Okay so yesterday I was at a ice hockey game and we had tickets for idk how it's called, this tunnel thing where the players come out, and I was standing there with my family, surrounded by people, outside were thousands of people who were all screaming and being loud and my social and all. My social anxiety kicked and I nearly had a panic attack while all the players passed us by and the last one stopped to ask if I was okay.

He stopped. To ask. If I was okay.

I've had a mortifying start to the semester.

As I began driving to campus, I realized the car was damn near out of gas. so I had to turn around rq to get gas. then traffic was shit. then the parking garage had a LINE into it, but I manage to bypass that and find a decent parking spot. then I'm bulldozing straight to my class, already 15 mins late. I get to the building, I find the room, and enter. only I entered the wrong class and I didn't notice until I realized the professor was not an Irish man. so then I entered the right classroom, which was the room right next to the wrong one, and I was near 30 mins late at that point. what a shitshow.

Okay, so first of all Dan would like to say it’s not his fault. Ellie was the one to bring some unknown object into the speeder and Jazz was the one driving. Or had Sam been driving- didn’t matter! It wasn’t his fault, he wasn’t the one shooting at them, he wasn’t the one to break whatever, he was not the one to open a stupid portal, and so it wasn’t his fault! 

So why is he now like, five years old, and why is the speeder crashed in some sort of corn field. Why is everyone- except for Jazz whose now like six- also like three at most?! And- oh fuck the door just opened and… okay that’s a kid. Like, nine at most. 

A kid and an adult, who he hadn’t noticed at first so again, it’s not his fault if he hissed at them and tried to hide his not-siblings behind him. It’s also not fair they’re apparently stuck to ghost speak for who knows how long, but at least they can understand the people.

I adored the scene between Orym and the Wildmother. I thought it was beautiful. they cannot make me hate either of them. but of course I must take it upon myself to address some responses to it that I’ve seen floating about, especially bc the way some people talk about emotions makes me concerned:

1) an appeal to emotion is not inherently manipulative. it’s a normal part of communication, and treating it as “playing dirty” will negatively affect yourself and your relationships with others. trust me. you are allowed to express your feelings, and other people are allowed to take your feelings into account and adjust their behavior. it’s actually a good thing! that’s healthy communication!

2) “see you soon” is not a death wish, nor is it a firm belief that he will die in the upcoming battle. it’s an acknowledgement that on the grand, cosmic scale of time, their separation is only for a short while. I suppose it would depend on the belief in an afterlife of the people around you, but have you never heard this sentiment expressed? not once?

do you guys ever think about how they don't let sotheby grieve. bc i do. i think about it a lot. do you guys ever think about how sotheby lost everything. do you ever think about how nobody told her. do you ever think about how she had no idea that that conversation with mr. karson was going to be her last. about how she called his name expecting him to be there. about how she was excited to see the rain! about how she was fascinated with how it reversed directions! she quite literally had no idea! she's a sheltered girl and no one told her! when the gastrointestinal disease spreads mr. karson says it's affecting the entire staff of the manor. do you guys ever think about how they must've been people sotheby had seen and interacted with every day before the storm. likely the ONLY people she interacted with. and none of them are alive anymore. she lost her entire life to the storm save for her parents and we don't even know where they are! do you ever think about how she's in an entirely new place with new people and of course it could've been worse, of course she's made friends but do you think about what she's lost! and do you think about how she smiles through it! no time is spent on how she feels about all of this. she could've been angry that everyone knew, and that no one thought her mature enough to handle it. i think she would've had every right to be upset with vertin after that but instead she devoted herself to helping her. do you guys ever think about this. where is everyone it's so dark in here
