thomas jefferson's potential family origin from st. kitts and nevis??
Holy shit was nobody going to tell me that there exists certain evidence that might suggest that Thomas Jefferson's great-grandfather lived in Nevis before coming to America?? Why have I never heard about this before?
I was browsing through The Founders and Finance How Hamilton, Gallatin, and Other Immigrants Forged a New Economy that had a note saying that Jefferson's paternal great-grandfather, also named Thomas Jefferson, arrived in Virginia after spending time in St. Kitts. I was confused and interested and searched it up.
An article from Monticello.org says there's speculation that one potential lineage goes from Samuel Jeaffreson (1607) born in Suffolk, England, who lived on St. Kitts to his son Thomas (Jefferson's great-grandfather) who was recorded to be in Henrico County, Virginia later on. It's also possible that he's descended from Colonel John Jeaffreson, a merchant who was involved in schemes to colonize the West Indies and part of the same family, who built a fortune on St. Kitts before returning to England in the 1650s to buy an estate at Dullingham House. Evidence links him to a Thomas Jefferson living in Nevis who might've been John Jeafferson's son, aka Jefferson's great-grandfather later found in Henrico.
Jefferson might have known about this because the Jeaffresons of Dullingham House are where the Virginian Jeffersons derived their coat of arms from. Jefferson had doubts about it, but he still used it and attached his own family motto.
Like?? Am I the only one cracking up at the fact that Thomas Jefferson's paternal family might've not only found their fortune in the West Indies through trade & speculation, but at St. Kitts and Nevis? And that a different Thomas Jefferson, his great-grandpa, lived on the specific tiny island that Alexander Hamilton was born on? The very place that Jefferson so nicely said, created a man "whose history, from the moment at which history can stoop to notice him, is a tissue of machinations against the liberty of the country which has not only recieved and given him bread, but heaped it’s honors on his head"?

I want to watch something with Jeremy. Should I do Hansel & Gretel, The Hurt Locker, or a few episodes of Mayor of Kingstown?
I’ve already seen these, btw.

Eddie is such a good father. It takes a good parent to give their child the space they need but still invite someone in who can be a safe space so that Christopher is talking to someone. Giving your child that time speaks volumes of who he is as a person and a father.
He doesn’t want to bust the door down he wants Christopher to open it. He wants the privilege of being allowed back in and he recognizes that he needs to earn it. That he cannot force it upon him. Until then he’s going to do what he can to provide Christopher the support and trust that he probably feels like he’s missing from his dad right now.

When I say I really want a Jason adopts tim fic, I don't mean I want him to become a parent at 19 to a teen like 2-4 years younger than him, I want Jason to meet Tim and decide that he wants Tim on his side.
I want Jason to adopt Tim as his Robin, like he decides that he wants to recruit this 15 year old that is some how the smartest and snarkiest person in Gotham. I don't want infantilised tim, I want a sorta Nani and Lilo sibling dynamic, but with a smaller age gap.
Like sure, Jason sees his little brother as some sort of soggy kitten that he must protect, but also a Tim that is very capable of looking after himself.
I want Tim to look at Jason, see Bruce back when he first donned the Cape and traffic light colours. And then in true Tim fashion decide to fix him, B was being too over protective since Red Hood showed up anyways.
Like imagine, Jason meeting Tim instead by accident when he drops in on a drug trade. Tim says some quip that throws him off his game while fighting. Jason basically losing to a very deadly fifteen year old who's not slept in 29 hours, and he thinks 'f it, I like the kid'. Then trying to recruit him consistently until Tim goes 'why tf not'.
I want enemies to caretaker, but they both think they're the caretaker

the great irony of early one piece antagonists believing zoro was the actual captain and using luffy as a puppet ... oda really threw us a bone and curb-stomped it right in our faces. yes, zoro could be a captain in his own right. yes, zoro could match luffy in strength. yes, zoro knows this perfectly well. and you know what? he chose luffy two years ago, and he will continue to choose luffy again and again. roronoa zoro, the pirate hunter, who followed a wannabe pirate with a nonexistent crew on a whim because luffy brought him his swords and made a half-assed attempt at a bargain. zoro, who made a vow to never lose again on both his and luffy's honor. zoro, who told luffy he'd make him commit harakiri if he got in the way of zoro's goal, only to turn around and be willing to sacrifice his dream if it means that luffy reaches his. zoro, who stood in place and took luffy's pain and told a warlord to take his head instead of luffy's, who got down on his knees before his supposed rival and begged mihawk to mentor him so that he could return strong enough to protect his captain. zoro, who has conqueror's haki- a natural born leader- but chooses to stay at the right hand of a man he has deemed greater than himself.
and the thing that luffy fears most? being alone. being rejected. being left behind. and what should have been his foil- the pirate hunter to his pirate king, the nonbeliever to his divine, the king of hell to his sun god- instead becomes his first and most devout follower; the one who demands to follow him to hell and back. oughhhggg i'm sick to my stomach
