them understand how relationships work (caesar cause he's just never cared enough about one to put the work in and joseph cause lack of experience and a liiiittle bit of lack of maturity). it wouldnt bother me as much but it happens SO OFTEN and it sucks when the like...for lack of better word, fun part gets pushed aside for the sweet part and it's like no u gotta earn the sweetness......caejose is like sweet tarts. u must earn the sweet by combining it with the sour. do u get me. anyway
